You leave the security office and you pass where the corridor veers to the left and you go into the bursar's office.
This room is well lit compared to the security office. The dust has been
scrubbed from the floor and furniture. There are
a pair of chairs against the west wall, and a large
pot that once held a plant, but now only supports a bunch of dried sticks. The room has been cleaned up after Daradall and the Iron
Society gang left.
Behind the L-shaped counter is the robot bursar, it says, "Welcome to the Sagow Enstoot, how may I help you?"

GMEDWIN |

The robot says, "You are the two new employees. Here is your back pay."
The robot hands Zera and Tinteretto one golden domar which is 100 domars.
There are two doors that lead out of this room other than the one you came in through.
You have been in room 24 and are in room 22

Zera |

Not sure if anyone else has a preference, but I guess my preference is to look around first. I will go check 23, and if nothing is there, then 25 after.
I also want to make sure the Enstoot knows that we're still working for them when we go report back though... maybe we could recruit for them, and it seems like we should get back that dangerous box thing that the bad guy took. ... Which reminds me, do we know where that guy who can take away powers is? Maybe he could go with us, since that guy seemed way too powerful to be able to just take people over. Not sure if it was by contact or what, but we don't want that to happen to us.

1 person marked this as a favorite. |

He said he was going to Ulmin Station, which you know is back towards Ascension and then further south.
You go into room 23 and it is a typical office, with a desk, chairs,
wall-mounted pictures, etc. On the desk is a sign the says, Mr. Tinteretto, Vice President of Finance
Tinteretto's assistant says, "Mr. Tinteretto, we hope you like the furnishings. We have not received electronic mail from Bob's Discount Furniture in more than 200 years. It may be difficult to requisition replacements."

GMEDWIN |

The robot says, "Duly Noted".
Zera walks into room 25 and what she sees is a typical office, with a desk, chairs, wall-mounted pictures, etc.
The robot assistant says, "This is the comptroller's office, Ms. Loidl has not come to retrieve her personal items as is Enstoot's policy."

Zera |

Okay, I will pack them up and deliver them to her if I see her. Also, I know you already have a bunch of people working for you, but I was thinking we should go and recruit some more. Lots of people nowadays will work for the wages you guys offer. What do you think?
Zera looks around to find "Ms. Loidl"'s belongings.

Zera |

She gathers the belongings and places them in a pocket of her bandolier, checks behind the pictures on the wall just in case, and then moves on to the next room.
As she goes she prompts the living metal again... do you think a recruiting trip might be a good idea? We could probably fill up some of these empty offices.

A.I |

The metal being says, "We need to do some more research."
You go out of the room you went into to get paid and then you cross the hallway to room 27. There are a couple of desks with chairs in
here. Each desk has a computer terminal on top with a card slit. There is also a door on the other wall of this room.
The metal robot says, "This is the Personnel office. Mr. Manakin was the last head of Personnel but he never returned to work so we have been contactiing him to return his ID cards for going 2 centuries."

Zera |

Zera looks around to see if there are any access cards... or other things.
If she doesn't find anything she informs the AI that the long absence indicates that Mr. Manakin should be terminated and they should start recruiting a replacement.

GMEDWIN |

You go back into the hallway and into the next room. This room is dominated by a large mail sorter.
The sorter is broken and into many pieces.
Most of the offices look to be connected by pneumatic
tubes to the mail room.
There is a computer terminal next to the sorter and there is a closet in the back. There is also a door to the south.

Zera |

What happened to the mail sorter?
Zera checks the closet in the back.
Then she checks the computer terminal to see if it is operative.
Leaving room for something to happen, or for an interesting find, but if everything is mundane, she moves to the next room.
