Sir Rhaym . |

Looking over at Grimstone and still not sure why Jim woke him up, "Hey Grimstone, Thoron is solid as rock while you, heck you do not even know how you got here let alone where the rest of you comrades are. I would think you would be less inclined to belittle those who actually rescued you from your delima and would be more interested in understanding how we could help you to become a better you." With that seeing as there does not seem to be any issue, he waves off his valet and forgoes getting dressed, unless the princess orders it, and instead lays back down to get his beauty rest as an ugly fighter is not a good fighter.

You guys have become far too spoiled dealing with encounters forgetting how many occur during the night on watch. Sometimes you just have to get up and grab your shield and sword and salley forth w/o your heavy armor! I will let it be morning. Ciri's suggestion to trade out the amulet for a healing device sounds appealing.

"Slim" Jim |

In the morning after making a cup of very strong coffee, Jim asked the others "What to do we want to do today? It seems to me that we've partially explored one tower and there's the other. Should we carry on going down the same way?"

brvheart |

You have yet to explore either Tower at this point. You are still in the area in between them.

Sir Rhaym . |

Rhaym looks over at Faffnyr as his Valet helps him get dressed and says, "Well, we are underground, attempting to put an end to evil, by destroying the evil that is or is within the Black Tower while reinstating or reviving the White Tower. However, we have not found either tower as of yet. We have, however, recently learned that there is an entrance to the White Tower some where up above us, provided that source can be trusted. Further, there appears to be other evil entities down here with us probably trying to tap into the power of the Black Tower in order to use it perhaps for their own nefarious purposes or maybe just to help the Black Tower with whatever purpose it hand when it first appeared. Does that help you any?"

brvheart |

As far as where to go? There really isn't a lot of choice but crossing the rope bridge DC 12 balance check.

Sir Rhaym . |

OCC: Or the first floor where the entrance to the White Tower was mentioned to be.
Also what rope bridge are you talking about? I do not recall us encountering a rope bridge?
Regardless Rhaym will follow the princess first and Thoron second. So where they go so shall he go as well.

In the tomb room with the bears is a rope bridge beyond them. If you follow Ciri she will lead the party back to level one to finish clearing it. Also, Thoron mentioned yesterday that he thinks everyone has experience for level 8. He was going to check it and post it. Someone decide please. It matters little to me.

Ciri Princess of Cintra |

There is one room on level 2 that we open the door and didn't go in with Jackles also. I say open the door, throw some food so they leave the room, then search it. Do three dead giants count as food?

Sir Rhaym . |

OCC: Okay I looked back through the posts and we never passed the room with the bears so never encountered this rope bridge, but thanks for the glimpse into the future. ;-)
Also as stated Rhaym will follow the princess and then Thoron so if the princess decides to return to the 1st floor, Rhaym will accompany her. As for the Jackles, I am not sure where 3 dead giants would be (missed that part I guess) but we do at least have 3 dead bears and 2 dead humanoids that could feed them for quite sometime.
So it appears that we have at least 2 known paths on the 1st floor that we did not explore and do not necessarily know if there are any hidden paths that we might have missed. Of course, now we have our expert searcher so that should also help in case there are any hidden paths that the group might have missed during the first pass.
As for XP I was told by the GM that Ciri was tracking that and simply stopped doing so since, I did not wish to upset anyone with any further questions in that regards.

I put you in front of the bridge. You were 10' from it fighting the bears

Sir Rhaym . |

OCC: Okay but while we were 10 feet from that wooden bridge while fighting the bears and then the giant skeleton, the map at that time did not reveal this bridge nor did you describe this bridge.
As such we simply went from encountering Grimstone, to fighting the bears, to fighting the Giant Skeleton, to fighting Xor and his lackey and then retiring back within Xor's chamber.
So no mention of a wooden bridge and thus none of us being aware that there was such a bridge. That is all I am saying. Sure we could meta-game but that is something I prefer not to do. I try my best to base my character's reactions and thoughts off what my character knows and not what I the player know.

brvheart |

Fine, you found a rope bridge at the south end of the chamber of the Tomb of Sam.

Ciri Princess of Cintra |

Well, bear sound perfect, skin the bears, throw the pelts in the hole, get about 50 pounds of bear steaks and livers in the hole, wrapped up nicely in xor's cloak and head up the rope ladder in the bears chamber. Go to the jackels lair.
We can bury xor where the giant was buried.

Sir Rhaym . |

OCC: Yeah when you think Brown Bears you can think Grizzly Bear (as it is a typical sub-species of the Brown Bear). Brown Bears basically range from about 6ft to 8ft tall and can weigh anywhere from 300 to 1,600 lbs depending on the sub-species. The Kodiak being the largest sub-species.

Ciri Princess of Cintra |

Well we finished getting our sleep, getting leveled up and spells, got the bears carved up with some meat to take with us and climb up the ladder. Go to the jackel room. When we get to the room, we will string the meat from the door to the 3 dice playing giants room, open the door, throw the rest in, the leave the door open until they clear out. Then we can search that room and head to level 1.

brvheart |

The ladder rungs on the north wall of 3-2 leads back up to level 2 where the giant was.

brvheart |

Oh the jackals will gladly eat the bear meat, but this is their lair. They are not going anywere.
All you see in the room is a pile of jackal dung.

"Slim" Jim |

"Individually perhaps not, but quantity has a quality of it own." replied Jim.

Sir Rhaym . |

"Look if it is needed, I can stand in each doorway and prevent anything from exiting the room, while you all either use ranged weapons or weapons that do not require close proximity to inflict harm on those within the room in order for us to bypass this evil."

brvheart |

"Look if it is needed, I can stand in each doorway and prevent anything from exiting the room, while you all either use ranged weapons or weapons that do not require close proximity to inflict harm on those within the room in order for us to bypass this evil."
Sir Rhaym, you had previously detected evil in this room and found none when the other player was playing the character.

brvheart |

There jackal head god... neh?
He kisses his blade. Jackalslicer.
That would be Set, the god the bad guys worship here.

brvheart |

You detect magic from within a pile of dung at the north end of the room, mild intensity.

"Slim" Jim |

Jim shared Thoron's opinion so with a heavy sigh he prepared what he felt was an unnecessary combat.
