Have you played Skyrim? Those corridors that go off from the main ones, are like where the Draugr lie. So you can't just look into the corridor and check everthing.

I have not played it. But Ohrmizd goes inside the side corridors if needed. He really makes a thorough check, like take 20. Go corridor by corridor checking for evil creatures.
Whatever is needed to find the pugwampi. We know it is there, Ohrmizd would sink as much time as it is needed to find it.
Garavel will not let him go to sleep otherwise anyway.
@Manuun
You've seen that I put the pugwampi on the map? Because you're running away from it. And you're the only one who could have actually stayed on it's heels.
Yes I have seen it. But that door is tightly closed so Manuun believes the pugwampi cant get out there. But he also also remembers the others just rushing down to the cellar, so the other door might still be open.
And I definitely dont want to hunt it in the church rafters anymore.
Wow another save thats the sixth or so already. There will be legends about the unshatterable Inquisitor in the Pugwampis dens when you finally leave this land.

This is one of those scenes from old adventures that if written nowadays, better rules could make them more enjoyable.
Following enemies with the core rules is particularly unpleasant for an array of reasons that go down to that they are not thought to follow anyone (they pose too much constraints specially on the GM to made what is a nowadays movie chase scene). I am pretty sure nowadays they would have written the event using the chase rules from Game Mastery Guide instead.
I have played a couple of those and run one, and the GMs made it very cinematic, like a cinema scene, which turned up very exciting. I guess they can become old and boring very fast, but on the couple of times I have seen them used, they stood out and became memorable scenes.
I think the Rise of the Goblin Guild scenario features one that can serve as an example of what I mean, but I have only heard rumors about it.
I am also fine with checking out the river, but Manuun is not going to attempt an even remotely difficult swim check. He can't even take 10 on a DC10 so I think that is not ging a route we can take unless there really is another way to cross.
From the CRB:
Water Swim DC
Calm water 10
Rough water 15
Stormy water 20*
I don't see where a DC20 swim check could come from in this desert.
And you're right: You should be cautious about those insidious PINATAS. They sneak up to you in the water, you can't resist and then you die from swimming with a full stomach!
I'm sorry, but I don't think this is gonna work out.
Most of the posts have been when I'm working or asleep, and when I do get a free chance the scene's already been skipped or I've been botted, so in all honesty I don't think I can reliably contribute to this game.

That's sad to hear, but I wish you the best of luck.

Ei Rahav! Just post when you are able to. If the scene has been already resolved feel free to push us forward, with a go to sleep, or walk in that direction post, or whatever makes sense to you next, we will surf the wave with you :)
Even if we had a considerable amount of posts we have done little in the last short of a month. Just brought you to the monastery, chased a pugwampi and planned how to explore next. It is PbP, it is not like if you are expected to engage in a real life conversation scene, we sometimes somehow do because we are in the same time, but the game does not really need it and most of the time we are just spicing up the wait time for the others who are busy or in a different time to post. Most posts were just puns and chances, so just feel free to skip that and go to the main plot with your posts!

It's a pity that you want to leave. As Ohrmizd said, fo rus it's ok if you only manage to post off cycle with the rest of the group. I know it is not really helpful to get the roleplaying poart going.
So if you don't have fun with the game, that's a pity and a with you the best of luck fo ryour next try. But if you have fun and just think you would not meet our expectations, then please stay. Because that assumption is wrong.
Foxy, since we probably get to wait until the evening for the reply, can you answer me some questions in the meantime.
The monster is still hovering 10 ft above Manuun I assume. Does that mean unless it has reach it won't get an attack of opportunity if I run or shoot at him?
Also it does not look likely that Rahav is going to be persuaded by Our arguments (20 other posts since Staurday but none here). Will you bot him for this fight or rule that he is not here?

If it is on the ground and Heshan is right and only magical weapons can damage it, then Ohrmizd can maybe charge on the beast while drawing the magical mace we found in the crypt.
We also got a +1 dagger, Manuun got it, isn't it? You will get a better result with that than the crossbow I think.
@Heshan I think you missed it is your turn. If you do not have better magic, the electricity ray must be able to cause as much damage as any of our magical weapons.

I wasn't sure if I could get a shot in at the creature from whether the crossbow could be loaded and shot. And even then, the most I could do with it is 3 damage. I will be close enough to do the ray in the next round since that has a 30 foot range.
One more question in order to describe my reaction correctly. Once the inevitable hit happens, I will find out that windy escape is not working, correct?

Before I write the wrong reaction, Ohrmizd yesterday remarked in chat to me that the Peryton would still be shaken (-2 to ATT) from Ohrmizd earlier Intimitation attempt.
Since I have an AC of 16 that would be the crucial difference between a hit and a miss, I would like to hear your opinion on this before I post y turn.
@ Heshan: Why are you not using Colour Spray? Even if the Peryton has 5HD 1 round where Ohrmizd could hack at it with a melle weapon would be very helpful. And you should actually be able to keep it down with multiple uses of the spell.
Its currently farther away than 15 ft, but with a readied action you should be able to cast the spell while it is approaching us, if you place yourself correctly, like next to Manuun.
@ Foxy Sorry for breaking Char, but I have the feeling we are fighting with a hand tied behind our back here, and Hesahn might not be aware of this possibility.
Also please tell me if my assumptions about our possibilities are wrong.

Besides, good trick adding a mirrored copy of the map to extend its frame, I never thought of it and it makes a great way to extend the map and keep all the squares matching!
Male Human Keleshite Inquisitor of Sarenrae 14 | GMW 12h, MV 12h
Are we still in combat rounds?
Did Manuun hit? I guess Heshan action never took effect because it was always to far away.
From last post, my best guess is we saw the peryton informing the gnolls at the observation tower, then it flied to the mountain directly without coming to us, negating further attacks from us.
Depending on how he flied away, if it seems it just retreated temporarily to heal up or wait we are gone, I think we shall hunt him down in the mountains.
If it seems it retreated in panic to never come again, I think we shall try to assault the tower before they can inform the rest of the town.
It is hard to tell from like 200 feet below what the mental state of a monster is. But the creature is flying at double the speed you can walk, so following it is out of the window.
The city map does not show terrainin the north of Kelmarane, because nobody thought we would approach from there.
Assumption is that there are also ridges in that direction which we can use for concealment. otherwise we will stay much further out and discuss new approach.
