Sure, just let me know when you have finished your shopping.
Re: Mount
Even if combat is not written to be on the stairs, I think it would be in our best interest to make it on the stairs. I think it would be effective to position ourselves on the stairs. Make him come to us while we throw AoEs at Drustan and our melees buff up before charging. A mount isn't useful for me at 2nd rank since I'm as fast as the mount. If I upcast it, then we're talking.

Slick Silvertongue |

Slick saved 1441.1gp from the previous level, so with the 3941.07gp he just collected, that totals 5382.17gp.
When Slick reaches 14th level, he will be need to upgrade his armor to +2 Greater Resilient for a cost of 3100gp, leaving him 2282.17gp (plus whatever we collect from the Drustan encounter) to spend on new stuff.
Any suggestions are welcome.

Sigourney Knowledge |

Well, given that you crit so much, I would buy a greater phantasmal doorknob. For only 900 GP, you get to apply blindness for one turn on a crit with your great sword, no save required. Sigourney would be happy to help you affix the spellheart to your great sword.
You also have a free rune slot. Maybe get an energy rune? Pine has fire damage covered with his rapier. Billy and I can cover pretty much every elemental damage type in existence. Billy has mental, force and shadow blast, I have fire, sonic, cold, electricity, acid and Holy spirit damage. However, I need to spend spellslots to do sonic and Holy spirit damage. In particular, given that my holy spirit damage runs off my spell attack, I'm less likely to hit with it than if I were to use a save spell.
Perhaps you should get a Holy rune for 1,400 GP? Sigourney would be only too happy to have you contribute in her and her patron's efforts to destroy fiends and would offer to help you apply the rune to your sword at no cost. Alternatively, take a Thundering rune for 500 gp so you can do sonic damage with every hit. Generally, sonic isn't resisted by many enemies so it's a good source of additional damage.

Billy Bardy |

Suggestions for Slick:
(900gp) Greater Phantasmal Doorknob: Agree with Sigourney that this seems useful. Might as well use the talisman/spellheart slot. In addition to auto-blind on crit, you can cast Phant Killer 1/day. Range of 120 feet when enemies are too far away for melee.
(450gp) Astral Rune: Agree with Sigourney that Slick should make use of the 2nd property rune. I like Astral better than Holy because it's nearly 1000 cheaper, and adds 1d6 spirit damage instead of 1d4. But more importantly, it functions as Ghost Touch so it harms incorporeal creatures.
(805gp) Greater Demon Mask: Just upgrading the mask Slick already has. Why not have +2 instead of +1 for Intimidate? Plus, the 1/day Fear spell can target 5 creatures instead of 1.
Slick should be able to afford the above 3 items with the 2200gp he has.
In addition, not sure Slick uses his Greater Ventriloquists Ring (do you need the +2 Deception?). If not, you might wanna sell it. In fact, Billy might be interested in buying it from Slick.

Sigourney Knowledge |

Yeah I mostly agree with what Billy suggests. My case for Holy is because the spirit damage on that rune has the Holy trait, which could trigger a fiend's holy weakness. Sigourney would want to have every possible advantage against fiends. But I think that astral is better in the long run because it does fire and spirit and gives us options against incorporeal foes, of which the party doesn't have much recourse against.
Once I get confirmation from the GM re: the availability of Howl of the Wild spells, I'll make a gameplay post about Sigourney's shopping trip.

Slick Silvertongue |

Thanks for all the suggestions.
Unless Slck gets rid of his Grievous rune (fat chance), he's only got room for one more property rune on his greatsword.
The Phantasmal Doorknob (Greater) is an interesting idea. Since Slick regularly crits at least one of his attacks every turn, it will blind the enemy during its next turn. Everyone will then be hidden to that blinded enemy requiring it to make a DC 11 flat check when targeting you for anything that does not require line-of-sight, which they would presumably not be able to cast. They will also be off-guard, but Slick's Grievous rune already took care of that. Any Perception check by the enemy that requires sight automatically critically fails and all other Perception checks are made at -4. Oh, and once per day Slick can cast Phantasmal Killer.
A Holy rune is also an interesting idea, but 1400gp just to trigger a 0-10hp weakness on the unholy seems a bit steep. A Thundering rune for an extra 1d6 sonic seems expensive for such a limited amount of extra damage; as Billy pointed out, an Astral Rune will have a similar effect for much less with Ghost Touch thrown in to boot. Plus, he has a 1/day sonic attack from his Trumpet harrow card if sonic damage is required.
I was also thinking that a Shifting Rune might come in handy to turn Slick's greatsword into a Maul for when he needs to deliver Bludgeoning damage, say when he runs into things that are resistant to piercing and slashing damage, or weak to bludgeoning damage. An Extending rune to provide Slick with a ranged attack might also be helpful; he's not great attacking from range. A Greater Fearsome rune to hand out frightened 2 to anyone he crits might be worth considering too.
Slick also has two property rune slots available on his armor, but Advancing and Fortification runes seem expensive for what they provide. A Stanching rune could be helpful though we haven't seen a lot of persistent bleeding damage yet.
Greater Demon Mask is also on my wishlist. Unfortunately, he doesn't get to use Demoralize much since it is usually always better to Strike instead; same goes with casting Fear spells. But Intimidation is part of his character concept, so there's that to consider.
The Greater Ventriloquist's Ring was to increase his odds of the free Feint action he gets during a Scout's Charge succeeding, making his target off-guard on the first attack and thus increasing the odds of a crit to make them off-guard to the rest of his attacks. He's used it this way several times to good effect.
I'll decide on what I'm buying by tomorrow sometime or more likely, just wait until after the Drustan encounter to deal with it.

