Ulricha rolls her shoulders, cracking her neck fro m one side to the other, and in the process, almost imperceptibly nodding her understanding to Alice.
Vandomir Jarvis |
Xandarian Quartermain |
"Okay, miss", Xandarian said, as he cautiously approached the bloody woman. "We're just trying to find out what happened. Can I approach? Can I offer healing?"
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (1) + 21 = 22
Boffy hunches behind the paladin's neck, unsure what to do, wondering what the bloody woman is.
(Boffy) Knowledge (religion): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14
Jorrast Feorte |
Jorrast rolls back to his feet, watching the blood with interest. He hears the warning from Alice and nods.
Then he smiles at the lady. "Hey gorgeous! Interesting trick with the blood. Very useful too. I'm called Jorrast. What may we call you?" Diplomacy assist?: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19
Quince Medvyed |
Quince cocks his head to the side silently mouthing, "Gorgeous?" He makes a thinking frown and shrugs letting those who were recently trying to slay her and know more of the situation take the lead.
GM Wolf |
Her demeanor seems to shift she seems interested. As she speaks the blood collects fully into her form. You can see it is painful. With an analyzing look she replies sweetly, "Arella... You may call me Arella. Yes you can approach, I am not hurt, so no healing is necessary. So what do you mean by, 'What Happened'? I am glad you were able to kill my jailor. The deamon with the tentacles. My state perhaps, to put it simply I was slain by a Blood Monk and became his minion. Trades happened and now my master is the deamon above tentacle dude which happened decades ago. But I am sure that is not what you are asking... is it? Perhaps we can make a deal? Destory my master and the golden bracelet on his arm to negate the slave bond. What terms would you ask of me?"
Xandarian Quartermain |
Boffy whispers in Xandarian's ear that he has no idea who or what the bloody woman is.
"I would guess that destroying the golden bracelet would also destroy you. It sounds like you have been through a lot."
Ulricha the Unkillable |
"I would think the bracelet has some magic to control his slave. Those who would enslave another deserve a slow death." Ulricha growls
Jorrast Feorte |
Jorrast sheaths his rapier and grins. "He may deserve a slow death. But he'll no doubt have lots of his minions around him. We'll have to give him a quick one. Anything we need to know about destroying the bracelet? Any issues with simply pounding it into slag? Will it release others?"
GM Wolf |
She relays as she moves among your group, "I don't have detect magic or spellcraft to determine its properties. I believe fire has no effect upon it. Others? Oh you mean the possessed? No, the bracelet is just keyed to me. My master is possessing the leader of this place. As his shadow demon is in the mage and his concubine is in the queen. The deacon is in charge of the septic deamoms. The first three are empowering as the same as the septic demons are empowering the guards. Though we should set terms of repayment if you free me. I could even distract the independent agent working with the soldiers."

As he lifts the scepter from the ground the flames die down and he states, "That was rougher than expected, thanks for the support Quince. Let's just have me heal off the rest."
Quince Medvyed |
Jorne Fyrestone Stavian |
He walks over to Quince looking over him into the room to see and hear what is going on. He finishes speaking with Quince, as they can easily hear, "Yeah I need to get some fire resist. I didn't know the damage would increase so much. But at least the augments will last for hours! What's going on in here?"
Ulricha the Unkillable |
"She is enslaved by the demon in control here. She offers her aid in exchange for his death...a fair trade I think." Ulricha states bluntly, indicating the exotic woman.
Quince Medvyed |
"A demon in charge. Figures. A fine trade. You don't appear a prisoner. What power is held over you?" Quince looks the woman over.
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (14) + 14 = 28
Jorne Fyrestone Stavian |
He asks, "Should I go poke the demon king?"
Xandarian Quartermain |
"Fuçking fiends!" Xandarian cursed. "As a caydenite, I can't stand enslavement of any kind! I wish I had some blacksmith tools to attempt to cut that damn collar off!!"
Quince Medvyed |
Quince frowns nodding as he catches on. "If you can be forced to serve. Then you can be forced to fight us. Is there a safe place for you to sit this out, at least until . . ." Quince looks up at Jorne, "Until the demon king has been sufficiently poked." He looks back at the unexpected ally.
Jorne Fyrestone Stavian |
He offers with a chuckle, "I go poke it, then when she gets summoned I will draw her away. Then you can drop the hammer."
Quince Medvyed |
Quince nods. "What is the quickest way to cut the head of this snake?"
Ulricha the Unkillable |
"Does he have any weaknesses you know of?"
Xandarian Quartermain |
"Let's hurry", Xandarian nods. "Desna's Luck in this place will only hold off the fiendish hordes for so long."
GM Wolf |
She shakes her head as she thinks, then stops as realization dawns on her face. She states, "He shivers, like he can't get warm enough, so either fire or cold damage. I know he is resistant but not immune to them. Also cutting the head from the man in charge would force my master from his connection. He would then reform his natural form. Killing his concubine would unsettle him."
Xandarian Quartermain |
"Then let us end this Shiverer, and free this lady and this land of another great evil", Xandarian says with determination.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (2) + 21 = 23
Jorrast Feorte |
"So Arella, what does his concubine look like?"
Alice Emmington |
I have returned from Japan.
Alice shakes her head, possessing people is unsettling, but possessing those in power brings much more pressure on the common folk.
"Striking first is well and all, but in that case let's try applying nonlethal force. They're not in control of their actions. If they pass out, we might force out the possessing entities, and take them down then and there."
Ulricha the Unkillable |
"Assuming they don't then decide to possess one of us instead." Ulricha mutters.
Jorne Fyrestone Stavian |
He asks and looks among the group, "Who has protection from evil?"
Xandarian Quartermain |
"I can cast it three times a day", the paladin reports.
Alice Emmington |
(facepalms...all spell slots filled, PFE communal would have been perfect)
Jorne Fyrestone Stavian |
Looking at Alice obviously she is offset by something, he asks, "Everything alright Alice? So with three protections from evil... who..."
---
Once everything is set up he goes down the stairs to poke the bear.
GM Wolf |
Soon you hear the sounds of battle and it seems that your new friend is summoned. The sounds move from down below out into the courtyard. You also hear the soldiers fleeing.
With three protections from evil, Xandarian, Alice, and Ulricha charge into the belly of the beast.... yes or no? Quince around?

