Thallin "Thal" Braspur |

Thal, sits on a three-legged stool in The Sitting Duck playing away on his lute, getting the occasional copper, and throwing a wink or two in the direction of a certain barmaid.

Straug Fireborn |

Wow! I’m so excited for this! Thanks for liking my concept and letting me into the group. As i stated in my original post this is my first pbp game and first game as a player in a lot of years though I’ve been running a weekly game as GM for the past six months or so. I’m open to any and all suggestions, critique, ideas, etc so don’t be shy they will be welcomed. On to bringing Straug to life!

Kronk the Cook |

Hey guys! Thanks for the invite! Happy to be here. I created Kronk for a different game, but I am happy to adapt him for this one here, and give him a "humble beginnings" feeling of sorts. To be honest, as much as the character classes would help his build, I think we could "make it work" even with NPC classes for a long way (likely a different game than the GM planned, though).
Anyway, thanks for having me! GM, good job with the details on the campaign tab.
Kronk is an almost middle-aged, overweight cook with a heart of gold hidden underneath some layers of cooking oil. He's brute and roguish in general :)
Being the cook at the Sitting Duck, it's very possible he knows Thal.

Straug Fireborn |

Also, LOVING all the detail for us to look through. Bravo!
Thanks for the crunch Falkwyn I’ll be using your formatting as a template and to make sure i don’t miss anything!

GMMichael |

You're very welcome to it. Just needed something to keep track of everything while I was building my character, and still make it obvious for our GM to know where my numbers came from. :D

Falkwyn Hawksblood |

Dotting probably wont have an alias and stats up until tomorrow night.
Typical rich-boy. Always arrives to the party late to make an "entrance". Aristocrats.

Thallin "Thal" Braspur |

Thal is ready to go!
Thal gathers up a few of the coppers that have been tossed his way and pops his head into the kitchen as he takes a brief break. He sees a familiar face leaned over a pot of soup taking in the scent before adding some more seasoning.
"Kronk, my well-rounded friend," Thal says, making his favorite joke about the chef's body shape, "what say I toss a copper or three your way and you slip of bowl of soup my way, eh?" and he flashes him a sideways smile.
Yes, I definitely agree they'd know each other, and I rather imagine Thal would like the friendly cook.

Falkwyn Hawksblood |

The only thing I think is missing from Falkwyn is assigning kill points and background skills.
* salutes * Listed and ranks assigned, sir.

Straug Fireborn |

Hi everyone at the risk of sounding stupid when I'm building my NPC character when assigning skills and class skills/traits/feats/hp I assume I'm assigning as a warrior and not a Warpriest so any feat requiring Warpriest would not be eligible yet though we get access to the traits straight away? Could just use a little guidance here I've built a few 1st level characters just not sure how this Level 0 thing works.

Psh, never fear sounding stupid because you're asking questions. We were all new to this at some point.
Yes, you are correct. Your level 0 would only have the warrior skills and such. Once you hit level 1 and become a warpiest, you then add those skills to that list as well as weapon proficiencies and so forth.
Thallin "Thal" Braspur |

Thal. starting Gold for a Commoner is 25+ the item...you shorted yourself 5GP
Amusingly, I typed it incorrectly in the heading, but then had the math correct for what I spent and what I had left. Thanks for catching that!

Falkwyn Hawksblood |

Falkwyn, you still get a Feat. The Martial Weapon is part of your race abilities.
Thanks! Due to the wording, I wasn't sure. Will adjust and add Point-blank shot. :D

If anyone wants to give him a once over and make sure I seem to have done everything right and of course Im open to advice before we lock it down. Im using RPG Scribe on my ipad for an automated character sheet and so far its pretty versatile but open to suggestions for alternatives as well.
Now how to get a cool header like Thal hmmmm

Kronk it doesnt appear youve put in your background skills, which means you probably also might need to adjust your adventuring skills
No, it's there - it's Profession (Cook) and Sleight of Hand. Hero Lab simply groups them together.
I usually put my block (on the header) like I did here - would it suffice or do you need me to switch to the other format? I just think the other is a bit "ugly" tbh :$

