(I'm awake between 8 am to 10 pm EDT (UTC-4 hours) so roughly 1300 to 0300 hours, GMT.)
Howdy. If you're a member of one of my games, then here are a few rules I'd like you to follow:
1. Please post at least once a day.
2. Under your name, please add a stat block. Most important stats:
- Hit Points
- AC
- Saving Throws
- Perception Bonus
3. Any skill with the Secret tag should be rolled privately. If I show the DC, feel free to make the roll openly. Otherwise, there are 2 ways to do this in my games:
- You can say which skill and which bonus you want to apply. (Example: "I use Occultism +5 to investigate the skull's mystic origin.")
- Or you spoiler your dice roll and everyone sticks to the honor system of not opening it.
If you haven't added Pathfinder specific equipment, I suggest you look at the >PFS 2 Society Rules<, in particular the Pathfinder Training section.
Once you have your character selected, please go to RPG Chronicles and post your character's details there >Sign Up Page<

GM,
I am bringing a complex character to this table, so, a little head's up on upcoming adjudication.
1) Saoc Astrology
2) Ancestors Mystery
3) Glean Lore as relative to Andoletta
1) Saoc Astrology
This is mostly a formatting challenge for me to present to you clearly, but with three daily uses and rolling a "weird" die along with a skill check (1d8), it has the potential to cause some confusion. This is the "easiest" of the issues however.
2) Ancestors Mystery
I will do my best to handle the timing of the Ancestor switches (for example, during encounter mode, the switch happens at the end of turn, not beginning of turn - subtle but powerful difference there!). The questions I'd like to settle ahead of time are actions which are not entirely clear which ancestor permits / interferes with which. Here is my list of "non-interfering" actions (ones that I believe are neither considered a "Strike" / "Perception and Skill Action" / "Cast a Spell"):
a) Radiant Wayfinder
b) Enveloping Light Tattoo
c) Feather Token, Fan
d) Necklace of Fireballs
e) Sustain a Spell
Assuming there is agreement there (no interference triggers), what do you think about Spiritual Weapon?
Q) Does casting it satisfy or perturb her Martial and/or Magical ancestors?
Q) What about Sustaining it?
3) Glean Lore relative to Andoletta
Not quite Bardic Lore, but in the same neighborhood. Specifically "The GM sets the DC (similar to the DC to Recall Knowledge), potentially adjusting the DC of the check for topics far removed from your mystery." I guess I'd like to know ahead of time whether attempting this check is "possible" or even "reasonable" without greatly stepping into a high probability of critical failure. For reference ahead of time, here is the god's profile:
Called Grandmother Crow, Andoletta represents consolation, respect, and security. Andoletta makes a clear distinction between guilt and innocence: there is no in-between. For those falsely accused or who show signs of redemption, she offers a path back to the light. That path is never an easy one, but it is one worth walking, and she stands beside those who make the trek. For the truly wicked and those who show no remorse, she has no mercy. For these reasons, her likeness is often found in courts, where she can watch over and ensure fairness to those accused of crimes. Andoletta also places great value on respect for the dead and the protection of children. To offer solace to the bereaved is true kindness and compassion. Children are slates with tremendous potential for good—if they can be guided and kept safe from evil.
When she appears to mortals, Grandmother Crow does so as an older woman, gray-haired, wrinkled, and with keen, knowing eyes. She carries a walking stick and wears a cape of black crow feathers across her shoulders, giving the appearance of large, folded wings. Those who appeal to Andoletta include elders, the conflicted, the bereaved, the falsely accused, investigators, and judges.
Category: Empyreal Lords
Edicts: Respect elders, instill good virtues in children, seek and allow redemption
Anathema: Hold a grudge, mock the dead, pass judgment hastily or carelessly
Areas of Concern: consolation, respect, and security
Follower Alignments: LG, NG
Pantheons: The Enlightened Scholar's Path
Cheers!

