"I am not weak-willed. That is why I, Haanar, made the effort I did: hired that ogre to procure this old man to answer my questions. You came here to rescue him, I am sure. But you see now how I have been deceived for most of my life and sent away from my childhood home."

So, assuming Fumbus and Kyra were aiding Seelah. Both were critical failures, reducing Seelah's attempt, but not enough to make her attempt a failure itself. His attitude has improved, but not so much that he's friendly... yet. You can made additional Diplomacy attempts if you like.

Male Goblin (Fire-Eater clan) Alchemist/1 (HP 15/15 Fire Resist 1| AC:17 | F:+6 R:+8 W:+3 | Perc:+3 Darkvision | Stride:25) | Dogslicer +6 1d6S (A/BS), Flask +6 20ft Arcana +5 Crafting +5 Deception +2 Lore (underworld) +5 Society +5 Stealth +4 Thievery +4

It worked so well for Fumbus the last time!

Fumbus busies himself attending to checking the seals on his infusions, vials, carafes, jars, pouches, packets, flasks, and potions, unaware of how his comments were received.

Female Human Cleric 1 | HP 17/17 | AC 18 | F +5 R +4 W +9 | P +7 | Speed 25ft | Active Conditions: None

Sorry guys, I just can't see Kyra just standing here listening to this boy admit to crimes and trying to act kind to him.

At this, Kyra stands, draws forth her scimitar, and gives her fiercest scowl. "Well then, Haanar, you have engaged in criminal activities, inciting the use of an evil ogre in the assault and kidnapping of a member of this community. We have put down your pet ogre, and I expect you to lay down any weapons you may have and surrender yourself to our care to be returned to the village. If it were up to me, I would put you down myself here and now, but the grandfather here seems to have a soft spot for you despite your petty cruelty. Perhaps he may yet show you mercy and allow you to try to earn your way back into proper society. Should you refuse, we will meet out justice here and now. The choice is yours.

Intimidate to coerce him to surrender, untrained: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22

Male Human Fighter / 1 [ HP: 20 / 20 I AC: 18 / 20 w/shield I F: +7 R: +7 W: +3 I P: +5 I Speed: 20 ]

Valeros glances at Kyra and cannot help but nod in agreement. 'Well this just got a whole bit more interesting,' he thinks to himself.

"Can't say I disagree," Valeros bellows as he attempts to stare down Haanar. He draws his sword and shield and they clang together accidently. He attempts to recover and says, "You really did some uncommunity like stuff. Please surrender!"

Intimidate: 2 + 3 = 5

his first time; what a noob

Seelah HP 19/19 | AC 18 (20 with shield raised) | F 6 R 4 W 6 | Longsword +7 1d8+4 | Athletics +7 | Diplomacy +5 | Intimidation +5 | Lore +3 | Medicine +4 | Religion +4 | Survival +4 | Thievery +2

Irritaded by Kyras sudden outburst, Seelah contiues trying to soothe down the man.

Haanar, i can see that you made a strong statement there which certainly cost an ample amount of willpower. I can respect that, even though i believe it was the wrong way. You could hace just come to him and talked to him in a normal way, asking what you wanted to know. I'm sure he would have answered your questions. And this wouldn't have been a sign of weakness at all. Opening up and admitting one's own personal sorrows or weaknesses is a telltale sign of really strong persons, because it is the best way to overcome them. And i believe you can get there, if you really want to. You could certainly become a well respected member of society with the many talents you are displaying, if you use them right.

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11

I'm staying with diplomacy, although that might be wasted now. Honestly i'm a bit irritated by the sudden intimidate, seems more than a bit random. The GM just stated we're on a track to convince him and made some progress already, which might now be ruined.

Well, an interesting move. And a risky one as Haanar has a high Will. I don't want to invalidate Kyra's natural 20 roll there, though...

Kyra's words cause Haanar to shrink a little bit into himself. He tosses his staff to the ground. "I will... return to the village with Lazino if they will have me." He speaks quietly and continues to frown.

Lazino shuffles forward and takes Haanar's hand. "Y-Yes, you must forgive me. I did what I thought was best, but perhaps I was mistaken. But now that all is out in the open, I hope we can try to move forward."

Lazino and Haanar began walking together back down the hill. Despite Lazino's words, he seems shaken and occasionally glances at Haanar with a concerned expression. Haanar continues to frown and is quiet.

The party accompanies the duo and upon returning to Salvoy, the villagers are overjoyed to see Lazino, though surprised that Haanar accompanies you. Lazino explains the young man's presence. The villagers seem to accept his explanation but seem to keep their distance from Haanar and he remains quiet. Whether he is contrite or biding his time is hard to discern.

Lazino's granddaughter is, of course, the most happy to see him and she offers the party the gold she promises. The village throw a celebration for Lazino's safe return and invite all of you to attend. Haanar does not attend, perhaps feeling it would not be appropriate.

And with that, the demo has ended. I hope everyone enjoyed this opportunity to try out Pathfinder 2nd edition.
