Guess? and Strek both help Melissa hack into the computer. It takes almost a minute, but get into the core system. It takes a few seconds to work through the complex file structure. Thankfully you have lots of time.
1 Round: The Company houses hundreds of employees on Elysia, with more on several mobile terraforming stations.
2 Rounds: Shan is stationed on Terra 5, one of the mobile terraforming stations, along with five other employees.
3 Rounds: Terra 5 is currently crawling along a deep-sea reef about 300 miles away; the crew can save its coordinates and general layout (See the map on Slide 2!).
4 Rounds: A mysterious automated data feed connects to something referred to only as Harvester 1. There's no more details about the Harvester on this system.
5 Rounds: Two Company employees were recently dispatched to Terra 5, though their names and the purpose of their visit have been wiped from the files.
Meanwhile, Jaraduk leads Akh and Del around the area, trying to pick up rumors and the local culture. Those crew members notice that large posters throughout Elysia advertise tour services on the underwater tour boat Avarin mentioned. Jaraduk knows that such boats commonly appear in large Company undertakings; they provide tours that cater to investors and potential clients, intended to instill confidence in their investments or to encourage future business.
You know that very simple computers guide such tour boats, making them notoriously easy to hijack.

"Then we can head over to Terra 5 and track down Shan! And... ummm... I dunno about you guys but when personnel are dispatched to somewhere and the reason for their dispatch is wiped from all records, that's usually not a good thing."

@Ewok: You mentioned the data feed connecting to Harvester 1 is automated - is there any indication of what's automatically being sent there? Or received back from that location?
Akh circles back around to float over Guess? "Yes, unless someone installed flippers on our ship while I wasn't looking, that's probably the strategy that'll give us the lowest chance of most of you drowning. How big are these tours? Will we have to take other people with us? And will EJ know if a tour-boat is off track?" He bobs his head "I assume probably yes."
Melissa_Norveg |
"Group hug. " waves around the Life Bubble spell gem. Until it pops with a fiery burst of air. She hmmms as the ensuing gust of wind , but can have it affect everyone but Akh. Looking at the data stream, it seems there are two types of information. One is definitely a set of updating coordinates. The other is more unclear, just a set up integers that go up and down - unrelated to the coordinates.
Guess? has a harder time finding a buyer than usual - odd for a cargo of alcoholic beverages - but eventually finds a damaya lashunta crew lead. "My boys will love these. 3600 credits for the lot."
Still debating the morality and potential consequences of stealing the tour, you decide to look the tour boat over. You walk a few facility segments over to the booth where a very excitable company representative was sitting on a stool, bored. The shirren perks up as you approach. "Well hi there! Wanna go on a tour?" He shows you some pictures and pamphlets of the tour boats, telling you all the while about the many benefits EJ corp would be providing to the system after "Entha will finally be a useful world. I mean, picture it! Instead of all this useless ocean there will be workable land. Spots for ecotourism, tourism, and water sports!" You ignore him, taking in the information. Unfortunately it seems the submersible tour boat is a bit smaller than you were thinking. It has a large transparent aluminum dome that can hold up to six average-sized folks. You think that if Del and Akh got in the same boat then there would only be room for two other party members. (one Large creature takes up the space of two Medium creatures). Thankfully, the shirren is happy to offer you two boats for your one hour tour. A vidscreen occupies the front of the boat, and an AI gives the tour. Tours take about an hour and begin whenever more than two creatures board the boat. The boat gives an automated tour of the floating platform, circling it before diving under the waves to show off the Company’s innovations. The shirren eventually ends his spiel, staring at you with a broad grin. "Well?! Will you go? Will you go?"
Another interesting consequence of Large characters... There are a number of ways you could tackle this issue. Throw ideas and/or questions out there!

Sounds good! Do we know if hijacking the boat is more computers or more engineering? Guess? can assist either way.
Akh Xi |
Akh makes a show of pondering the boats "Yes. We'll go. A boat ride for six? Hmmm... who will I pick?"
Technically, if there are handholds on the outside and it doesn't zoom too fast, Akh could hold onto the outside of one, but that doesn't solve our problem. Melissa's suggested split seems good to me.
Strek Armstrom |
Strek eyes the submersibles, then casually asks, "My furry friend here always worries about somethin' goin' wrong. Constant anxiety." (no Bluff check needed if it's true, right?) "You got any cameras watchin' these subs, in case one goes offline or somethin'? Or any positional tracking?"
Akh Xi |
"Furry?" Akh looks around for a more sensible member of the team who would better fit the category of 'furry'. "I don't think EJ would risk the poor PR if one of their tour boats had a terrible accident on their new fancy world. I bet these have all the best safety features a corporation can buy. Right?" He peers at the shirren.

