I'll let the group pick;

You enter town looking for the Inn(The Wise Piper)/Tavern(Grayhands) to rest a bit before continuing on a trip,
but something happens when getting a drink in the Tavern Grayhands
or
You start off in the Tavern(Grayhands)?

And I do plan on starting very soon as I had real life toss a few monkey wrenches at me, slowing me down some in getting everything prepared.

No issue with that, just tell us when you're ready.

In the mean time, I'll finish the equipment part of my character sheet.
I'm going with the starting gold of a Druid if it's fine with you as there is no starting gold in the Nymph class.

starting gold: 2d6 ⇒ (6, 3) = 9

Using Druid for starting coin is fine, it fits,
But it is average gold, so a static number (70 gp), no rolls

Got around to doing that Hieght Reference of the Party.

Had to reduce Texture maps to 1/16th there size and removed all normal maps to get more them enough memory to render it.
Used about 18.5 GB of system RAM.

Looks good! Like the models so far

I'll be tossing in some extra stuff you got from your home town, most won't be great, might even toss in a few gag/prank items for the fey in the party.
Some items are to fix issues for characters that might rise up and will only last until about reaching level 3.

Game play is up

I think the mash-up works for Laire just fine. Holy crap, 18.5GB of RAM? For how long?

Were you planning on fleshing out the mentors for back story or did you want us to do that? Should we come up with names for them as well?

Glad you like it.

The scene before rendering was about 11GB of system RAM, and rendering generally takes it up to 2X - 2.5X what is in the scene before Iray rendering,
but with cutting texture resolutions to 1/16th (dividing both sides by 4) and removing the normal maps it was under the 2X for RAM when rendering.
And cutting out the normal maps really sped up the rendering time as well.
I think it got done in 10 minutes where normally it's closer to 30 for a scene like that.
Glad I upgraded to a 1070 ti two years ago, or I would of been out of Video memory to render it

Yeah, if I didn't use the scene optimiser I would not of been able to render the scene.

And right now Daz 3D is in Platinum Club (PC club) Sale mode for the next month.
Got some nice bundles cheap, and more bundles will be offered cheap for the next month as the month goes by.
Though Platinum Club members get the better deals, and is worth it being a member.

You start out the mentor, with a name, and I fill the gaps and or hidden truths.

Hey, all.
Still here. Had a few harried days while house-hunting and seeing way too many homes. Didn't expect to be doing so, since we had already put an offer on a place which had been accepted...but it all went sideways when the inspection showed that while the place looked good, it was a deathtrap. So we've been running ragged since we already sold OUR place.

Enough about our real life silliness.

1. Great job on the height comparisons graphic!
2. I'll have Falk posting tomorrow morning.
3. Glad to be back...even if ya didn't know I was missing. :D

I put up a text file for Building Location next to the Belhaim map it works with.
Now you all should be able to identify place around town.
Some info is locked until you interact with them or learn more.

Thanks for the file, this is really helpful.

I think we're ok with heading to 35?

Yep, right into the middle of town.

Glad, I keep NotePad++ around for writing notes and looking at code outside an IDE, and it's free.
Since MS is removing or has removed basic programs from Win10 that are useful and lightweight with files.

Agreed, NotePad++ is great. I've never been an IDE fan to be honest, but maybe that's because my space has been unix/telecom/smartphone OEM dev.

I do more with Desktop applications in Windows, and I wish there was a good C# IDE for Linux, the only decent one was bought by MS years ago.

And I really don't like MS EULA's for the past 5 years for their software.
Hence a reason I am moving to Linux.

Another reason I like Notepad++ is since I can read nearly any source code file and figure out how the application works to a degree without needing to find the right IDE and or open the IDE to read the code.

I use Daz studio for renders
and for those that want to tinker with Daz studio and not spend any cash
there is a starter bundle that is currently free.
The Genesis 2 Female based Girl 6 model, but it's something to start with, and it's light on system resources.

Not everyone in town is gonna be friendly, some will be unfriendly, others indifferent, your actions will push and pull them one way or the other.

As you can tell this tavern owner is not in the friendly group.

And appearances make first impressions,
on that note, should I add in the AD&D comeliness system?
This would effect initial reactions from NPCs,
and I'd need to modify it some for the PF system.

Also not seem a in game post from Gallus or Falkwyn ,
though Falkwyn did mention the RL issue taking his time.

----

I have so many ideas, but they are much further along in the game.

Got a map of the area around town up and working on getting some NPCs rendered out as I plan to get as many main towns folk you may interact with a render so everyone has a common image of each NPC.

I'll be work on NPCs as we go and hopefully I can keep up or guess where you head next and have a rendering for them ready.

Seems Like some places I'll be making one extra NPC render....

I'd like it if the posting rate was one per day, so the story and things progress every day.

Updated the Hieght_Reference.
Rendered in under 10 minutes,
currently there is a great deal for getting some good pro bundles cheap, provided you buy a new release.

I'm Working on a small Halloween render of the party for Halloween.
I'll be using what I got....

Happy Halloween

It'll likely be removed sometime next year, so if you want a copy take it.

I’ve been sick the whole weekend. Should be able to post tomorrow. Sorry for the delay.

No problem, colds and flus are not fun.

Thanks! Same to you. So full of food...

Happy Thanksgiving to you all,

I've taken some time this weekend to think and ask questions to myself about the game and have decided I'm not doing the game the service it needs and no where near enough to what the players deserve.
As I've been running games on these boards for nearly 10 years straight, and the battery is running on critically low levels.

So I'll be canning the game, And I thank you for going this far with what I did manage to do.

Thanks a lot for telling us that.
It takes a lot more to run a game than to play in one, so thanks for all the work you've put in this game and in all your other games.

I wish you all the best for this year's end and next year.

Hey - thank you for the game! It was fun for sure and loved the concept. Hope you have a great end of the year.

Thanks for taking the time to try at least and it’s understandable that it’s a time commitment that can’t be maintained all the time, especially with the additional rendering.

Happy holidays everyone and use the time to recharge/stay positive during this crazy year.

For what it’s worth, I’m throwing my hat in the ring and taking a stab at running a 3pp class only game. I won’t be running it at the same level as Azure_Zero did with all the artwork, but in case you want to try some 3pp stuff, here is the link:
