True! Little more than a day left, if anyone is still working on their chaarcters.

I'm pretty much good other than fixing typos, I think.

Hrolf the Striped (with minor mechanical revisions)

Background:

Hrolf Koudelka

Son of Harman and Thiera Koudelka, Hrolf was born an Aasimar after a celestial was summoned to bless their marriage by Thiera’s grandfather (a significant priest of Nobannion who has since passed). Hrolf found great joy in the company of animals growing up, and adopted a tiger cub found abandoned in the woods.

He grew up near the small druidic city of Cedarspoke in the Dragon Coast. His parents are vegetable farmers and still run a greengrocer’s stall in the market there.

He learned his fighting from a variety of sources: rangers, warrior druids, wrestling with She-ra (his tiger animal companion) and a wandering member of the Hin Fists. It all melded together in a unique style. He has some practical field experience from riding with the Cedarspoke militia as they patrolled for bandits, goblins and the like...

Now he’s on a journey to see the world and find himself. He signed on as a caravan guard and left Cedarspoke, heading along the trade way to Baldur’s Gate. When the church of Selune was looking for adventurers to investigate what’s going on in Silvermoon Glade, he was happy to sign up...

Description:

He is large but halfling sized at 3’7” and has a solid, well muscled build. His hair is a curly mop; unusually, it is striped (ie. like a tiger) in reddish orange and black. Green eyes peak from below his bangs. Clearly an outdoorsman, he show freckles on weather-beaten skin, a hooked nose, and a long-healed scar down his left cheek. As you come closer, wisps of choral music seem to faintly tickle your ears. He has a birthmark on his left palm, that looks much like a coin... (he is right handed).

Race Abilities:

Native Outsider: Aasimars are outsiders with the native subtype.
Small: As an Aasimar of Halfling descent, Hrolf is a small creature.
Normal Speed: Aasimars have a base speed of 30 feet.
Darkvision: Aasimars can see in the dark up to 60 feet.
Skilled: Angel-Blooded Aasimars have a +2 racial bonus on Heal and K Plans checks
Spell-Like Ability: Angel-Blooded Aasimars can use Alter Self once per day as a spell-like ability (with a caster level equal to the aasimar’s character level).
Celestial Resistance: Aasimars have acid resistance 5, cold resistance 5, and electricity resistance 5.
Languages: Aasimars begin play speaking Common and Celestial. Aasimars with high Intelligence scores can choose from the following languages: Draconic, Dwarven, Elven, Gnome, Halfling, and Sylvan.

Class Abilities:

Weapon and Armor Proficiency: A brawler is proficient with all simple weapons plus the handaxe, short sword, and weapons from the close fighter weapon group. She is proficient with light armor and shields (except tower shields).

Brawler’s Cunning (Ex): If the brawler’s Intelligence score is less than 13, it counts as 13 for the purpose of meeting the prerequisites of combat feats.

Martial Flexibility (Ex) (4/day): A brawler can take a move action to gain the benefit of a combat feat she doesn’t possess. This effect lasts for 1 minute. The brawler must meet all the feat’s prerequisites. She may use this ability a number of times per day equal to 3 + 1/2 her brawler level (minimum 1).

The brawler can use this ability again before the duration expires in order to replace the previous combat feat with another choice.

If a combat feat has a daily use limitation (such as Stunning Fist), any uses of that combat feat while using this ability count toward that feat’s daily limit. At 6th level, a brawler can use this ability to gain the benefit of two combat feats at the same time. She may select one feat as a swift action or two feats as a move action. She may use one of these feats to meet a prerequisite of the second feat; doing so means that she cannot replace a feat currently fulfilling another’s prerequisite without also replacing those feats that require it. Each individual feat selected counts toward her daily uses of this ability.

Martial Training (Ex): At 1st level, a brawler counts her total brawler levels as both fighter levels and monk levels for the purpose of qualifying for feats. She also counts as both a fighter and a monk for feats and magic items that have different effects based on whether the character has levels in those classes (such as Stunning Fist and a monk’s robe). This ability does not automatically grant feats normally granted to fighters and monks based on class level, namely Stunning Fist.