Billy Bardy |

Billy will wait to go shopping after the next encounter (presumably at level 14). He's ready to go, with his usual daily prep:
Billy shuffles his harrow deck and draws a Harrow Omen card.
Harrower Dedication to choose his Harrow Omen and Reading the Signs allows drawing 2 cards to choose from.
Harrow Omen Suit - 1:Hammers (Strikes), 2:Keys (Reflex), 3:Shields (Fort), 4:Books (Skill), 5:Stars (Will), 6:Crowns (Other): 1d6 ⇒ 1
Harrow Omen Suit - 1:Hammers (Strikes), 2:Keys (Reflex), 3:Shields (Fort), 4:Books (Skill), 5:Stars (Will), 6:Crowns (Other): 1d6 ⇒ 3
Billy will choose Shields as his harrow omen.
Activate The Carnival card (with a DC 4, instead of DC 6 flat check) to hopefully learn about Drustan.

Sigourney Knowledge |

Re: rune choices
I've thought about it and we aren't really that bad against incorporeal creatures to the extent that we should take the astral rune. Sure, Pine's sneak attack is completely neutered and it would be nice to get past the DR. However Billy has force barrage and I have vitality lash and holy light. Between the two of us we can get past incorporeal resistances. For that same reason, I don't think an extending rune is needed. Not only does Pine already have one, but Billy and I have an effective range of 500 feet. Shifting might be neat but Pine already has bludgeoning covered with the whip. Nothing to add regarding the armour runes. What I would appreciate though is either:
Greater Demon Mask and an AoE frightening feat like Dazzling Display or the Greater Fearsome rune.
I'll be honest. I like it a lot when creatures fail or crit fail my spells. Inflicting frightened on them is the easiest way for that to happen. The Fearsome rune would be the best at doing so, although it comes at the opportunity cost of no astral rune and the expense of a Fearsome rune. If, instead, you took a greater demon mask and a feat that let you more efficiently demoralize with one action like Dazzling Display, you could make a stronger case for leaning into your scary character trait more. Dazzling Display lets you Demoralize any number of foes within 30 feet for just one action. Maybe one action strike does more damage than a one action demoralize against a single target. But a one action demoralize against 3, maybe 5 targets? That is much more worth it.
Apologies for geeking out about the topic. There's a lot of optimisation juice to be squeezed out of highish level play and I rarely get the chance to have a real world scenario to do so.

Pinebrush |

Whips are slashing.
I've gotten a surprising amount of use out of Pine's necklace of fireballs. I see the Remaster equivalent is a little... worse.
I suppose I should upgrade his doubling rings.

Sigourney Knowledge |

Right. Let's declare all of my purchases first. I started out with 3941.07 GP. I'll provide a list of what I've bought, what they do (with links) and how much I spent on each item.
1 2nd rank scroll of Albatross Curse fed to Reginald, (lets Reginald learn Albatross Curse), costs 12 GP
1 2nd rank scroll of Hidebound fed to Reginald, (lets Reginald learn Hidebound), costs 12 GP
Choker of Elocution, (+2 item bonus to Society checks, lets Sigourney learn Necril, Draconic and Skald, and flat check to do auditory actions while deafened reduced to 3), costs 850 GP
Eye Slash (Major), (+2 item bonus to Perception checks that involve sight, so +2 to initiative), 700 GP
Jolt Coil, (Electric Arc can be cast from it, affixed to staff), 60 GP
Crystal Ball (Clear Quartz), (scrying), 1.9k GP (reduced by half due to buyback)
Facsimile of Baleful Polymorph copied from a dead Magi's spellbook and fed to Reginald, (Reginald learns Baleful Polymorph), 70 GP
A total of 3604 GP was just spent. I'm left with 337.41 GP. With my original 7.8 GP, I have 344.87 GP now. The cliffnotes version of my purchases is more spells, I have Electric Arc every day without a cantrip slot, +2 to initiative from 20 to 22, and my society has increased by +2. All these changes have been reflected in the character sheet.
Cantrips:
Cantrips (5 + 1 from familiar + 1 Stabilize from staff+ 1 Prestidigitation from Mage Hat + 1 Electric Arc from Spellheart)
Ignition
Caustic Blast
Rousing Splash
Needle Darts
Light
Glass Shield
Rank 1:
3x Interposing Earth
Rank 2:
1x Hidebound
1x Revealing Light
1x Albatross Curse
Rank 3:
2x Cloud Dragon's Cloak
1x Fear (upcast to 3rd rank, hits 5 creatures at once)
Rank 4:
2x 4th rank Heal
1x Fly
1x Fly (which is discharged into my Staff of Healing)
Knifewand: Holy Light (Rank 4)
Rank 5:
2x 5th rank heal
1x Wall of Stone
Rank 6:
2x Chain Lightning
1x Arrow Salvo
Rank 7:
1x Eclipse Burst
1x Banishment
Sigourney came into this hoping for fiends. I see two fiends. Sigourney hopes to banish 1 fiend today.

