Mites 1 and 2 go after Erik with their daggers.

Mites 3 and 4 pull out darts and throw them at Adela.

The Mite Leader and his tick move forward and attack Rhiann.

The leader's trident sinks into Rhiann's side, drawing blood. The tick also bites through her armor, latching onto her and drinking away at her blood.
Rhiann takes 1 constitution damage and is grappled. Due to its attach ability, the tick is not grappled. In addition, Rhiann must made a DC 15 Fortitude Save against the tick's disease.

Mimek moves forward and makes another stab at Mite 1.

Once again, luck is against him.

"Rhiann!" Alyssa looks worriedly as the giant tick manages to trap Rhiann in its mouth. Hoping to help her get free, she uses her magic to conjure a coating of grease over her armor.

Casting Grease on Rhiann's armor for a +10 bonus on Escape Artist and CMB checks to escape a grapple.

Adela decides there are too many people too close to each other to risk her dubious aim, she drops her crossbow and readies her morningstar and shield.

Taking a deep breath as she prepares to wade into melee.

Erik takes another stab at the mite...

Rhainn's body shudders as not only does the leader's strike connect, but the tick's wicked bite fills her with both pain, and the sickening feeling of her blood being drained from her body.

Feeling its grip loosen slightly as Alysa casts her spell, she tries desperately to escape, trying to slip free of the giant insect's grasp.

Rhiann barely manages to wriggle out of the tick's grasp thanks to Alyssa's grease, but she feels something working into her.

Meanwhile, Erik's strike lands, piercing the mite's hide and bringing it down. Erik steps over its fallen corpse and locks onto the second mite.

Having slipped free, Rhiann takes a step back, bringing her weapon down on the vile bug, despite definitely feeling unwell.

Adela takes a 5' step back behind Rhiann and casts Cure light wounds on her.

"I'll do my best." Rhiann replies over her shoulder, a grin coming to her lips despite the dire situation.

Rhiann can't attack because escaping and attacking are both standard actions.
The mite next to Erik lashes out at him with its dagger.

Erik parries the attack with his rapier.

One of the other mites runs up to join its comrade, intending to also attack Erik. However, this provokes an opportunity attack from Rhiann.

Rhiann's fauchard quickly relieves Mite 3 of its head.

Mite 4 pulls out another dart and throws it at Adela.

The dart once again manages to find a weakness in Adela's armor.

The mite leader and his tick continue to go after Rhiann.

Rhiann is able to deflect both attacks, using the environment to her advantage.

Annoyed at the pest that keeps throwing darts at her, and at the revolting tick Adela takes a 5' step forward to stand beside Rhiann, and swings her morningstar at Tickleback.

Feeling some satisfaction as the spiked weapon crunches into the Mite leader.

Taking a step to her left, Rhiann brings her weapon around in a low, powerful slice aims at the tick's head, even as Adela goes high, smashing the creature's rider.

Erik cuts down the mite and locks his gaze onto the trident-wielding leader, who Adela just struck a telling blow against. Meanwhile, Rhiann strikes at the tick, beheading it.

The tick's rider manages to successfully dismount and land on his feet as his steed perishes.

Seeing fhe dangerous tick go down with Rhiann's powerful blow, Alyssa focuses on the rider instead, and launches another ball of acid towards it.

Alyssa overcompensates while attempting to make sure she doesn't hit Adela with her acid, and the mite leader dodges the acid.

The mite leader's last remaining subordinate steps up to join him, and they both stab at Adela with their weapons.

Mimek moves on top of one of the mite's corpses so he can attack the mite leader without getting in Rhiann's or Erik's way.

Rhainn moves in lashing out with her fauchard at the other goblin, as Adela smashes the chief's head in.

Alyssa moves so she can get a better shot at the remaining mite, and lobs another ball of acid at it, careful not to hit any of her companions.

Adela strikes the mite leader in the head, leaving quite a nasty mark. Unfortunately, none of the rest of the party manages to land a hit, although Rhiann could have if she didn't have to worry about the cramped quarters and the leader getting in her way. The leader is giving partial soft cover to Mite 4, increasing its AC against Rhiann's strikes by 2.

The leader stabs at Rhiann in an attempt to avenge his tick, while the other mite turns and stabs at Erik.

Keeping her shield up Adela removes some of the damage she's taken. "I think better armor is needed." She sighs in resignation.

Who is wounded? Should Adela use a Channel? She does have Selective channel so she can avoid the Mites.

Seeing how dangerous the mite leader seems to be with its trident, and how hard it's turning out to be for the others to bring down, Alyssa repeats the same spell she cast on Rhiann's armor, but this time aimed at the creature's own trident.

