With ArfSnarf opening that door, I am totally voting to send a Hero Point ArfSnarf's way.
GM Tiger |
Mindartis hasn't cast a vote yet so I'll let the dice god decide. Order will be based on the order above - repeats will be rerolled.
Vote 1: 1d6 ⇒ 5
Vote 2: 1d6 ⇒ 1
Arfsnarf gets one hero point. The second is in a 4-way tie. Again, I'll let the dice god decide.
1-Salaish 2-Zendel 3-Mindartis 4-KaLang: 1d4 ⇒ 2
Zendel gets the 2nd one. Thanks for participating in our raffle. Now back to our regularly scheduled program...
KaLang |
I know Arfsnarf is the logical choice to open the door, but Ra'uf is peeved that someone else did it. Was I able to use my reaction to help, or was that not enough like combat?
Just to clarify, is it the player or the character that is peeved?
I don’t think he had you use your reaction either there or when I took damage. One or the other should have gotten the reaction.
Looking at your Champion’s Reaction of Liberating Step, it really depends on if a trap can be considered an enemy.
Unlike in PF1 and Starfinder, PF2 has no rule that you have to wait until you have acted to get the reaction.

Just character.

I'll bot Salaish in 12 hours if I don't hear anything. I'm using server time since it's the one posted -- and I'm 16h ahead... :)
Arfsnarf Ah'sneeze |
Today was a bit of a busy day. She'll be up by then, but might not post right at that time. If you give it another 2-4h I suspect she'll make it.

RL is busy busy busy this holiday season, so feel free to bot me as needed. I'll do a quick post for Salaish now, though.
Zendel of Oprak |
Zendel is hoping for a Lay on Hands from Ra'Uf, if possible.
GM Tiger |
Happy Holidays everyone!
Yesterday was part of a long weekend in the Philippines (told you this country will shut down!) so I was kind of in holiday mode by Friday...
Zendel of Oprak |
Oops missed Salaish's Inspire Courage. Please add one to my bow shot and damage vs Red, GM!
KaLang |
I had a lot of fun with this adventure. I hope others enjoyed it as well.
I hope to play with all of you another time.
UncleFroggy, I thought you did really well and am looking to incorporate how you track Hero Points into my own games in the future.
Salaish Talenduth |
Agreed! This was a fun one, GM'd well and with stellar RP. Good job all around, folks!
My Chronicle info is accurate.

Thanks. Though as much as I'd like to take credit for the tracking method, I stole it from Deevor :)

Wow, this was a lively group. This would be a pretty good band to get back together sometime :)
Great job running this GM. It's always nice to get options aside from pure violence from time to time.
I had a ton of fun.
Zendel of Oprak |
Would we want to do a reunion tour? Maybe we could find a GM to run an adventure we can all agree upon.
GM Hmm |
Oh and GM, thank you for finishing in a timely manner. Now I can go read the scenario without spoilers -- I'm GMing it next week locally!
GM Tiger |
I was planning to have HMM acid test a 02-06 (Crashing Wave; 3-6 Repeatable)...
GM Tiger |
Game has been reported and chronicles emailed. Please check your spam folder as gmail decided to drop them there.
Zendel of Oprak |
Two questions:
1) Is Crashing Wave a good adventure for this party? Can anyone battle underwater? This is a serious question, because I have neither played nor read it. The blurb makes it sound like it would be very challenging for the group.
2) Could everyone play it?
It might be that we would want a different adventure for the reunion tour, if we were picking out adventures.

Give the players hell! :)

“You want me to fight underwater?”
KaLang looks at his weapon and then back at you.
“You do realize I am not a fish?”
KaLang is not adept at underwater combat.
Tarcog |
A bronze-scaled kobold overhears the word underwater and comes over.
“Oh! A fight underwater! Can I come?!? I’ll bring my dragon!”
It isn’t a reunion tour though if we all swap to different characters.
That said, I do have a character that actually wants to play in an underwater scenario. Has Underwater Maurauder and an aquatic Eidolon.
BretI |
There are a lot of scenarios that I can still play. Much easier to schedule with a repeatable though.
A Most Wonderous Exchange is a 5-8 repeatable. Most of us would need to level in order to play it.
Guardian’s Covenent is by far my favorite repeatable scenario and a 3-6.
Zendel of Oprak |
Ooh... Guardian's Convenant sounds much more suited to a reunion tour! Can everyone play it?
Zot the Magnificent |