Sigourney Knowledge |

Good job team, we did a book! Couldn't have made it this far without you. Waiting warmly on the division of loot. Sigourney probably wouldn't want anything except the potion of flying, but she wouldnt buy one now. She needs money to learn spells and to fund her magical education.

Slick Silvertongue |

I am going to take advantage of the rebuild option that the GM so generously provided to tweak Slick. After reviewing his performance in Book one, I've decided on the following changes:
1) Though Slick has used Brutish Shove many times and even it's Powerful Shove upgrade a couple of times, the results have been somewhat underwhelming. He's picked up the extra 5 HP of damage a few times when slamming things against walls, but most of the time it's just resulted in moving the bad guys a square or two back, which isn't all that impressive, or useful.
Remove - L4: Class: Brutish Shove
Remove - L6: Class: Powerful Shove
2) Slick isn't really the Monkish type and I don't think his Monk Dedication (obtained through his Level 9 Ancestry feat: Multitalented), and associated feats of Monk's Flurry (Level 10 Monk Class feat), and Perfection's Path (Level 12 Monk Class feat) are worth the cost of 3 (mostly Class) feats.
Remove - L9: Ancestry: (Multitalented) Monk Dedication
Remove - L10: Class: Monk's Flurry
Remove - L12: Class: Perfection's Path
3) Instead of Monk Dedication, he'll take the Martial Artist Dedication. Martial Artist Dedication looks a lot like the Monk Dedication, in that both give the Powerful Fist ability (1d6 Lethal Fist damage with no -2 penalty). But, instead of a free trained skill (Thievery), he gets his Unarmed attack proficiency boosted to match his highest weapon proficiency (from Master to Legendary, as he is with Swords). Once he upgrades his Handwraps to +2 Greater Striking, he will be able to do a LOT of bludgeoning damage with his hands.
Unfortunately, he cannot take Martial Artist as his Multitalented Level 9 Ancestry feat, because that only applies to Multiclass dedications, of which the Martial Artist Dedication is not one. As such, I'm going to do a little switcheroo and move his Sorcerer Dedication from his Level 2 Class feat to his Level 9 Ancestry Multitalented feat. I'll also have to move his Basic Sorcerer Spellcasting feat from his Level 8 Class feat to his Level 10 Class feat. This will then Free up his Level 2 Class feat for the Martial Artist Dedication. I also had to tweak ability boosts to move a point from Wis to Int to keep his skill proficiencies unchanged
Remove - L2: Class: Sorcerer Dedication
Remove - L8: Class: Basic Sorcerer Spellcasting
Take - L9: Ancestry: (Multitalented) Sorcerer Dedication
Take - L10 Class: Basic Sorcerer Spellcasting
Take - L2: Class: Martial Artist Dedication
4) We'll now fill in the freed-up Class feats with a combination of Martial Artist and Fighter feats as follows:
Take - L4: Class: Lunge
Take - L6: Class: Follow-Up Strike
Take - L8: Class: Grievous Blow
Take - L12: Class: Dazzling Display
And while I'm at it, I'll switch out Slam Down for Intimidating Strike as the default for Slick's Level 9 Combat Flexibility. I'm unlikely to use either of these due to the extra action required, but Intimidating Strike seems more on-concept for Slick than Slam Down.
Remove - L9: Combat Flexibility: Slam Down
Take - L9: Combat Flexibility: Intimidating Strike
5) Once all that's done, we can now level Slick up to 14th as follows:
Take - L14: Class: Path of Iron (◆◆◆)
Take - L14: Free Archetype: Blessed Denial (↺)
Take - L14: Skill: Kip Up (◇)
If you've read this far and are still with me, then feel free to offer your opinions on my feat selection or suggestions for things I may have overlooked. If the GM sees anything they don't like, please let me know so I can fix it.
For those interested, you can see the rebuilt Slick in Pathbuilder HERE