Hello Tao! I've played in a PbP game with you once, long ago. Your hireling was Tao's spirited younger sister, I believe. I had to research Ancestor Oracles afterward to fully grasp what the class does. I eventually ported my Flames Oracle to 2e and I'm having fun burning things with her.
Now, as to the points you raised:
1) No problems here. Just remember to keep track of the 3 times per day limit. These specials usually last for 2 days of in-game time.
2) As you say, Ancestor spirits play a big part on when they change and how they influence your actions. IMO, an action can satisfy multiple ancestors.
a) Radiant Wayfinder - I don't know what this does and it isn't on Articles of Nethys. If it's a wayfinder that generates light, that would satisfy Spellcasting.
b) Enveloping Light Tattoo - Spellcasting for round 1 as you're generating the light spell effect. Afterward the ancestors don't care.
c) Feather Token, Fan - Spellcasting if you use the gust of wind option
d) Necklace of Fireballs - Spellcasting (if you need Trick Magic Item, then also Skillful)
e) Sustain a Spell - Spellcasting
Spiritual Weapon
- Casting satisfies Spellcasting and Martial
- Sustaining satisfies Martial (because you're making a Strike) and Spellcasting (see e above)
3) Depends on the situation, but it would be something your family ancestry would reasonably be exposed to and experience. If we deal with planar experiences, for example, it would be difficult for you (unless you have a lot of planar explorers in your backstory.)

Regarding #2, it sounds like you are taking an “inclusive” approach, in that, if one or more ancestors are “satisfied”, then the others will not interfere with the appeasing action, meaning no flat check for, say, Spiritual Weapon unless the Skilled Ancestors are predominating.
Excellent, and frankly, something I had not anticipated.
The rest seems reasonable too, thanks for your pre-adjudication!

I'm taking a few lessons from the Wizard School revamp. Some good discussions reminded me how hard it is to fit a single spell within one school of magic. (quick: what school does Cure Light Wounds/Heal belong to: Conjuration, Evocation, Necromancy?)
I'm of the opinion that if you can add it to one category, you have satisfied the general requirements.

Jesselle. She has also had a Laurel and a Morosino. There are a few other names. Years ago for Council of Thieves I created a "child gang" that roamed the streets and impressed themselves unto the Westcrown Rebels, copying their organizational decisions via play, and am enlisting the names used for those NPCs here.
Tao has a handful of cousin / sister / brother "hirelings" and I try to choose a different one each time.

Hello everyone. Please add your information to the >RPG Chronicles< page if you haven't already.
Feel free to check into the >Gameplay Thread<. We start on September 4, but feel free to introduce your characters now. You are in the elven nation of Kyonin.
>And add your character icon on Slide 2< in a single and double row marching order.

![]() |

3 Glyphs to share, btw.
Cure Light Wounds?! Man! I haven't heard that in ages!! :)

![]() |

Mork the Orc reporting for duty. RPG chronicles updated. Character icon added to slides.
Marching Order: Mork is a melee/range Thaumaturge (amulet and chalice). He's happy being near the front. I figure the Champion and Barbarian wanna be IN front, so I put Mork 3rd-ish. But please feel free to push him forward or back if your PC has a strong preference. Mork is very easy going and won't mind at all.
Healing: With the chalice, Mork can help with out-of-combat healing, but looks like we have 2 champions, so we have that well-covered.
Will post a Gameplay intro later today. Looking forward to to the game!
P.S. I also have 1 glyph to share.

Updated Slides and RPG Chronicles for Mandoo.
I am assuming that Emdi will be taking the frontline position, so I've left room for him accordingly in the two lineups.

![]() |

...Emdi is some freak ranged champ, iirc...
...Tao is a multiclass dedicated Paladin with the Retributive Strike reaction (with a reach weapon!) and the Lay on Hands focus spell - her preferred position is in the middle of the pack to keep everyone in her aura of protection / counterattack. That said, if Emdi has half of the party, she will gladly take the other half, back or front...
Emdi?

![]() |

1. I have 3 GM glyphs, and since we don't need any more Hero Points, the GM can have them to use as Villain Points.
2. Emdi is, in fact, a freak ranged champion. But he prefers to be close to the front, so that he can use his champion's reaction on the frontliners. Guarding the party back-to-back with Tao sounds perfect.
3. Emdi will generally use his Champion's Reaction at the first available opportunity (Ranged Reprisal with his shortbow). The only reason he wouldn't is if there's another particularly vulnerable PC also in range who might take a subsequent strike. Emdi has a buckler, and may raise it from time to time, but won't Shield Block unless he doesn't have a target for champion's reaction.

![]() |

To be honest, the build isn't great, mechanically. Champions don't have enough feats to really support DEX-based characters. I built Emdi way back in 2019, thinking there'd surely be more support in the APG or subsequent books, but ... nope.
He's fine for PFS play and I like his personality, but I don't think I'd replicate the build for a long-term adventure.

