Sorry for not posting more, I feel kind of bad about killing all these Kobolds, who, from their perspective, are just defending their land, I will probably express this in character once combat is over.

Sorry for the prolonged absence. I need another week or so to power through a busy and stressful time. Please bot me as needed.

Hi folks, my theory that things would be better in a week was too optimistic. I suspect work is going to keep me from posting for the next couple of months, with late September being the time where I can jump back in. I have a September 21 deadline I'm facing, and there may be spillover / I'll need to recover. I'm really sorry for the trouble.
I will roll with whatever solution makes sense to you. Happy to have my character botted or have my character or just step away from the action temporarily. If you prefer to move on entirely, I'm okay with that too; I don't want to sap the momentum of any of my games.

We seem to have stalled anyway. No one has posted in a bit. This is the last book I wanted to playtest and wanted to see you guys fight the dragon to close it out. I'm fine with trying to pick back up late September to finalize the battle with the dragon, the only significant thing left.
I'd also like your opinion on the adventure. I started writing them but with no one really picking up the first two books I decided the time was not worth it. In trying to pull this team together and playing through I have noted some issues to be addressed in some fashion.
> Player's guide needs some sort of guidance on deities. With everyone traveling to a new world it seems like a bit of a waste to develop several major pantheons. Some other options would be to disallow clerics or have them be a Wizard or Bard variant and ditch domains.
> Adventure books need updating. I must have originally written it after switching over from 3.5 to Pathfinder. Many of the HD listings are for 3.5 NPC types.
> The specialized armor needs a non-armored character option. The original playtest group did not have any sorcerers, wizards, monks, etc.
Any additional things you guys can think of to improve the story or the layout would be greatly appreciated.

--Added guidance on deities, although they dont seem to be that hard to make up on the spot.
--Atlantis getting blown up was very climatic
--Retraining is i think important here because acclimatizing to Atlantean weaponry etc.

I like it overall, thanks for putting it together, this dragon part feels slightly disconnected from the earlier parts of the adventure though, maybe it'll come together, I guess we'll have to wait and see!

It really is a stop over to get the players into New Atlantis, claim it as their own and such. The original playtest group actually requested an island for Atlantean refugees in the empire. So when they were resettled here the players assisted the gnomes for payment and an agreement for trade between the New Atlantis colony and the gnome towns. You guys didn't pursue that angle so the tie in was not really present.

Hey, I'm back! Hoping to get back into the swing of things.
I may have already said this, but I think the Oathsworn class should be buffed. It was something I definitely wanted to try, but I thought it didn't compare that favorably to other martial classes. Giving up armor is a big deal and should reap greater rewards elsewhere.
Also, I would endorse an epic airship battle! We've had ships involved in various ways, but I don't think we had either a one-on-one battle with boarders or an epic fleet battle where we played a major role.

Agripos |

Airship vs. bird riders would be solid too. I understand we probably made some different choices.
In the part where we infiltrated the base to retrieve some metal armor, I'm really curious if we could have tried to steal those birds that were parked there. But besides Alejandro, we're not a stealthy team.

I'm happy to keep going, although I'm going to be going on holiday in a few days for a couple of weeks, and my internet is going to be limited, so please bot me if required.

I was reminded this weekend that I need to pare down my game time to pursue other endeavors so I believe I should call it here. I want you to have access to the books. I saw some additional corrections that need to be made and hope to get them updated and perhaps even tricked out with some art for a rebranding but that will be a year or two out. Hopefully, you will find an interesting nugget or two out of these.
Dread Forces: A Land Destroyed
Dread Forces: The Secret of Talas
Thanks for playing and great job kicking the pee out of my dragon.

Weee we did it!
My personal highpoint was probably the improvised pretend Eryines summoning using an altered poem from German history.
In hindsight, some martial Oracle would have fitted Sigrid better, to emphasize on beeing well, good at bluffing and going for hijinks, antics and shenanigians.
The scene of running away from the big evil antipaladin was also cool.
There is a bit of a mood swap from fighting these destroyer things to chatting with not leonardo da vinci.
Ideas:
--On the Empire base, have the party acquire an imperial intelligence assessment of the strengths, weaknesses and capabilities of the various enemies that the empire has, and whom the players could plausibly ally with.
--The intelligence assessment could be doctored by the party to get some "neutrals" on board by overhyping the threat the empire poses to them (there is a pretty good deep space night episode where Sisko and Dukat bullshit the Romulans into going to war with the Founders)

Thanks for running the game! Was fun to feel super powerful at the end thanks to the super-armor. I felt bad for the horde of kobolds we crushed.

Ironperenti |

The beast that is connected to that arm you found is pretty nasty and its not alone. I wanted to create a situation where the players felt very powerful and then throw them into a meat grinder in the third book. Between no art and sucky art, the books got no traction so I was not motivated to develop book three further than initial play test.
Thanks for the ideas. If I get the gumption to redo the books I will keep them all in mind.
