Welcome!

Thanks for your interest in this game. Very excited to GM the special! If you haven't gamed with me on the Paizo boards, take a look at my GM Profile to get a feel for my style and expectations.

2. Add your token & character info on slide 1, and your marching order on slide 2
3. Fill in the character macros sheet. (There is an example tab for reference.)

I'm happy to help if you need assistance with any of this.

Please feel free to use the time between now and Sept 11 to chat about builds, coordination, etc.

This group I’ll be starting with 2 hero points based on known glyphs.

Verdant Wheel

Interi (they/them) | LN conrasu fighter 4 | hp 62/62 | AC 21 (22 w/shield), F +10E, R+9E, W +11E | Hero Points: 1/3+coin | Speed 25ft | Perception +11E | Sunlight Healing: 1/1 | Focus Points: 1/1 | Battle Medicine used: | Current Conditions: | ◆◇↺

I need to get Interi leveled up to 4, so I'm going to hold off filling in the macros until then. They are a conrasu freehand fighter with druid dedication.

Horizon Hunters

Female (she/her) Human Oread Inventor (Armor) |HP 31/38 | AC 20 (22 w/ Shield) | Fort +8, Ref +6, Will +7 | Perc +5, Low-Light Vision | Hero Points: 2/3 | Active Conditions: None

Salka usually likes to be up front since she's a Bastion archetype with a shield but from the looks of what I can see just from the sign up page we have a frontline heavy party so I'm happy to be more middle line up as well, since I also like to trip and grapple people for a stronger frontliner to damage. Let me know if someone wants to swap around places with me.
(Especially since I don't have the highest amount of hit points compared to full martials.)

Hey Doug,
is this the 1-4 or 3-6 run through?

SoT (Semester 1 Year 3): Tactical Map, Handouts, Macros ⠀Sundered Song: Map & Handouts, Macros ⠀Pallid Peril: Map & Handouts, Macros

This is a subtler 3-4 game.

Action Symbols: (◆), (◆◆), (◆◆◆), (◇), (↺) | Status Symbols: ♥️ hit points, ☘️ hero points, ✋ held items, ⚕ status conditions

Am I under the false impression that there are two tiers for this game, and not three?

SoT (Semester 1 Year 3): Tactical Map, Handouts, Macros ⠀Sundered Song: Map & Handouts, Macros ⠀Pallid Peril: Map & Handouts, Macros

Basically.

There are two "tiers" advertised, but subtier 3-4 is repeated word-for-word in each tier's document. There are only 3 possible level ranges for the special:: 1-2, 3-4, 5-6.

Asking in GM discussion land if there's any "why" to this.

Action Symbols: (◆), (◆◆), (◆◆◆), (◇), (↺) | Status Symbols: ♥️ hit points, ☘️ hero points, ✋ held items, ⚕ status conditions

May be running or playing this at Pacificon - want to make sure I’m straight on which runthrough or playthrough checks the 1-4 box and which checks the 3-6 box.

Unless you are saying we can both run 3 times and play 3 times?

SoT (Semester 1 Year 3): Tactical Map, Handouts, Macros ⠀Sundered Song: Map & Handouts, Macros ⠀Pallid Peril: Map & Handouts, Macros

I asked a fellow VO. He was told the chronicle of whichever set the GM is using matters for replay/re-GMing. It's either 1-4 or 3-6.

The chronicle you will receive for this game will be for tier 3-4.

So as far as I understand you can play again at any tier in the 3-6 range.

Grand Lodge

He/Him

I believe it's even more flexible than that. You can play this special twice at any tier (to avoid exactly this kind of trouble).

Torrent has a reach weapon and spells so can be flexible. I put her in the middle but if she needs to swap in front, or hold up the rear then that's all good too.

redeux,
I know we played the prequel together but Don Jurri met with Zenith - I'll assume you both ran and played it, hence two characters having credit, but that leaves the question: Does we know eachother?

