I believe that I cannot charge through allies. So, I will make a standard move and be ready if anything comes within reach.
Butchering Ax {PA/EP/Bless/Haste}: 1d20 + 13 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 13 + 1 + 1 = 20
Damage {EP/Bane}: 3d6 + 1d6 + 2d6 + 19 ⇒ (2, 6, 2) + (3) + (6, 3) + 19 = 41

I think we are back at the top of the round. First non-surprise round.
"I do not have much I can use against zees metal man." Zranashta steps forward and casts magic missile from her wand.
Magic Missile: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4 damage vs Black clockwork soldier.
4 rounds of haste remain.

![]() |

Spot scurries forward keeping pace with Zranashta. When he sees the clockwork soldiers he lets out a small growl-hiss-roar.
Spot delayed during the surprise round, so now he and Zranashta are both acting at the top of the round.

Remmy upends his backpack as a pile of bones of all shapes and sizes come tumbling out.
Come on my little friends! Time to do your job!
Suddenly, the bones rattle together, taking the form of... a chicken?
Okay Pot Pie, you up first!
Another bunch of bones begin to rattle together, rolling across the floor past the clockwork enemies before forming up into a vaguely human shape, but made out of bones that are, as far as you can tell, not human, with chicken wing bones and other holding together to make the being.
Okay, Dinner, you back up Pot Pie!
The humanoid skeleton swings at black...
Claw: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18
Damage: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Claw: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21
Damage: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
And the little chicken skeleton pecks at it's heels, fairly ineffectively.
Peck: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21
Damage: 1d4 - 2 ⇒ (2) - 2 = 0

![]() |

"Zat is deeply disturbing."

![]() |

Malaz thinks back to their meeting a few hours ago. "Wait a tick. Was that dinner?" His stomach lurches slightly at the notion.

![]() |

lol. Well played, Remmy. Well played indeed.
"I think I might become vegetarian," Zranashta vows.

![]() |

Spot sniffs the air at the arrival of the newcomers, then begins running in excited circles around Zranashta's legs.

GM Zephyre |

Yes, you all got a surprise round.
Cuethric moved and attacked in his, since he was previously around the corner I am going to just take the move.
Ijo, your bless actually does not stack at all with Cuethric's bonuses from flagbearer, if you want to just move into the room with the others for your surprise round action instead that is fine with me.
Zranashta's small missile flies forward and pings the metal man for some minor damage, but leaves little more than a dent on his armor.
Remmy's unique display of attacks is frightful, but only one of the two claws manages to land, but does not seem to have affected the machine. The beak also hits, but might as well not have...

Ah, thanks. Ijo will take that move, then.
Ijo raises his heavy flail staring at the lead automaton. The flail inexplicably flies from his hands and strikes, only to return and rest in his palms.
Mind Arsenal, ranged heavy flail, into melee: 1d20 + 15 - 4 ⇒ (1) + 15 - 4 = 12
damage: 1d10 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9
COOL. Haven't had a double 1 in some time.

Remmy blinks at Malaz as if his confusion.
Of c-c-course. You don't think I w-w-would be so d-d-disrespectful to the life that d-d-died for it as to w-w-waste anything do you?
He looks at the little chicken skeleton's pecking at the clockwork with little success and shakes his head.
P-p-perhaps P-pork for dinner tonight. Or m-m-maybe Goat. Chicken has a good flavor, but so little b-b-bones to work with...

Cuethric will fire 2 rapid shots and one with haste using Admanantine blanched arrows.
shot with rapid and PB and haste: 1d20 + 12 - 2 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 12 - 2 + 1 = 12
dmg P adamantine: 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (1, 5) + 4 = 10

hasted extra attack shot: 1d20 + 12 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 12 + 1 = 16
dmg P adamantine: 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (3, 3) + 4 = 10
Malaz provides cuethric cover but not the soldiers, Cuethric has precise shot.
"Where in the heck are they going? We are over here."

GM Zephyre |

As Ijo steps up to make an attempt at the metal men his flail...flails... wildly out of control before returning to his hands.
Cuethric stands his ground and uses the speed gifted him by Zranashta to unleash three arrows, but only one of them finds any purchase in the soldier standing in the distance.
As constructs with no intelligence and a creature clawing at it's legs the visible metal man attempts to pound into the humanoid pile of bones.
Remmy in the future can you please include stat blocks for the creatures you "summon" so I can adjudicate things properly quicker.
Black Clockwork Soldier Attack: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (15) + 18 = 33
Black Clockwork Soldier Damage: 1d10 + 13 ⇒ (4) + 13 = 17
If that finishes the humanoid skeleton then the next attack will be on the chicken skeleton, if not it will hit the humanoid again.
Black Clockwork Soldier Attack: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (1) + 13 = 14
Black Clockwork Soldier Damage: 1d10 + 13 ⇒ (8) + 13 = 21

Malaz looks at the bones with a sigh. "Uh, Necromancer, could you bring your dinner closer? If I move up, I will just be a very large wall." The aphorite takes a step forward, enhances his blade with arcane density, and waits for the guardians.