GMMichael |

hahah. it is ugly...but then it is what it is. I need the stat block for me. You'll see when we get to combat. I run combats a little differently than youre familiar with. not differently for pathfinder. differently for PBP. Its a bit more efficient, and since combat is what slogs down PBP it helps.
so if you dont mind, please ;)

GMMichael |

I took care of it for you Kronk. So you know its more for me to facilitate combat that you to track. Its easier for me to look at a stat block when running combat than scroll back to your last post ;)

Kronk the Cook |

Thanks, definitely - does my header looks better now? I added my "Formatted" one within a spoiler. I'm a little confused if I need to keep the pattern on my headers too, or if you just wanted to have it generated and we can keep our header formatted more "nicely". Cheers!

GMMichael |

to be clear. You can make your header whatever you want it to be for you.
I find that combat moves very smooth when the basics are put so party members know when they finish an opponent etc. yeah it loses some of the mystery...I hope to keep some of that through my posts...
Note this isnt a combat that is happening...at least any time soon ;)

Cathoris |

Hi all. I’m excited to be included. I’m working in my alias now and wanted to check in. I have my build close to done. I just have to copy the info over to the alias. I’ll get the stat block filled out, too.
1d4 ⇒ 4

Alexander Valindir |

Alias is done, will move things over to it soon. Just to say, his last name is pronounced (Val-in-deer).
Having a hard time deciding if I want to go down the more MAD route of arcane trickster or try out the phantom thief archetype. Which plays into how I distribute his ability scores at the start. If anyone wants to chime in on that please do so.
both routes will have him function as a two-handed (elven curved blade)melee fighter with tricks. (either spells, or a vast amount of skills)
ALso, question- I am assuming I will be treated as not having weapon finesse unless I take the feat now? If I take weapon finesse as a feat now, do I need to retrain it once I take a level in rogue? Or could I pick up weapon focus in the weapon I choose instead?

Alexander Valindir |

Also, GM, would you be open to Partial/fractional BaB rules? I didn't see it come up in the recruitment thread. It assumes that-
d10HD classes get +1 BaB every level
d8 HD classes get +.75 BaB every level
d6 HD classes get +.5 BaB every level.
This means, you take two levels of D8 HD classes, your BaB is 1.5, at level 2. This gives you a +1 BaB, instead of the +0 they would normally have. They could then take a level in a d6 HD class, and gain the .5 BaB to hit +2 BaB.

Cathoris |

I've got the majority of the information onto the profile along with a link to a Myth-Weaver's sheet. I'll move more things over as I need it. Is there anything more you'd like to see?
Here's the stat block:

you do not have weapon finesse at this point. once you take a level of Rogue (unchained) yes you get weapon finesse at that point. If you wanted to take it now, you could retrain within the game (which could be problematic because of time involved) to take something else.

GMMichael |

Cathoris dont forget you do get 3 Cantrips/Orisons as well.

Alexander Valindir |

GM, would you allow the alternate racial traits-
Blended view and Dual minded?
Blended View (2 RP): Prerequisite(s): low-light vision. Half-drow whose non-drow parent had low-light vision might be blessed with a legacy of versatile senses. Characters with this trait keep their low-light vision but also gain darkvision to a distance of 60 feet. Half-elves can take this trait in place of multitalented. - I've played sneaky boys without darkvsion before, not something I find largely enjoyable or useful.
However, the trait does increase the race points slightly. So I wanted to ask. Him having a minor amount of drow blood was also relevant to his background, hence the purple eyes bit.
Dual Minded: The mixed ancestry of some half-elves makes them resistant to mental attacks. Half-elves with this racial trait gain a +2 bonus on all Will saving throws. This racial trait replaces the adaptability racial trait.

Alexander Valindir |

I just realized I can't qualify for PA without a higher strength. (I forgot, due to feat tax rules making it free)
This puts a small wrench in my plans, however, it gives me an idea for how to handle the character in combat, that might fit even better with my vision of him. I think I might go for a 13 str for PA, would mean starting at a 17 dex, but other than that it likely helps me until level 3(4). And it opens up the hurtful feat to make use of alongside dazzling display and the like.
of course, this neither here nor their at the moment.
