lets just stay in status bar then. I went for warren so whom ever is in order...krokkin I believe so we can expect a post monday from him.
Srry warren I forgot it was sunday so I went for you. Didn't mean to exclude your options and feel free to do other than what I poste we can modify it easy right now.

I am assuming that if the vine is not already dead before my turn that the amount of damage I did after what I saw from Mosley and Warren.

Not being sure who Moseley was talking to, and not seeing anyone else pick through the belongings, Warren whistles for Fencer who trots up to him now that the coast is clear. Warren stows the machete, the silver, and the gem in the pack saddle.
I had already "claimed" some of the loot, KK

Thanks Warren, for some reason that did not process when I was reading it earlier. I just wanted to make sure we did not leave the money and gem behind.

My post will be a bit late today, i expect in about 7 hours from now. If you want to dm pc it instead, Sorogar would have tried to check what was wrong with the animals. Diplomacy to the ogre that we found a peaceful grove up north (the one behind the vines, she would steer the caravan away from flit as promised) but that things felt wrong around it. Whether he trusts that instinct or not is his call, of course.

What do you all think about Grenon's silence to posting?
I don't feel once a day is unreasonable.
This happened in one game before and we ended up having to bot his character until we became frustrated enough to a point he also dropped from game.We killed it off at which was frustrating to say the least.

Wasn't he the friend you mentioned in the recruitment thread who was testing things out and wasn't sure whether or not he wanted to commit?

I know that the odds to the last few rolls have been nigh impossible. I wanted a chance for you to learn but it was intentionally a very steep chance as the creatures, language, and situation were completely foreign to most of you. However to be completely fair I did feel like I needed to give a chance of some sort. Thus the high DC's
Just wanted you all to know my reasoning.

That's totally fair, and I don't mind the high DC's. Actually, I think that for an entire party, with assumingly only one person having to make the check, those are pretty fair target numbers. I'm just really surprised that Sorogar and her familiar somehow made all those rolls. Napkin estimates are somewhere around 1 in 100, or worse If Brujah himself had to make the wisdom check (he somehow did) Can I leech some of that luck to tabletop? :')
Krokkin
Sorogar just as a point of note. Krokkin missed everything the evening before as he went straight to his tent and fell asleep. He truly has no idea of the events that happened with you and your bat.

Hey Everyone,
Herk just sent me a message. His area is experiencing a power outage that is estimated to be 48 to 72 long. He will be delayed in being able to post. Please let me know if you have questions or concerns.
Sorogar Twintusk
Thanks, that is good to know.
On that matter, I wanted to let you all know that on the coming monday, my son is scheduled to be born. However, my wife is feeling a bit restless and suspects this guy might have improved inititative. So... there's a chance I am suddenly absent for two days, prior to this. I'll try and let you know if this happens.
Warren Motter
It just occurred to me that I put background skill points into Profession (shepherd), but I probably should've put them into Handle Animal (I'd forgotten that skill existed), since his family had more than sheep on their farm... @Herk: is there any way I can retcon that?
Good to know about Herk's power outage, thanks.
Congratulations Trevor86! Kids are awesome!
Sorogar Twintusk
Thanks Herk, and sucks about the power outage! Hope it's fixed soon.

Hey guys. My family has to evacuate due to respiratory problems from the smoke. Ended up getting stuck in the middle of nowhere for almost 7 hours yesterday due to a fatal head on collision that we were less than a half mile away from when it occurred. It was literally just around the corner. We are now in a better area winds are beginning to shift again and we will be back on the road tomorrow trying to get back around it. Even a day or two of better air is work it. The site quality index were we were was at 285. That is the highest end of unhealthy. We are now in an area sitting at 48. I am also typing this on cell phone.
Crazy week. Stay safe everyone

Damn. Take care of yourself!
Is there some huge forest fire going on in your area (USA, right?) or something? There hasn't been any news on any recent large one in Europe.
Mosely Terrahap
The sky outside varies between gray and orange. Northern coastal areas are getting ashfall; southern areas are having clouded weather that has, in some places, dropped the temperature by 20 degrees or more (F).
I got lucky, the fire got stopped before reaching my suburb, but there was a point maybe a week and a half ago where the fire dept. drew a line and said "We hold the fire here, if we can't stop it, we abandon the city it's all going to burn to the ground."
Krokkin
Hey Guys. Just got back into town. We had gone to bend, OR because of the air quality. The winds changed and now bend is up to 530 on the index. Eugene is not much better at 433. However the two days out of heavy smoke was really nice. I will post a little later after I get everyone settled in for the evening.
Thanks for your patience and understanding as we all deal with this craziness.
Herkymr the Silly
hey all. we got a generator so I will have intermittent access for a few days til power comes back on. Going on 5 days now no power. Glad out water heater is gas powered or that would be insult on top of injury. :)
I am wanting to know if we want to pick up a fifth player? Grenon appears to have fallen off and so I will most likely kill their character off or have them fade into part of the caravan that doesn't effect your retinue.
That said we could stay at 4 or pick up one or two more players. I was thinking to reach out to those we didn't bring in but had applied. I want to know what the group thinks before I do any thing though.
I am not biased as to keeping 4 or 5 or 6. All can be worked with,
I'll post in game a little later as I am waiting for kronin to get his post up as well before I make mine.
Sorogar Twintusk
@Krokkin Nice aim! And yes, Bull's Strength grants an enchancement bonus to strength and rage grants a morale bonus. Since it's not the same type, the two effects stack.
On the potential recruitment: I'm fine with a fifth or sixth. Livens things up :)
As far as party roles are concerned, we're missing a full arcane caster. Perhaps a specialized ranged damage dealer if we get a sixth? Would combine nicely with Warren's buffs.

