"Oh no! Three of my potions are broken." She shakes her head adding "They can be replaced, but I'm not sure this dress was worth the trouble."

"I left my things in my room and I would really like to change out of this dress. I feel really strange dressed like this in the streets of this city."

Shalelu continues her assault on the goblins between them and their exit.

longbow attack on White: 1d20 + 11 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (8) + 11 + 1 - 4 = 16
longbow damage on White: 1d8 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 + 1 = 6
longbow attack on White: 1d20 + 6 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (3) + 6 + 1 - 4 = 6

Her first arrow hits the farthest goblin in the throat. The second one misses as the goblin falls to the ground.

Shalelu contines her assault on the brown goblin.

longbow attack: 1d20 + 11 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (19) + 11 + 2 - 4 = 28
longbow damage: 1d8 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 + 1 = 5
longbow attack: 1d20 + 6 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (3) + 6 + 2 - 4 = 7

This time the first arrow strikes the brown goblin in the chest. It falls to the ground. As the goblin falls, Shalelu is unable to switch targets fast enough and the second arrow sails wide.

Posh is up

Noticing the affect Filona's magic has on the goblins, Shalelu sees if her arrows will add to the confusion.

Longbow attack on Brown: 1d20 + 11 - 4 ⇒ (6) + 11 - 4 = 13
Longbow attack on Brown: 1d20 + 6 - 4 ⇒ (14) + 6 - 4 = 16
Longbow damage on Brown: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Her first arrow sails high, but the second one grazes the shoulder of the brown goblin.

As she watches them leave, her jaw drops and she replies

"Neat trick. I've never seen anyone do that before, but to be honest, I'm not sure I've ever seen anyone try to do that before. I usually just kill them, but your way is much easier. How long do you think they will leave us alone? Do you think we have time to escape?"

"Uh, guys? I think I hear sounds from further into the cavern. I think we are going to have company real soon."

@Filona No combat is ongoing (Gundar's attack didn't happen - yet)

Shalelu moves into the space vacated by Gundar. Making sure her shots do not hit the cavalier and his mount, she fires two shots at the blinded foe.

composite longbow: 1d20 + 11 - 4 - 4 ⇒ (11) + 11 - 4 - 4 = 14
damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
composite longbow: 1d20 + 11 - 4 - 4 ⇒ (5) + 11 - 4 - 4 = 8

The first shot lands in the bugbear's shoulder, the second shot sails wide to the left - barely missing the dwarven cleric.

"I'll keep an eye out on the door Caladorn locked - just in case."

"I'll stay out here and watch our backs."

"Sorry Filona, but we don't have time to tie them up and if we just leave them, they will attack us later. This cruelty is safer for us in the long run."

She shoots at the Red dog and the arrow does enough damage to finish it off.

When the second dog falls, Shalelu acts quickly. She nimbly moves through Posh, Filona, Caladorn and the Red dog to position herself for a bow shot. Taking aim at the goblin holding the chain, she fires.

Composite longbow attack: 1d20 + 11 - 4 ⇒ (15) + 11 - 4 = 22
Composite longbow damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

Her first shot pierces the leader's right eye penetrating the skull. It slumps to the ground.

Shalelu descends the tree she had climbed and joins the group as they discover the dead bodies.

"There's got to be a clue to what happened to them around here somewhere. Everyone keep looking."

"I see signs of a struggle this way." she cries while pointing to the south.

The direction is off the trail you followed on the way to Roderic's Cove and not that far from where you were ambushed.

"Don't worry Filona, we should finish it off here quickly."

Shalelu continues her assault of arrows on the creature.

composite longbow attack: 1d20 + 11 - 8 ⇒ (14) + 11 - 8 = 17

composite longbow attack: 1d20 + 6 - 8 ⇒ (7) + 6 - 8 = 5
composite longbow damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8

As the second arrow plunges into the ooze, its form begins to shake and the surface wobbles. You watch as the ooze collapses into a puddle.

Shalelu continues her assault of arrows on the creature.

composite longbow attack: 1d20 + 11 - 8 ⇒ (1) + 11 - 8 = 4 D'oh!
composite longbow attack: 1d20 + 6 - 8 ⇒ (9) + 6 - 8 = 7
composite longbow damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

Worried about hitting the gnome, her first shot sails wide. Taking a breath and focusing her second shot is enough to hit the creature.

"If we find any kind of tracks to follow, I can help in that area."

Shalelu hears Filona's cry and quickly moves into the room. The sight of the watery "arm" grabbing hold of her results in two quick shots from her bow.

composite longbow attack: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (12) + 11 = 23
composite longbow damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
composite longbow attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20
composite longbow damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9

Her two arrows easily penetrate the watery mass. You notice that both the metal tips and wooden shafts begin to dissolve.

Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21

"While I agree that burning the webs will deal with the spider, I am not convinced that it will pursue us if we just leave it alone. And since the captives are not in that room, I suggest we just move on and not provide the creatures herein any evidence of our tresspass."

