If I counted it correctly, it will take Brekovi three stride actions to put himself on the battlements over the gate, just in front of Kornel.

Please do this when you do your update, GM Blazej. That should keep things going.

Well shoot. I'm sorry guys. I thought for certain pink was doomed after Jayma's barrage so I picked a different target. I totally should have focused fire on one of the damaged ones. Hopefully Shagrat and Zabu can capitalize on our attacks and finish one or more off.

I apologize for the confusion although right now it seems to have worked out. I don't want to punish people for posting promptly so if there is any uncertainty about what has happened to put in brief notes on targeting in your post.

If it is the case where something happens that completely takes you off guard, like it did here, I would be willing to accept a retroactive "I rather have attacked pink instead" and use the rolls as they were. There might be a line where I might say no, but in general I don't want to punish anyone for guessing if an attack landed and killed an enemy as they take their turn.

Edit: I also saw a note somewhere today questioning the abilities and I wanted to make it clear that the normal skeletons all exploded upon destruction, but the blood covered undead have not.

Do we feed Shagrat multiple healing potions, or is someone going to use Medicine skill on him? I think there was at least one other person with the skill.

I always thought the fort had been built against the side of the mountain and that those cliff faces were actually going up rather than down.

Has the back of the fort truly fallen away down a cliffside like Zabu says?

Prank War Map

It is an an upward cliff rather than the fort collapsing. I should have clarified in that post rather than give a quick, abbreviated and inaccurate answer.

That boundary is neither a cliff edge nor an edge of a mountain. You are on point of a high cliff over the Glass River. So that rock edge on the bottom left of the map is an incline that goes up about 15 feet. Shortly beyond the map it drops to a rapid cliff edge.

In either case it is climbing from the bottom of the cliff is longer and harder than it is climbing over just the fort wall. It would be difficult for non-climbing creatures to make it up that side of the fortress. You would have warning any humanoid undead that comprises the attacking forces.

Thought I would ask before casting it.

Acid Splash

How do you interpret the splash damage? Does the spell do the splash damage to all adjacent creatures and the target on a hit? Is there any effect on a miss? Is it only of use against creatures with a weakness to splash damage?

Normally you only get splash damage with thrown weapons, the most common being alchemical bombs. There splash damage is well defined.

Brutal work Brekovi. Your Burning Hands inflicted a total of 45hp of damage. It'll be interesting to see if Kornel can beat that with his Heal. There won't be anything left for the rest of us to do if you guys keep that up.

Thanks. Things just lined up perfectly in terms of positioning. Honestly, I had halfway expected to be scribing the scroll into my spellbook rather than using it.

Should have cut down on the bugs too. :)

Since I only had it on the one scroll, I will not be casting it again. Still, it is probably the best I’ve seen in years of play. Typically you are happy to get two targets, three is unusual.

I've read through the rules and I understand the issue. The effects of splash damage are not explicitly defined aside from splash weapons (like alchemical bombs).

Looking at acid splash and avatar spells since they are the only items that I found that were non-bomb weapons that do splash damage.

I would say that I interpret that the splash damage in acid splash works like any other splash weapon. (Deal splash damage to adjacent creatures on successful hit. On a failure the target still takes splash damage). Barring any ruling from above, that would be how I would rule it works.

While the rules don't say it specifically, the way that Hei Feng's avatar form works and how acid splash's splash damage scales makes me feel that it is intended to work that way.

If Jayma moves back to her original location on the 20 foot high battlements of the northwestern tower (two squares north of the skeleton captain), what kind of cover would the captain and his mount have to her? Would the captain be able to reach Jayma with his lance at that location?

Are any of the squares on the 10 foot battlements above the main gate within reach of the captain's lance?

Prank War Map

If Jayma moves to her prior position the captain would not have cover (for the purpose of your attacks you can treat the captain as being in any square of the mount's space). The mount would still have cover as the mount is still partially into the doorway.

The battlement is not in reach of the captain's lance.

