Studley tries to defend Ennoia, but cannot stop enough damage to keep her from falling. Instead, he heals her and lashes out at the assailant. He makes contact two times out of three, but the outer shell is too hard for him to cause as much damage as he expects.
She wakes up feeling like she ran 50 miles with the flu yesterday. But she does wake.
Haohji's first swing looks like it will connect, but the golem moves out of the way at the last moment. Frustrated, the follow-up is nowhere close.
Bob is having trouble getting his invention to do what it is supposed to do. Maybe he can find something here to tune it up with?

Studley once again tried to protect his new friend Bob. They say a quarter of an orc is better than none where he came from.

◆ Snagging Strike
◆◆ Power Attack
You combine an attack with quick grappling moves to throw an enemy off balance as long as it stays in your reach. Make a Strike while keeping one hand free. If this Strike hits, the target is flat-footed until the start of your next turn or until it’s no longer within the reach of your hand, whichever comes first.
Ennoia Rylintar |
Thanks, Studley!
At first, Ennoia feels completely overwhelmed by the sheer brutality and speed with which the construct almost killed her. Her instincts kick in, however, and she rises to her feet, steps nimbly aside, and slashes at the creature mercilessly. "By the Vigilant Seal, you arcane monstrosities are supposed to be destroyed! Begone!"

Ennoia rises and takes out her frustrations on the golem, who seems to resist her weapon as it had all the others.
With allies to provide a distraction, Haohji connects cleanly with the golem with both strikes.
Bob easily shakes off the effects of the injection and gets his armor working properly. Unfortunately, his pick does not strike the spindly golem.
Studley's retribution is swift and does result in some damage shifting to the golem. However, the chemicals now coursing through his body make him sluggish and prevent him from hitting the creature again.

How are you getting 2d6 for your club? Gravity weapon only increases static damage in 2e.
cmlobue |
Yes, though I suppose it works out to the same thing.
Graeyson hits the golem with a stick. The dagger is off-target, though.
The golem is starting to break down, but it is still a threat.

Crafting could have been used to Recall Knowledge about this, but it doesn't matter now. The weakness (well, lack of resistance) was indeed adamantine.
The golem doesn't seem to notice Ennoia's glare. Despite having a visible brain, there doesn't seem to be anything up there.
She hacks at it with her sword, and combined with Studley's spear and Graeyson's staff, the creature finally falls to the ground, inactive. Some of the vials smash open, releasing a pungent smell. Whatever was in here has clearly gone bad.
You find nothing else of immediate interest and can return up the ladder. The full excavation team arrives the next day, and their leader, Kyreen Tael, a half-elf ranger, asks you what you have discovered.
Studley Brightblade |
"There is one smashed golem and some other broken potions that were in this golem and they punched holes in me to inject them. I request a medical evaluation."
Studley exposes his shirt to show he is ripped and two huge puncture marks in him.
Haohji PFS |
Haohji nods in confirmation to Studley's assessment, The complex seems to be a mess. Old armors and alchemical items...
Ennoia Rylintar |
Smirking at the Orc's bravado half-admiringly, Ennoia adds "All danger has been... resolved, let's say. The complex below proved highly interesting, and will require further examination, especially from dedicated archaeologists - here are some artifacts we gathered." She shows what the Pathfinders found, as well as her notes on the architecture. "This golem, of alchemical nature, was especially interesting. I should know, I got maybe a little too close for my own good."
cmlobue |
Kyreen ponders the report. "Huh. The site may no tbe Osirian ruins, but should still prove interesting and useful. Thank you for your work."
The group can head to the docks for a ride home.