Horizon Hunters

Rixette primarily throws weapons so she can similarly be flexible in where she is in marching order.

Also, Doug, just a reminder that Rixette uses After You to automatically go last in initiative but start with panache.

I thought about that, and had to check which char played which. I applied GM credit to a different character. Torrent has only played 2-19. I don't think they would know each other having been on different teams, but perhaps they may have come across each other during Torrent's debriefing? If you had something in mind though, I'm game.

Gunna drop this here for GM to adjudicate.

Gossip Lore + Dubious Knowledge:

Gossip Lore + Dubious Knowledge

Your time gossiping in fashionable salons keeps you informed on every topic. You are trained in Gossip Lore, a special Lore skill that can be used only to Recall Knowledge, but on any topic. If you fail a check to Recall Knowledge with Gossip Lore, you get the effects of the Dubious Knowledge skill feat.
+
You're a treasure trove of information, but not all of it comes from reputable sources. When you fail (but don't critically fail) a Recall Knowledge check using any skill, you learn a bit of true knowledge and a bit of erroneous knowledge, but you don't have any way to differentiate which is which.

To minimize temptation to metagame, if given two pieces of info, Jurri will flip a coin for which to "prioritize" over the other, up until such a potentially dubious conclusion is born out by abject failure or experience to it's contrary!

Cheers.

I would also note that Gossip Lore (and most other "catch-all" Lores like Bardic lore) don't seem to benefit from the reduced DC one might get for a narrowly and specifically applicable lore (such as Undead Lore being used to Recell Knowledge about an Undead creature).

Not sure this changes your preference here but generally your Trained skills are probably safer to use than the Gossip Lore.

A fair adjudication.

That said, Don Jurri will always attempt to roll against something if GM allows - I took the Class feat because I enjoy making up the "how" (rumor) of it!

I'm going on a rec row tonight, so I will not be able to update until 9 or 10 PM. Please try to get settled within the next ~5 hours. If need be you can retcon in a consumable etc, but I would prefer to avoid that if possible.

Do remember Don's gossip lore gives him dubios knowledge, so one of those things he heard is true and one is false.

"The other way, master! It can't (blub blub) see you from that direction!" from off-screen, dealing with an attacking crab, our mighty halfling hero keeps tabs on his charge.

Will Xavier's timely comment spell the difference?

I don't believe think your hireling can participate in combat in this fashion:

Guide wrote:

You have recruited a non-combat hireling who can assist you with a certain set of skill checks. This ally performs the selected skills with a total modifier equal to 2 + your level, and they are considered trained in the skills. You must expend any actions and be in range to perform the action yourself, and any consequences of these actions affect you (such as falling when using Athletics to Climb).

You cannot use the hirelings skills except recall knowledge in combat, and the hireling cannot be affected by, or affect combat, and cannot be harmed unless willfully endangered, and has no effect other than performing the selected skill checks.

Factions and Reputation

You're welcome to have spent a hero point for that reroll, though! Just let me know here.

That confused me at first, too. But Don Jurri has Adopted Ancestry -> Halfling Luck, so mechanically it was Don Jurri using Halfling Luck. The hireling was just a narrative tool. That may or may not be OK still - it's somewhat a fine line but at least mechanically it was all Don Jurri.

Generally I also prefer players stick to 1 post per round per active token in combat to keep things coherent. It can get confusing if people cross post with other players by making multiple posts for the same creature.

@GM - Small thing: Temporary HP does not stack. So Torrent just has 2 temp hp still. Something I learned from Tyranius's demonic bloodline sorcerer who enjoys biting things with glutton's jaws and then using vampiric touch! That was SO much temp HP! This also really makes the difference in a certain scenario that uses a lot of temp hp in one combat.

Pretty fitting Bolkagna as-written gives you fermented drinks, and Rixettte was talking about fermentation while standing at her gate.

The PCs can purchase spellcasting services for any common spell in the Pathfinder Core Rulebook of up to their level at a 10% discount for the duration of the adventure.