Del does something she hasn't done in recent memory: she gives Guess? a pointed GLARE. "Nope, that's not gonna be a thing. That phrase? Definitely not a thing we're gonna say. I mean it!"
----
Del nods at the proposed split, happy that she doesn't have to fold herself up like a contortionist to fit into a single vehicle. Instead, her knees are up by her face, but there's enough room that she can wiggle her toes and show off some jazz hands.
She nods along with Akh and Strek, telling the shirren. "Oh, yes, safety is very important to us. We just love.... not dying!" She decides to stop there, knowing she's likely to mess everything up when she's inevitably forced to lie.
GM Ewok |
The shirren begins to stammer, defensive. "Oh, don't worry! All the best safety checks for these. Our mechanics go over them every week, like clockwork. Hardly ever fail, they do." He nods vigorously, getting his confidence back. "There's not cameras on them, we wouldn't want to infringe on the privacy of our valued guests." He nods slowly and meaningfully. "But don't worry. In the incredibly unlikely scenario that you have a vessel malfunction, then you can use your datapads to contact Elysia and call for help. You'll be within reach of the local infosphere for the entire tour." The shirren gestures to the door and begins to lead you to the yellow submarines. "Besides. Surely if they were unsafe, there would have been complaints lodged at the Better Business Bureau." He chuckles to himself and directs you onboard.
You split into two groups, and an AI narrator speaks to you in a mellifluous and overly enthusiastic voice. "Welcome! Your are about to experience the wonders of Evgeniya-Jaimisson Corporation's work on this planet. Tours take about an hour; please use the restroom conveniently located outside the wharf." The boat's vidscreen shows a cartoon illustration of the submarine giving an automated tour of the floating platform, circling it on the ocean's surface before diving under the waves to show off the Company’s innovations in exaggerated style; you see multiple locations marked with an I: Elysia, Terra 6, Wildlife, The Future of Entha, Leadership. Of course, you'll need to break off the preprogrammed route before the tour ends if you're going to hijack the submarine to search for Shan on Terra 5.

GM Ewok |
Sorry y'all, busy week at work.
You get into your respective subs and the shirren waves goodbye, only slightly perturbed by your comments. Your crafts bob along the surface of the water, moving around the facility as the artificial voice speaks. “Elysia is our primary base of operations as we work to make Entha as beautiful on the surface as it is beneath the waves. The utilitarian facility you see now will eventually be absorbed into a museum of Entha’s history commemorating Evgeniya-Jaimisson’s incredible undertaking here, along with a gift shop for mementos of your unforgettable experiences on Entha.” As the narrator speaks, the vidscreen shows an image of the existing structure with planned expansions superimposed. The vehicles dive beneath the waves and continue to spin around the impressive undersea structure. The main vidscreen lights up with a wireframe model of the architecture then slides over and appears on the transparent dome of the tour boat, overlaid atop the actual structure, still currently under construction in the ocean nearby. “Terra 6 will be the Company’s newest terraforming base, building upon the lessons learned from previous - fzzzzt" As one, Melissa and Strek hack into the submarines and cut off the AI's control. The voice stops, and so does the engine briefly before restarting under your team's command.
Connected on a local network, you are able to speak across the vehicles. Using the coordinates for Terra 5 pulled out of The Company's computers, you switch to a manual pilot for each water craft and adjust the heading. I assume Del will be driving her vehicle, will Strek or Guess? take the second?

After about an hour of travelling, with several more to go before you reach Terra-6, the vid screen flashes with a series of small dots behind you! You turn around a look through the glass bubble to see six fast moving forms in the water. Bubbles stream behind them as the group slowly but surely closes the gap between you. As they approach you're able to make out six humanoids laying down flat on enclosed water craft. You can't quite make out who is inside the vehicles, but you're confident in one thing: they're coming for you! The group gets even closer, and the enclosures above their vehicles slide open in an curtain of escaping bubbles. It seems an android and a group of shobhad thugs are chasing you down, with weapons pointed your way! Map is updated!

Guess?, Akh, and Melissa are fast enough to respond before the assailants can strike! Anyone can open their boat’s transparent aluminum dome, allowing water in (fully flooding the vehicle in 1 round) and reducing the cover provided from total cover to cover. At that point anyone can swim out. You can also reclose the cover a round later. If the Pilot leaves the vehicle, it will just float in place. The Pilot can still drive with the top open. With the top down, you have Total Cover but can only use the vehicle's collision attack to fight back.
You recognize the vehicles as Wavecutters! When their cover is enclosed, they move significantly faster than your tour boat, almost five times as fast. They're about as well armored as your tour boat, but significantly tougher.