Using Grease targeting the leader's trident. Reflex DC 16 or drop it.

The mite leader parries Erik's rapier with his trident, barely managing to keep a hold of it as Alyssa covers it with grease.

Looks like HP damage it's just you and me. Erik and I both have ability damage, and I'm diseased but probably don't know it yet.

Just managing to deflect the mite leader's strike, and seeing how skillfully he fights, Rhiann's expression is one of utter focus, calling upon all of her skill and training to step backward, falling into position for a perfect strike, bringing her fauchard in a flawlessly executed falling strike, despite the cramped space, right down the center of his bulbous head. "I've had enough of you!"

Adela knows she shouldn't but she has a big smile when Rhiann ends Tickleback, advancing she flanks the last mite with Eric, hoping to end the whole unpleasant scuffle.

Swinging her spiked weapon and making solid contact with that smile still lingering on her face.

And good for Mimek, he tried his heart out to get his own revenge.

Rhiann's blow splits open the head of the mite leader, dropping it to the ground.

The last remaining mite, disheartened by the death of its leader, tries to flee, but it drops its guard, enabling Adela to smash it into the ground.

Combat over.

Mimek turns his attention to the statuette on the table. "Old Sharptooth!" he says, picking it up. "Chief Sootscales will want this." He then looks over to the greased trident, which fell out of the leader's hands when he perished. "And that trident looks like a good weapon. Can Mimek have that?"

As he searches the room, Erik replies to Mimek "For now, but we'll sort the split out later. We're not out of trouble yet..."

At Mimek's request, Alyssa quickly dismisses the coat of grease on the trident so the kobold can pick it up without trouble, and also examines it for magic, just in case.

The only magic in the room is what the party brought in; the trident is non-magical.

"Mimek took no wounds in the fight," the kobold says as he takes up the trident, "and you already healed me of the wounds I took in captivity."

"While this one might have been in charge, I'm sure there are more of them down her, so we should keep moving." Rhiann says, cleaning blood off the blade of her fauchard. "Good work everyone." she says, momentarily making a face of discomfort.

Having found nothing of interest searching, Erik nods sharply in reply to the proposal to keep moving. Taking his usual point position, he prowls quietly up the opposite tunnel they came in, wary for the foe...

"Moving on sounds good" Alyssa says as she nods in reply "but maybe we should check out that table first?"

Alyssa gestures towards the table and moves closer, looking at it. "They seem to have built some kind of map on top of it, possibly for these tunnels? That'd give us a better idea of where we're going. And the burlap sack might hold the rest of the things they pilfered, like Svetlana's ring."

She'll take a good look at the map to see if she can make any sense of it, before reaching for the sack and searching its contents.

Walking over to the table as Alyssa reminds them of it, Rhiann studies the map, comparing its details to what she remembers of the tunnels they've encountered so far, to see if it was indeed a mapping of these tunnels.

Part of the map does indeed line up with the tunnels, but it also covers the surrounding area.

Mimek also looks down at the map and the other things on the table. "Here's the mite tunnels, and there's Sootscale Caverns. They definitely know our territory well. And the paper is a list of the treasures kobolds and mites have taken from each other in our war; they took our Sacred Statue and lots of spears and coins, while we've taken magic dust, lots of coins, and a shiny human ring."

Alyssa opens the burlap sack and finds the spears and coins Mimek mentioned had been taken from the kobolds; there are twelve kobold-sized spears, 193 cp, 120 sp, and 32 gp.

"That ring, we believe the mites have taken it from a friend of ours. Would it be a problem for us to have it back?" Rhiann asks Mimek honestly.

"Tartuk - our shaman - might make a problem, but with everything you've done for us, I doubt he'd have much support."

"Alright, let's move on, and when we get you back to your people we'll see if we can make an exchange." Rhiann replies, gathering up the sack and moving to follow Erik.

"Agreed, let's move on. We can search this place properly after we have finished the mites..."

The party advances down the passageway to the northeast. As they round the bend, they see two mites. The mites look at the party and see Mimek holding their leader's trident, and they call out in shock and anger. Four more calls can be heard. The mites are ready to fight.

Erik steps forward, tossing his rapier to his left hand. He pulls a chakram, and whips it at one of the mites. Then he tosses his rapier back to his right hand.

Erik's chakram strikes down the mite he's targeting, but Rhiann overcompensates for Adela and Mimek being in the way and her arrow sails over its target's head. The attack barely missed due to the +4 soft cover bonus to AC.
