Said Valkyrie is more powerful so her personality actually shines through on occasssion.
Especially since I just got ressurected by a Gorrumite priest. So it would be in a way rude to keep her shut down. She is kind of the second "guest" I have that does not try to corrupt me to one of the lower planes, so, yeah, progress!
It has been that way since I could think. The joys of growing up with imaginary "friends", I am, to this day, amazed I killed nobody by accident as a teenager.

But, lets get back to slaying Gnolls shall we?

When Vivi moves off, he follows, staying close to her since she's...uh, whatever she is. He is not as quiet as she is.

Heading West out of the great dome you see two massive doors covered in centipedes and other massive creatures. The doors are 40 feet tall and each are 15 feet wide. One of the doors stands ajar, enough for a human to easily get through. You could try to shut the door or open it further.

Beyond the door you find two flights of staircases that stretch to the right and left, then combine together 150 feet below to a massive courtyard. There are stone statues of snarling gargoyles all along the path on both sides of the staircases.

Perception DC 28 for Vivu and Aukan, 32 for rest to act in surprise round:
Also at the base you see a dozen gnolls with bows and two hyenadons at the base of both staircases.
Someone can try to make a map of the fight.

As Aukan and Vivi get through the door and you hear hollering. Vivi and Aukan act in surprise round after a volley of 12 archers falls upon them.

F$~&ing Cukas, ok, I see several possible ploys. First, I cast a bunch of mists, but honestly thats iffy. Second, this dungeon is looping around things. Maybe we can get at them from an oblique angle. Hmm, can any of you make ghost sounds? I do one casting of mist, one of you makes ghost sounds in the mist pretending we are still there, while we head north and hopefuly wrap around the buggers.
She pauses.

Third option, we pretend, very loudly, that we are 2 man down and cant move Aukan, they could possibly be dumb enough to fall for that but its not a very plausible bluff.

Acid Splash, just aiming in the general direction of where the gnolls were to keep their heads down. I don't really expect to hit anything, but I'll roll just for fun.

Sounds can be made in a lot of ways though!

She moves north, occassionally throwing a random stone into the stationary fog, thus hoping to keep the Gnolls attention focused on the door.

Aukan picks up a few stones to aid Vivi. Then heads to the North entrance.


The north entrance is much more rubble strewn and opens up to winding staircase that go to small landings. No creatures are apparently there.

Making use of the fact that swarms are not known for their great intellect, she mimicks Sasarra action, casting create water on top of the swarm (which doesnt actually do much) and then moves away from both Aukan and Sasarra, seeking to draww the swarms ire by pretending to be the kineticist.

It takes a few rounds before no more centipedes come over the lip of the platform. Slowly heading down more centipedes come up on the other side at the base platform. Your group backs up again and Sassrra smashes them again with water.

It has been 3 minutes or 30 rounds since you created the mists at the other door.

There is no chance for the gnolls to hear you as you start out, they might see you as you move around the great dome to the platforms. You are a 100 feet away from the bottom platform.

You can see the group of gnolls have not moved from their position. Most are looking up the the stairs still. None of them seem to be alert to your location.

Time for your next round of stealth and their perceptions... Using stealth most of you move 20 or 30 feet. As you double move. You are not in combat yet but for ease sake we are going to use rounds, let's use letters.

Given that they've been spotted, she stops sneaking. Standing still, she begins to turn the air around her to water. It swirls around her and she fires at the archer.

Gather power, blast with extended range. 5' step closer. Some of us aren't the type to charge in.

Following Aukan along, iirc i got the same speed he has, and Aukan initiated. Vivi has like, 8 wisdom and probably assumed you are relatively close behind her:)

Sassarra sees Aukan being shot upon and returns fire the archer takes the blast of water in the face.

Most of the gnoll archers were waiting but still unaware, with their fellow shooting Aukan and a blast of water hitting him they all take a moment to breathe before shooting at a target. Some release the hyenas. There is about 20 gnolls in total with 7 hyenas and two hyenadrons.

The hyenas were pulling on the chains holding them, once released they charge forward. Seven of them at Aukan, only three gets an attack.

Liam double moves forward. Auso being the 4th person behind Aukan means you are about 60 feet away from the enemy's front line. Auso releases an arrow into the mass of gnoll archers but with no cry of pain you don't think you hit one.

Now being surrounded by hyenas he opts for a cleave instead of a charge bringing down his blade hard upon them. Vivi would have to charge past the hyenas to get to a gnoll so instead she goes and finishes off one of the hyenas or just double moves to be adjacent to two of the gnolls. They hyenadons move forward carefully through the throng of archers standing between the archers and yourselves. Three gargoyles animate and move down, landing on stone outcroppings near the hyenadons.

Two arrows pierce Aukan's flesh, 11 damage, whereas Sassarra gets hit with four arrows! Taking 25 damage. Aukan great cleaves the hyenas into bloody pieces.

Aukan slices down three of the hyenas around him.

Round 2

Sassara breaks for cover and prepares for the next round. Auso shoots and thinks he hits, it is hard to tell, perception DC 30. Sassara got hit by one arrow taking 3 damage. Aukan continues to slice at the hyenas finishing them off around him. One bite gets through Aukan´s defenses, he takes 7 damage also 5 arrows hit him, taking 2d8 + 5 + 16 ⇒ (6, 4) + 5 + 16 = 31 damage.