Billy Bardy |

Apologies again for my long Gameplay post.
Don't forget to choose your 4 cards and mark them on your character sheet. Oh, and side note: at level 15, Billy will be able to grant 6 reroll cards instead of 4, with no chance of crit failure.
Slick, your rebuild looks good. Path of Iron is amazing. Three strikes with no MAP !?!?! Holy crap. I almost feel sorry for the bad guys.
Billy is leveled up. Not near the changes Slick made:
o New spells added (with only minor changes to old ones)
--Includes Breath of Life (as a backstop if anyone slips to Dying 4)
o Greater resilient armor
o Shadow Signet ring
o Silver and Cold Iron chunks (for Needle Darts)
o New scroll: Speak with Stones
o New wands:
2nd rank Tailwind (Longstrider) -- +10 speed, 8 hours
5th rank See the Unseen (See Invis) -- See Invis, 8 hours

Sigourney Knowledge |

Hello everyone, time to post rebuilds and talk about everyone else's changes. Just going to start off with critiques:
Slick, I'm pretty cool with those changes. I think having the enemy be situationally frightened 1 will benefit all of us spellcasters (and Pine's feints) a lot. No comment re: unarmed fighting, personally don't know if it will be worth all the commitment but I'm happy to be proved wrong. Are you switching over from Greatsword to Bastard Sword?
Billy, I'm pretty cool with your options too. Not sure what Speak with Stones does but See the Unseen all day every day is definitely a good idea. I've been thinking of buying wands myself too (5th rank Darkvision wand, False Life Wand, Air Walk Wand) but I'll wait to see how much money I have left after I RP with Arodeth with the GM and then proceed to use my remaining 23 days of downtime.
My changes and level ups (subject to change after downtime):
Feats:
Conceal Spell (8th level feat) replaced with Stitched Familiar. Gives me an additional cool pseudo-focus spell which is not tied to my focus points. Also gives Reginald something to do in battle.
Major lesson (Lesson of Death) replaced with Major lesson (Lesson of Vengeance). Vengeance is very thematic for Sigourney's patron these days. I also think that Curse of Death isn't as useful now since Slick can reliably put down -1s to enemy saves and Albatross' Curse provides stackable +1 to attack rolls without a save from an enemy. Plus, I get a Will targeting focus spell and spell which is a rarity in the Primal Tradition. Needle of Vengeance will discourage enemies from focusing Slick and let Pine get some action. Phantom Pain...is mediocre in Arcane and Occult spell lists but for the Primal spell list? It's good. When the strongest Will targeting spell I have does 6d6 mental damage, 12d4 upfront and potentially 12d4 persistent AND sickened 1 is a substantial upgrade.
Quickened Cast (14th level feat) is good because more spells cast per turn is good.
Enigma's Knowledge (14th level archetype feat) gives me assured knowledge on every skill I have...assuming I remember to use the free action.
Tattoo Crafting (14th level skill feat) is not only there because of Sigourney's new in character obsession, but also as a pre-req for a different feat I'll take later.
Spells:
Primal: Learnt Sunburst (Eclipse Burst but more deadly on undead) and Energy Aegis (once 7th rank spell slots are superseded by higher rank slots I will prepare these for myself and others)
Occult: Replaced Hideous Laughter (could get a scroll for this and Pine already shuts off reactions) and Heroism (Courageous Anthem is better) for Stupefy (messes with casters) and Heightened Protection (+1 Status to AC and saves in a 10 foot emanation)
I'll decide additional spells I learn through scrolls and additional items bought later after downtime, and I'll do downtime after I rp with Arodeth and figure out if she has any spells for me.

Billy Bardy |

Excited to see some new spells in actions, Sigourney.
This morning, I realized I should make one change: Originally, I designed Billy to be a jack-of-all-trades (since we didn't have a rogue or an int-based pc for things like Society). So I took the Archaeologist dedication to get Expert in Thievery/Society.
With Pine handling thievery and Sig handling society, that dedication isn't as useful. Besides, can anyone picture Billy getting his hands dirty at a dig site??? Me either.
Gonna swap the free-archetype to be Blessed One. This will provide an extra Focus Point (useful for more CA's and Counter Performance) and more healing/removing-conditions with Lay on Hands.
Not sure what Speak with Stones does
That makes two of us. :) I expect Speak with Stones to be completely useless. But Billy likes talking, so this gives him more of the world with whom to share his thoughts. On a related note, picked up a Speak with Plants scroll to go with it! Also useless, but just in case!

Slick Silvertongue |

Here is a rundown of Slick's financial situation and the purchases he's making going into the next book. This assumes that no one bothers trying to extract any +2 Striking weapons from The Rabbit Prince for resale.
Critical Success You surprise the Rabbit Prince and he is impressed enough to gift you a +2 striking weapon. The specific type of weapon is up to you, but it must be a common weapon. The Rabbit Prince is now on the lookout for your tricks, and you can never attempt this activity again.
Success You spot the Rabbit Prince for a moment, but he doesn’t spot you. The next time you perform this activity, you gain a +4 circumstance bonus to your Stealth check.
Failure You do not spot the Rabbit Prince.
Critical Failure You don’t spot the Rabbit Prince, but he spots you. He’s insulted by your curiosity and triggers a trap that inflicts a serious wound upon you. You become clumsy 3 for 1 week or until the condition is removed via an effect like restoration.

