Hey, I doubled my chance to make it through the door. And Talindra, if you make the strength minimum of your armor, you remove the skill penalty and 5 feet of the movement penalty. I had Billi's move at 15' for a while by mistake.

From AoN (an amazing resource)
Strength
Source Core Rulebook pg. 274 4.0
This entry indicates the Strength score at which you are strong enough to overcome some of the armor’s penalties. If your Strength is equal to or greater than this value, you no longer take the armor’s check penalty, and you decrease the Speed penalty by 5 feet (to no penalty if the penalty was –5 feet, or to a –5-foot penalty if the penalty was –10 feet).
And Talindra can make little headway vs hardness 10 with 1d8+4

"The shark turns out not to be all dead but mostly dead and has acquired an overwhelming desire for the blood of the female cleric. Her wounds still leak a trace of her sweet blood which is enough to act as smelling salts and give the massive bulk just enough life for one last attempt to snack. It suddenly leaps out of the water to swallow Lenrelle whole before finally expiring and sinking beneath the waves."
Proceed with back-up character. :P
Edit: While I think it goes without saying, I'll say it. I'm entirely kidding, of course.

Not as good door smashing as Talindra this time :-(
My count is after bad guys and Billi go we are at Acrobatics DC 11
I think our DM invented a new 2e mechanic for door widening :-)

It's just like every other campaign. Dragons, devils, undead? We can tackle those without too many problems. Doors, though? They're the real end boss.

Oh shit oh shit oh shit. Am I in range for Glimpse of Redemption for Sable? I will get a post up in the morning but I want to address that before I get some sleep.

DM DoctorEvil |

Because you have already hacked the wall to pieces, I will grant you line of sight for this effect (though the text doesn't specifically require it). And you are both still within 15'.
Again, in this case, the more mindless animal (INT -5) would continue the fight, so Sable gets resistance 3 (now at 6hp) and the croc gets enfeebled 2 condition rest until the end of its next turn. Sable is still grabbed.

Sable Rose |

No worries, Lenrelle, and don't feel you have to spend the last spell on me. It might be better to save it for Billi or Talindra since there's still Lamm to take down after the croc and Erick are down.
On a side note, Dr. Evil, how do you do the maps and make the little counters? I've been thinking about running a PbP, and I want to make sure I can do maps and all first, so if you have tips or a tutorial, would you mind sharing?

DM DoctorEvil |

For maps, I have just been using Google search to see if I can find what the text has. Failing that, I will scan a page from the book. I cover the text with a shapes from the toolbar and then just re-size to fit. Can use polyline for odd shaped places.
The tokens are typically google image search for Thug or alligator and then re-sizing them to fit the grid. You can use the "shapes" tool on Google docs to make them round or square etc. The edges can be thickened using line thickness and colored the same way.
I am sure there are much more high tech ways to do both, including Roll 20 or other VTT tools, but these work for me and are fairly simple.
Let me know if you need players if you start a table...

I get a lot of utility out of google drawings.
Just for your info, Perivolt makes a good point about Roll 20. Pathfinder 2e Kingmaker the first book with the maps is free.
I have loaded it and it is pretty nice with many maps and handouts ready to go.

I'd give Foundry a look. I've been using roll20 since 2013 and, frankly, it's not changed much in those ten years. As a professional developer myself, I seriously wonder what they're doing with their time and money. Beyond that, Foundry's 2e packages are a joy to use. There were a few included in the recent "Hasbro are evil corporate monsters" Humble Bundle and they're so, so much better than anything I've used with roll20.
I promise I don't work for them (I'm allergic to web stuff), I just think it's a much better piece of software :)

Maps are quite helpful for PbP; they’re just asynchronous. For Foundry, you’d need to have the server running for the duration of the PbP, or arrange times with your players for when it will be running. There are paid hosting providers for Foundry, or you can self-host. It’s a node.js app, so it runs just about everywhere. I may find the time / spoons to post a recruitment thread for that AP, in fact, or the Stolen Fate AP assuming it’s ported. If that happens it’ll likely be in June/July.

Thanks for the Foundry VTT suggestion. Targeting was a little hard to figure out, but our first session went smoothly using it.
Count me in for AV, hopefully before my group gets through the Otari content.

Billi Hardstone |

Hopefully that puts everyone but Ioca and Billi up now.
I assume I used one of my only Harrow points and will update on my status bar. Billi is at full health by my calculations.
Had to add a movie reference.

None of our dice are playing well, it seems. But I got my reaction back, so that's good, right?

![]() |

In the interest of fairness, I want to point out that I'm at 13/19, not 18. I took a crossbow bolt from Lamm for 5. I'd rather like to be at 18, but alas.

Billi Hardstone |

So, here is how we handle two handed weapons now in our 2e games -- switch from one to two hand grip is a free action.
Recently, I found online that switching from a one hand to two hand grip is an interact action. So Billi cannot free action drop shield and attack two handed as I have been doing. I did it twice in the combat in the first room.
I plan on treating switching grips to add a hand as an interact action in the future unless I find out otherwise. We have been following the rules as written here, and I will try to get back in line :-)
And, just for you power gamers that remembered how great two handers were in 1E, those days are over!!

Sable Rose |

They're still good. You just can't do super easy switches from 1 to 2 hands which actually makes a lot of sense. But, you are correct on the actions. Going from 2 hands to 1 is a free action, but going back to two hands, basically reading the weapon, is an action.
I like how the system makes you make choices. For instance, Sable would optimally use a shield. It takes no training, and anyone can Raise Shield. But, I wanted her able to easily use combat maneuvers like Trip and Grab, so I made the choice to forgo the AC bump for more flexibility in action choice.
I think decisions like that in both build and in actual play is one of the best parts of the system.

2. Can she cast burning hands on the gator without hitting those dangling kids or any allies? 15 ft cone and all
Casting a fire spell in the basement of a wholly wooden structure suspended over a river / bay leading to the ocean? Brave :)

Ha. Good point! Nvm
Plan B it is

Billi can also force the door without a crowbar— don’t know if we have one.
Flimsy door says expert — don’t know if that makes Dc 20 or impossible.
