lol at that natural 1.

Malgrim Gryh |

Our love is destiny. Do not mock it lest I blast your face off. :P I am betting her Charisma is a tad higher then mine in case she asks me to murder you all so nicely. :/

'Gnasher' Red Claw |

Realizing the div was beginning to change directions, Gnasher swings his bardiche again.

The div beats a retreat, knowing she can weather one attack from Gnasher, and she does, but not without taking a pretty significant blow. She flies up and out of the room into the room above where there is room to maneuver. You do not know how far she went, but she is definitely out of eyesight.

'Gnasher' Red Claw |

Curious, going to stay in rounds for at least one or two more, want to see if she comes back or if we need to start fighting Zayifid
Still raging, Gnasher, frothing at the mouth, points his bardiche at Zayifid. "Tribe did it's part, Zayifid do Zayifid's part. Go kill mute girl, bring tribe head."

Urah Pyr |

Urah turns instead to Zayifid.
"Get us out of here and the scroll is yours else if she gets her backup the scroll is likely to fall into her hands."

Malgrim Gryh |

"But...we need to find her. She might get hurt here all alone." Malgrim says.

Tarak Tiger |

Tarak remains slightly crouched, tail swishing, barely restraining his new instincts to chase the flying target.

'Gnasher' Red Claw |

Unable or unwilling to wait for his more charismatics tribe members to sort out an agreement, Gnasher's rage boils over, "Aaarrrrrggghhhhh" and with a loud scream he charges Zayifid, chopping at the Jinn with his bardiche
enlarged rage 2/18, charge (looks like around 45 ft,) Attack: + 1 Bardiche, Power attack

Well that's just an awful roll, any chance he's flatfooted?
edit: if the Jinn moves in closer will Gnasher get an aoo?

Urah Pyr |

Bluff lol.
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17
"Did she get Gnasher with her spell as well? Her ability for mind control is fearsome." he exclaims in blind reaction to Gnasher going Rargghhh.

"You were mean to her!" Malgrim says as he blasts away at Zayifid.

Zayifid is ready for the assault and vanishes right before the attacks can land and, to everyone's chagrin, the air is churning but Zayifid is untouched. Then he pops up again in Gnasher's face and lands a doozy on him, though the follow up swing clangs off of his armor. The weapon is sharp and the cut is deep and Gnasher starts bleeding, only to stop as his fast healing kicks in.

"I always knew it would end up like this, though I wish you would have killed that monstrosity first."

Malgrim Gryh |

Malgrim growls something in goblin that is quite uncouth and then gathers the elemental powers of water to himself once more to launch at the foul being.
Try this again. Gather Power, Empower, Blast within Point Blank Range.

Wow... so 32 probably confirms. Which means he takes 72 Bludgeoning Damage as I go for the Eye!

Tarak Tiger |

Tarak stalks forward and snaps out with his jaws, his neck and teeth elongating in an unnatural and disturbing fashion.

"For what's it's worth. I'm sorry it has to come to this." Urah says with some regret as he peppers Zayifid with his own spell.
Glitterdust Will save DC 16
Will move up to hit Zay man without hitting my allies though looks difficult to angle the shot via phone.

'Gnasher' Red Claw |

As Zayifid moves closer Gnasher attempts to block the scimitar with his bardiche. Failing miserably, his eyes widen as the Jinn slashes him from shoulder to hip. Growling, Gnasher attemts to sound confident "Closer is better!" As he drops the bardiche he watches Malgrim strike the Jinn with a water blast and Tarak tiger attack. Smiling a toothy smile Gnasher attacks Zayifid with tooth and claw.

Poor Zayifid. A rather anticlimactic end as you all completely devastate him hitting with every last shred of an attack launched at him. There is a lingering look of surprise on his face as he gets plastered up against the pillar behind him.
Stay in rounds in case the Div reappears.

'Gnasher' Red Claw |

Smiling a grizzly smile Gnasher retrieves his bardiche with his left hand and picks up Zayifid's corpse in his right. "Jinn dead, but Div is still about, Tribe retreat to basement, recuperate. Gnasher bring Zayifid, see what Jinn have." As he speaks he gestures into the other room where the stairs to the lower level is.
Enlarged Rage 4/18 Thinking we retreat to the basement, see if it draws out the Div before we get there. It looks like it's three rounds to get there. This round: Two move actions, picking up stuff.