You know something? I think Sigourney would absolutely be into Archeology. She probably dabbled in that while in wizard school. Plus she would be into that since she's written to be into ancient empires and their magic. (Plus getting expert society for free allows me to save a proficiency boost and get Nature Mastery at this level anyways). Yeah, you know what? I think Sigourney would absolutely take Archeologist Dedication instead at Level 8. She qualifies for it then as by that point she's taken 2 dedication feats for Loremaster.
Silver Sheen, Phantasmal Doorknob
You know, since we're buying the Silver version of the metal rub, I wonder if it's worth buying the Cold Iron version? (https://2e.aonprd.com/Equipment.aspx?ID=861) Access is gated behind PFS membership but I think Pine qualifies for that. If that doesn't work, maybe the melees should make their weapons into Cold Iron.
Also assume Sigourney took 10 minutes out of her day to attach the doorknob onto your sword.

Cold Iron Blanch is Uncommon, so it will require either GM approval or Pine doing the buying. If Slick is to use it on his weapons, it will have to be good for Level 12 weapons, which means getting the Moderate version for 140gp a shot. I doubt we'll run into Fey anytime soon; we are more likely to run into a Demon, but at that price I personally don't think it's worth buying and won't be purchasing any for Slick. The Silver Salve at 6gp a pop is much more affordable (Slick has three now, just in case we run into Devils).
Also assume Sigourney took 10 minutes out of her day to attach the doorknob onto your sword.
Thanks. I figured I could count on your for that.

Slick Silvertongue |

Looking over Billy's Harrowing Ritual results for Slick. I will pick the following from the options:
1) Stars (Will) @ -4
2) Hammers (Strikes) @ +4
3) Keys (Reflex) @ +4
4) Shields (Fort) @ +4
After reviewing Slick's even level skill feats I've decided to make the following tweaks to better fit his character concept.
Remove - L4: Skill: Powerful Leap
Remove - L8: Skill: Titan Wrestler
Remove - L12: Skill: Rapid Mantel
Take - L4: Skill: Rapid Mantel
Take - L8: Skill: Quick Climb
Take - L12: Skill: Skeptic's Defense
Skeptic's Defense is Uncommon, so if the GM decides against it for Slick, I'll pick something else.
Regardless, that should be it for Slick's leveling up. I've updated his profile for all the changes I've listed in all my recent posts. Any Harrow card epitomizing I'll take care of in Gameplay.

Pinebrush |

Leveling up done.
New class feat: Leave an Opening
New skill feat: Swift Sneak
New free archetype feat: Blind Fight
Skill training: Master in Survival
Errata to sprite feats calls for a little bit of shuffling because the levels of several of my feats changed. 5th-level feat is now Energize Wings, 9th level is Hero's Wings. Also what those feats do is now different. Also, what those feats do has changed. Each feat in the chain is a straight upgrade now, so only the highest-level one matters: Hero's Wings grants a permanent flight speed of 25 ft.
One additional change: Swapping Sidestep for Opportune Backstab.
Purchases: Think I'm just upgrading Pine's doubling rings and resilient rune for now. Straightforward. Suits me right now. Brain tired.

Slick Silvertongue |

I was just updating my templates for the new feats I picked and noticed something about Follow-Up Strike (◆) I hadn't noticed. Turns out it applies only to Unarmed attacks, which makes it far less useful to Slick than I thought.
I think Exacting Strike makes for a better choice. I thought about taking Vicious Swing (the old Power Attack), but the damage math seems to favor using Exacting Strike to turn a potential 3rd Strike at -10 MAP into a 3rd Strike at -5 MAP after a missed second Strike at -5 MAP.
Remove - L6: Class: Follow-Up Strike
Take - L6: Class: Exacting Strike

Slick Silvertongue |

Ugh! Same goes for Grievous Blow. It only applies to Unarmed attacks. Switching it out for Vicious Swing.
Remove - L8: Class: Grievous Blow
Take - L8: Class: Vicious Swing

Slick Silvertongue |

One more tweak. Now that Slick has Vicious Swing, it probably makes more sense for him to take Furious Focus instead of Intimidating Strike.
Remove - L9: Combat Flexibility: Intimidating Strike
Take - L9: Combat Flexibility: Furious Focus
With a little luck that will be the last tweak to Slick's feats (yeah, right!).

