What does Crastor Bring to the Table:

Crastor is a frontline Tank. He will focus on getting a high AC to hold the line. He has a familiar which will gain access to his divine healing capabilities. As a general rule, Bush will just pretend to be an inanimate stick, but if needed he will be able to eventually use my Divine Healing abilities to help party members who are in trouble or to heal Crastor if he gets too beat up.

Background:

Crastor grew up on the outskirts of Restov. He dreamed of one day being a Sword Scion as his great grandfather was and serving Abadar and Rostov to keep the peace and well being of Restov. Unfortunately, he was little more than a messenger running minor errands that warranted carrying a sword but never fighting valiantly.

One day while going to meet with a magister who had an errand for him he noticed a strange small plant on the side of the street. He felt a strange compulsion to go closer and then was shocked when the small plant started gesturing towards a wall with notices on it. The shock did not wear off, but Crastor felt strangely comfortable around the little plant. After a short pause he looked up and saw a notice about adventurers being sent off to the Stolen Lands to explore and discover what was or was not in the area. Without thinking about it, Crastor picked up the small bush and tucked it into his belt pouch where it grew rigid and appeared to just be a stick poking out of his pouch. Over the next few days he kept the small stick with him and when they were alone it would come alive and seem to keep gesturing towards the Stolen lands. Crastor felt a pressing need to go when that happened.

And so on the morning when it was time for adventures to gather and apply to go, Crastor found himself there with his horse, supplies and “Bush” ready to go south and see if it was finally time to earn the glory and honor that would let him become a Sword Scion.

Crastor doesn't know it, but Bush is a messenger from Abadar and is being sent to bring civilization to the Greenbelt.

Looking deeper in to it I think I'll pass on the Exemplar traits. Too feat starved.

Question since I don't see a definite answer from Paizo. Can the Eldritch Scoundrel be an Unchained Rogue? If not I'll have to figure out something else. Standard Rogue gives up too much.

Is Variant Multiclassing allowed?

Ridge here..
Here is Daxiana Gloridia Medvyed, a human ranger with focus on archery!
It's a tale as old as time as she would rather get attacked by bandits than face one more of her parents' chosen potential suitors for her.

Bit of fiction in the alias along with the crunch. Let me know if I need to change anything

@Ridge: Love Daxiana's avatar picture! Now I'm expecting some sassy quips from your poacher-hunting-deer-avenger.

Looks like in this KM game we going for the same idea.....

Except, I'm using Slayer not ranger

Thank you. I loved the avatar as well, it really did capture the vibe I wanted :)

Not intentional on my part. Just it looked like no one had offered up a ranger yet.

Interesting Ill have a background and some updates. For the Courtesan forced pioneer!

Murielle, Cursed Summoner backstory completed!

After working on that, I'm really going to have to find a game for this character if she doesn't get picked here. Now I'm invested, lol.

Edit: I intentionally left Murielle's time less detailed from the point in which her Soulbound Summoner powers emerged to allow for potential backstory collaboration with other players. And of course, who her parents/family might actually be is entirely within the hands of the GM. ;)

This is Wandering Wastrel’s submission, an elf wizard. The concept is a deliberate rejection of the Tolkienesque love affair with elves: immortal, all-knowing, fair-spoken, beautiful, wise, etc. etc. etc. Allandír is none of these things but he does live up to the other Tolkienesque trope of “looks foul but feels fair.”

I’ve added some key NPCs and a goal or two – if you think the whole ‘divided loyalties’ thing between Brevoy and Kyonin is over-complicated, I can easily remove it without significantly changing the character; please let me know. I’ve also added in an NPC who fled to the Stolen Lands – again, if you think that’s over-complicating things, it can easily be removed.

I’ve given him a couple of scrolls at full price. If you will allow self-crafting, it would save up some money but I haven’t assumed you are OK with that.

Here's my druid Iolandria, a stolen lands native, born in the south of Brevoy, raised by her hedge witch of a mother, and trained in the Grozni forest by "the Rootwitch", a reclusive druid.

I will have something up by tomorrow. Got the basics fleshed out for a human cleric of the Inheritor.

Iolandra Zamfi wrote:

It really IS rare for a recruitment to go that long without doubling up with this or that class. I am somewhat amused how this worked out so far.

As of this post, we don't have anyone trying out of the core classes of Barbarian, a monk, or a sorcerer.
The APG classes, we're lacking Alchemist, Cavalier, Inquisitor (Though someone plans to multiclass there I think) or Witch.

No Magus either

Not that we need one applicant for each, but it's interesting :)

Submitting a cavalier! It really is one of my favorite classes, and Kingmaker is one of the better APs for it.

Presenting Wulfric Tilernos.

