Pity he didn't pledge Dark Archive; the Season 6 1st-Tier Faction Reward would've been perfect for a Scrollmaster.

I wouldn't call it "level-dipping" (normally a filthy habit, says I) when the levels are on par with your other class, and you need it for your prestige class. :)

Oh, hey - and he's an Aeromancer, too! First time I've seen one of those, as well! I notice you focused on Necromancy; a fine choice, but did you know that you CAN take Spell Focus in Elemental as well as 'conventional' Schools of Wizardry?

DO specialist Wizards get to apply their bonus-school-spell-per-level to Cantrips? I thought not, but if so, my Illusionist (and first Wayang character, from back when they needed a Boon!) has been shortchanging himself a bit all this time.

The unexpected downtime yesterday certain proved a nuisance... In case anyone is checking this thread but unable to sign in to post, here's a guide I stole from GM TOP.

Work is a bit busy at the moment, but should be able to post this afternoon/evening.

Getting Started Back Up:

You're gonna need to clear your cache and cookies.
If you're not sure how: with the browser open, type Ctrl+Shift+Delete.

With the dialog box open, make sure "cache," "cached images and files," "temp images and files," or something along those lines is selected-- it's different for each browser-- as well as "cookies".

If there's a time range dropdown, make sure to include everything/all.

For best results, close your browser first, open a fresh page, clear the cache/cookies, then close and reopen again.

I can't speak for my fellow players' intent for sure, but I believe some of them may be waiting to see if 'suppress charms and compulsions' has had an effect on the angry treant or not before announcing their next move.

I know it is usually more efficient for the GM to wait until all players have stated their actions before making the next post, but in this case would you be able to simply blurb out an interim message like 'no effect' or 'the treant seems to calm down' i.e. one line only, and no need to write up a full GM post with all the initiative and stuff. That way the players can decide what to do and post their actions. You can even provide that quick feedback here in the Discussion thread so as not to clutter your Gameplay flow.

Sorry, I just can't see Anthys attacking first in this situation.

It's been a little bit hard to stay engaged with this module between the GM and PC changes, and some lulls in the posting, or maybe the module just really isn't clicking yet, but in any event I am still here and I will stick with it.

Anthys is, at the moment, AC 25 (base)
+3 Shield Wall (from Vindlér adjacent)
+1 Heart of the Streets (2 allies adjacent)
+3 sacred vs evil foes (Lastwall Phalanx, 2 allies adjacent plus Ring)
+2 deflection vs evil (Berato's Magic Circle Against Evil)

For AC 34, or 29 vs non-evil foes.

Could be higher if I used Total Defense instead of delaying, but that might be ridiculous.

I'm also having a hard time with this module. If the GM is willing to provide some hints or clarifications as to the direction this module is taking that would be much appreciated.

So far every encounter has been complicated or some kind of moral trap.

Even the solutions brought by an 8th level cleric with the protection domain with multiple ways of removing conditions has not worked on either the previous treant encounter or this one. I don't mind if a module throws a curve ball with some specific cures / rituals required for certain situations, but when those occur, the module should provide ways to gather that information and those resources.

I'm willing to stick around if this is almost over, but if we're not past the 75% completion mark I'm inclined to bow out of this one.

So the treant and the dwarf encounter are a straight railroad. The situation with the dwarf is even a unique variation to a creature to give it a unique variation of a specific spell.

Add to it, without the knowledge the dwarf possesses, there is almost no way of finding out what you need to move forward without stumbling around a bit.

I'm am definitely Not a fan of this part.

--> Thankfully Kimo has done enough damage to end the affect on Devarre (which I'll post momentarily)

In regards to where we are in the module. We are just shy of 3/4 of the way through the story.

Idea of what's to come - Read if you wish:

Devarre is about to direct you to a big waterfall in the northern part of the forest. You will discover the source of the mist there... An army will suddenly appear. No way to avoid it. Your only real option will be to flee.

You will have an option to convince the good fey creatures of the forest to fight back.

Then you get to go to the fellknight realm and fight the queen directly in her fortress.
--> There are multiple fights with Spriggans between you and the fortress when you arrive in the fellknight realm. I plan to skip these as they serve no purpose.

The fortress for the queen is quite large. Personally, I believe this module should grant 3 chronicles - 1 for each part. At the very least, 2 chronicles with the fortress being one on it's own.

A First World adventure can be atmospheric and quirky and confusing - that is all fine with me. I am here for the story, not just a Chronicle sheet. I do not enjoy hand-waving unless the skipped sections are actively bad.

Anthys, if the GM has no desire to run us through dozens of [spoiler] useless encounters I'm more than willing to accommodate him and read the scenario later for story purposes. The GM said that the next part of the story, even if we skip the dozens of [spoilered] useless fights, is a MASSIVE dungeon and my experience in PbP is that those can last up to a year and break a campaign.

I'm willing to work with the GM on this one and trust him that we won't miss any story with any modifications he makes. Anthys, if you want to slug through the entire thing unmodified, then I'd rather drop out of this game now as the months ahead will be quite busy for me...

Let me know what will it be and I will decide accordingly.

Yes, reading that spoiler does put things in a different light. I was instead judging by the non-spoilered "3/4 through" comment. I had thought it was you as a player requesting a fast-forward.

I trust the GM to do what they think best. I think we have shown that fights with Spriggans are not particularly exciting or challenging.

But I do wish to skip only what the GM wishes to skip. Convincing the good creatures of the forest to aid us, for example, seems a good scene to have.

Hey folks. I’m afraid things have come to a point for me where I can’t sustain my desired level of engagement with this campaign. Between work becoming increasingly busy, my increased responsibilities at home as a father, and the general mental wear and tear of the past year, I’m just not keeping up with things as I would like to and as would be fair to my fellow players.

I’m going to withdraw from this campaign effective immediately. GM, please remove me from the campaign (assuming you have access to do so).