Slick Silvertongue |

The last thing I need to worry about for Slick is his spell selection. With him getting Enlarge from The Mountain Man harrow card, he can switch out his level 2 slot. He'll pick Mirror Image instead. Since Enlarge was his signature spell, he'll now switch his signature spell to Sure Strike, which will allow him to cast it from any spell slot (or, as is likely, all three).
With Billy casting group Haste spells, I don't see Slick needing his own personal Haste as his Level 3 spell, so I'm switching it out for Warding Aggression.
His spell list now looks like this:
Cantrips: Shield, Telekinetic Projectile
Level 1: Sure Strike (signature)
Level 2: Mirror Image
Level 3: Warding Aggression

Pinebrush |

Pinebrush wrote:Free archetype feat slots cannot be used for regular class feats. Is this from an archetype or your class?Leveling up done.

It is a Rogue feat, but it's also a Horizon Walker feat.

Slick Silvertongue |

I hope it isn't too late for one final tweak to Slick (if so, let me know). It's just that I found a cheaper way to get Slick his +2 item bonus to Intimidation.
Upgrading to a Greater Demon Mask will cost Slick 805gp, but a brand spanking new Mask of the Banshee only costs 700gp. Both provide a +2 item bonus to Intimidation, but instead of the DC 29 Fear spell of the Greater Demon Mask (which Slick is unlikely to ever use), the Mask of the Banshee includes a DC 25 6d10 negative damage 20' emanation attack with a basic Fortitude save (which even with the crappy DC, he is slightly more likely to use than a Fear spell).
Rather than upgrading to a Greater Demon Mask (805gp), he will now sell his regular Demon Mask for 1/2 price (47.5gp) and buy a Mask of the Banshee (700gp). Net gain is 152.5gp.
If someone had a regular Demon Mask on their shopping list, I can sell you Slick's for half price.

Okay, just going to use my remaining 750.7 GP to buy a bunch of stuff.
Buying one scroll of each of Thermal Remedy, Gecko Grip, Ghostly Weapon, Invisibility Sphere, EARTHBIND and Roaring applause for total of 132 GP. Feeding Earthbind and Thermal remedy to Reginald.
Buying one Cantrip Deck (full pack) for 5 GP which I am feeding to Reginald so he learns all the common Cantrips.
Finally buying my fancy Tome of Scintillating Sleet for 430 GP.
I have 171.7 GP left in my coffers.

Reginald is going to be seeing combat this time. Swapping out Master ability: Cantrip connection for Familiar Ability: Damage Avoidance (Reflex). I'll probably need everything else Reginald provides. I'll also need to find out how I'm going to RP as a cowardly rat that can't speak.

Sigourney Knowledge |

I also realised that because of my level up, Sigourney's knifewand does 5th rank spells now. Nothing changes except Sigourney upgrades her heals on the wand from 4th to 5th rank.
Maybe in light of having 2 more powerful heals, I'll switch a 4th rank slot out for Air Walk.
Cantrips:
Cantrips (5 + 1 Stabilize from staff+ 1 Prestidigitation from Mage Hat + 1 Electric Arc from Spellheart)
Caustic Blast
Protect Companion
Needle Darts
Light
Glass Shield
Rank 1:
3x Interposing Earth
Rank 2:
3x Hidebound
Rank 3:
1x Wooden Double
1x Cloud Dragon's Cloak
1x Fear (upcast to 3rd rank, hits 5 creatures at once) - discharged into Staff
Rank 4:
3x 4th rank Heal
1x Air walk
Rank 5:
1x 5th rank Heal
1x 5th rank Holy Light
1x 5th rank Phantom Pain
Knifewand: 5th rank Heal
Rank 6:
2x Chain Lightning
1x Field of Razors
Rank 7:
3x Eclipse Burst

Pinebrush |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

Everyone gets water breathing.

Sigourney Knowledge |

I have resolved the issue we were discussing. Keep the spell and my turn, I won't use a reaction to expand the radius since I (the player) dont want to pvp my friends, problem solved.

Slick Silvertongue |

I just noticed that I did not update my Greatsword attack templates for the new Wounding rune. I have fixed this oversight, but unfortunately my most recent post does not include it.
GM: Assuming the demons aren't immune to such things, please add 1d6 persistent bleed damage to each of Slick's Strikes that hits.

Sigourney Knowledge |

Quick correction. My spell attack is 23, my spell DC is 33. I don't think this changes the result...Unless you're willing to give me a spell attack of 33 just for this fight?

Sigourney Knowledge |

Who wants to claim The Uprising?
Looking at the card, its effects trigger off an Unarmed Strike made by the user. My unarmed proficiency is Expert at best. Someone who has better proficiency should take it.

Billy Bardy |

Yeah, because the save benefits are item bonuses that don't stack, and since the primary activation requires an unarmed strike, I expect no one in our group is gonna get much use out of it. Slick and Pine can surely use the 2 actions far more effectively doing other things.
Having said that, Billy's unarmed strike is currently at +21, which isn't too terrible. I guess it makes sense that if no one else wanted it, he would've added it to his currently invested deck (if allowed).