![]() |

I tend to agree. I used to play Paladins all the time in my AD&D days but the perks aren't as attractive as before... IIRC, in exchange for a 17 Charisma requirement and an LG alignment restriction: Detect Evil at will, Immune to fear, turn undead as a cleric 2 levels lower, spells at lvl 10 I think, Holy Sword, Warhorse... Lay on Hands...

![]() |

He could probably work well as a Fighter with Champion Dedication and a weapon swap out - but I have personally not yet committed to rebuilding a character who aged out of the Evolving Destiny level range...

We are all set to start this adventure on September 4th.
There are parts of this game where you can choose the order of events to complete. You are not expected to complete all of them before time is up. To keep things quick and respect your preferences, I'm going to try a mix of stack ranking and first come first serve.
- When I show the list of events, please pick your top 3 options, in order.
- Once 2 people pick the same event (even if it's their 3rd pick) then I'll start on that one immediately, so we don't lose time voting.
- Once the scenario is complete, I'll close voting and assign points to each event. 3 points for your first pick, 2 for the second, and 1 for the third pick.
- I'll sort them afterwards and then pick the one with the most points (or randomly pick in case of ties.)

argh. It appears I forgot to update Isaku's statblock when he leveled up... I'll do it tomorrow...

Bequeathed from another Pathfinder, Tao has the Convention Hero boon, granting her a third Hero Point for this mission.

GM Tiger aka UncleFroggy aka Isaku Beru reported in the Lodge Discussion that he had some family stuff to attend to - I went ahead and botted him this round to buy some time!

I'm back, btw... just need to catch up -- had to rush my dad to the hospital last night. He's stable and responding well to the meds. It's just catching up on sleep (the in-processing especially at 1 am isn't fun) :)

Not sure if this affects the damage (Sneak Attack) or not but with Nakgu being a Barbarian he has Deny Advantage. You aren’t flat-footed to hidden, undetected, or flanking creatures of your level or lower, or creatures of your level or lower using surprise attack.
I also have AoO if that comes into play.

I like to put that ability in my Character Bar to help remind GM, ex:
Half-Orc Barbarian 6 | HP 98/98 | AC: 24 (23 /w Rage) w/ Deny Advantage | F: +13 R: +11, W: +12 | Perception: +12 (E; Low-light) | Default Exploration: Search
I am also working out how to include Reactions in the Character Bar too, still experimenting to find a format I like...

Covered you one last time, as I know what it is like to be "up" in multiple games and then lose a day or two or more... hope that's okay! (You updated botting instructions so was easy). Glad dad is on the mend!

that's fine. I suddenly lost internet at home last night. I usually post ahead when my turn appears to near -- Internet at home was restored this morning so I wonder if that was someone trying to tell me to "GO TO BED!" :)

![]() |

btw, I just realized that I can't use psi burst because I don't have the ability to unleash my psyche. Isaku will retrain a feat in place of rolling downtime.

![]() |

Psi Burst I didn't notice it before either...

Mister Green tries to stand up, attracting Nakgu and Mork's wrath.
...so many reactions....
Actually ... you're in luck. Mork has his Amulet's Abeyance reaction, but unfortunately is not blessed with AoO. He's not a weapon Thaum, and even if he was, it would only work on the subject of his Exploit.
So I think Green should have a few more hp back.

GM - Tao's skill-rolled success HERE may have been overlooked.
Hero Points tend not to last long in my hands...
Party - how many points do we want to shoot for? I will happily give another check a shot, or even dispense with another high slot - what do folks think?

GM chadius |

No need to spend more resources on convincing Persea - she's ready to help in any way she can. You had to convince her to listen to your pleas before you could cast spells and make skill checks.
In a few hours I'll begin the next event: Missing Agents.
After that, there are 2 remaining:
- Travel Event 4: Navigating the Overgrowth (Navigation)
- Travel Event 5: Breaking Through (Skill Challenge)
Any preference on which we should tackle first?

Since Skill Challenges offer more chances to use the skills we built for our PCs and often more opportunities for creative thinking, I vote for ...
Travel Event 5: Breaking Through (Skill Challenge).

Two conditions are in effect. I'm posting them here so I don't forget.
On the Path: The Pathfinders are moving quickly toward their destination of Folien, impeding the efforts of those who would try to surprise them. On their next combat encounter, PCs gain a +1 circumstance bonus to their initiative checks.
Expedient Travel: The Pathfinders have reached the town of Folien much quicker than expected, giving the PCs some extra time to gather defenses. Once during Part 2 when the PCs would take a 10-minute rest, they gain instead gain the benefits of a full night’s rest.