Unarmed Strike: At 1st level, a brawler gains Improved Unarmed Strike Unarmed Combatant as a bonus feat. A brawler may attack with fists, elbows, knees, and feet. This means that a brawler may make unarmed strikes with her hands full. A brawler applies her full Strength modifier (not half ) on damage rolls for all her unarmed strikes.

Usually, a brawler’s unarmed strikes deal lethal damage, but she can choose to deal nonlethal damage instead with no penalty on her attack roll. She has the same choice to deal lethal or nonlethal damage while grappling.

A brawler’s unarmed strike is treated as both a manufactured weapon and a natural weapon for the purpose of spells and effects that modify either manufactured weapons or natural weapons.

A brawler also deals more damage with her unarmed strikes than others, (1d4).

Animal Companion (Ex): At 1st level, a wild child forms a bond with a loyal companion that accompanies the wild child on his adventures. A wild child can begin play with any of the animals available to a druid. The wild child uses his brawler level as his effective druid level for determining the abilities of his animal companion. This ability replaces the bonus combat feats gained at 2nd, 8th, 14th, and 20th levels.

Character Progression:

After 1 level in brawler, the Hrolf will proceed with either Hunter(???) or Inquisitor (Sacred Huntmaster).

Background Questions:

These questions are just meant to help me and you flesh out your character. You can answer any or all of them, but the more you have the better it is for me.
1. What is your character’s name? Hrolf (the Striped) Koudelka
2. How old is your character? 23 years old
3. What would somebody see at first glance (i.e. height, weight, skin color, eye color, hair color, physique, race, and visible equipment)?
See Description above
4. What additional attributes would be noticed upon meeting the character (i.e. Speech, mannerisms)?
His speaks plainly and bluntly – a county boy, not used to playing word games.
5. Where was your character born? Where were you raised? By who?
Near the druidic city of Cedarspoke (the Dragon Coast). Raised by Harman and Thiera (parents)

6. Who are your parents? Are they alive? What do they do for a living?
Harman and Thiera are alive. They are farmers and greengrocers. They have another son Clement (11 years old) and a daughter Drou (15 years old).

7. Do you have any other family or friends?
There are some aunts, uncles and cousins in the vicinity of Cedarspoke, and some childhood friends. This trip though is the first he’s been away from home on his own...
8. What is your character’s marital status? Kids?
Young and fancy free; no kids, no current girlfriend.
9. What is your character’s alignment?
Chaotic Good
10. What is your character’s moral code?
It’s unformed – he’s young and still a bit innocent. He know there are things he doesn’t like, and there are lines he won’t cross, but he’d have a hard time articulating them. What he’s willing to do is pretty situational. Eg He’d be unwilling to sneak into the camp of a bunch of human bandits and kill them while they slept, but he’d do that to a bunch of orcs (despite the fact that the bandits could easily be just as , or even more, evil than the orcs)
11. Does your character have goals?
He’s currently young (dumb) and enthusiastic, nothing is really set in stone. He ‘s out to have fun while doing some good.
12. Is your character religious?
Yes, a worshipper of Shalamora (Tymora).
13. What are your character’s personal beliefs?
Give it your best shot. Take a hit to give a hit. Look on the bright side. Shalamora doesn’t like a quitter. Live free and die with your boots on.
14. Does your character have any personality quirks (i.e. anti-social, arrogant, optimistic, paranoid)?
He likes to win, more than most – whether it’s at cards, love or with a blade in hand, he’s willing to go to extremes. He’s a work (fight) hard and play hard kind of guy.
15. Why does your character adventure? Why did your character accept the job?
It’s a thrill, a challenge and it pays well while doing some good.
16. How does your character view his/her role as an adventurer?
Warrior, champion and defender. Willing to take up any challenge on She-ra’s back.
17. Does your character have any distinguishing marks (birth-marks, scars, deformities)?
Tiger stripe hair
18. How does your character get along with others?
In a word, aggressive; in love or war, he pushes.
19. Is there anything that your character hates?
Slavers, animal abusers, despoilers of the wildlands
20. Is there anything that your character fears?
He finds the undead distinctly disturbing

I'm good to go.

Tariina should be good to go. While there are some similarities between her and Marith/Delightful (both drow followers of Eilistrae wishing to become Sword Dancers) I think they have enough differences between them especially in how they grew up. I'd be happy to join our backstories somewhat if we both got in.

