Okay, one final post on the shopping then before I finalize Sorogar's sheet...

@Brek Generally, I'd suggest not holding back at all in life or death fights XD. To quote Herk, go big or go home! On the cloak, as a caster I'd usually pick a cloak of resistance as I'd be really scared if you got mind controlled by a Rakshasha and started throwing non-friendly fireballs at the group. That, ah, probably kills us much quicker than your ac being lower :P

Plus, the +2 cloak of protection is worth 8000 gold while we can craft a +3 cloak of resistance for 4500. Actually, on this topic, since the cloak of protection +2 was one of my items that I'm giving away, would you agree trading it to the gold pile for 8000 gold and that I'll make you the +3 resistance cloak instead? That leaves me with 3500 gold to get my own AC up slightly higher by enchanting my armor.

@Herk I have one final question for this personal shopping part:

-What happens to the +1 rings we have that were geas-ed? These are worth 2000 gold each. We could destroy them, but before we do that, does the hoard accept them being traded for gold? Or were they already destroyed? Can't remember atm.

Putting it on the cloak requires gold that I don't have (I guess the cloak is 8k itself which technically belonged to me). It can only be done if Brek wants to buy that. That aside, by fusing these two items into one (ring of protection + cloak of resistance), doesn't that mean he'd have to pay 50% more every time he wants to upgrade the resistance part further? That's the normal rule for adding properties onto other items. It's not very cost effective especially since this is probably the only place we can sell things at 100% value. But maybe it can be argued for time reasons to do it like this. Crafting a new +2 ring + +3 cloak takes 8.5 days whereas adding +3 resistance to the existing +2 cloak is 6-ish days.

In the end it depends on what Brek wants.

Yeah, that would need to come from Brek's money, as you are right, it was your cloak, so it needs to be upgraded by his gold, not party gold. I think that's fair since I know both you and I have upgraded our items from our own money as well. It's just really hard to keep track because we have shifted everything around and borrowed money, shared party money, and given it to each other at certain moments. It's crazy!

As for the cost of the item, I really have no idea. It is unique. The rules say it shouldn't be possible unless it is divine or beyond mortals. To have a Forge Ring enchantment such as protection in a slot for a Craft Wondrous resistance bonus is difficult enough. Then adding an ability, I have no idea. It could be as simple as paying the cost of increasing it from a normal cloak to a +3 cloak of resistance, or it could be 50% increased each time we upgrade it or even more! That's up to Herk.

As for making the ring, do you even have Forge Ring? If not, then we couldn't even do the alternate. If you did have forge ring...I would be happy :P, but I may take that so you don't have to. I'm sure Brek would love it if you took Craft Staff or Rod.

Yeah, before this, I thought rings and rods/wands counted as wondrous items for the sake of crafting feats but unfortunately not. :')

I'm not sure I'll ever be able to make the metamagic rods as they require both the craft rod feat AND the metamagic feat the rod is emulating. I simply don't think I can spare those two-five feats still (I need at least quicken spell and extra hex somewhere in the next few levels for myself. And I was hoping to get eldritch heritage for the Orc bloodline as the last few feats). I'm thinking of possible outs to still craft the rods but can't think of anything. Think Brek might be forced to buy the rods at full price somewhere...

You don't have to take the feat if you don't want it. Ohime actually could use rods too and might take that feat or retrain one of her old feats for it (perhaps master performer as she feels a bit overpowered with it).

Crafting Rods will just fall under standard item creation rules, meaning that if you don't have a prerequisite, then it just adds 5 to the DC of making it.

I reread the post and the only thing that I can see about clarification is the cloak. Last I knew it was in Brek's possession n the bag.

Sorogar gave the cloak to Brek just before she went to talk to Krokkin when it looked like he had a hard time.

@Brek Okay, thanks. I could make a lot of these items on your list the road as well by the way. Realized I could simply craft a bunch of level 1 potions of keep watch for like 25 g each and Sorogar will just craft in the time she'd normally have to sleep and the party is resting anyway. So if you don't want to pay full price for anything, you don't have to.

Of course, you could simply buy most of it back at the lizardfolk town if you decide to go there and buy it at once to save time. Your call!