Slick Silvertongue |

Loot from the demon assault on the Harrow Court is as follows:
500 +2 Striking Hand Crossbow (1000.00/2)
3000 Prophetess Jeweled Belt
4500 Torgal Jewelry
-------
8000gp
Split 4 ways, that's 2000gp each
Unless Pine objects, I will claim The Survivor harrow card.

Slick Silvertongue |

I believe I have fully upgraded Slick to Level 15 and am ready to go. Here are the details of Slick's changes:
ABILITY BOOSTS: Strength, Wisdom, Dexterity, Charisma
Ability Scores: Str +5◮, Dex +2, Con +4, Int +1, Wis +2, Cha +4◮
Perception: +23 (M) - +2 (circumstance: Battlefield Surveyor) +2 if hearing (item: The Trumpet)
Saving Throws: Fortitude +27 (M) (Battle Hardened) - Reflex +25 (M) (Bulwark, Tempered Reflexes) - Will +23 (E) (Bravery)
SKILL INCREASE: Intimidation to Legendary
NEW ABILITIES:
Greater Weapon Specialization L15: Fighter
Your damage from weapon specialization increases to 4 with weapons and unarmed attacks in which you're an expert, 6 if you're a master, and 8 if you're legendary.
Improved Flexibility L15: Fighter
Your extensive experience gives you even greater ability to adapt to each day's challenges. When you use combat flexibility, you can gain two fighter feats instead of one. While the first feat must still be 8th level or lower, the second feat can be up to 14th level, and you can use the first feat to meet the prerequisites of the second feat. You must meet all of the feats' prerequisites.
Tempered Reflexes L15: Fighter
Practiced reflexes let you find safety even in the face of cataclysmic explosions. Your proficiency rank for Reflex saves increases to master. When you roll a success on a Reflex save, you get a critical success instead.
NEW FEATS:
Diehard L15: General
It takes more to kill you than most. You die from the dying condition at dying 5, rather than dying 4.
Whirlwind Strike (◆◆◆) (Flourish) (Improved Flexibility) Free: L15 Fighter
You lash out in a blur of motion, attacking all nearby adversaries. Make a melee Strike against each enemy within your melee reach. Each attack counts toward your multiple attack penalty, but you do not increase your penalty until you have made all your attacks.
INCOME:
196.2gp: Chapter 3 Cash on Hand
2000gp: Chapter 4 Loot
309gp: Chapter 4 Earn Income
900gp: Refund on Phantasmal Doorknob (Greater)
40gp: Sell Lifting Belt
PURCHASES:
645gp: Buy Armbands of Athleticism
2800.2: Chapter 4 Cash on Hand
At the end of Chapter 5, I'm going to need 8000gp to upgrade Slick's Greatsword to a +3 Greater Striking weapon, so I hope we can come up with loot worth 5200gp per person in chapter 5.
If anyone wants a loan that they'll pay back at the end of chapter 5, then the Bank of Slick is open for business.
Since I had a spare investment slot, I went ahead and invested The Survivor in that slot. If Pinebrush would like The Big Sky to add to his hand, then he's welcome to it. It is particularly useful for flying creatures. I'm also willing to part with The Trumpet if that is of more interest; the 1/day sonic blast has proven quite effective.
I am selling back a Lifting Belt for half price: 40gp. If anyone wants to buy it from me at that price instead, it's yours.

Sigourney Knowledge |

I'll take you up on that loan offer. Can I take 400 GP off you so I can afford a Greater Resilient Rune?
Also I'm going to spend this downtime retraining 4 class features. Here's what I plan to do.
Retrain Cackle for Cauldron
Retrain Level 11 Diehard for Ancestral Paragon>Adapted Cantrip>Shield
Retrain Basic Psychic Spellcasting for Double, Double
Retrain Additional Lore (Fiend) for Adaptive Adept (Sure Strike)
28 days of retraining
Potions and Oils:
Level 1:
Potion of Retaliation
Potion of Emergency Escape
Ration Tonic
Merciful Balm
Level 4:
Lesser Healing Potion
Level 6:
Salve of Slipperiness
Level 8:
Potion of Quickness
Level 10
Aligned Oil
Level 12:
Potion of Resistance (Moderate)
Level 14:
Tentacle Potion (Greater)
Level 16:
Potion of Truesight
Level 18:
Potion of Undetectability
Level 20:
Oil of Potency (Major)
Page 223 GM Core:
You can craft higher level items with the lower level formula.
https://2e.aonprd.com/Rules.aspx?ID=3159
Daily Prep (assuming 4 potions/oils from retraining
1x Greater Tentacle Potion (Sigourney)
1x Holy Aligned Oil for Fiends
1x Potion of Quickness
1x Salve of Slipperiness
As for my level 15 proper, I would have +1 to Dex, Con, Int and Wis. My Dex would be 5, Con and Wis 4 and Int 5+. My Spell proficiency would become Master, along with all that entails. New spells for this level would be Artic Rift and Summon Elemental Herald. These new spells are going to be very cool and I can't wait to throw them out on unsuspecting enemies. As for skills, I will take my Lore: Academia and Arcana to Legendary, which qualifies me to take the skill feat Unified Theory at this level.
As for Reginald, his saves and HP improve. Stitching Strike gets a damage boost to 14d6 slashing damage now.
GM, if these changes are ok, I will make those changes immediately.