Ironically, Lythrana's mother is a Sword Dancer of Eilistraee

Let's gooooooo full party of Drow lol.

Half drow in my case. lol

Drow Sword Dancer + Human Wizard = Half-Drow Magus (spell dancer)

It was too perfect to pass up.

Before I do, I just want to say I am so grateful for everyone making all these amazing characters, this was truly a tough choice. I was afraid my basic idea wouldn’t catch interest, and am glad to see it did. Thank you all!

I dont know how to get a character sheet on to here. I have it here ;

https://www.myth-weavers.com/sheets/?id=2845465

Hello all! We had our divine caster have to step down, and are now looking for a new one!

Same build rules as the beginning, they haven’t leveled up or even had their first encounter. Still in the stage-setting part of the opening, so feel free to throw something together and let me see it! Will pick sometime next week, maybe early if I find something I like.

Liberty's Edge

Working on modifying this alias to be a Paladin Hospitaler/Warrior of holy light. Should have it done this evening.

Liberty's Edge

Ok, I think it is done. A pretty significant healer once he gets some levels, just heal skill at first level.

Grand Lodge

Divine caster I have a couple of those.

I am looking to build a Lunar-Mystery Stargazer Oracle with the Shadowbound Curse who worships Selûne. Would this be welcome?

How long until you intend to close recruitment, @GM of the Moon? Thanks!

Thinking I’ll let it last until Wednesday of next week, at the latest. Might pick earlier if we get a good selection of applicants in, but I’ll let people know a day ahead of time.

Alright, I need equipment, descriptions, backstory, and answering your 20 questions. Those will come tomorrow - in the meantime, Sasha Shardlight is a work-in-progress but mechanically mostly done.

RPG Superstar 2009 Top 16

I was also considering a Lunar Mystery Oracle, but given that DarkOne7141981 suggested it first, I may instead go with a Selûnite Warpriest specifically dispatched by the church to get to the bottom of the sudden silence, and to bring The Lady of Silver's might to bear, should Shar have anything to do with it.

RPG Superstar 2009 Top 16

I know in 3rd Ed Selune had Protection as one of her Domains, would you allow that? If not I'll go with Darkness along with Good for blessings. Otherwise, Good and Protection.

GM wrote:
Selûne: Animal, Chaos, Good, Darkness, Community

These were the ones I decided to use for her.

RPG Superstar 2009 Top 16

Okay, Good and Darkness it is.

@GM of the Moon - In what region are we playing? I'd like to ensure that Sasha is from a reasonable area and that her background makes sense.

Thanks!

I'm not the GM, but no sense making y'all wait. We are south of Baldur's Gate at the moment. We're heading to Amn to meet up with the contact for our first quest/mission/adventure. I think most of the campaign will be on the Sword Coast, mainly around Baldur's Gate and Waterdeep.

Not Amn, but the Friendly Arm Inn, west of the Wood of Sharp Teeth. Amn is farther to the south.

Here’s a good map to use, this is what I’ve been using in my research.

It's a long way from the Moonsea, but I think that's where Sasha will originate. She's made it to the Inn as part of multiple trade caravans, by way of:

Hillsfar to Ashabenford to Arabel to Immersea to Suzail to Proskur to Easting to Iriaebor to Scornubel to Elturel to Baldur's Gate to Friendly Arm Inn.

I'll work on this story a bit tonight, with the twenty questions. Is there anything outside of the boundaries so far?

Oops, I must have gotten confused at some point. Sorry about that.

Grand Lodge

Working on a ratfolk Witch Herb Witch, Hedge Witch, Hex Channeler, who will be raised by Halflings who think he was a Wererat. He worships Selune, but wonders by himself Except for Mortimer his Rat Familiar and intermediary to Mother, his divine Patron of Healing.

I'm still working on the story, but here are the twenty questions. More details to follow.

Twenty Questions:
1. What is your character’s name? Sasha Shardlight (Sasha = a good, human name, Shardlight = worships Selûne) This is not Sasha's given name, but the only one she uses now.

2. How old is your character? 24 - old enough that she should have really started doing something by now, but it has taken her a while to figure out where to start.