What level is Tarcog? Is he level 3 or 4? Zot the Magnificent is Level 5 now, but with a bunch of GM credit so I would need to level her, so I could accomodate Underwater Marauder. (I last played her on Level 2... it's the curse of being a mostly constant GM. I need to apply those Society credits somewhere.) But Zot is a mighty dragon, and so needs competent party members minions to do all that boring thinking stuff. Zot will happily fight to protect her minions, and she is very sociable, but she needs at least one member of the party who is good at that boring academic stuff.
Also... If we need her to be lower level, I could slow track my last credit and scale her back to level 4 if we need her to be more in line with other party members.
But... There is a limit to my mental bandwidth and the number of Play-by-Posts my brain can handle. I could either do Crashing Wave -or- the Reunion Tour. Not both.
What do other people want?

My Chronicle looks good; thanks again for running this, GM Tiger! Always a pleasure.
Salaish is leveling up to 5th with this Chronicle, and would enjoy continuing with this group. She isn't built with underwater situations in mind, but can still figure out a way to make music to inspire the group if need be. She can play Guardian's covenant too.
Arfsnarf Ah'sneeze |
Arfsnarf can play either of those scenarios. I have no idea what underwater fighting looks like for him, but problem numero uno: the clacky rock won't roll there! Okay, maybe not the biggest problem :)
BretI |

Aquatic combat makes it hard to do ranged combat, makes most people flat footed (see Underwater Marauder for exception) and make slashing and bludgeoning attacks less likely to hit.
It can be a lot of fun for some characters, and make others feel useless. Eventually all characters should expect to hit some underwater combat so it isn’t a bad idea to know what that involves.

Technically, the clacky rock will roll there. Just not very well. I can roll a die in a tray full of water, just badly.

Hahaha. This I'd love to see.
/me Goes back and reads What to Expect at a PFS 2E Table, goes on spending spree. The near-death experience got me thinking about keeping some extra at-level healing potions around. Bought a robust selection of alchemicals and scrolls.
Because the topic came up, things that are useful for underwater mobility (not really combat, per se):
* Sea Touch Elixir (alchemical)
* Scroll of Air Bubble
* Scroll of Water Breathing
* Diving Suit - this option looks cumbersome compared to the more flexible options above, and still requires 320gp bottled air (!!)
For combat? Dunno. Underwater firing mechanism? There's some stuff in Guns & Gears, but I didn't immediately find much else.
(We don't have to play the water game, I just got curious)

Chronicle looks good. Thanks for a great game, everyone, especially UncleFroggy for running!
I have no characters who would do well underwater, but a poppet inventor who seems to end up soaked every time she is sent on a mission...

Extra long weekend here. I have a character about to level to 5...

So that's everyone but Mindartis (since he never posted back). I've recruited GM Blazej to be our tour guide. GM Tiger, what character will you be bringing?
GM Tiger |
what are we playing? I don't have a 5 just yet.
sorry - long weekend since 30 December.
KaLang |
We were talking about Guardian's Convenant.
Good, because KaLang is still only 4th level. Need one more scenario before the big level up.
KaLang |
Either the Cleric or if it melee the Rogue. It sort of depends on who is in the game.
Zendel is an Investigator.
KaLang is 2H big damage melee Magus.
Salaish is a spell casting bard.
Arfsnarf is a rock-toting sorcerer.
Mindartis is an archer.
Ra’uf provides good melee and healing.
I’m not sure how many of these people plan to play, but it looks to me like Cleric with a healing divine font would probably be best, melee rogue likely would also work.
GM Blazej |
Hello and I'm happy to run Guardian's Covenant for you all.
I've set up a thread for the game over here if that works for everyone. I can run it as soon as you all would like.
Arfsnarf Ah'sneeze |
Arfsnarf is a rock-toting sorcerer.
He's also built to melee with jaws (anklebiter feat) and claws (dragon claws focus spell) in a pinch. It's just not the first thing he goes to (and... he may not have done this yet :D)
(not that this changes our needs :P)

Ok. Since we now have a thread for 03-13, I'm going to shut this table down in 24h or so.