Background:
Wulfric’s family have lived in Rostland for centuries. His ancestor many generations back was Sir Damon Tilernos, a cavalier from Lastwall who had joined with the Aldori Swordlords to oppose Choral the Conqueror. Sir Damon fell at the Valley of Fire, slaughtered by dragonfire with no hope of being able to fight back. For generations, the family fell in line with the rule of House Rogarvia, shamed by the utter futility of their defiance.
Wulfric was born in 4690 AR (assuming the AP begins in 4710 AR) and was raised in Rostland in a comfortable and loving home. His parents are farmers, his older sister Saryann a minstrel, and his younger brother Tobert an aspiring priest. He had a fairly normal life until he was nine years old. But, in 4699 AR, on the night of the Vanishing, Wulfric had a vision.
Be ready, the voice said, and find your destiny in the Valley of Fire. He saw in the vision the sword-and-starburst of Iomedae high above the Valley.
Wulfric’s family kept the visions a secret. For a young boy to have the visions on the night of the Vanishing was highly suspicious and could place him in great danger from allies of House Rogarvia. Still, the family confided to priests of Iomedae, who advised that such a sign could not be ignored.
And so it was that they ventured to the Valley of Fire. The only immediate sign was another vision, a voice whispering Train and learn, with an image of a horse running through the Valley.
As there is no better place to train a cavalier, Wulfric was sent to Lastwall where he served first as a page and then a squire.
Finally, last year, his visions called him back to the Valley of Fire. A young stallion approached him, and he knew that it was the reincarnation of his ancestor’s steed. He knew it was Vindicator.
The current opportunity to venture into the Stolen Lands appeals greatly to him. He is a loyal Rostlander, and he holds out the hope of establishing a realm that is closer to Rostov than to the Dragonscale Throne and the Surtova family (cursed be their name).

Personality:

Wulfric has a bit (but only a bit) of his mother Talsana's charm and his father Brigham's quick wit. He is strong, brave, and kind-hearted, and worships the ground his parents walk on. Humble and polite, Wulfric doesn’t even insult enemies (not that he has many). Always the largest and strongest kid of his age, he was noted for standing up for the smaller kids and never being a bully. He is a devout follower of Iomedae but more rustic than many of those he met in Lastwall; while his family was of the nobility many centuries ago, they are fairly typical Rostlanders these days.
He is relatively adept at masking his dislike for the Surtovas. Although he is not terribly comfortable with deception, he will resort to it when needed.

Edicts of Wulfric Tilernos, Knight-Errant:

• Avenge the defeat of the Aldori Swordlords at the hands of Choral the Conqueror and his dragons. Slay any who would seek to use dragons to conquer humans (especially those who would use dragons against non-magical armies).
• Show courage in the face of danger.
• Establish a realm where honor and righteousness can thrive.
• Strengthen the position of Rostland and Restov, and diminish the power of the Surtova family.

Appearance:

Wulfric stands slightly under six feet tall, and is fairly lean. He has black hair, brown eyes, and tanned skin. He wears Lastwall armor, well-kept and polished; a gift from Sir Hendric the Vigilant (the knight he squired for).

Role:

Wulfric is a front-line fighter and will, like most cavaliers, develop exceptional damage capability on a mounted charge, though he is competent unmounted as well. He also has good social skills and wilderness skills. His Tactician ability (and, later, his Banner) should help the entire party.

Yeah, I noticed that when I was listing everyone - I've never seen it before either. I think it shows what a good job Paizo did with PF1 that the classes they put together (oracle, cavalier, arcanist, etc) are as popular as the traditional wizard/cleric etc classes they imported from D&D.

Lots of submissions now! I don't envy the GM their decision.

Definitely. It's gonna be tough for them to decide.

... mind you, I've had Agak planned for awhile - initially he was a full orc Ancestors Oracle for 2e, but I've adjusted him to better suit 1e. We'll see how he ends up!

it is not fun having to filter out great submissions with great potential, but you can only take in so many players.

Sorry everyone for the radio silence but last week was kind of busy and the weekend is, well...the weekend, but I have been monitoring the thread.

No sweat, GM. Today I had to cut a post short because my baby woke up and I had to tend to her. All in all, life is always more important.

Background:

Sven is a dwarf from the Langebukk Clan and is descended from Unthal Langebukk. In ages past, a series of keeps were built in the Stolen Lands by the dwarves to protect their trade routes. One such keep was Bronzeshield Fortress. Just like the Woradashes and Skjegges, Sven's clan abandoned the Stolen Lands in shame, their enterprise having failed and their coffers dry. When the dwarves left, the Shield Road fell and their fortresses were left empty and open to the desecration of others.

The young dwarf grew up with tales of this folly his ancestors, who for three hundreds years had dedicated their lives to the Shield Road. It was said that a dwarf belonged in the mountains, and it was leaving which had led to ruin.

Sven took the opposite lesson. A devout follower of Angradd, he believed that it was sticking to their own which had led to the shame of his clan. They had built fortresses to defend a trade road, but what had they done to bring in trade? They had tried to bring the Mountains to the Stolen Lands, rather than adapt to life there. The answer, in his mind, was in mankind. A kingdom could not be made with just dwarven hands. It required real settlement by a young and vibrant race, and actual reason for trade to flow through. And he sincerely believed that the safety of his own people required the outside world to be safe. Dangers had to be pushed back on the borders, in places just like the Stolen Lands. When such areas became safe, then so too would the more civilized lands become safe too. Danger and evil alike had to be faced head on! These ideas, of course, fell on deaf ears. His people had tried and they had failed, and if there was one thing they could not stand it was being reminded of their shame.