3. What would somebody see at first glance (i.e. height, weight, skin color, eye color, hair color, physique, race, and visible equipment)? The young woman before you looks human, a bit heavyset, with two eyes of very different colors. She wears a heavy, hooded cloak over thick black hair and has somewhat pale skin. When she speaks her voice is a low, husky alto full of life and passion. It's likely she has rough edges, but it's hard to tell why...

4. What additional attributes would be noticed upon meeting the character (i.e. Speech, mannerisms)? Sasha is intense and focused. When she speaks it is hard to avoid listening, as she is animated and captivating. It is obvious that she avoids bright light, though, as it appears to hurt both her eyes and her skin. She doesn't like literal spotlights, but thrives as the center of attention otherwise.

5. Where was your character born? Where were you raised? By who? Sasha was born in Hillsfar. Since the city has a history of xenophobia, Sasha's mother tried to hide her baby's half-blood characteristics until she was old enough to leave. In her mid teens Sasha left, taking work with a trade caravan headed to Ashabenford. She's been traveling ever since, mostly heading west towards lands more open to those of different heritages.

6. Who are your parents? Are they alive? What do they do for a living? Sasha's mother was a no-name prostitute about whom Sasha won't speak. It's clear she loved her mom but just as clear that there is no one for her to see back in Hillsfar. Her father was a traveling half-orc, but Sasha doesn't know his name of if he still lives.

7. Do you have any other family or friends? There were lots of kids to the women of the night in Hillsfar, but Sasha never grew close to any of them. She spent her time trying to grow up safely, hide her orcish characteristics, and get out of town.

8. What is your character’s marital status? Kids? Single and not particularly interested in romance.

9. What is your character’s alignment? Chaotic Good - she doesn't like strict, central governments and wants to be a hero.

10. What is your character’s moral code? Sasha isn't too focused on a code, but she likes the idea of freedom and a life in the wild, living under the stars, and worshipping her goddess, Selûne.

11. Does your character have goals? She'd like to establish a small community for outcasts who can live in peace, free from those who hate them.

12. Is your character religious? Yes, based on several powerful experiences during her travels. She worships Selûne and prefers working at night, under her goddess' watchful eye.

13. What are your character’s personal beliefs? People should be free and not judged for things they cannot help. Good people have to work together to make things better. The beauty of the night sky is the inspiration that she needs to try and guide her steps.

14. Does your character have any personality quirks (i.e. anti-social, arrogant, optimistic, paranoid)? In spite of her hope and optimism, Sasha has been burned enough times that she tends to be distrustful of others. She fights the tendency, but in combat it is too much of a habit to prevent it from impacting her.

15. Why does your character adventure? Why did your character accept the job? Sasha was never welcome in Hillsfar, so she left. She's been traveling ever since, seeking a place where she can make a home for herself. Adventuring was necessary - Sasha never really had any other good options.

16. How does your character view his/her role as an adventurer? Sasha is not afraid to fight, but knows her strengths lie elsewhere. She hopes to become a powerful magic-user and an accepted member of the clergy of Selûne. She can heal, but prefers to beat heads first.

17. Does your character have any distinguishing marks (birth-marks, scars, deformities)? Sasha has many interconnected tattoos on her body of many different kinds. Each one has a story and she believes they give her luck. (She's right!)

18. How does your character get along with others? Sasha wants to trust people but has difficulty. She is willing to give of herself, but not usually until after they show that she has her best interests in mind too.

19. Is there anything that your character hates? Racism, those who use it against others, tyrants and would-be-despots.

20. Is there anything that your character fears? That her heritage (mixed orcish) makes her something of a monster. She never mentions it and hides her heritage at all times, but deep down inside she worries that her temper and passion are signs that she's not as much of a human as she wishes she was.

Working on the story and questions now, but presenting Luna Atarau, a member of the Silverstars, Warpriests of Selune, dispatched to meet those recruited to investigate, and provide healing and martial expertise, especially should the church's fears that Sharrans may have something to do with this, turn out to be founded.

Capable of providing healing, both with the ability to spontaneously convert unused spells to cure spells, and a trait ability that allows her to restore hp the non-magical use of the Heal Skill (can use Treat Deadly Wound as a standard action without a healer's kit)

As of 2nd level she'll also be able to use Fervor to heal, and channel as of 4th level.