With three protections from evil, Xandarian, Alice, and Ulricha charge into the belly of the beast.... yes or no? Quince around?
Heck yes! At least for Xandarian and Boffy.
Alice Emmington |
At the mention of but 3 protection from evil, Alice chimes in.
"For those that would stay longer, we can do that. However, i can ask for the aid of a hound archon, and increase our fighting numbers. It would protect us from possession, and provide the benefits of the protection from evil spell, as long as we stay near it. That is to say, within 10 feet of it."
"We'd have a little under a minute, before it would leave the material plane again, however. Whoever did not have the protection from evil, would need to leave before that time."
Quince Medvyed |
Quince nods, Let's get to it then. He fidgits with his armor and gets ready and follows toward the action.
Ulricha the Unkillable |
Gripping her axe tightly, Ulricha gives a grim nod, ready to leap heedlessly into battle with whatever lay ahead.
GM Wolf |
You find the possessed waiting for you in the 'throne room', the next being somewhat stirred by Jorne as he flees with a good amount of them following.
Then the group springs forward rushing into the throne room. Do you want to close the doors? Any other actions you would like to do?
You find there are the baron, baroness, wizard, and the Leukodaemon.
This human-shaped beast has a horse’s skull for a head. It walks on cracked hooves and bears the rotting wings of a carrion bird.
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10 Jorne

1d20 + 11 ⇒ (9) + 11 = 20 Leukodaemon
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27 seismadaemon
You may act this round as they are surprised by your appearance.
Round 2
The Leukodaemon holds up a composite longbow made of bone and pulls the string back twice to release bone arrows at Quince and Xandarian.

Xandarian Quartermain |
What room is this all going down?
Alice Emmington |
Alice knows the two frontliners will quickly engage the enemy. While Ulricha seems very sturdy, and Xandarian perhaps a little easier to hit, Ulricha is likely their strongest weapon here.
Alice hexes Ulricha with protective luck, and chants to extend it to 2 rounds.
In which case the Leukodaemon rerolls.
Demon reroll 1: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (17) + 18 = 35
Demon reroll 2: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (1) + 13 = 14
At least 1 less hit. Go beat the snot out of them, Ulricha!
GM Wolf |
The doors to the throne room are wide open. You see the adjoining doors which likely lead out to the court yard open as well. You maybe even see the soldiers going after Jorne.
I moved Jorrast so he would be within range, but not seeing his speed I don't know if he can get there and fire his spell off. If you are trying to snipe from stealth I believe you need cover... so maybe even more movement to the wall?
I am assuming at the beginning of Round 1 you are at least 10 feet into the throne room.
Surprise Round
Alice Hexes Ulricha. The group moves into the throne room by 10 feet.
Round 1
Ulricha charges in smashing the possessed guard before her. Jorrast sneakily moves along the wall.

Ulricha continues to wail on the soldier, it falls before her.
The Leukodaemon hits Ulricha with its first arrow. Fort DC 19 for disease, and 19 damage before DR.
The wizard looks around and has a maniacal grin on his face as he releases a spell at Ulricha.
Go ahead and catch up and post for this round. I now need to look up a few things and it is late.

Round 2
The wizard steps forward and points at Ulricha an electrical charge bursts from her back and then it arcs to hit the rest of you. The crackling energy burning through flesh.
Reflex DC 21 or take : 12d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 3, 6, 4, 3, 2, 1, 5, 2, 5, 4) = 42
The baroness casts a spell upon Quince. Will DC 18
Your target is filled with lust and desire for a single creature or object as designated by you at the time of casting. That creature or object must be within the spell’s range and perceivable by the target of the spell. The target is filled with the compulsion to rush to the subject of its lust and passionately kiss or caress that subject on its next turn, taking no other actions. If the target would not normally have lustful feelings toward the designated creature or object, it receives a +4 bonus on its saving throw.
The baron moves up to join the fray. He moves forward and with a jump and a back strike he goes for Ulricha's head, then he gets up to Xandarian and slices with his longsword again. Improved Spring Attack.
