Sorry for dropping off the face of the earth. I do indeed have covid, but am slowly getting back to feeling like a human being again. I'll try and get back up to speed again soon.

Greta Gyllenhår |

I hope you're better soon! Get lots of sleep and we'll be waiting to welcome you back.

![]() |

Oh wow! I'm sorry about that GM. Hope you get well soon. If you need Massielo's services, be sure to call him, and he'll try to dimension hop to cast some Lesser Restorations on you. The party may complain about the use of the spell slots, but it's for the greater good.

Selann Juris |

I doubt anyone in the party would complain. Everything I've read about COVID has been bad!
GM, Take whatever time you need to feel ready to return.

Sorry everybody, turns out I was not quite done! I'm feeling waaaaaaaaay better, but now I have a whole lot of stuff to catch up on.

![]() |

Don't worry. Your health is more important.

Tristan de Lion |

My wife keeps telling me "no" to any inquires pertaining to Xbox, PS, and/or pc games.
She is under the impression that I already spend too much time on these Boards....
Rappan Athuk Miniatures KickStarter
This appeared on my Discord....

Greta Gyllenhår |

Lol, I still have ps3 games that I haven’t had the time to start yet, so no new games for me any time soon.

Selann Juris |

Hmm.... My wife plays Mine Craft, so no arguments on my game time.
Last day to "pre-purchase" the game....

![]() |

I do intend to purchase it, but I probably won't play until we're more advanced in this game.

Selann Juris |

Is it like this version of the WoTR? When I looked at it the description sounded like they were doing something completely different, Playing monster classes and so on. I mean, a Lich as a player? I think you can play a dragon.... ??

Fred Junior |

It's based off of this adventure path like Kingmaker was based off it's AP namesake. The wild stuff is probably their answer to the go nuts attitude of mythic without being a straight translation of the mythic rules. Also kickstarter goals were a thing.
I would not be surprised in the least if Anevia, Aravashnial, or Irabeth were all characters you can recruit to your party.

GM Losonti |

I know for a fact that Wenduag, an enemy y'all trampled over and killed unceremoniously, is not only a recruitable companion, she's even a love interest!

![]() |

Trampling over named NPCs... That's what we (players) do.
The monster thing, I heard is actually end stages of mythic paths.

Selann Juris |

So to play a mythic wizard, do I have to be a lich? How about sorcerer?

GM Losonti |

I haven't gotten a chance to actually sit down and play it yet, but I don't think your character needs to actually be a spellcaster to take the Lich mythic path. You'll probably get less use out of it, though.
And yeah, Junior, she is. She's mutually exclusive with Lann, though, can't have them both in the same party. Lann is also a love interest.

Selann Juris |

Looks like I won't be able to play it until sometime next year when I buy my next computer. This old thing can barely launch the game and it crashed almost immediately after the tedious process of creating a character....
No problem though. Got something to look forward to! The glass is half full!!!

Caliban Tre'Athkar |

See this is why I don't do it often! I thought the check gave you the chance not to get AoO, and that if you failed they got the AoO. Good to know! Magus is harder than I thought to play - lol.

Tristan de Lion |

Funny conversation y'all are having! I just got done doing my Magus' post; and, yes, way too much work!

Fred Junior |

Started playing the crpg too. It's already a lot different from our game and I'm only level 3.
I like it. A lot of the big story beats are the same but the particulars are different. I'm also very hot and cold on Lann. Sometimes he's my best bro and other times I'm like, Bro?! Wtf.

By the way, I am playing Massielo in the game :D
Actually, I dipped 2 levels into Paladin for proficiencies and Divine Grace, but still... They're very similar characters. Going for the Angel transformation.

GM Losonti |

I've been playing a magus, but I think I might hold off on that until mods add Intensified Spell in like they did for Kingmaker. It's such a workhorse feat.
Wait till you get your first mythic ability, Massielo. Oracles get some really good options.

Hey everybody, wound up working most of the weekend at my second job so I was a bit worn out. I'll get a post up later tonight, though.

![]() |

No worries.

Greta Gyllenhår |

Looking forward to it.

GM Losonti |

I'd like just a little bit more consensus before progressing one way or the other. Please sound off with your preference between "cleanse the scrying chamber" and "go up the stairs (or to one of the other rooms on this floor)".

Greta Gyllenhår |

If there’s several people that want to clear the second floor before moving up again (even though we didn’t clear the first) then Greta will join in that (as long as it’s quick), otherwise she’s heading upstairs even if she has to go alone.

Benedic |

You're basically saying that Greta will not help cleanse the pool under any circumstances, GH?

![]() |

I think we should go further down, actually. If no one came looking for us from upstairs, I don't think they will now.

