Ug. That's horrid. If they are on the British version of Netflix (or another streaming platform you already have), pay a few dollars a month for a VPN. You can set your country to England, sign in and get their menu.
I haven't tried it personally but have been told it works well. Now, I don't know where it's streaming over there but it's Dr. Who so I assume it's somewhere accessible. :)
And yes, the streaming situation is out of control. I keep Netflix, it has the widest variety and overall the largest number of movies, shows and documentaries. I keep Disney for all the Marvel and other Disney stuff and have kept HBO for a while but it occasionally gets turned off for several months. Also Amazon prime but... the free shipping more than pays for that so it doesn't count. :)
Even with my rising internet bill i'm still paying a LOT less than when i had cable...

Hey everyone, I'm making the difficult decision to end my play by post career here on the boards. My energy levels and mental acuity haven't rebounded post surgery to where I need to be to keep up with my games. As a result, something that was long a source of joy has become a source of frustration and woe.
Thank you for all of the help with the rules and for mentoring me in some Savage Worlds adventures.
Please make me inactive as a player/character.

GM_ZenFox42 |

I'm playing in at least one game where there are only 2 PC's. If y'all are game (pun unavoidable) to continue with 3, I'm fine with that.
I've made a new post in the Recruitment tab, but it's not showing up in Paizo's Recruitment web page as a recent post - anyone know what I need to do to make it show up there?

Arabella Stormworth-Darling |

My work schedule has changed. For the next five weeks, I'll be unable to post generally after 3 PM (same time zone as New York City) on Monday through Thursday. I'll check games in the morning and make what posts I can.
Also, I may be traveling on April 6-9. I should have some access to Wifi and a laptop, but if a post is needed in this period, please
'bot my character. It's possible the trip will not happen, in which case I'll let you know. (I'm hoping to see the total solar eclipse on April 8 in Ohio, USA.)

ALL - the Encumbrance rules I suggested for Telekinesis in Recruitment are way too complicated, in that they require the player or I to keep track of how many rounds have gone by before they have to roll again, and at what penalty. To refresh, they currently are :
Up to 2*encumbrance : once every 3 rounds, make a Spirit roll at -1 or take on a level of Fatigue.
Up to 3*encumbrance : once every 2 rounds, make a Spirit roll at -2.
Up to 4* encumbrance : every round, make a Spirit roll at -3.
I'd like to change them to :
Up to 2*encumbrance : once every round, make a Spirit roll at +2 or take on a level of Fatigue.
Up to 3*encumbrance : once every round, make a Spirit roll.
Up to 4* encumbrance : once every round, make a Spirit roll at -2.
Anybody have ANY opinions about this? Thanks!

GM_ZenFox42 |

Sorry to keep changing things, but I just realized that a +2 virtually guarantees success (96% or higher), so the +2 to 2*encumbrance is really not a penalty at all. So the revised revised rules are :
Up to 2*encumbrance : once every round, make a Spirit roll or take on a level of Fatigue.
Up to 3*encumbrance : once every round, make a Spirit roll at -1.
Up to 4* encumbrance : once every round, make a Spirit roll at -2.

I am sorry for not posting recently. As I said I would be, I was traveling since Saturday morning and while I had some time on the weekend with Internet access, I had trouble signing on to Paizo and could not bet a password reset to work. I'm just now able to post again, but now I'm crunched for time as I get caught up on my work and all my games. I'll post as soon as I can, but I'm okay with 'botting my character if it will help keep things from bogging down.

No worries.
You do remind of of something though. I'm remembering that there have been a few times over the past few years where I go out of town for a few days and just CANNOT login to Paizo. I'll get back and everyone else in my games have posted and will say they had no problems. It's been maybe once a year for 3 or 4 years.Hmmm...

Arabella Stormworth-Darling |

I sent a message to Paizo's support team and got a message back suggesting a number of things relating to clearing the cache, disabling ad-blockers which might prevent pop-ups, etc. I can forward that to you in a pm if you like. I haven't tried any of them, since the problems occurred on my laptop and iPad.

