Sorry folks, the campaign wasn't showing up in my profile anymore, thought it got deleted somehow. Found out my messaging was blocked for some reason. Just got back on forums a couple days ago.
A quick roll call to see who is still here and if anyone still wants to continue. I will just skip through the Technic League camp and have everyone back at Oleg's to start from there if we continue.
Linzi of the Velvet Voice |
Quick question -- who is (sort of) the leader of the party/group? I've read all the posts to date, and I'm not exactly certain just yet. Since Linzi was an NPC that had some "starting at the very beginning" experience with all of you- she'd get at least a sense of the "pecking" order.
I ask this question as part of her background is to chronicle this expedition. If there's not an "established" leader, I totally get it since we are just starting the story, but any characters with assertive personalities please speak up on this discussion thread so I can frame my character and responses- especially at the start of the "relaunch".
Pyros Aldori |
Honestly, Signy was shaping up to be the leader, more or less. Pyros is prone to assume he’s in charge, largely because we were sent out here by the Swordlords and, well, he *is* a Swordlord, albeit a low-ranking one who had no say in the decision. I think he’s the only one in the group who’s explicitly looking to found a New Rostland outside the bounds of Brevic oppression, and some other party members might even be actively opposed to modeling our new nation on the Aldori model.
Faerin Cordova |
It was sort of shaping up to be Signy. Faerin is one of the ones likely to not be too fond of modeling things on the Aldori way, preferring a more naturalist, Green Faith way of harmonizing with the land.
She'll have strong opinions on some things but not necessarily the leader. She's more likely to fall into the High Pries role (pushing the Green Faith) or the Marshal role (presiding over rural and wilderness regions.)

Ok, we have three people. I haven't heard from Teryll, I can rerecruit some people if you guys want.
As to the leader role, Faerin could take the position of High Priest thus alleviating her concerns in that regard. There really isn't an "Aldori model" of governance. Restov calls itself a free city, but is still part of Brevory. And Restov is actually ruled by a mayor with Aldori support.
Pyros, your intentions actually glove well with the direction this AP as one of the major paths later is the decision to ally with Aldori.

Rolecall! Linzi of the Velvet Voice Reporting for duty Sir!
I may have another player if needed. GM Tyranius. He indicated that he hasn't played Kingmaker yet.
Ask him if he'd like to join. Tell him there are extra benefits if he decides to play one of the main NPC characters like you did.

Pyros is a Milanite himself, wants to free his people from Brevic domination and all that. But he's got no issue with the Green Faith becoming important in the new kingdom. Nothing about Aldori training has to require a big city like Restov. Plenty of room for wilderness and small rural settlements.
/wave, How's it going everyone?
Hey! I'm just glad to get going again.
Linzi of the Velvet Voice |
+1 at the getting going. Ready to unveil *my* Velvet Voice to everyone!
I have song lyrics galore to tuck into my character info section.
Also, Tyranius is a stellar roleplayer. He's going to be super-cali-fragi-listic-expialidocious to have as you all build a kingdom and I chronicle it!!!

New concoctions brewed for today:
Deadeye’s Lore, Cure Light Wounds, Remove Sickness

Come on people! We are trying to get this AP back off the ground.
Post. Post.Post. Preferably push posts, but I'll make lemonade out of anything at this point.
@ GM, we'll need posts from you every day even if it's NPC talk, or you pushing us forward into action. Also, how do we access the encounter maps? I don't see anything.

We appreciate the enthusiasm, but people do have real lives, and we are in the middle of a pandemic. Some of us are still dealing with full lockdown conditions, working from home and everything else going on right now.
Pyros Aldori |
Can anyone make particular use of the headband? If not, I might like to claim it for Pyros. It's good to have a smart leader.
I hope y'all don't mind me making an executive decision. My personal preference would've been to hash it out as a group, but it seems like that would have drug down our forward progress.
Faerin Cordova |
I'm a Wisdom caster so the headband doesn't really do anything for me, honestly the ring of protection is the only thing I can use.
Faerin Cordova |
Linzi. you know you can just sing without wasting rounds right?
I mean play your character however you want, it's all about fun in the end, but we've already had combats that lasted longer than the rounds of bardic performance you likely have in a day (not sure what feats etc . you have)
Just a thought, RP doesn't mean you have to blow a valuable resource.
Linzi of the Velvet Voice |
@ Faerin - I hear you.
To me, the roleplay is the Alpha and Omega. I had hoped that my post gave a window into Linzi's thinking, but I'll explain better. This is her first intentional march into danger. I had found it fun to mention Shelob the giant spider stories from LOTR. Considering halflings are like hobbits, it seemed whimsical.
Again, she recalled horrible large spider stories and was naturally afraid. Using a magical "inspire courage" to bolster herself seemed like good use of "the moment".
If it really is a friction point, I will fully backtrack - but given my character's thoughts and emotions, I think three rounds of Inspire made/makes sense. Plus, Linzi's got far more spells and ability. I promise you I won't be a useless bard by any stretch of the imagination.
Linzi of the Velvet Voice |
@ Gm. I did think of that, so it's why I mentioned "intentional march into danger". The Jamandi Aldori mansion was a ninja attack right? She was reacting and fighting to survive.
word semantics aside, Linzi is excited to be on this adventure and the thrill of combat and documenting life and death struggles. But I wanted to place her as a small -wee-little brown haired thing in a much larger conflict. There to observe and document the rise of a new king/kingdom -- be the person that discovered "The Beatles" - kinda thing.

Loot:
2x cure moderate
one lesser restoration
one invisibility.
four doses of antitoxin.
ring radiates abjuration
boots of springing and striding (+10' enhancement bonus to speed)
crowbar, rope, hardtack (essentially 3 days worth of trail rations that last practically forever), and other adventuring gear

I defer to Harrim. Linzi doesn't need them, they clash with her outfit!
I also created a Treasure chart. Maybe the GM can somehow place it as a "quick link" at the top or somewhere.
At the least, it should be a sharable chart, with tabs for each person where the main page allocates to each tab.
Please feel free to edit, assign, and adjust.

Not sure about Linzi, but somehow the rest of us all that + 5 Fort save, which the antitoxin will bump up the +9 for an hour.
Harrim's got a racial +2 vs poison, and can add another +1 casting Resistance.
Figure that gives us the best survivability as a group
Linzi of the Velvet Voice |
Linzim, Let me know if it gets to be too much.
@Harrim. it will NEVER be too much! Feel free to unleash any chains you need. As a player and as a character, Linzi can handle whatever. I THRIVE off the roleplaying.
As an aside, I have a misogynistic ranger in a campaign that constantly rerides the females in the group as "less able" than men to carry out their abilities. With 3 of the 6 players as female, I tone down things at times -afraid to hurt *real* feelings. But the group dynamics are phenomenal because of his personality flaw. Great roleplaying is happening.So..... bring your Groetus insanity.. Linzi might freak out, but as a player, I won't. No thin skin here.