Malgrim will walk back towards the basement but keeps looking behind him and says, "I really think we just started off on the wrong foot with her. I am pretty sure the whole eating your souls thing was just an exaggeration."

Tarak Stromblessed |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

Tarak looks at Malgrim with some incredulity and swishes his tail in a derisive manner.
Its hard to describe the look and tail swish that cats do, but if you all own one you’d know

Malgrim Gryh |

Malgrim doesn't see any tail swishing as he is to busy looking backwards for his bestest friend.

Urah Pyr |

"No it's not. She does love to invade dreams and do lewd things to her victims. Let us return to the groove first. I can see to your wounds there better."

miteke |

You pause long enough to loot and Synthia returns, a floating head in front of her at the top of the steps. She sees the fallen Zayifid, scowls, and quickly disappears, leaving the floating head on it's own. It quickly flies down to attack and is just as quickly dispatched.
Zayifid has a +1 outsider(fire) bane frost scimitar, a +1 chain shirt, a hat of disguise, and a ring of protection +1. You will have enough time to identify all the items eventually.

Malgrim Gryh |

"That's just your fear talking. When did she actually try to rip your head off?" Malgrim asks trying to be super reasonable.

'Gnasher' Red Claw |

Blinking, Gnasher looked from Malgrim to the dead head on the floor. Shrugging he released his rage. "Dead head come from somewhere." Not immediately concerned about Synthia coming back, he begins to strip Zayifid's body of anything of value.
Tossing the near naked body in the pit, he turns to the others. "Tribe go tell former slaves tribe leaving. Tell Former slaves who want to follow to come."
Heading up the stairs, intent on going back to the portion of the temple where the slaves were hiding.

Tarak Stromblessed |

Tarak shifts back to his human form as the group returns to the slave area, lamenting ”I should have chased her the first time and finished her off. I mislike leaving enemies alive. Twice as such for magic whatever she wases.”
Even so he walks with a spring in his step, looking forward to leaving this place and some time in the wilderness under an open sky.

Malgrim Gryh |

"She doesn't have to be an enemy. Maybe the dead head came because we almost cut her in half. Self defense is a thing." Malgrim says as he follows along to get the other slaves since leaving soon would probably keep all his friends from mauling each other.

'Gnasher' Red Claw |

Turning and looking at Malgrim, Gnasher shrugs, "Gnasher liked mute girl when mute girl was mute girl."

Urah Pyr |

Helping Gnasher pick out the magical items, Urah will spend time identifying them.
"Look at it this way, she thought ahead, got ahead and lost a head." in a really poor attempt at humor.
"But yes, we should expect more of her then."
as he leaves with his powerful and brave companions.

'Gnasher' Red Claw |

Chuckling at Urah's pun, Gnasher approaches the stairway to where the slaves had hidden. Entering he calls down. "Tribe leaving! Gather Gear if want to travel with tribe to Kelmarane."
As the humans scurry about to get ready to leave, Gnasher realizes he's still wounded. Taking out the last of his potions he drinks it down. Then drawing out his wand, he casts infernal healing on himself. which he'll do a second time later
As the freed slaves get ready to leave, Gnasher takes out the dead Jinn's hat, placing it on his head, taking the form of a human, that looked suspiciously like Urah. Spinning about he asks, "What tribe think? Gnasher look like gnome?"
cmw: 2d8 + 2 ⇒ (4, 2) + 2 = 8

miteke |

Actually, in the time it took you all to strip the body and evaluate the loot, Synthia had already paid the slaves a little visit. It is a bloody, disturbing mess with one survivor, a poor gal all wide eyed and gushing.
"The Lady Synthia punished the others. Said they were to be made an example. Said to tell you just that. They were made an example just for you. Isn't she wonderful? So thoughtful! I think, though it is a bit confusing. Anyway, isn't she just the BEST!"
She looks like she is somewhere between shock and awe.
Bet at least one of could see this coming.

