"The stones scattered in the illusionary treasure are safe stepping stones, though not quite as easy to get from one to the next. I MIGHT be able to make it, but don't know if I could do so consistently enough to cross the space."

"I feel drained somehow. Do you have a Restoration?" Grim asked.
He Lay On Hands himself for 2d6 ⇒ (6, 1) = 7 healed.

Merainaa didn’t have a chance to move before her quick friends had dealt with the enemies. ”I can heal a bit with my burning flames, but greater divine tricks are well beyond me,” she shakes her head at Grimoin.

"I do not have that magic, I'm afraid. If we had a scroll or such, I could try to use it for you?"

She says and prays, "Yes, I have one more lesser restoration spell. May the flame restore your foot!"

Grim breathed a sigh of relief. "Yes, thank you Nima."

He suggests, "Sasha would you please scout ahead."

She nods and move forward...

She returns a few moments and states, "You aren't going to believe this, no obvious threats that are moving. Walk slowly we need to gather some information about the room before stepping on the sand. You will see."

Once she leads the group to the chamber she states, "The words carved on the pillar are in Terran, and read as follows: “And lo, those who speak not the truths of Rovagug shall be the first to be consumed by the Waiting Beast,”

You see two stone doors that have been pulled open leaving plenty of room for two medium creatures to enter at the same time. This chamber seems to be a temple with a sand-covered floor. The room shows signs of damage, with cracks running across the floors, walls, and ceiling. In the center looms a huge and horrific many-tentacled creature apparently frozen in a shell of translucent minerals. A single line of runes is carved into the northern face of a low stone pedastal on which this immense monster seems to have been frozen.

The only thing I know about rough bug-friends is that they have one sensible antipaladin commandment, "DIE STANDING"

Vivi offers.

”yeah, sorry. I don’t know anything about religious iconography. Not my area,” the sorcerer adds as she looks at the runes.

"This relates to Rovagug, The Great Destroyer. Given the nature of this god and the message in Terran, there's probably something in the sand which is supposed to eat us unless we give it some kind of password. The Truths of Rovagug."

He considers for a moment. "I seem to remember that Rovagug was the second god to exist, and that he was banished to eat his way through the Abysss before escaping, multiple times, to consume entire worlds in the material plane. He is locked in the Dead Vault, where he awaits his release so that he can consume all of creation, bringing it to an end." He looks at the others. "I think I can remember the outline of a prayer to this wanton act of destruction, but, worship of this thing is illegal basically everywhere civilized. Saying the prayer is probably a crime in and of itself."

"We need to say a prayer... to the BEAST?" Grim said incredulously.

He confidently says, "I say we move along and if that creature gets loose we will take care of it just like all the others. What do you say?"

She nods and agrees with Auso, "Auso thank you for informing us. Saying the prayer is probably a crime in and of itself so we shouldn't do that."

She shrugs and moves to the back of the group.

She agrees with the group stating, "Sounds good, everyone ready to move forward? That treasure room had some nice stuff in it including this necklace. I am surprised it didn't melt." With her glaive in hand she is ready to move forward with the group, ready for the creature to attack.

Grim nodded, relieved.
"Yes, let's move on; and let the minions of the Beast beware!"

I am not offering prayer to the rough beast. And I am probably the most "morally questionable" individual in this group. Vivi states.

Hmm, on the topic of morally questionable individuals, both the Goblin Cleric of Lamashtu we met earlier and my mercenery liasion are very much evil and explicitly bid us to destroy minions of the rough beast. Where Lamashtu and Nocticula part of the extremely broad coalition that imprisoned it? I dont exactly recall.
She poses a question to the more religiously knowledgeable individuals of the group.

I do know that Nocticula is definitly at a state of war with Rovagug from my mercenary contracts and contacts, has been the case since practically forever. Heads of Rovagug Clerics or Paladins fetch a bounty, no questions asked provided you caused their death, same as those of Socothbenoth or Koschtschie, or of these other Qlippoth Lords with completely unpronouncable names. You got any input Sis?
Rovagug, Koschtschie and Socothbenoth are indeed permanent enemies of the Lady in Shadow, one because Rovagug is Rovagug, one because a Mysogynism rating of above 9000 and the third one because well, family business I guess.

I will let you all do something in surprise round to prepare for the coming battel.

As one or more of you step forward onto the sands you see the magical cocoon drop and the sand kraken begins to move forward with its many tentacles flailing around. The tentacles slam into the front three individuals. Grim gets hits once by a tentacle as he bleeds from it. The tentacles going for Alexandria get slightly singed as she dodges them. Aukan gets hit twice by tentacles and bleeds more than Grim.

Prep:
Grim uses Power of Faith (30', +1) (Su) This causes a nimbus of light to emanate from the warrior of the holy light in a 30-foot radius. All allies in this area (including the warrior of the holy light) receive a +1 morale bonus to AC and on attack rolls, damage rolls, and saving throws against fear as long as they remain in the area of light. This power lasts for 1 minute.

She takes a five foot step back and casts hold person upon the beast to see if she can aid the group.

Taking his own advice, the archeologist pulls out a mithral dagger, sighing as he does. I really don't want to get that close, you know? Ignoring his own thoughts and hesitation, Auso pushes closer into the room with the beast.

Round 1
The sand kraken only gets one attack of opportunity and it would be upon Grim. The tentacle gets through damaging him, 8 damage.

Round 2

A rumbling more than just movement seethes throughout the room.

A cracking can be heard behind the group, also the doors on the other side of the room begin to open.