I agree with this assessment of extra party member(s).
I was excited at the number and then bummed that I missed the crit on the strike. Looks like it was better that I didn't crit anyway.
Warren Motter
I'm fine with four, but yeah we could do with more arcane power; Warren's not totally useless with that crossbow, and Mosely's a switch-hitter, so I'm not sure how much we need a ranged attacker.
Also guys, don't forget, Warren's singing a song for Inspire Courage. (see the spoiler on my last post)
Gonna wait for Sorogar to post her turn before I decide what Warren's going to do.

Hey all.
Just threw up a recruitment thread to see about another player.
recruitment thread
keep an eye there and look at any likely candidates. GIve me a heads up on which and whom you think will blend well.

Will do! Just a note, my wife and i are about to head out to the hospital, expecting the kid to be born somewhere in the next day. While I'm there, I only have a phone and a book and probably won't be able to post for the next 24 hours or so. See you all later!

Just reading this on my phone real quick, but regarding Krokkin's crit, is there any reason he wouldn't hold the scimitar with two hands? That would grant him 1.5 x his strength modifyer on damage rather than once. With 24 str, it would boost the melee damage bonus from +7 to +10 and adds 3 damage before the x2 crit modifyer for a total of 6 extra damage.

I think it is just cause he didn't say it.

Sorry I missed my cue. Had some quizzes due for my doctorate program, had to get them finished.
I appreciate the effort, Herk, but you don't have to write out the lyrics if you don't want to...

Right! Baby born healthy, moving on to important stuff!
If I might make a suggestion, maybe it would help slightly if the campaign description was edited for combats to include the initiative tracker? Something like in this campaign:
https://paizo.com/campaigns/ToFaceAGodOfIron/gameplay&page=83#4126
It makes it easy to see for everyone whose turn it is at the top of the page. It would help me keep track a bit of when I'm supposed to act, or at the very least make it easier to remember the combat order instead of having to keep scrolling back to the first post in a combat. The rather, um, 'chaotic' nature of this fight and scene is adding to the trouble keeping track :')
I think it's Mosely's turn now but i'm not sure if he's aware of the fight going on with the ogre/rakshasha(?). Also, I technically had three turns now (bull's strength, attempt to grab, casting divine favor) while the rest had two, so I think I already took my action this third round? Or was the combat paused when I grabbed the ferret and the trolls ran, temporarily leaving us with no enemies? Alternatively, I could take back my action of casting divine favor and take my third turn after Mosely, or before him and call to Mosely to help us.

congrats on the kiddo that was the important stuff for sure.
As for turns I didn't catch you had 3 turns. my bad. go ahead and take back divine favor and then do your turn.
I'll check out the initiative tracker here shortly and decide if it is good for us.
I reinvited zennith and kinghottrash to reapply. I sent zennith a pm stating that part of why we didn't consider him was the dragon aspect of his toon. I suggested he may want to revise the toon or change all together.

Good job focusing on the degree. THats cool that you're in a phd program.
as for lyrics, I enjoy the challenge. My undergrad is in english with a focus in literary criticism so it is fun to get to adlib sometimes.I try not to take away your opportunity to post yourself though. SOmetimes I just get super excited as to how things are going and lose my patience. So sorry for boting you instead of allowing more time.
Sorogar Twintusk
@Harkemyr, thanks :)
I think he manually edits the text the same as normal text on the site. You got the initiative order in the right field, so a slight rework with just bold and some spaing would make it something like:
Encounter = Ogre taskmaster
Turn Order:
Mosely, Sorogar <========= You may act
Ogre(?) Taskmaster
Warren, Krokken
*This is an example, of course. I don't know when the Ogre will jump into order.
After you post in a combat as the GM, you could simply copy paste the 'you may act' part of the text and place it next to whoever's turn it is. Maybe to move things along faster we could play it that whoever posts first among the initiative group you're in simply takes his turn first before the other party member. I remember that advice being in a PBP sticky, somewhere.
Krokkin
for what it is worth I like the init tracker at the top of the page. It is pretty cool.
BTW I solemnly swear that I am up to no good, hehe.

It's actually a Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP), but thanks!
No worries, as an experienced GM, I'm well aware of the pressure to keep it moving (especially during combat). I just wanted to take the poetry off your plate.
I also like the "initiative group" idea, given our busy lives and all, it would allow us to go when we're on and keep waiting/spoilers to a minimum.
Krokkin
they both look like they could add some spice to our menagerie in my opinion. The biggest part to me would be that in battle we can continue to keep things moving and out of battle we have good consistent character and story building going on. I do feel that 6 is the max to be able to sustain the comments above.
