I appreciate the votes of confidence. This AP is #1 on my Yes, please! list!
Thank you for the invitation. I would be grateful to play with either Table.
You were on my shortlist of candidates too Abel, but as Ventline is wanting to keep the original group together, sounds like you'll be going to her table.
And Mokshal, that's about the jist of it if the candidates are interested. One of the biggest differences will be length. For me, it will be for as long as I can to completion. Ventline only seems intent on doing Book 1 at the most as a placeholder for Kata.

So, just for absolute clarity, ArendK: are you not interested in playing at this table with a level 1, then possibly transitioning to the GM role? I wasn't expecting you to want to pick up a different pre-existing game. I know you said you prefer Discord, I just didn't realize the forums might be a dealbreaker.

I have no problem with playing/running on the forum (might take me a bit to hash out, but I can do it). Probably use slides or something for combat. Communication for OOC is just easier on discord for me because I'm not always available to hit the forums on a whim for PbP. I like sitting at a computer and not my phone to get everything out.
Don't get me wrong Ventline I'd much rather play than GM; but I'm not going to leverage GMing for a player spot; I'd rather get into a game because the GM liked my character design and concept for that character. The character I felt inspired to make for this game may not fit a DMs taste as it was an evil character (functional, but evil) and that's fine. That's why there's GMs recruiting threads; to get a game THEY are happy to run with characters/players they think they will enjoy. You mentioned the sound reasoning of keeping the original group for the interest of integrity if kata returns. I'll get my day as a player eventually; it is just not today.
Sounds like we got a few lurkers popping in; I've already committed Anduil/Archlich and Destinies/Patrickthekid a spot in addition to anyone from Ventlines if they want to transition over because of the book length thing. They will have priority unless my tired brain (just ran Arushalaes Redoubt in WOTR in IRL) missed a reasonable logic why they shouldn't. Then I'll go through the lurkers posting continued interest and flesh out a party. I have a shortlist somewhat already in mind but I don't want to tip that beyond Abel (who's already committed to Ventlines) and posting interest is to me is > my shortlist. There was a HUGE amount of players wanting in on this; this just seems to most rational way I can help the situation and have a good time myself.

Rephrasing what I already de-lurked to say:
What the two of you are doing is tremendous. I heartily applaud your choice to make these efforts.
That is completely independent of any method you choose to use to fill in the second table.
As with any other set-up, pick the people YOU want to play with. Don't let us de-lurking impact your preferences. I already didn't get into this game. You can't hurt my feelings by picking somebody else. <grin>

Which works out about perfectly. Cleric, Oracle, Rogue, Ranger, and the Drowned spiritualist. Not having an arcane will hurt, but its more manageable in S&S than in other AP's.
I'll get our own thread up in the next day or two; if ya'll can transfer your characters there when I do I'm hoping to start around Friday/Saturday.

No problem. Today I had a very mentally exhausting interview for an important career opportunity that just drained me. Tomorrow I'll probably get started putting everything together.
And I think this campaign is one that kinda works better without tons of arcane magic flying around; but I think this group will be fine.

Abel- You were on my shortlist for 2 reasons.
A- The archetype was cool. Points for style.
And noticeably B)- A guy from a culture that outright refuses to recognize the worlds "divinity" as such and is now operating in the single most likely profession (that doesn't work directly for the church itself) that is surrounded by prayers, gods, curses, offerings, and superstitions. I saw so much fun to have with that.
But alas, no arcanists running around my ship!
