"I think we would stand out in these clothes. Let's find out if we can return to our rooms and change into our normal traveling attire. I very much doubt the festivities are going to continue. However, I imagine there is still food for the reception. Maybe we can grab something quickly on our way out. I also don't want to get mixed up in whatever squabble the Weatherlys have with the Rankoffs."
Ameiko follows Caladorn through the portal and exclaims "I never would have imagined that would happen. As much as I would like to help, I've just seen magic being used that I've only heard in stories. I think we are in over our heads here. We should return to the manor to get our things and maybe we can get some answers."
Ameiko follows Caine through the portal and exclaims "I totally agree Zaraleva! I never would have imagined that would happen. As much as I would like to help, I've just seen magic being used that I've only heard in stories. I think we are in over our heads here. It might be best to excuse ourselves but isn't all our stuff still at the manor?"
Ameiko moves up and stabs at the creature with her rapier. Rapier attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14
Reflex DC 20: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21 The bard's quick reflexes manage to damage the creature without exposing her rapier to the damaging acid covering the creature.
It has been a while since Ameiko has last ridden a horse. Her life at Sandpoint has fallen into a routine that can be boring at times, although she did enjoy having the time to play her samisen. The rituals Koya presided over that occurred every moonday evening gave her a chance to hone her singing skills while gazing at the stars above. She began to sing a song taught to her by her mother when she was just a child. Song Lyrics on Tien:
Flower of jasmine, so fair! Flower of jasmine, so fair! Budding and blooming here and there, Pure and fragrant all do declare. Let me pick you with tender care, Sweetness for all to share. Jasmine fair, oh Jasmine fair. She pulls out her samisen and loops the horses' reigns in such a way as to continue to control the mount while she strums. She continues the song accompanied by the stringed instrument sounds. Song Lyrics on Tien: What a jasmine flower! Of all the fragrant flowers and grasses in the garden, there is none as fragrant as it. I want to pluck one and wear it, but the gardener would scold me. What a jasmine flower! When jasmine blooms. not even snow is whiter. I want to pluck one and wear it But I'm afraid those around me would mock me. What a jasmine flower!
"That's exactly it! You always did understand me. I wonder what we are going to find in Brinewall. There is so much about my family's history that I need to discover." Ameiko sighs and continues to look out over the city. After a few minutes of enjoying the view she exclaims "Whoa! How long have we been gone? The others are probably worried about us. We need to get back." Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
As she begins to stand up, an arrow from a nearby rooftop lodges in her left arm. The bar owner cries in pain as the wound in her arm begins to bleed as she pulls the metal tip from her bicep. "...and we better hurry."
As Aiko reaches the roof and the bandit threat leaves the area, Ameiko takes in the sights of the city looking out over the Velashu River and the Varisian Gulf to one side, the Curchain Hills to the other along with the numerous buildings and rooftops of Riddleport's more affluent section. "Quite the view isn't it? I hope whoever that was doesn't come back. It would ruin this beautiful moment." As Aiko sits down next to Ameiko, the bard leans her head to rest on her friend. "It's so nice to share this with you Aiko."
With Aiko's warning, Ameiko turns her head in time to see a dagger come flying her way. Dagger throw: 1d20 + 4 - 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 - 4 = 13 Ducking the high flying dagger, Ameiko responds "Thanks for the heads up." As Ameiko draws her rapier, the bandit scrambles off the rooftop, jumping down to an alleyway connected to the adjacent building.
"Let's go and see what we can see." Ameiko impetuously jaunts over to the building, takes a quick look around and when no one is looking, leaps up and catches a lip protruding from the wall from the alley side of the building. She quickly climbs up the tower and when she reaches the top, she makes sure the bell clapper does not move. "C'mon, what are you waiting for?" she says with a huge grin while beckoning at Aiko.
"Sounds like fun..." Ameiko says as she scans the cityscape skyline for a rooftop that would provide a fantastic view. "What about that one?" she asks while pointing at a three story building with a spire that extends up more than Ameiko and Aiko together. "If we can climb onto that campanile we could see the whole city."
"I asked my mother that and she told me that there are two meanings. One is related to an ancient custom of giving jasmine flowers to celebrate something special and dear to the recipient. The other one talks about the fear of harvesting the flower. Its delicate nature requires care when plucking it from its vines." She pauses as her mind drifts back to her childhood recalling the special moments shared with her mother. You can tell she is experiencing a mixture of emotions, both pleasant and sad.

The wand in Ameiko's hand becomes visible as she approached Caine. She says a word and a soft blue light emerges from the wand flowing through the bard's fingers as she touches Caine's shoulder. Healing energy infuses the magus and his wounds appear to be closing. Cure Moderate Wounds: 2d8 + 3 ⇒ (8, 6) + 3 = 17 "That should help, we need to watch out for Shalelu's arrows."
