Three things I used to buy, chalk, candles and pitons. Candles and pitons aren't in the adventurers kit, so had to buy them separately.

I think we should grab the rest of the alchemical items, the elixir of life, and the scroll before leaving the fishery, and heading to the boat, in case we can't return for them. Sable will grab them if no one else does, but I don't want to be a loot hog, and consumables can come in handy for everyone.

Ioca Dola |

I was ready to go first. <shrug> Won't fight over it. Maybe I should go second, to provide assistance? Though, other than holding the slack side of the rope across your torso so i can help pull you back to the last piton, I'm not sure how it would work . . .. And that might be better for a strongman than an agile one to work?

DM DoctorEvil |

I moved the alchemical items to sable's possession with the exception of the elixir of life which Billi has.
Perivolt - you cannot cast this spell as a reaction, so if someone fell, they would have to deal with the consequences of that, but you could bring them back to your side after their fall with friendfetch.

I should mention Talindra actually has two 50' lengths of rope (one in the adventurer's kit, one in the climber's kit). I hope this is more than enough. :)

Billi Hardstone |

I think the white rectangle is the hole Billi is looking through. If so, the walkway is very close to the hole. Maybe a simple hang and swing onto the planks.

I have marked off two days of rations for the two throws of food. If these are the equivalent of US military MREs I have tossed him about 12000 calories and 60 fat grams of food.

I knew I was going for a swim, I even told Lenrelle in character. :P I think this is going to be an important bit of character development for Talindra, actually, something you’ll appreciate, Perivolt. I’ll make an IC post once we know what happens next.

You totally did. Lenrelle is apologizing even if it's the dice's fault ;)

I have to say, my original plan was to use the elite version of the shark, due to 6-person party size, but I changed my mind at the last minute. That shark does considerably more damage, and likely would've outright downed Talindra with a critical hit, and her in the water after would've been a bad scene. This fight is hard enough, in the cramped space, no mobility, and the shark with full range of motion and underwater w/o an elite upgrade.
Good luck finishing it (or at least driving it away).

1 person marked this as a favorite. |

The flavor of Glimpse of Redemption says that the foe sees their sin and regrets it, but its hard to see how a mindless eating machine like a shark thinks about such things. Typically, I will take the resistance/enfeeblement version of this reaction for mindless creatures, but may choose differently (as I did before) for those who have a sentience about them and depending on the circumstance.
It was a good save of an ally! Earns a Hero Point!!!

Yup, it’s clear that the shark isn’t going to give up on an easy meal, so that choice makes perfect sense. I can’t imagine it doing anything else. Seems this shark is evil, though, it’s got a taste for holy blood!
And thank you! Seems like I may have to put it to use soon if we deal with the shark for much longer. If the theory of evolution existed in Golarion, Talindra would be musing on how nature hasn’t changed sharks much for many, many years :D

It occurs to me that Lenrelle's actions in Round 2 got skipped. Since she was momentarily unconscious, I moved her on my init tracker, but she never really was, so she shouldn't have moved. Feel free to post a Round 2 action whenever, and then you will go for Round 3 after the shark, if necessary.
Sorry, when I glitch it glitches big.

I thought Billi was by the door after getting down first. That is why he has been throwing javelins. Anyway don't see any way I can be attacked, so he will keep his actions as is.

I thought you left a post saying you wanted to move to the end of the underpier place, so I moved you there. Maybe I misunderstood. Doesn't really matter now, I suppose.

Ooooh. Clear signs of trauma, drug addiction, other physical and mental health issues. This man clearly needs medical and psychiatric attention.
It’s a shame (for Lamm, anyway) that Talindra doesn’t have half of that awareness. Not that she’d care if she did.

First, no worries, Comcast is literally the worst in every possible way.
Second... Yeah, I'm at -2 with my armor. I literally need to roll a 20 to succeed. Is there any way to widen the doorway? I was expecting that the attack on the door focused on the parts near the locking mechanism / doorknob so we could dislodge the mechanism and open it. If not, we're going to need to seriously rethink our tactics.

![]() |

Haha, fair point ;)
I’ll be planning on hacking at the door if it’s still up on my turn, then. Assuming someone doesn’t let us all in from the other side.

DM DoctorEvil |

To be clear, the door is broken down completely, but the doorway, as mentioned, is only about a 2.5' square, not a normal door. It's hard to pull yourself up and squeeze through, especially if in a fight.
I will say, that you can take a full round (all three actions) and get through the doorway also, the DC 18 Acrobatics lets it be easier than that. Fair? And again, if you take a full round, you don't make it though until the next round, and block it up for everyone behind you.

I think it's Erick's turn right now anyway. And I completely empathize; I'm not able to go through without some, uh, creative remodeling. :)

Gotta say, I am not feeling very enthusiastic about that alligator, given recent experience with the shark—another predator that reached its evolutionary peak many long years ago!