20 Questions:

1. What is your character’s name?
Luna Atarau
2. How old is your character?
23

3. What would somebody see at first glance (i.e. height, weight, skin color, eye color, hair color, physique, race, and visible equipment)?
Tall and powerfully built with a statuesque presence, her near flawless marble white skin, a clear sign of her nocturnal nature, almost glows in dim light, long raven black hair stark in contrast, with glittering motes, reminiscent of stars seeming to sparkle in her hair when she moves. Dark grey, intense eyes intently take in her surroundings, a serious expression tending to be her default. More often than not, she is seen wearing her well kept scale armor over what appears to be a uniform, giving a somewhat military feel to her presence, amplified by the shield usually on her back, and the stylized heavy mace and sickle that hang from her waist.

4. What additional attributes would be noticed upon meeting the character (i.e. Speech, mannerisms)?
One observing her for a bit would notice her perfect posture and almost military stance, as well as her excellent physical condition, and a tendency to prefer the shadows, often avoiding direct sunlight if possible.

5. Where was your character born? Where were you raised? By who?
Born and Raised in Waterdeep by her parents, her birth during the full moon, coupled with signs and portents observed by the Priests of Selune, resulted in the Church’s involvement early in her life, and her subsequent indoctrination into the worship of Selune

6. Who are your parents? Are they alive? What do they do for a living?
Her father is a blacksmith in Waterdeep, her mother a Captain of the Knights of the Half Moon, the official guard of the House of the Moon in Waterdeep.

7. Do you have any other family or friends?
No other family. She does have a few friends though she is rarely in one place for very long, so meaningful friendships are few and far between.

8. What is your character’s marital status? Kids?
Single no children

9. What is your character’s alignment?
Chaotic Good.

10. What is your character’s moral code?
Protect those who face the dangers of the night, uphold the values of Selune, help those in need

11. Does your character have goals?
To move up within the ranks of her order, travel and explore.

12. Is your character religious?
Yes, she’s been attached to the Church of Selune pretty much since birth.

13. What are your character’s personal beliefs?
The world is in need of people who seek to help and protect others. Darkness is not to be feared, but to be fought back when it presents a danger, or embraced when safe to do so.

14. Does your character have any personality quirks (i.e. anti-social, arrogant, optimistic, paranoid)?

While not anti-social, she’s more accustomed to her own company, or formal interaction than casual contact. She has a hard time not being constantly vigilant. She also very much prefers the night, sleepin in whenever possible, and is not a fan of the sun.

15. Why does your character adventure? Why did your character accept the job?
She was actually dispatched by her order to make sure the adventurers that accepted the quest have ample divine might and healing in aid, and to properly investigate the sudden silence from Silvermoon Glade.

16. How does your character view his/her role as an adventurer?
It is both a job and a calling, giving her a deep sense of purpose.

17. Does your character have any distinguishing marks (birth-marks, scars, deformities)?
She has a thin scar from a bladed whip that slashed a diagonal cut across her face. Her most notable feature may be one of her tattoos, a mark of office and her position, a progression of the phases of the moon in dark ink across her forehead.

18. How does your character get along with others?
She tends to get along with others relatively well, though she is somewhat reserved until she’s comfortable with those around her. She has a very strong protective streak.

19. Is there anything that your character hates?
Sharrans and anything remotely related to Shar.

20. Is there anything that your character fears?
Not living up to her potential, since she is aware that she has been touched by her goddess her whole life.

All I need to finish is equipment. In the meantime, below is Sasha's RP-details and backstory:

Character Sheet

Path from Hillsfar to Friendly Arm Inn:
Hillsfar to Ashabenford to Arabel to Immersea to Suzail to Proskur to Easting to Iriaebor to Scornubel to Elturel to Baldur's Gate to Friendly Arm Inn

Description:
The young woman before you looks human, a bit heavyset, with two eyes of very different colors. She wears a heavy, hooded cloak over thick black hair and has somewhat pale skin. When she speaks her voice is a low, husky alto full of life and passion. It's likely she has rough edges, but it's hard to tell why...

Personality:

It is obvious that she avoids bright light, though, as it appears to hurt both her eyes and her skin. She doesn't like literal spotlights, but thrives as the center of attention otherwise.