Sigourney Knowledge |

Oh no, this is just how I intend to progress with the Cauldron feat as I level up. I'm not going to Craft or access Potion of Truesight, Potion of Undetectability or Oil of Potency (Major) until I reach those levels.

Billy Bardy |

Billy's Level 15 Changes
Ability Boosts: Con(+3), Dex(+4) , Int(+4), Cha(+5.5)
Skill Increases:
Performance to Legendary
Fortune-Telling Lore to Legendary (via Additional Lore)
General Feat: Incredible Initiative
Class Feature: Master Spellcaster
New 8th rank spells:
Falling Sky
Uncontrollable Dance
Those are more unique than Spirit Blast which can do a whopping 20d6+8 damage from 30'. But I'm not 100% decided since Dance has the Incapacitation trait, and thus it may not be as useful. Will almost certainly take SB at level 16 if I don't just take it now.
Free Spell Swap:
Rank 5: Command (affect up to 10 creatures) replaces Shadow Blast
Purchases:
Hat of the Magi (upgrade to greater) => +2 Arcana
Pendant of the Occult (upgrade to greater) => +2 Occult
Stanching rune (upgrade to greater) => Pers Bleed flat check 10
Ring of Fire Resistance (greater) => Fire resist 10
Wind Ocarina => Breathable Air
New Harrow Cards:
The Rakshasa (with 2 followers)
The Trumpet

Pinebrush |

Ability Boosts: Con (+4), Dex (+5.5), Int (+3), Cha (+5)
Skills: Upgrade Deception to Legendary, become Trained in Intimidation
General Feat: Toughness
Skill Feat: Advanced First Aid
New Features: Double Debilitation, Greater Weapon Specialization

Sigourney Knowledge |

If Slick/the party lends me 400 GP, I will have 3117.7 GP. After subtracting the cost of my Resilient Rune from my Greater Resilient Rune, the price is 3100 GP. I would have 7.7 GP after the transaction.
I'll finish my level up within the next 24 hours.

Sigourney Knowledge |

Level up is done. Declaring spells for the day.
Cantrips:
Cantrips (5 + 1 Stabilize from staff+ 1 Prestidigitation from Mage Hat + 1 Electric Arc from Spellheart+ 1 from familiar)
Caustic Blast
Shield
Needle Darts
Light
Glass Shield
Vitality Lash
Rank 1:
1x Interposing Earth
1x Air Bubble
1x Sure Strike
Rank 2:
3x Hidebound
Rank 3:
1x 3rd Rank Fear
1x Cloud Dragon's Cloak
1x Fear (upcast to 3rd rank, hits 5 creatures at once) - discharged into Staff
Rank 4:
1x 4th rank Wooden Double
2x Air Walk
Rank 5:
1x 5th rank Heal
2x Wall of Stone
Knifewand: 5th rank Heal
Rank 6:
1x 6th Rank Slow
1x 6th Rank Holy Light
1x Phantom Orchestra
Rank 7:
2x Sunburst
1x 7th Rank Chain Lightning
Rank 8:
Summon Elemental Herald
8th Rank Dragon Form
Goal for this book - go Dragon Form one time and make a big impact.

Slick Silvertongue |

Looks like the Perception, Initiative and Saving Throw rolls in the "Rolls" spoiler needs to be updated. For Slick, they should look like this:
Perception
[ dice=Slick] 1d20+23 [/dice], Master
Initiative
[ dice=Slick] 1d20+25 [/dice]
[ dice=Slick Battle Cry] 1d20+31 [/dice]
Fort Saves
[ dice=Slick] 1d20+27 [/dice], Battle Hardened
Reflex Saves
[ dice=Slick] 1d20+25 [/dice], Bulwark +1, Tempered Reflexes
Will Saves
[ dice=Slick] 1d20+23 [/dice], Bravery
The "+2 if hearing" should be shifted to Billy as he is now the one with The Trumpet.
Because he is now Legendary in Intimidation, Slick has the option of using his reaction to Demoralize his target when he crits an attack.

Billy Bardy |

Thanks for the reminder, Slick. Here are Billy's updated roll templates.
Perception
[ dice=Billy]1d20+25[/dice], Master (low-light/darkvision/invis), +2 visual
Initiative
[ dice=Billy]1d20+25[/dice], +2 item visual/hearing, +2 circ scout
Fort Saves
[ dice=Billy]1d20+24[/dice]
Reflex Saves
[ dice=Billy]1d20+25[/dice]
Will Saves
[ dice=Billy]1d20+27[/dice], Resolve