Fred Junior |

Speaking ooc: On the one hand I would be for clearing (and cleaning) the building. Because there's loot in those rooms. On the other APs frequently have filler encounters designed to only give exp, treasure, or drain our resources, but not advance the story or at the least be interesting encounters. This especially hard hitting in PbP where a filler encounter lasts a week or more.
In character: Junior would not choose to waste time when he knows he can be saving people. He can be willfully ignorant if you let him but that's not what's happening here. He will absolutely follow Greta to his death if it means he gets to be a Big Damn Hero. It also helps that he has no special reverence for religious types and generally treats them like any other person.
Ultimately I'm at going up.

Caliban Tre'Athkar |

Caliban's for clearing the lower and second levels since the staircase likely leads to a big-bad, and getting flanked in the final fight of the museum would be problematic, even for a group of big damn heroes.

Greta Gyllenhår |

Greta will gladly help cleanse the room, after they’ve completed their mission. We were told that there are fellow crusaders staging attacks against impossible odds in other parts of the city to make sure that our way was less guarded than it should be. She can’t justify taking time to clean up while others are giving their lives (and is honestly pretty disappointed in many of her companions’ apparent complete lack of concern about all those other people’s lives).
She’s counting on the destruction of the shard having a significant enough effect that their fellow crusaders will either be able to gain the upper hand or know that they’re free to pull back. And once that happens she’ll gladly clear other rooms, do cleansing rituals, or whatever else people feel needs to be done. But until then she’s going to keep moving, even if nobody else goes with her (though, she’s assuming Irabeth, at least, will come with her, and that her example might inspire some of the others to as well). Like I said, if several people feel that it’s necessary to check more rooms on this level before going up she’ll agree to that but (just like when this came up downstairs) she won’t standing around cleaning while others are dying.
Out of character, it occurs to me as I’m typing that maybe this is some kind of magical fountain that you want to use before moving on, and if that’s the case she might be persuaded to fix it before moving on if one of the characters actually knows that and can explain it to her, but if it’s something where we have to do clean up first in order to discover it offers some blessing she’s not going to wait for that.

Selann Juris |

If the fountain is desecrated, and requiring consecration to use (along with cleaning and refilling with clean water) then I'd say we can do that once the Big/Bad is done. I'm all for heading up the stairs.
I was mainly responding (with action) to Irabeth's words.

Selann Juris |

BTW, Who has the Rod? I looked back and didn't see an answer.
I'm going to assume I have it if nobody else took it.

Benedic |

I’m worried the adventure path includes two elements that this room exemplifies: one, an artificial time crunch; and two, a limited opportunity to influence Iomedae. For my character, the latter is very important! :) The former isn’t at all important if its only effect is to make us feel like we don’t have the time to do the latter. I understand the concern that if we delay we could miss out on something else and our spells will run out earlier. But it seemed like a pretty strongly hinted clue from the GM that we should do something about the desecrated pool immediately if we care about things like that. I would be very disappointed if we get “punished” (by our divine reputation suffering or our alignment taking a hit) because we don’t stop.

Fred Junior |

For what its worth. I think there is a time crunch and that we're ahead of schedule. The alignment implications are probably on the chaos vs law axis.
Junior doesn't really care to impess Iomedae, or Sarenrae, or Asmodeus. Maybe Cayden would be a good drinking buddy. I know it's important to your character however. I'd hate to have two opposite uncompromising stances here.

Selann Juris |

As a NG worshiper of Nethys I'm fine with accepting Greta's criticism and rushing up the stairs. Save the people and clean the building later, unless Irabeth objects. Isn't she the one that directed us here?

Greta Gyllenhår |

Out of character- I have a hard time imagining any good god (except maybe one specifically responsible for cleanliness and/or fountains) would punish anyone for wanting to save the lives of countless crusaders first and then clean something. I understand this seems important to Benedic but I’m struggling to find a way to justify in Greta’s mind just letting people die so we can clean now instead of in a few minutes (although, I did think of one thing… see below).
In character- Any god who would punish people for prioritizing saving lives over some clean up is not a god Greta has any interest in assisting. However, she did take an oath to serve the Eagle Watch as a knight and if Irabeth, her superior, ordered her to wait she would wait (and consider Iomedae a trash god ever after).
Option C- there’s an easy solution… Caliban casts invisibility on Selann who has the rod. The two of us go up there and I fight whatever we find long enough for Selann to sneak around behind them and destroy the shard. The clean up crew can mop downstairs while we take care of it.

Tristan de Lion |

Tristan has been of the exact same mind as Greta from the moment we offered up those other crusaders for the allowance of our Team to finish a job.
The rest can wait.
