With the nearby threats ended, Aiko bursts into sudden motion in pursuit of Caine.

His slices are wild due to his anger, and it may have affected his ability to strike.
Forgot to add the bonus to flanking. Hopefully that would get a hit in.

Round 5
Caine decides that enough is enough is enough.
Sounds like an NBC spin-off!

This is not fun! Really hoping this fella doesn't have rabbies!

Ameiko Kaijitsu . |

Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27
"Well done Adrian!" she says as she helps Caine to his feet. As she turns to look him over she adds "It looks like that one did quite a number on you. Let me help you with that." Ameiko begins to chant/sing and as her hands weave over Caine's wounds they begin to close.

"Another pack. We should get into a more defensible formation. Group up, everyone."

Kwai Chang Caine. |

Perception DC 10: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23
Caine looks nervously at the wolves as they seem to take an interest in the party.
One already looks injured. I wonder if we could Call of the Wild him?
The Magus shrugs his sore left shoulder that the wolf seem partial of....
He casts Shield. He then moves slowly, placing his branch down, closer to the pack.
AC 20

Adrian Liu |

Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25
Seeing the wolves running up ahead, Adrian stepped forward to meet up with the magus... only to blink as one of the wolves has already been riddled with arrows.
"Yeah... that makes sense," he replied. "Figured she would have an easier time find us than the other way around."

![]() |

The wolves look around at try to find the source of the attack.
They appear confused and unable to determine where the arrows are coming from.
After a couple more arrows fly and down one of the wolves, the rest of the pack decide to flee to the northeast.

Ameiko Kaijitsu . |

Ameiko smiles with the broadest grin you have ever seen. "Come down dear friend! Thank you for your help, although with this group we may not have needed it."
After a minute you see a female elf effortlessly climb down a tree and head in your direction.
"I was hoping you might be nearby, luck is with me today. Everyone, may I introduce a protector of Sandpoint and one of the best shots in all of Varisia - Shalelu Andosana!"
Ameiko does a slight bow as Shalelu approaches.

Shalelu Andosana . |

"Kind praise Ameiko, but not necessary." As Shalelu gets closer to the group she adds "I see you have quite a group you are taking out into the woods." She looks at the slain wolves "You may not have needed my help at all, but I'm always glad to assist a good friend. I was told of your flag and was on my way to Sandpoint. So, tell me why have you asked for me?"

Adrian Liu |

Adrian breathed a sigh of relief when the wolves moved away from them. As well as they did against the pack, he wasn't sure how much more they could take. So the way back was mostly one of awe at the Sandpoint legend. He eventually mustered up the courage to ask a question.
"So... how long have you known Ameiko? He asked, starting with something simple as he turned his face towards the elf.

Shalelu Andosana . |

Shalelu chuckles at the question "Well, I've known Ameiko since she was just a little girl. It wasn't until she was a teenager when she ran away from home that we started our friendship. I met her on the Lost Coast Road - heading to Magnimar. I watched her from a distance until she needed food and water. That is when I let her find me, so I could offer her some much needed sustenance. I told Atsuii that I would look after her until she returned home."
Shalelu pauses and then stops before she adds "Well, I'll let Ameiko share the rest with you."

Kwai Chang Caine. |

Caine watches the remaining wolves retreating back into the wild.
Timing is everything. Hello Shalelu. My name is Caine. Grandson of Koya. Nice to meet you.
The youth seems a bit anxious.

Adrian Liu |

He nodded in response. That would be something he would bring up to her later. For now, he thought for the longest time whether to ask this question. He decided to do so because to be frank, he may not get any other opportunity to ask the elf.
"What you've done for this town. We owe you so much for all the things you've done here and I thank you for that. I just wanted to know... what draws you to keep on coming back here? It's not as if we're the talk of Varisia or anything."

Hattori Aiko |

"Good news about the sword," says Aiko. "I will be happy to put it to use, if the need arises."
"So, Shalelu," she continues, "does this mean you'll be keeping an eye on us all the way to Brinewall? We're following clues from an old chest that was apparently in Ameiko's family, and it might tell us more about her heritage."

