Lief opens the southern door out of the dining hall, and reveals a curving corridor that seems to go around the structure. There are doors on the outside, perhaps going to outer "tower" rooms, based upon the layout. The corridor seems quiet.

And so he does. Ques heads towards the middle area and looks through the open doors, ready for trouble. As he reaches an open doorway he readies his spear and darts into the opening ready to jab.

Naturally, Grey slithers along right behind him, ready to intervene if his patron finds himself in too much trouble.


Ques moves into the eastern wing of the room and can see through the transluscent doors to the north and south. Unfortunately, the things within those rooms can also see him....

North:
Several tables, covered in flowering plants and decorative figurines both large and small occupy the corners of this brightly lit large room. A large mirror hangs on the northwestern wall, while double doors lead north and south.

A small plant creature herein seems to be chained to the wall. It lets out a shriek that is muffled through the closed doors. It charges, then is yanked back by the chain. It screeches again and pulls mightily on the chain!

South:
Floor-to-ceiling bookshelves line the walls of this sprawling chamber. An ornate wooden table, covered with open texts and lit candles, and six chairs sit in the middle of this room. A massive mirror hangs on the western wall.

A powerfully built woman with a massive greatsword on her back stands here, looking through a book. But as Ques's shadow passes the door, she looks up, then her eyes go wide. Who are you?! She puts the book down and begins to stride towards the door. Then....she sees Grey, stops, and beings to pull the greatsword off of her back!

Lief quietly follows Ques towards the other sets of doors when the one near him has nobody behind it.

Sadly, as a tiefling, I’m a native outsider not a humanoid (and therefore not a valid target for enlarge person).

Ques has quite the different reaction. He immediately casts a DC 13 Daze spell on the brute and heads for cover, leaving Grey to fend for himself.

Some Day he will have more useful spells :)

Grey is not interested in holding the line by himself, particularly when Ques leaves. He backs off to a more defensive position and waits for the inevitable attack.

Readies an action to attack. He has reach so he also gets an AoO if the opponent moves next to him.

I'm sorry, are we all supposed to be posting combat actions? I looked at the initiative rolls and assumed only Grey, Doc, and Stel were doing so, but there weren't clear directions (that I saw) about it.

Stelmaria advances to the doorway where the woman lurks, but not entering the room yet, instead waiting to see if the woman closes with him.

If she does see below, if not, no biggie!

The woman whispers out a spell as she draws out her greatsword. The massive weapon begins to glow ever so lightly as she steps towards the door, preparing to open it.

Ithariel switches to his shield and scimitar moving forward, scanning for additional threats. He spies the Mandragora and wracks his brain for the best way to handle the little plant thing... and immediately shares what he knows with his companions!

Phew! two of those we encountered in my RoW game messed up a party of 6 since we didn't know anything about them... hopefully that roll helps!