The tentacles rebound off of Grim's armor. Alexandria dodges the tentacles aimed at her. The kraken turns its head towards Aukan, aiming to bite and strike him with its tentacles, most of the attacks hit Aukan, he takes 31 damage.

After the doorway slides back into the wall, the zombies move forward to attack Nima and Sassarra. Their bald heads are covered in rotting skin the color of mud, and their flesh hangs loosely from its bones.

Nima gets sliced as does Sassarra. 10 and 6 damage retrospectively.

CUKA BLYAD, what manner of messed up fool are you, proclaim to be a servant of the rough beast, but you speak Terran? Bugger thyself, I dont speak effing stonespeak!

Vivi pauses as she unleashes some rather stirring insults in Abyssal

Her efforts are clearly more aimed at distraction, perhaps she seeks to provoke it into moving recklessly, as she pokes Aukan with the heal stick some more, making use of her reach.

Round 2

After the zombies move into the hallway from their hidden passage, she calls out, "Aukan pull back and help with these dread zombies!"

She then channels positive energy against the undead.

A spare tentacle aims at Vivi as she casts the spell... hitting her and possibly stopping the spell. Vivi needs to do a concentration check: d20 and add your caster level and the ability score modifier. DC 21.

At the end of the round, the doors infront of you finish opening up, reavealing the Carrion King, with its dark red glowing axe in one hand, it growls at you.

Round 2

She raises up her off hand off of her glaive in order to bring forth fire. A wall of fire to be precise.

Round 2:

Grim maintains his attack on the Sand Kraken, avoiding the all too close wall of fire as he does.

"Blast! I don't have any silver!" He swore, disgusted at trying to gum his way through DR again.

He also Lay on Hands himself (as a swift action) for 2d6 ⇒ (1, 2) = 3 and remove sickened condition.

Round 2

He leaves the Kraken as it is on the other side of the wall. He dashes over to Nima, getting a strike in if possible upon the undead that struck her.

Merainaa casts Scorching Ray at the sand kraken.

Round 2

Vivi tries using her wand upon Aukan but a stray tentacle strikes her and she looses the spell. Sasha backs up. Grim smashes his earth breaker but it barely bleeds from the strike. Sassarra retreats beyond Sasha. Alexandria confidently summons fire to burn the kraken and keep the other foes back. Nima channels obviously damaging them all. Merainaa releases a scorching ray through the wall of fire hoping that it shall strike the large target. Aukan moves back and slashes upon the first dread zombie, with the red frayed armor upon it.

Round 3

The kraken does not come through the flames, with the opaque wall of fire, you don't see what it does. Alexandria continues to concentrate upon the wall of fire. Nima's channels cause havoc and damage upon the undead. Aukan takes some massive damage and even with the healing he looks extremely bloody.

Round 4
The Kraken's tentacles rise from the sand and strike out at Alexandria. Each of the tentacles have an AC of 18 and 15 hp... there are ten of them. Alexandria stops focusing on the wall of fire, she swings her glaive and cuts two the tentacles.

Round 3

She channels again, positive energy washes over all but only affects the undead.

2d6 ⇒ (2, 6) = 8 Will DC 21 for half damage.

Round 4

She channels a healing spell to heal Aukan, positive energy washes over him mending wounds. Her domain spell: cure moderate wounds.

2d8 + 4 ⇒ (5, 7) + 4 = 16

Round 5

She heals Aukan again! Sacrificing calm emotions.

2d8 + 4 ⇒ (6, 7) + 4 = 17 Will DC 21 for half damage.

Round 3

He prepares to take damage from the zombies. Then releases his own attacks. He misses with his cleave and opens himself up as he falters.

Sasha stays in the fight keeping the undead in the hallway. Her knife bounces off of the zombies armor.

The young bard sends a shaft towards the undead, and then tries to get closer to Aukan.

Round 3

He finishes closing with Aukan and tries to heal him.

CMW: 2d8 + 4 ⇒ (6, 6) + 4 = 16

Round 4

He moves back and tries to continue helping against the undead.

Shortbow: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
Piercing: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

Round 5

Auso changes his focus to the biggest threat suddenly being let loose again . . .. The Sand Kraken!

Shortbow: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
Piercing: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

Round 2
Auso's arrow crashes upon the armor of the dread zombie.

Round 3
Auso and Vivi heal Aukan, 20 healing. Merainaa do you want to me within melee range of the zombies? If so then you could shoot black. Though you likely will want to stay back. Merainaa hits green. Grim hits a tentacle but it isn't enough to take it down.

Round 4
Auso's arrow crashes upon the armor of the dread zombie. Vivi takes out one more tentacle. Merainaa hits green. Grim strikes at the tentacle again but misses. Grim misses again and swears. Aukan gets hit and bit by the zombie, 23 damage. Sasha is able to avoid most of the attacks, but one of the sword strokes hits her leg, 12 damage.

Fort DC 15 for Aukan: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (8) + 12 = 20

Round 5

Auso's arrow misses the tentacles. Vivi misses, and takes no damage from her blade. Merainaa hits green. Sasha gets hit once more blood flowing from her chest, 18 damage. The last zombie enters into combat with a massive orc axe.

The undead fail to strike Sasha even with their blades and teeth. Aukan misses his strike.

Sasha once again dodges most of the attacks, one of the slashing blades cut upon her collar bone, 11 damage. Aukan strikes both targets. Including a third damaging them all.

Aukan hits all three of them again, destroying blue and yellow.
