I sigh disappointed at the groups decision... Mmm I think this is a fools errand, an evil genie on the loose and a pissed off crime boss to boot while a dangerous and potentially evil former member of our society runs around....what could possibly go wrong...or worse. Oh yes, one of us wishes to quit!
I look around and note any potential positions of advantage I can take should/once all Hell breaks loose.

Apologies; I've been having trouble keeping up with most everything this week. I can't say I'm not surprised by what's happening here; not only do I not recall seeing a PC quit strictly for IC reasons, I'm also kind of not accustomed to winning social conflicts (no doubt far more for OOC reasons in that case)...
Anyway, CL check you say? Please correct me if we're talking about a CL other than my own, otherwise here goes:
CL check: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23
V pauses for a moment to process the sudden breaking of the impasse, gives Colin a politely cheerful nod for his tie-breaking bid, followed by a more soberly sportsmanlike nod in Saphera's direction, then rings the chime, producing a single, perfect tone...followed by a harmonious echo from Khanuur's collar.

While Riptide has some small ability with magic, he's happy to leave that to more skilled practitioners, regardless of their overinflated egos. Adamantine file, on the other hand, is definitely more within his wheelhouse. He gets ready to file like a maniac as soon as V gives the go ahead.

The efreeti tries but cannot stifle a huge grin as he is finally able to shed his bonds. Khanuur remembers his bargain though "I am free. You have honored your bargain, now I shall honor mine. The man you seek, Phlegos has been very busy. It seems he has found something in the earth he wished to explore. Why else would he buy all that equipment to move the earth in such a fashion? In this endeavor, he has joined with a disgraced naval captain, Jirandiel Waverider, formerly of the esteemed Chellish Navy. She is a pirate now. The shipping routes have not been safe due to her predation. That sea monster the captain has tamed is a scourge. Ah, but I save the best for last. No doubt the real reason you have risked so much for this information. Phlegos's slaves? They do indeed include a number of Pathfinder agent."
Khanuur stretches his neck and folds his arms across his chest. "Our bargain is complete. I shall take my leave, unless there is anything else?" He offers the remaining agent a wicked grin.

My goodmen and ladies, I recommend that we leave and travel with haste to get Phelogos and free out enslaved comrades, ....Corvius will be sure to know what we are doing so time is something that is only in our favor for a few brief moments to stay ahead of him I fear.

The efreeti laughs as he snaps his fingers. Suddenly, the world around the agents blur as the walls fade into bright colors. The haziness fades...
The air suddenly rushes about the Pathfinders as they materialize, filling their nostrils with dank smell of the salty sea. They find themselves in a cave.
An intermittent sucking sound echoes through the cave as sea water is drawn out before gushing back into this enormous underground cave. A deep pool of water conceals to an underwater passageway to the south. Eerie blue flames burn under the water, illuminating the entire cave in a rippling radiance. Fish bones and crustacean shells litter the bottom of the channel.
The water is approximately 5 feet deep and is treated as a deep bog for the purposes of movement. Map is updated. You may take one round of action. What do you do?

Suddenly the walls shimmer and a coldness seeps into the agents. They blink and look down to see that they had been standing in the water the whole time. Khanuur's trick finally is revealed!
Stairs to the north are in play and lead to the mansion. The party does not see the doors to the south. The water is five feet deep currently and movement is treated as in a deep bog.
A square that is part of a deep bog has roughly 4 feet of standing water. It costs Medium or larger creatures 4 squares of movement to move into a square with a deep bog, or characters can swim if they wish. Small or smaller creatures must swim to move through a deep bog. Tumbling is impossible in a deep bog.
All actions so far to stand, take another round of action.

Ok Vanzetti. Last action revealed an illusion/correction on my part. You all had been standing in the water but not realizing it. Totally allow taking move actions to get out, but in a deep bog so one square of movement costs 4. Double move will get you to current location but still not cleared the water. If you have magical means to get to shore, you may retroactively post that prior to making the swim check. Otherwise, will need a swim check.
