Trying to get a handle on things here.

It sounds like (from Slack) we may be all over the place on character levels.

So, just wanted to make sure we discussed this before diving in with both feet.

I do have characters in the 3-4 subtier, though was originally planning on playing Giovanni, who is level 2.

I have never played Starfinder before, this will be my first foray. So if you guys all want to play up, that's ok with me. The APL looks like it is going that way anyhow. If I die, no skin, with any of my characters really, but especially the level ones! I have an Operative and a Soldier also rolled up, also level 1.0; just wanted to get familiar with the classes.

Randy has a movement rate of 40', which Skorrch has 30' (as does Giovanni).

I am pretty much assuming that's the full difference.

Without knowing Noble-44's skills, IMHO this puts us as such:

Science: Skorrch
Engineering: Giovanni
Gunnery 1: Noble-44
Gunnery 2: Randy
Pilot: Magnok

Though I could see swapping Magnok's and Giovanni's assigments to get our best pilot forward. Could also have Randy in engineering to start, and our best gunner (Giovanni) on the guns.

Forgot... no Skorrch... so only the 4 of us

Need to know Noble-44's skills.

Also, we could possibly use Randy as Chief Mate, but that seems to be a support role.

My suggestion is this:

Pilot: Magnok +6
Science: Giovanni +9, moving to engineering rd2
Gunnery: Noble (+13)
Engineering: Randy, moving to chief mate rd2 (for maintenance panel)

The cost of this is that the DC16 check to Back Off isn't a guarantee, though we'll throw the computer bonus, giving a a +9 on that piloting check.

It will maximize our gunnery, and starting on round 2, should allow us to boost 2 things (shields and guns?)