Character Traits (and Background Story):
Almost Human - Growing up in Hillsfar, a historically xenophobic city on the Moonsea, Sasha learned very early to hide her orcish-features, and she's good at it. It has become such a habit that she never really publicly shares her heritage, though she does hate racism and the poor treatment many experience at the hands of certain factions throughout Faerun.

Reckless - When Sasha decides to do something, it is wholeheartedly and without hesitation, including when it comes to moving. She's not exactly a dancer, nor the most naturally graceful, but she's learned the value of dodging and balancing and does so better than most would expect, given her heavy-set frame.

Shadowbound - Though Sasha believes it is part of her orcish heritage, her excellent night vision and poor day vision is actually a result of her oracular curse. She is bound to the night shadows by her connection to Selûne and the Lunar mysteries the goddess represents. As she matures and grows stronger in her connection to the divine her magical powers and sight will improve, unlike the experience of most half-orcs.

Fate's Favored - Sasha has always been a bit luckier than most. Growing up in the slums of HIllsfar, she was no stranger to gambling halls and other games of chance. She's been lucky at critical moments more than once, and she leans into her luck whenever she can. "Good luck is just one throw of the dice away!"

Shaman's Apprentice and Sacred Tattoo - As soon as she was old enough Sasha left Hillsfar, intent on finding a friendlier place to live. She signed on to travel with a trade caravan leaving the city and befriended a heavily tattooed barbarian-scald. She got her first tattoo under Henri's guidance and was hooked. Henri made her work hard, and long hours, but always rewarded her with both his advice, friendship, and (when they had time) another tattoo. At this point Sasha can endure tough times better than most and has numerous tattoos all over her body. She's not shy about them and readily shows them, talks about them, and tells the stories of the experiences they commemorate.

Fey Thoughts - While traveling through the forests of Cormanthor Sasha first heard the songs of the fey. Warned of their mischievous nature by Henri and the other caravan guards she resisted their lure for several nights, but as they passed the deepest part of the woods she couldn't help herself any longer. That night she snuck away from the caravan to try and catch a glimpse of whatever sang the captivating music. Keeping low to the ground Sasha crawled to within several yards of a group of pixies in a faerie circle of mushrooms. She watched them for several minutes, entranced and entertained by the diminutive figures dancing and singing.

Primal Companion - The low rumble of a big cat's growl startled Sasha out of her reverie. A rather large tiger, who she later named Pheliks, had settled beside her, watching closely too. However, the pixies had been a distraction, while other fey tried to trap Sasha. Pheliks noticed, warned Sasha, and together the two broke the magic circle being used to trap them. Though she had no idea why, Sasha seemed to understand that Pheliks was friendly and helpful, so she brought him back to the caravan and made sure he behaved. They've been traveling together ever since.

Stargazer/Lunar - After traveling for some time the caravan disbanded in Immersea, leaving Sasha free and adrift. One evening she found the House of the Lady and met the leader of the shrine to Selûne. After spending all night learning about the goddess Sasha realized what she'd been missing most of her life - a purpose and patron worth dedicating herself to serve. Her oracular powers manifested and with the priestess' guidance Sasha began studying and learning more about the Moonmaiden.

Guiding Star - Since leaving Immersea and heading west Sasha has learned to travel using the night sky. Somehow she just...knows where she is, and her magic is more powerful in the dark of night. It makes her more confident and brave.

Drawback:
Loner - Sasha has been alone since she was very young. As she hid her heritage from those around her in Hillsfar and then traveled west with only Henri (briefly) and Pheliks for company she has learned to be independent and comfortable alone.

Besides, she thinks it's less painful when you don't trust people - then they can't betray you...

How’s everyone’s progress going? Think I might pick at the end of today, unless anyone needs more time. Want to get the show back on the road!

Outside the response to the questions would you want additional backstory?

A few paragraphs with a little bit of detail wouldn’t hurt. I just use the questions to hit important bullet points.

Okay, I'll put that together in a couple hours.

Are we level one or level two? I see the post by Herkymr the Silly and am not sure if I understand why they are level two.

I'll get Sasha's gear purchased this evening so you can review everything all at once.

Oh I didn’t even notice that. Yeah they’re level 1, haven’t gotten far at all.

Herkymr, why are you level 2? And do you have a background?

Alright, everything is done, including gear. Sasha is ready for play!

Good luck to everyone!