Since I'll sell the +2 deflection cloak then and going to be rounding off my shopping definitevely I'd like to ask about one specific item:

Would you allow this to work for a shaman as the witch/oracle hybrid class? The shaman's own version is the Chant Hex, though Cackle has the exact same effect. However, I'd understand if you said no to this one as shamans aren't witches in the end, and similar items do not seem to exist for shamans.

If yes:
-Craft the Hexing Blouse for 3 k
-Upgrade armor to +2 = 2k
-Upgrade cloak to +3 =2.5 k.
-500 g left.

If no:
-Upgrade cloak to +3 = 2.5 k.
-Upgrade armor to +2 = 2 k.
-Make a belt of str +2 = 2 k
-Make an amulet of natural armor +1 = 1k.
-500 g left.


it doesn't look over powered to me SOrogar. Go for it

Also Sorceror Level 8 is likely Brek's last stop as Sorceror as I'm considering dipping to go into another class.

Original plan was to go Mystic theurge but I spent a little too long on Sorceror. In game Brek hasn't found a religion he identifies with lol.
Oracle might take some time to pull off.

@Herk Okay, I'll finish up tonight then.

@Brek Hm. Mytstic theurge is an awesome concept but In my experience, it tends not to work too wel as it leaves you very far behind for a lot of the higher level, better spells. Oracle delays it even more as you only get 2nd levels spells at Oracle 4.

That said, there are a cleric and druid archetype that key off charisma as well, and those might get you in sooner, after level 3, namely Feyspeaker and Elder mythos cultist. Might be worth a look too?

You can always retrain to alter those lower levels to a different class.

Your concern is that you haven't found a god or goddess yet that seems to match, but you follow the path of the phoenix. Even for clerics, you can choose to follow specific ideals and not deities. If your intent is to follow flame, I'm sure gods and goddesses of the sun and such will gift you power, if not a deified phoenix somewhere. I wouldn't let that stop you. Don't forget this line:

Krokkin is doing better. I "talked" with him yesterday. I did not mention game because he needed the opp just to update and i didn't want him feeling pressured at all with his healing. Hopefully he'll be back to joining in soon.

Ohime notices Krokkin's change in behavior. For her own change, the pain subsides after a couple of days and she is left to her harvesting in peace without threat so she begins to recover emotionally.

They set out again and head now toward where the hobgoblins were rumored to have existed. With the river nearby, she will try to find an eddy in the heavy flow of the waters to take a bath at some point. Cleanliness to a serpent is important, even though filth may not be as apparent on her scales as on human skin. She gathers herbs along the way and takes a record of the various new plants and bugs she finds. Their venoms and bites hardly bother her due to her vicious blood, but she will try to evaluate them with safety regardless.

When she finds the moss and roots, she has been testing them out to make sure they are safe, but this time with the mushroom, she couldn't see. As it puffs in her face, she shakes her head as it tries to poison her, but she finds she is able to resist it. (+15 vs poisons for future reference. If it is a poison, you add her HD.)

"Ooo, an inhalant poison. You are a nasty little one, aren't you? Let's see if we can't harvest some of you for later. Maybe put you in a throwable pouch."

By taking her time, she will add it to her collection of herbs.

I'm still waiting to hear the results of her herb mixing

Viable. Its going to be very hard to use it against the cloak its quasi-level artifact for lack of better explanation. You can roll for the cloaks fort. Unless it rolls a 1,2, or 3 it will beat the dc.

Weapon blanch usable x1 lasts 5 rounds or until next successful attack which ever comes first. Has a dc 15 to resist effect. Apply takes 1 round and has dc 10 sleight of hand or poison use feature to avoid "poisoning" your self resulting in 1d2 wisdom damage for 1d4 minutes

The leechwort touches on healing and black amaranth touches on the realm of necromancy. Ohime will try to combine these two into a paste that either works to remove negative levels over time or damage caused by ability drain.

result was different than expected. Results in reversing your healing ie: healed by negative damaged by positive. Effect poison/ cure 2 saves/ dc 14 /duration 1d6 rounds or successful saves. paste actually turned into a poweder after several minutes resulting in an inhaled poison instead of a paste.

Like we said a few times, we cannot craft the rod. Ohime will either pick that up at lvl 9 or we'll find a store on the way (who knows?), but in the meantime, we can craft the other things for you on the journey.