"These will provide us with extra light without the possibility of spreading fire." Shalelu responds as she grabs two sunrods from her backpack. "Who would like her carry one? I prefer to keep my bow ready - in case it is needed."

"Kidnapping goblins, of course I'm in. You had me at goblins." and you hear Shalelu laugh, which is a rare display of emotion from her.

Shalelu descends the tree she had climbed and joins the group as they discover the dead bodies.

Survival: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 = 16

She grabs a leaf from a bush and points out a drop of blood "Let's see if Walnut can follow the scent." The ranger brings the leaf in front of the giant weasel's nose.

"No time like the present to start working on your tracking boy, try and follow this scent." Posh says to Walnut.

Between Walnut's nose and Shalelu's eyes, you follow the trail of blood and the floral scent from what you can only assume is a woman's perfume. You expect to reach the end of the trail quickly, but the search continues for several miles. As you follow the trail the sounds of chirps and hoots get louder. It is as if there is a huge flock of birds and other creatures of the forest up ahead.

As you emerge from the forest, at its edge you spot an enormous tree-like growth hundreds of feet in height. At its center is what appears to be several tree trunks twisted together. The trunks are surrounded by arm-deep shell of vines. Numerous birds scatter and fly away as you approach.

"I see signs of a struggle this way." she cries while pointing to the south.

The direction is off the trail you followed on the way to Roderic's Cove and not that far from where you were ambushed.

"If we find any kind of tracks to follow, I can help in that area."

Shalelu quickly climbs a tree and searches for missing horses.

"I see them! They are grazing in a clearing about 200 feet to the west."

Shalelu fires two more arrows at the remaining werewolf.

Shalelu continues her assault on the enemies of the caravan. She fires two more glinting arrows at the red werewolf.

Longbow attack: 1d20 + 11 - 4 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 11 - 4 + 2 = 16
Longbow attack: 1d20 + 6 - 4 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 6 - 4 + 2 = 15

Both arrows miss their target and Shalelu says

Elvish:
"Arg! I despise these things! I can't seem to hit them either."

Shalelu emerges from the forest with her bow drawn and fires at the werewolf next to Caine.

Longbow attack: 1d20 + 11 - 4 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 11 - 4 + 2 = 22
Longbow damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Longbow attack: 1d20 + 6 - 4 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 6 - 4 + 2 = 18

One of Shalelu's arrows strikes in the back of the werewolf and it howls in pain.

"There may be more in the wagon, but I saw this first. After I saw them fall to color magic, I decided to rush right over here."

Shalelu emerges from the trees and seeing the fallen werewolves cries out "I found this in the wagon, we might be able to save these men. It is wolfsbane. I have seen it used to remove the curse they are under."

"There is a wagon in the trees ahead to our left. Perhaps it might have something to help us. I will try and scout the area."

Shalelu moves quickly and quietly out behind the caravan and disappears into the trees.

Knowledge nature: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25

Shalelu awakens quickly and moves along side of Sandru. Looking ahead into the forest she cries out "They are werewolves! We need silver! Does anyone have any silver?"

Knowledge nature: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27

Looking ahead into the forest the nimble elf cries out "They are werewolves! We need silver! Does anyone have any silver?"

Shalelu nimbly hops from the supply wagon and moves over to the closest tree with bow in hand and her quiver quickly slung onto her back. She climbs the tree looking over the trees to spot the threat to the group.

"Prepared as I can be Ameiko, let's be off."

"Prepared as I can be Ameiko, let's be off."

"It looks like I'll be keeping watch all the way to the northern most reaches of Varisia. Do you think whatever you are looking for is hidden in the castle Ameiko?"

"Brinewall is a long trip. Are you sure you want to do this Ameiko?"

Shalelu looks at Adrian and replies with a smile "Someone’s got to keep an eye on you all."

Shalelu chuckles at the question "Well, I've known Ameiko since she was just a little girl. It wasn't until she was a teenager when she ran away from home that we started our friendship. I met her on the Lost Coast Road - heading to Magnimar. I watched her from a distance until she needed food and water. That is when I let her find me, so I could offer her some much needed sustenance. I told Atsuii that I would look after her until she returned home."

Shalelu pauses and then stops before she adds "Well, I'll let Ameiko share the rest with you."

"Kind praise Ameiko, but not necessary." As Shalelu gets closer to the group she adds "I see you have quite a group you are taking out into the woods." She looks at the slain wolves "You may not have needed my help at all, but I'm always glad to assist a good friend. I was told of your flag and was on my way to Sandpoint. So, tell me why have you asked for me?"

"Kind praise Ameiko, but not necessary." As Shalelu gets closer to the group she seems to be looking very closely at Caladorn. "I haven't seen you around these parts, do I know you?" She pauses as if straining her memory and adds "I have met you before, haven't I? In Crying Leaf while I was visiting family, am I right? Now that I think about it, you didn't stay long. The rest of the family wasn't very welcoming if I recall. What are you doing in Sandpoint?"