Though the little skeleton doesn't even manage to land the blow, Malaz was prepared and lands a crushing blow on the soldier.

With a flourish of his ax and a wink, "Always nice to be appreciated."
So, this is the first time the build has come together with all the buffs running. I guess I can say it works.
He nods to the arcanist, "Thank you for attending my wounds. Not enough room to dodge away, not that I am exactly nimble." If he feels any consternation or discomfort at the magics used to seal his cuts, he does not show it.
He holds a hand up to wave off Ijo. "Now that we are unencumbered by the constructs, I can tend to my wounds. I am humbled by your offer." Hmm...I've have yet to have the opportunity to mix the two arts of healing. He snaps his wrist, allowing a wand to slide into his hand. He taps the device to his chest once, then a second time. An eerie yet serene smile comse to his lips. Oh ho! By the Pallid Princess this is a decadent experience.

"Well that was interesting. These metal men are hard at steel. I wonder if we can salvage the sky mwtal from them?" "But let's find 'what's her name' first, With magic she could be 3 planes from Sunday. The metal men were heading for the side door to the North, do we hope the were reporting to there boss?"
Cuethric gathers his things and prepares to head North and back to the side door.

GM Zephyre |

With a savage blow Malaz crushes the last of the metal men leaving a heap of rubble in it's wake.
It was fine to skip to Malaz, just wrote it as I did to give others a chance to do something if they wanted before he cremated the last one.
With that the team feels the imminent threat has been dealt with. What will they do next?

![]() |

Draklor steps over and around the remains of shattered constructs. He tries to push them to the sides of the corridor as best he is able. "That went quite well! I don't know if this would work for these things, but imagine if our foes couldn't even see Malaz bearing down on them."
The kitsune then follows Cuethric north, waiting for others to go ahead.
Anyone have the means to use obscuring mist or something similar? I forgot to give that to Draklor once again, but he can make us see through it as a performance.

![]() |

Spot rushes out from under the table and growls at the clockwork soldiers. He then grabs one of the chicken bones and begins gnawing on it.
I don't mind darkness. I can cast obscuring mist if you want me to, Draklor. It is good to know that you can let us see through it.

Zranashta wags a finger at her dinosaur familiar, "SPOT! Put that down! Disgusting."
Just checking in. Spot and Zranashta are ready to go. The door that Cuethric chose is good for me.

Cuethric glides back down the hall nimbly stepping past the scrap metal heaps. He pauses to cautiously examine the door and area around it.
perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (14) + 11 = 25
He then tries to determine if the door is locked or braced.
He waits patiently as the others catch up.

Remmy shakes his head at the little dinosaur.
S-s-spot, you don't want that! He reaches into his pack as he walks over, pulling out a nice thick bone from some other animal... possibly a hog?
C-c-chicken bones are fragile, they'll shatter and hurt your gums. Chew on this, it's better for your teeth.
He passes the bone and looks around at the shattered and crushed bones.
D-d-definitly goat tonight I think.

GM Zephyre |

As Draklor pushes the metal men out of the way he notices they have minimal useful items on them, the halberds they carry being the obvious piece, but among the rubble he does also find a key.
Cuethric examines the door and the area around it carefully. He is confident there are not traps, but the door is most assuredly locked.

![]() |

"Remmy, are you any good with locks? We need to hurry. The longer we take the harder it will be to get out."
Cuethric will step back and allow anyone to try the lock. "Malaz, are you still beefed up? Could you smash this door?" Else we probably should head out one of the doors in the metal man room."

![]() |

Ijo stands toward the back of the group using his abilities to feel around the space. I'll keep an eye out, so to speak. Let's get through that door. Ijo blinks hard as he casts a basic spell.
Cast Detect Magic

![]() |

"Draklor, bring key to Cuethric. Let's see if it opens door." Zranashta says in her dusty accent.

"I an certain the door can be sundered. Whether or not that can be done quietly is truly doubtful."

![]() |

"Let's hold off on that for now," Draklor says hastily, stepping over with the key. "Maybe this will do the trick?"
Before handing it over, he mirrors Ijo in looking around for magic, but is mostly focused on the key and door.