The reviews of her performance were universally excellent.

Jayma played Desdemona at the New Puddles Theater tonight with a depth of feeling rarely seen on this stage. Her bludgeoning to death of husband Othello in self-defense, and her subsequent electrocution of Iago in the final scene was played with an intensity and joy that left nary a dry eye in the theater. King Zusgut himself came down to the stage after her performance and congratulated Jayma in person. - Maikel Polsen, The Puddles Times

Great adventure, everyone! Sorry to be the slow poster in all this. Though 1/day is usually no problem for me, I've never seen such a group of fast posters in a PFS game! You were tough to keep up with!

Thanks for helping me jump into PF2e!

One good to come out of this 'rona thing is that now I'm working from home and can monitor the PbP business much more efficiently.

I thoroughly enjoyed this PbP. Well played, folks.

This was a very good table and I was glad to have each and everyone of you for it. This adventure is unique and I have been glad to be allowed to tap into this as much as I have.

Here are your Chronicle Sheets. Double check them to make sure the information is accurate.

One thing I would encourage is that you got to the product page and give this adventure a review if you are willing as a player. I don't suggest it enough and it is easy enough to link here and now.

Also, if you do have any criticisms of how I ran this let me know. If one part ran too slow or too fast. If combat didn't feel right to you or if there was any part of the adventure you didn't enjoy. Or if anything went very well and you would like to see more of that as well. I would love any input for other adventures or this adventure if and when I ran it again. Let me know by PM if you rather not post it here.

I'll be still posting bits of the conclusion in the gameplay if you need any details of the village settled before you head out for your next quest.

I'll thank you all for playing. Again, it was a joy to be able to run this adventure for all of you and I look forward to the next after a little bit of a break.

My chronicle sheet looks good. And now I'm 3rd level! Wait until you see the wrestling I do now that I'm going to be Expert in Athletics!

This was a great table. Lots of RP and flavor. You did a good job of keeping up with all that and with the logistics of rebuilding the lodge.

In fact, the only suggestion for improvement I have is, when you're saving the chronicle sheets, start with the character's name. That way, when we look at it in the Google Drive, we can tell which one is ours quickly.

And that is pretty much the only suggestion I have so, how small it is should tell you how good everything was.

I thought you were a spectacular GM! Thanks so much for running that and being so diligent.

Since this was my first scenario, I'm having a little trouble reading the Chronicle.

Did I gain 4 XP and 8 silver?

In first edition you needed 3 XP to level up. Has that changed?

Or maybe someone can point me toward the right guide.

You did earn 4 XP. It takes 12 to level up in PFS 2E (I have a character that has only played chronicles and bounties...he's been in 5 so far and is still 1st level.)

You earned a flat 14GP (the fields are ABOVE the names on the new chronicle sheets and 8 coppers for your earned income roll.)

Zabu answered your other questions.

They changed the XP to work better with quests.

I also thought this was a great run. I think this scenario lends itself better to PbP than it would in person or via VTT.

The chronicle looks fine to me. Jayma and Zabu are remarkably similar in many ways. Jayma will also get bumped to level 3 with this adventure.

I had a lot of fun. I probably wrote more for this adventure than for all the previous ones put together, but RPing Jayma is one of my favorite things, so that's all good. The GM and the rest of the players were great and because of it, I really felt immersed in the adventure more than usual.

No doubt we'll run into each other again in the future, and I will look forward to it.

This was the best PbP game I've played to date and you were a superb GM. Since we finished I've downloaded and skimmed some of the scenario. I particularly like the way you fleshed out some of the NPCs that had little information presented in the text. The Manaro family in particular was very well done. I really like the way that you enabled us to go 'off script' so to speak with oddball tasks like the geckos and the scrapyard. When I GM I am a big advocate of allowing PCs to do cool things and you handled this admirably.

The players were also excellent with interesting characters and entertaining posts. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and look forward to playing with each of you again in the future.

I've posted a review the scenario.