@Zaraleva: Between full nights rest and your divine magic, you should have no issue bringing everyone to full. Everyone should restore their HP to max. You should have all your spells available.
Zaraleva has no problem getting an appointment to see Father Zantus.
"Hello Zaraleva, nice to see you again. How may I help you today?"

Zaraleva |

"Father...thank you for seeing me. I...I am apprehensive about this impending expedition. It seems quite dangerous. Am I ready? I am a decent healer and certainly wise for my age, but can I protect an entire caravan?"
"Is this even where Sarenrae wants me? She's so mysterious and distant. She 'gave' me this scimitar and it's deadly sharp, but am I a defender or a healer? Again, can I protect an entire caravan? What if a huge dragon shows up and roasts everyone? Or a band of demons, a horde of giants, a cacophony of harpies, and a LEGION OF LIZARDMEN?!?"
"This is so much...but I can't stay in this town forever. And I like Aiko and the boys... I have to go... very well, I'm going."
"Thank you, Father Zantus, for your guidance."
She gets up to leave, never having stopped talking to let Zantus get a word in. (He could now, before she escapes, if he wants.)

![]() |

Father Zantus smiles at Zaraleva and as she stands up to leave he responds
"Tell me Zaraleva, what are the precepts of your faith? What does being an acolyte of the Dawnflower mean to you? Use these answers to guide your decisions and help you follow the path the Everlight has intended for you.
Know that you are never alone in your endeavors. There are others that will accompany you on your trip. If you are ever in doubt, look to Koya for guidance. She is as wise and she is old.
Good luck to you on your journey. Feel free to inquire about supplies to enhance your restorative skills. We don't have a large selection, but we do have some potions and a few scrolls that you might find useful."
With that an acolyte of the Cathedral shows you out of the priest's office.
The Cathedral currently has 4 potions of Cure Light Wounds and 2 potions of Cure Moderate Wounds for sale. In addition, it has 3 scrolls of Cure Light Wounds and 1 scroll of Lesser Restoration. Using Ameiko's name will get you a 20% discount. You may roll Diplomacy to increase the discount.

Kwai Chang Caine. |

Caine decides to visit the Cathedral in town to see a cleric about some healing potions, scrolls, or even a partially used wand.
Howdy, Father! Great to see you, Zaraleva! Isn't this exciting! What a mystery to solve! I was wondering if there were any curative supplies available for us to purchase for our adventure!
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22
The youth winks.
Amieko is great, isn't she? Oh, did I mention that my grandmother, Koya, is also coming with us?

![]() |

As Zaraleva is about to leave, Caine walks into the priest's office inquiring about the supplies the priest just mentioned to Zaraleva.
"Indeed we do good fellow! I was just telling Zaraleva here about them. Samuel, please guide these folks to the store and inform Marcus to offer whatever items they desire at a 40% discount. Koya has been my friend for as long as I can remember, she has our full support."
When you get to the religious store in the Cathedral, you inquire about wands. "We are currently in the process of creating a Cure Moderate Wounds wand, but won't be finished until sometime late tomorrow. We have just received the necessary items to begin crafting a new wand, but it won't be ready for until the day after tomorrow."

![]() |

If you wish to purchase anything from the Cathedral you may post it, but I am going to proceed with the AP.
Everyone gathers at the Rusty Dragon in the morning with a hearty breakfast awaiting them. Plates full of circular cakes covered with a sticky brown liquid with thin strips of fried pork are served for everyone to enjoy. Juice and coffee is brought out along with trays with cheese and fruit. Fresh bread and butter is available to those who request it.
You dig in and consume the hearty meal anxious for the trip to start.

Ameiko Kaijitsu . |

As she finishes her breakfast, Ameiko stands and goes into the kitchen. After a few moments she emerges and gives the servers hugs. Finally she speaks in a broken voice as she embraces Bethana "Take care of the place while I'm gone. I'll send Torik here with a message every few days to let you know how we are doing."
A small raven squawks and flies onto Ameiko's shoulder.
"Is everyone ready?"
