(Didn't have time left to post but essentially andy would still wait out an opening or however how the others wish to observe first)
Andochtuir
I don't know if this helps you, Torra, but there seems to be one way for a kineticist to deal nonlethal. Googling:
"The Merciful Wood utility power of the phytokineticist (Occult Origins) says the following:
You can deal nonlethal damage, without taking a penalty on attack rolls with your wood blasts or composite blasts that include wood."
Unsure if your build can take this blast/utility but it is technically possible.

While I will put my share of coin if the team wants to buy helpers, I usually prefer to avoid so. For one, for it involves micromanaging which consumes time on something not inherently fun for me. Then there is also decision paralysis, as the discussion delays action and the pace forward of the adventure. And lastly, because it probably renders a level appropriate encounter into something easy or even irrelevant.
Haste for example is doubling the party weapon damage output, which is not expected until at least one more level.
It is just as valid as any other way to play, I just want to say it is not the style I am used to and I usually enjoy the most. I am fine to try adapt myself for everyone to have their share of fun, but I thought to let you know so you do not remain clueless on why I am not responsive to the subject :)

Sure, that's fine. Not judging anyone.
Regarding this fight, narratively it was described or implied to be very difficult which is why Andy suggested buying a few more scrolls and such. Supposedly there are many more raiders than we faced during the first attack along with their boss, if I read it correctly. Sounds like a rough fight. Espcially since Andy was injured rather badly the first time, he's somewhat apprehensive about rushing in. Yes, the enemies were lucky hitting him that often but he doesn't know that IC.
Aganhei GM
I'm not sure how mechanically threatening it would be if you rushed in, but it would definitely be difficult for me to run. There's over a dozen combatants, excluding you all, and the whole thing would be a mess.
That said, the sheer weight of numbers would probably hit hard (again, from luck), even if you ended up mowing a lot of them down.
Aganhei GM
Worth considering:
Try Again: You cannot use Diplomacy to influence a given creature’s attitude more than once in a 24-hour period. If a request is refused, the result does not change with additional checks, although other requests might be made. You can retry Diplomacy checks made to gather information.
Not sure you'll get anywhere further with this, I'm afraid.

We seem to be slowing down a bit, is everyone doing alright?
Andochtuir
On my end it's just been a very rough week. I'm in the closing stages of a divorce and just about everything that could havd gone wrong on the end of our mediator has gone wrong. Promises were not kept, multiple promised deadlines they could not keep, my ID copy went lost, the lawyer that should have overseen the signing of documents today *forgot* a supposedly confirmed apppintment with us...
At that point my former partner and I could just laugh at it all. We would have been so much better off just figuring everything out for outself or just doing everything through lawyers right away. Oddly it became a horror divorce not due to combat on our end but due to conflict between our mediator denying all this on their end and us, united in dislike over their service when we hired them to *avoid* problems during this proces.
So yeah... i havent been able to gett myself to write as much or well as normal. My apologies. Its just taking lots of energy to keep fighting.
Aganhei GM
That sucks, Andochtuir. I hope things improve for you, and I'm sorry to hear that.
Hirabashi Yuto
Sorry to hear that Andochtuir. Funny you found something in common in this confusing time.
As for myself, I really have nothing more to add, Yuto is ready to wait warmly until the farm is well into their party and we can proceed with our planned attack.
Torra Voliokerdam
I'm feeling a little stuck in the current in-game situation, as Torra has already been struggling with guilt over killing people, and now there doesn't seem to be a way forward without lots more of that - only this time we're not even doing it in self-defense, we're the attackers.
This makes it hard to write moving-the-game-forward posts, I'm sorry. =/
I've also been quite busy IRL as my partner is visiting.
Riftun
I've been struggling with ny mental health lately after a conflict at work. So my depression and anxiety have reduced my posting rate... Sorry, I'll try to do better.
Aganhei GM
Understood, Torra. No worries there.
Riftun: That's why I was asking. You don't need to push yourself too much if you're struggling. I just wanted to be sure that it wasn't from lack of interest or something.

No, no. No worries there I'm having fun.
I mean, every time I click on the spoilers to see what Zaiobe has said I'm unsure if she's going to claw his eyes out or just pout and call him an idiot xP So that's exciting.
Andochtuir
Obviously a completely healthy relationship :)
Hirabashi Yuto
Don't know what else to add to gameplay besides some chit-chat and words of encouragement(you are great Rifting! That could have really worked!! :D)
Is there anything else anyone wants to discuss? At this point, I am basically waiting for the action to move into the farm.
Andochtuir
Don't you kink shame Riftun.
XD
Never! I totally ship them ;)
And uh, yeah... I guess we just wait here until either a few hours pass or we receive word? Should nothing happen this evening we go back to town, rest and heal, and come back tomorrow and then wait for the feast. At least, that would be my suggestion.
Aganhei GM
Zaiobe is both depressed and (chaotic) evil. She's not exactly stable at the best of times.
Aganhei GM
Because it's that time of year again, I'm going to be kind of busy for the next few weeks. I won't get any posts up tomorrow or Tuesday, and there'll be a few more days over the next month that I'll have to take off from posting - more on when those are as they come closer. Sorry about the inconvenience, but holidays and all that.
Hirabashi Yuto
Thanks for the heads up Aganhei!
I am looking forward for this encounter, it looks like an interesting setting, but if we can lower the burden of preparing a multi-character encounter somehow, let's do it and simplify!

Hello friends! It's my anniversary and as such I promised my wife no D&D for the weekend.
Hope ya'll understand :P
Hirabashi Yuto
The AoO on Yuto is because some special ability of the lion? He merely took a 5-foot step back! :)

Uh... I misread that. for some reason I thought you'd moved more than that. Nevermind! Not that it hit anyways.

As with last week, I'll be unable to post for a few days in the coming week - tomorrow, on Wednesday, as well as next Monday and Tuesday, I won't be posting. Apologies in advance.

In a burst of serendipity, I caught covid yesterday. While it's mild enough that I feel functional right now, I may not be able to post with my usual consistency if it gets worse. I don't think it should last more than a week, but... just wanted to make sure you all knew.
Andochtuir
Ouch. Best wishes! We'll be here, dont push yourself.
Hirabashi Yuto
Uff, take care GM, hope it is soon just another life story to tell.
Riftun
D= I'm so sorry to hear that Sensen. Please make extra sure to take care of yourself and take it easy until you're all better.
Don't push yourself on our account.
Aganhei GM
I'm going to assume that the haste targets the PCs rather than Zaiobe and/or Spivey. Because he's only able to hit four people with it at the moment.
Riftun
1 person marked this as a favorite.
Right... i forgot xD
In which case it hits Zaiobe, Torra, Yuto, and Andochtuir.
They'll make the best use of it.
Torra Voliokerdam
A heads up that I'll be travelling from October 24th until November 10th, so my posting rate will decrease.
Aganhei GM
Andochtuir I just checked, and I realized we might've not adjusted all of your stats for the retraining. Unless I'm mistaken, you got Combat Reflexes from the second level of fighter, which would mean that you probably shouldn't have it any more. I think your free feats should be: Throw Anything, Brew Potion, and Exotic Weapon Proficiency. Plus your two feats from level 1 and level 3. So I guess there's just one extra that shouldn't be there.
That's an oops on both our parts, I think.
Andochtuir
Exotic weapon proficiency is a half-elf alternate race trait instead of skill focus. (ancestral arms or ancestral weapon, can't recall atm).
His feats are power attack and combat reflexes from level 1 and 3, exotic weapon proficiency from half elf, phalanx formation from Fighter 1 and brew anything + throw anything from alchemist. His feats are correct as in the sheet I believe.
His previous fighter archetype traded away one of the bonus feats at level two I believe and thus his total number of feats remain the same despite training the fighter level away.
Aganhei GM
Oh, you trained away the archetype? I forgot that. Carry on, then.
Hirabashi Yuto
Riftun point about the haste is a good one, and I want to know if that changes things before deciding if Yuto presses on or makes it back.
Aganhei GM
Hm. You'd have about six seconds-ish left, so I'm going to lean towards saying "not with the head start she has on you."
Hirabashi Yuto
My routines have changed this autumn, but I think I am still giving it a post per day aprox. I hope that is enough here.
Andochtuir
Seems the site ate my post here... anyway, ive Just been very busy. This week is where my now-ex partner moves out of the house so lots of things are ging on in planning/moving etc, which is taking a lot of time and energy. I hope to be back to normal next week. Sorry, I probably should have mentioned this beforehand but then I try not to mention such negative topics.

Got a little sick but I'm starting to feel better. My posts will be daily again~
Aganhei GM
I'll give it at least a few hours before pushing onwards, unless you all have posts. My assumption is you're going to want to head back to Kalsgard and rest at least briefly.
Aganhei GM
I hope everyone's feeling okay. I get the sense we're stalling a bit.
Torra Voliokerdam
It sounds like we have a plan - rest, then in the morning go shopping and also inform the caravan of our whereabouts and plans. I'd just like to know what is available to buy in Kalsgard to help us with swimming.
Andochtuir
Ill post when i get home but basically what Torra said. I'm fine with fast forwarding to the point where we begin the interception.