@Ewok: I assume we're all currently moving at high speed and with high pressure water around us. If we open the tour boats, would we get swept out and fall way behind the pack of vehicles? Do we need to stop the boats first?"
Yeah... the encounter sort of assumes you realize that they're going to just ram you to death if you don't slow down. So the assumption is that you slow down enough for them to feel comfortable to open their tops. So short answer... all of the boats are close enough to stop that we don't need to worry about the vehicles' velocity.
I think Guess? would be piloting the sub that he's in. If they've opened up their vehicle enclosures, would we be able to execute the run over action on them? If yes, Guess? would try to run over them ...
On land, you wouldn't be able to Run Over because the enemies are still in their vehicles. So they aren't two sizes under you. But underwater plays in 3d... and the enemies are basically riding sci-fi underwater jetskis. So it feels like you could run over just the rider, rather than the vehicle and rider. So short answer... yes.

yellow submarinetour boat? Should I get out and stab at them?Is there anything else to do in the boat for the non-pilots, with no weapons available?
we dropped the top on the convertable and you're life bubbled. So with no other options you could walk to the side of the boat stick your horns/doshko over the side and stab green.
Melissa stays on the open coms "Hey Guys, NO killing And not my usual level of no killing. This could be a decent guy doing a favor for a friend ok? Or have one of those loyalty collar things like her last androids. We could talk about giving the ship back...or just keep testing it for her if she writes back?
Get em! DAKKAAAAAAA
Attack: 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 7 + 1 = 23

"But we got something to do here, we're not getting stranded here without a ship, and if you want me in prison for theft I want her in prison for slavery."

At the words "Reisora'd, Dell replies over the comms, "No, Guess?! NO! That's NOT a thing we did! Don't make it a thing!"
Eying the blue android just floating in the water nearby, she sighs. "Oh, this isn't even fair, really. Oh, well. Maybe they'll learn better for next time..."
Del runs over the blue android.

Akh watches the remains of the tour boat tumble away beneath him. If he wasn't underwater, and he wasn't an android built without much in the way of emotional functions, you'd see a single tear drop out of his eye. He surges in the water, swimming like an eel, and chases after green. "I was planning on getting that boat back to the nice shirren. You won't get away with that." He swipes with his claw at green.
Entropic Claw vs EAC: 1d20 + 11 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 11 + 1 = 32 Damage (B, force): 1d6 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10

To Melissa he comments "I think they're trying to kill us, so being all lethal right back is the least we can do. To be polite."
Melissa_Norveg |
"Thats NOT how polite works. And if you swallow that arm you're on your own this time! Spit it out. Ooouuuutt..."

Can you Crit vehicles?
Good point… I’ll shift the other shots over to your sub, finishing it off and leaving the other one untouched.
Guess? decides to live out his dreams of playing real-life Grand Theft Auto, (just like the sims!) and hops into the WaveCutter. You’ve now got 80 feet of movement, total cover, a bunch of HP, and a higher Collision attack. Hopefully he doesn’t get this one wrecked too… Del joins in on the fun, crashing into the flipper-wearing android. As she adds some scratches to the sub’s pristine paint job, the android rejoins the comms. ”OOF. Exactly, just helping out a friend. Now, you can help me out, and start drowning.” Strek's microwaves cut through the water, thanks to the modifications he made to his gun, and boil a hole right through the android's armor. Thin liquid begins to seep from the android's wound into the water around him.

Melissa's electric eels feel right at home, shocking the shobhad at the head of the group. Akh follows up with a vicious strike, eliciting a cry of pain. "Uh, guys? I'm going to need to back off for a minute." The seriously wounded shobhad flees on his vehicle. Two other gruff voices join the channel, mocking him. ”Oh sure, leave when the going gets tough! ... No paycheck for you, loser! ... Anyways, get the big one! … Yeah, he’s their leader, obviously. … They’re all going to run and hide when they see how easy he goes down. … Yeah, get ‘em!” The trio spread out and fire on Akh, the plasma boiling the water in blurry red lines. Triggering an AoO from Green, followed by Orange.

Jaraduk performs a drive-by goring on the shobhad Del passes by, seriously denting his armor. The public channel quickly becomes a cacophony of chaos as more loud shobhad voices speak over each other and Melissa. ”Nah fellas, it ain’t all about size.” The speaker is interrupted by several loud guffaws. ”HEY! I mean, look at this pink one. Huge. No muscle. No threat. … Yeah, this meathead’s clearly the leader! Look, he was born with weapons! … I know, I felt them!” The remaining two attackers drive circles around the tour boat, getting more distance and firing with their welding lasers. Teal/Light Blue triggers an AOO from Jaraduk.

While both lances of energy find their way through Akh's armor, the remaining two bounce off Jaraduk's.

Guess? |
It appears run over can only be done against targets at least two sizes smaller. The Wavecutter appears to be large and our targets are medium, so run over won't work. However, it seems ram is a possibility, so here goes!
Guess? attempts to pilot his wavecutter to ram straight into the yellow shobhad!! "This is for the poor lil sub you sank!!"
Piloting: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (9) + 9 = 18
I'm not aware of the collision damage dice so can't roll that one this round.
