Oops was thinking Trap Sense did that also. Double checked and the 10ft thing is just secret doors. So yep. 2 probable failed fort rolls.

DM Carbide |

First Corbrae and then Mrs. Book begin to feel a little ill. Viridian notices the change, and when he asks how they're doing his voice sounds like the smell of freshly turned earth. The light of the oil lamps looks like a F# above middle C sounds (or so Corbrae thinks), while the texture of the stone walls feels green. It is a disorienting experience, to say the least.
Joseph will also go through this a little after Corbrae and Mrs. Book. Mechanically you're sickened and take 1 point WIS damage; you have three more rounds of this, saving each round vs. DC 18, and one save will stop further WIS damage. The sensory effects will persist for some time, though.

Mrs Book remembers the cloaks with the breath masks and grabs one from one of the fallen bandits and sticks it in front of her face and breathes through it.

DM Carbide |

Mrs. Book finds that the liquid in the reservoir serves to counter the ongoing effects of the toxin. Remove the sickened condition, but you're still down the 1 WIS stat damage.

DM Carbide |

"...dude. Have you ever...you know...really looked at your hand?"

![]() |

With a mouth covered by a wadded mask she is pressing tightly to her face she offers some advice in short, muffled, and gasping sentences.
"These guys were wearing these things for a reason. It counters the poison gas. You should all put one on. Let's get out of here and return to the room with the clothing."
Leading the way she keeps the mask over her mouth until she reaches safety after which she dons the mask in a more practical way.

![]() |

I don't know, I would say some poison, but that's not my area of expertise. It makes things look like less real, and some other things that I hope aren't real look like the real stuff.. Don't know if you catch my meaning.
Corbrae's voice seems a little less assured

![]() |

Viridian looks concerned
”By all things Green. The masks may be helpful even if unnatural . I just do not know if they will work with casting. And if they can be fitted to a wolf “ he pats Blitz on the head.

DM Carbide |

Based on the symptoms, Viridian thinks it's some sort of synesthesia drug, crossing up sensory inputs. The liquid in the masks appears to be an antidote, so it should be possible to dose Blitz if more is encountered.

![]() |

Viridian shares the information
”This is indeed like an antidote to the poison. We should take it along in the event there is more of the toxin. Let us continue and hope not.“
He will grab and don a mask for him and another for Blitz if enough exist
Then moved forward
perception : 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (16) + 14 = 30

DM Carbide |

There were twelve masks in the room the party snuck through, along with five captured from the fallen enemies.
Viridian notes no other traps as he leads the way to the corner and looks around. A long, wide corridor illuminated by flickering oil lamps stretches over sixty feet north before turning east, with numerous narrower side branches. There are heaps of trade goods here and there, the occasional bloodstain or weapon scar on them indicating that they were not obtained via normal commerce.

![]() |

"Averitable nest of criminals," Mrs. Book observes. Oncce agains she begins a detect magic so that they are not surprised by any magical traps, though it does occur to her that a magical trap that was discovered by a simple cantrip would not be effective.

Corbrae puts a masks on, hoping it will help her fight the poison
she testes her voice through the material
Do you hear me well? It can be important if I sing a song of valor, and you can't hear me properly

![]() |

"Quite well, dear," she says by way of example through her own mask.

DM Carbide |

Corbrae, one more save before putting on the mask.

DM Carbide |

Corbrae, take one more point of WIS damage before the antidote can take effect.
There are several doors ahead. Where to first?

![]() |

The first one looks fine to me.
"Well, I suppose we try each door as we come to it?"

DM Carbide |

Viridian listens at the door, but doesn't hear anything. Opening the door reveals what looks like a small barracks, with a pair of double bunks and a privy in the north wall. The eastern portion of the room is partitioned into a pair of cells, with doors made from iron bars. Inside each is a shoddy bunk and a rusty bucket.
As Viridian opens the door, he thinks he sees movement under a bunk in the one of the apparent cells.

Corbrae's voice cuts through the clamor from the strange creature, enabling Blitz to resist its effects. Mrs. Book's spell seems to have an effect on it.
Viridian steps up and cuts at the enemy, hitting it but doing no damage--its flesh parts easily before his blade, but grows back together as soon as he finishes his slash. Joseph barely hits with an arrow.

Corbrae inspires the party and advances, while Viridian and Blitz both miss with their attacks. One of Joseph's arrows hits, but once again the creature's unnatural flesh parts before the missile and reforms behind it. (His first arrow left a mark, though.)