'Gnasher' Red Claw |

Does Gnasher recognize the slave girl that speaking?
perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (11) + 10 = 21
Hearing no answers to call from the top of the stairs, Gansher stops playing with the hat and heads to where the ex-slaves were supposed to be at. Curling his nose at the stench of the dead bodies, he see's the girl and listens to her story. Remembering the 'mute' slave girl, Ghasher glares at this 'lone survivor' trying to figure out if it was another trap or if the girl was just crazy.
sense motive: 1d20 ⇒ 7

Tarak Stromblessed |

Tarak goes into a small fury at seeing the devastation, cursing in half a dozen languages with such furor that it culminates in an arc of electricity lashing out and scorching a rock.
Tantrum resolved he growls promises of bloody vengeance to himself in Druidic before looking over the survivor with a medical eye, ”Hold still lass, let me make sure ye be ok.”
Heal: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14

Malgrim Gryh |

"She is the best.." Malgrim agrees but finds himself strangely torn by the bloody sight in front of him.

'Gnasher' Red Claw |

Resisting the urge to tell Malgrim and the ex-slave to 'get a room' Gnasher shrugged, "Tribe leaving, girl have name? Girl coming with tribe?"
As Gnasher looks towards the eastern gate, he turns towards the south west wondering if they should take some of the snake with them. Then looked towards the west, Considering taking whatever the lizards have of value. Shaking his head, he asks, "Tribe have enough food? Or Take more snake?"

Urah Pyr |

Urah had looted the Jann's body along with the rest and had kept a piece of Purple cloth he knew the Zayfid had.
Showing it to her,
"How about this?" he asks.

'Gnasher' Red Claw |

(being malnourished and all)
Hey, we'd been feeding them.
Chuckling at Betty's response to Urah, Gnasher, assuming the girl probably doesn't have much, gestures towards the hiding area. "Betty worry about carrying Betty's gear."
Moving across the compound towards where they killed the giant snake, Gnasher inspects the body to see if it's rotted to much to eat. Afterwards he checks the eggs, cracking one open, to see if they could be used for food as well.
He'll take 10(20) on survival to see if the snake meat is still good and to see if the eggs are edible.

miteke wrote:(being malnourished and all)Hey, we'd been feeding them.
Yea, but time is moving a lot more swiftly in game that real time. I think they nave been freed one or two days. Though a couple of big meals has put a dent in their lack of health, these things take some time and the memories and habits of being a half-starved slave last a life time.

Betty is more confused, not less, and a little worried. They seem like contradictory orders to her and that never goes well.

The eggs are in extremely good condition. The meat islooking a little grey in places, but still editable, and you can cut off any grey parts. It is still spring in the mountains and, as such, pretty chilly so the meat will last for a while.

'Gnasher' Red Claw |

Yea, but time is moving a lot more swiftly in game that real time. I think they nave been freed one or two days. Though a couple of big meals has put a dent in their lack of health, these things take some time and the memories and habits of being a half-starved slave last a life time.[/ooc]
True!
Realizing he'd confused Betty he gestures towards the snake. "Come Betty cut meat to eat later." Pulling out his smaller dagger he hands it to the girl, pointing towards the pinker part of the snake meat. "Cut pink meat."
Drawing out his larger knife, Gnasher begins to cut off sections of the pink snake meat as well, "Tribe eat snake tonight, maybe tomorrow, then eat eggs."
After cutting a fair amount of snake meat, he cuts off some of the snake skin and wraps the meat in it. Holding up the wrapped meat, he makes sure the girl see's how he did it. Taking off his pack he tucks the wrapped meat in the pack, then collects as many eggs as will fit and places them in the pack as well.
Once it seemed like they'd gotten as much food as they could carry, he gestures towards the entrance on the east, "Tribe ready to leave now?"

Malgrim Gryh |

Malgrim gathers his stuff and nods to Gnasher before following him out.

miteke |

Betty seems competent enough and soon has all the snake she cares to carry. The packaging is not perfect, and it does leak snake blood, but it serves its purpose and nobody seems to mind. Or if they do they keep their mouths shut about it. You begin your trip back, which will take a week or more, well, more, as the gaggle of ill equipped ex-slaves does tend to slow things down. Worse, some of them wake up complaining about having lurid, embarrassing, and nasty dreams which leave them exhausted (fatigued in game terms).