I was looking for a table online to give ideas for space adventure cargo. I actually found a whole book devoted to that. It was not very expensive, so I picked it up. I'm going to use this space to roll a random cargo type to go with the rolls I made in the gameplay thread.
Result: Personal Electronics
Examples: Multiband, holocamera, holo-player, bullhorn, datapad, cortex link system, recording equipment (audio, video, holo)
Manner of Cargo: Small crates: wood, plastic, metal. Form fit foam padding
That seems pretty reasonable, especially since the random weight was relatively low. It could also be connected to the job just completed, with someone connected to the videographer with the reporter perhaps having heard about the death of someone with a lot of electronic equipment that needs to be shipped elsewhere for liquidation (see Who is Offering the Cargo Job below).
There are other details the book allows to be rolled for. I'll roll through them just to give the flavor. Obviously, this is all just suggestions. Go with what works.
Cargo Payment offered: 1d100 ⇒ 15
Result: Barter for Trade Goods
Cargo offered: 1d100 ⇒ 5
Result: Alcoholic Drinks Wine, Brandy, Whisky, Moonshine
Glass bottles in straw in wooden crates
Presumably the alcohol would be at the destination and would be swapped for the electronics. Maybe our profit from your own tables could be the profits after selling the alcohol?
Cargo Delivery Requirements: 1d10 ⇒ 7
Result: A specific route is required, possibly incorporating intermediate stops. This route may bring the PCs near rivals or enemies.
Who is offering the Cargo Job: 1d100 ⇒ 53
Result: After the death of a rich person, their goods are being shipped home/to buyers.
Cargo Locations: Typically, freighters would haul uninteresting things to and from expected places. Since adventure gaming is about the exciting stuff, we reduced the probability of a boring result to encourage more interesting encounters. Most of these places could be a modern, populated version or a run-down, ghost-town version… a safe place or a dangerous place.
Roll once for starting point, once for ending point.
Starting Location: 1d20 ⇒ 7
Public access area where shipping and receiving is expected.
Ending Location: 1d20 ⇒ 12
An urban area set up for shipping/receiving but abandoned for years.
Cargo Special Circumstances
Here are some ways to make a job more interesting. The basic terms of a job might seem simple but when you deal with the unexpected, the challenge can go up. They aren’t required but I suggest rolling 1d4-1 to get 0-3 special circumstances. Not all circumstances are negative.
# of Special Circumstances: 1d4 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 0
So no special circumstances.
There is a chart for distances, but for us that is handled more by the starting and ending regions. I believe we are in a border region going to another star system in the border regions. Our current location in in the Red Star system and we are delivering to the Georgia System, so from one star system to another in the border region.
FWIW, there are tables for jobs that involve passengers.
It has a last optional table for something extra. I'll put the result under a spoiler for the GM's eyes.
I don't know if this fits but here is the result.
The job is a lure to bring someone out of hiding. Once they appear, the hammer will try to come down whether it is the Authorities, Crime Bosses, or some other power. Will the crew stand by and let it happen? Will they get lumped in with the targets?
Suggestion: the person who died and left this electronics gear may have left information within a piece of electronics and someone wants to get that and arranged the delivery to an isolated place where they could try to grab the goods.

Space Encounters by www.dicegeeks.com Actually, that's not it. I will get the title when I get home after work.
I had to order a paperback copy to get the pdf. I'll give you the paperback copy when it is delivered.

I'm afraid I started that, by making an OOC comment about his first attempted die roll in-game, and then others followed suit. I'll post a referral to check Discussion about any future issues.
GM, I was not begrudging the questions, or the corrections.
My first few skill checks were exactly like his.Only through patience, and good explanations, did I get a grip of the system.
And yes, I do appreciate the effort you put in on the deadlands swade game to help set me straight.
All I was requesting is that in future if Brook could place questions here, and that will allow us not to clutter gameplay.

GM_ZenFox42 |

Harold - I didn't think you were begrudging anything, but I did want to take responsibility for it.
Brook - since your thermostat-fixing isn't essential to the game, I thought you could make those rolls here so we can discuss them. Make a Psionics roll to activate Boost Trait for your Electronics skill (Success raises its die type by one, a Raise by two). Then make your Electronics skill roll with the new die value.
Arabella - why is a Haggling roll in your new job creation rolls (the ones in the Gamepage)? That would only be needed in case you did a Salvage job, took on Speculative Cargo, or had a Middleman, none of which apply here. Am I missing something?

Brook Longshot |

Taking what you said literally, you don't "add" the Wild die roll to the Skill die roll. You roll it independently (re-rolling for Aces as required), and when all the dust has settled, take the better of the two. And yes, there's a lot of previewing of dice rolls to check for Aces.
Also, saying you're using Boost Trait means you have to roll for it too, using your Psionics skill. You could use all your PP to maintain it for up to 7 minutes, which should be enough.
Also, could you please put *all* your latest PC information in your icon's Profile tab, using the "About" window to present all the information you've been sending me in your PM's, thanks!
The process was meant to describe compiling a post, so the addition referred to was additional post lines, not mathmatical.
FOCUS: 1d8 ⇒ 7
So that is sufficient for the Boost to be effective, correct?
ELEC: 1d8 ⇒ 1
WILD: 1d6 ⇒ 6

GM_ZenFox42 |

Pretty good, but *every* Skill and Attribute (Smarts, Vigor, etc.) roll always gets an extra Wild d6 to roll. So make a Wild roll for your Focus (with Acing) and take the better of it and the 7.
Also, for your Electronics roll, the Wild die Aced, so roll another d6 for it.
And, you can just concentrate to activate your Powers, so nothing's been given away in-game, yet.

Again, sorry for the dumb questions and stuff, but, given the possible result set, and my process outline, I didn't roll a WILD die because I had previewed the 7 and unless this campaign is super different ... a d6 roll is unlikely to produce a 7 so I didn't roll it and just moved forward. Should the roll be made anyway?
Really just trying to wrap my head around it.