And that is why Sven left his home. A young, hotheaded and brash dwarf, who had the desire to tame the Stolen Lands. To have the shame of his people erased, and for the world to know that the Langebukk Clan had finally succeeded. And to do that, what he needed to do was to join a new push to settle these lands.

It was for this reason that he joined the expedition to settle the Stolen Lands. Cursing the stubbornness of his kin, he stubbornly went forth to prove himself right.

Dotting for interest. Thinking an Unchained Rogue with the Scout archetype. I'll get something up later tonight.

Hey, everyone. I'm going to extend the deadline for submissions until Thursday night. I'm busy at work and that'll give those who dotted for interest some extra time to finish up.

Okay, my ideas have finally coalesced! I’m thinking I’m gonna make a Half Elf Investigator (yay keeping to 1 of each class) who is the bastard son of a Restovan noble who’s trying to make a name for himself so his father will claim him.

Appreciated. Of course the last couple of days that I get a chance to work on him, gets tied up with an emergency on the refinery that I work on. :(

So much for the last couple of days and working on game stuff when RL intrudes like that.

Grand Lodge

Ill try a background and Tweaks

This is AJM's submission, Aelbourne Silverleaf, half elf Unchained Rogue with the Scout archetype.

I can see that someone else also submitted an Unchained Scout, apologies for breaking the streak.

I won't be able to finished my character before the deadline, so it'll have to be what is there.

Hm, weirdly, this is my second shaman, but I didn't get too much a chance to play with the last one. It'd be an adjustment, for sure, if I get in.

Thanks to Wandering Wastrel for doing the work of making the list with links. That can take some time. Out of curiosity, I placed everyone into a general category, to see what the submission breakdown looks like.

Melee DPS and Tanks

Ridge - Daxiana Gloridia Medvyed, Human Ranger
* Weapon: Rapier

Nope!

Daxiana has a rapier, but her main weapon is the Longbow, and she has most of her feats focused on ranged combat

Ah! My apologies for getting that wrong.

Sliding in just before the deadline (Well 4 hours but close enough) Here is Calabanian's submission! Sawn is a vigilante that fills either Melee DPS/tank Role or part of the Skill Monkey role, he is quite good at face skills though lacks much in the way of trapfinding/knowledges, he does however have a lot of utility with Always Prepared. He will become significantly more tanky at level 2 when he is able to wear heavy armor.

If selected I’ll probably expand the backstory a bit/make it read a touch clearer!

Good Luck to everyone!

Dark Archive

Hello! My name is Nate Wright. I’ve been playing Pathfinder in one form or another for over a decade. I have experience with Pathfinder Society as well as home campaigns. I maintain a blog where I muse about mechanics and flavor while providing free Pantfhinder/Starfinder content. I also have experience in other Play by Post games, with my most recent example being here as Xallis Livara.

I’m hoping to join this game and have a good time with people online. While I’ve played the PC version of Kingmaker in the past, I know that it can vary between campaigns and parties, and I've also got lots of experience playing 'blind' through scenarios that I've already played or GM'd.

This character is an alchemist with a melee fighter bent, with a little bit of paladin flavor sprinkled in.

Backstory/Hooks:

Demius had always admired the Aldori Swordlords, from the earliest days of his adolescence to his entry into manhood. However, his family lacked the funds and the standing to get him a proper education in the art. Thankfully, for all he lacked in the nobles’ sphere of influence, he was blessed with a keen mind and a strong arm.

Being that he came from a deeply religious family, he was sent to the church of Iomedae to receive training in the blade. There, his ambitions were slowly steered away from personal glory and showmanship, and more towards using his abilities to fight for the innocent. During his time, he also received training as a healer, learning several methods of tending to the wounded in both mundane and alchemical means.

However, the boy’s ambitions for greatness never quite dulled. While he was driven towards righteousness, he still held the vision of perfection in swordsmanship. And with his newfound knowledge of alchemy, he sought to find a way to develop an elixir that could bestow such skill and prowess onto any deserving soul. After all, is it truly fair that a good man might find himself unable to defend himself in the face of wickedness? A paladin can’t be everywhere at once, and evil never rests.

And so, upon hearing of the opportunity of this expedition, Demius took to the calling without hesitation. Here is where he would test his own skill, his own mettle, and his own concoctions. Here is where he might provide aid to those in the wilds who may need it most. And here is where he might find the key to creating the perfect soldier.

Reasons for Demius to adventure
- Put his personal training and alchemical elixirs to the test
- Ensure the expedition is not without the light of Iomedae
- Study the biology of strange beasts to better enhance his own formulae
- Develop a way to produce elite soldiers to defend the good people of Golarion

Liberty's Edge

Not that it matters much but Brand the Bold will be using his claws and grappling more than using a spear. The spear is just flavor.

That sounds very bold of him.
