"The weapon is very nice. I'm sure Zeke would be glad to wield it, unless everyone would rather attempt to sell it.
Not that I think money is all that useful in this flyspeck town."
Grabbing a mug and a pitcher of water, as well as some bread, he heads outside.
"We don't want the Archbaron's prisoners to die on us, so I suppose we should make sure they have something to drink at least."

I've lost track of whether we know just how good the glaive is - masterwork, magic, or just sorta fancy. Pretty sure Wolfgang flubbed an appraise check under one of the spoilers on the last page.
Wolfgang gives a vague nod in response to Marcianus's comment. "Let me see just how nice a weapon it is."
The tiefling casts detect magic and gazes at the glaive. Anything? Either way, he reports the results, then adds,
"Zeke may as well use it for now; as you say, the Archbaron is paying us well, but unless Ingoe substantially broadens his inventory, we are going to have to travel to Remesiana just to find something to buy with our coin. Unless Sicaria or Gravenail have some objection, I say we let him have it until we have a reason to sell it."

Wolfgang follows Marcianus out to the square. "I suppose not. I'm not much of a fisherman, but I have been told that big fish are more like to bite at live bait than dead."

While Kels seems thankful for the food and water, Caggan starts with a pleasant, "Go f#*( yourselves." He does, eventually, eat, and the remainder of the day passes without incident.

"I don't recall that the Archbaron told us how long we were supposed to punish these two, but I don't plan to take up residence here permanently.
Should we let them go?"

Sicaria Rubei |

Sicaria digs at the dirt under her nails with the point of a dagger as she sits with her legs crossed on a chair, barely a care in the world from her appearance.
”And let criminals roam these streets once more? Heh. Pretty sure that’s counter-intuitive to the Archbaron’s plan.”

Marcianus Jeggare |

Marcianus eyes Sicaria for a moment. "Well, I don't plan to take up the profession of gaoler permanently, and I assume you are not either."
He looks out the window at the prisoners. "If we aren't going to watch them, and we aren't going to free them, the only other option is to kill them.
That was not the Archbaron's instruction to us, and overstepping to that level could definitely anger our patron. It would also likely turn the town against us, and the Archbaron.
I respect Infernal law as much as any noble, but that comes with the understanding that we will be left to face the entirety of the town's anger if they turn to riot. We are expendable to the Archbaron and he will gladly denounce us and enjoy watching the townspeople tear us limb from limb."
He turns back around. "Is there an option I am missing?"

Wolfgang von Erzteufel |

Wolfgang rolls a coin back and forth across the knuckles on his right hand. "Hmmm. We haven't been ordered to kill them, and the Archbaron specifically told us he did not think he needed a new sheriff at the moment, so I do not think he expects us to keep them in the stocks or here in the jail indefinitely."
He thinks for a moment, tapping the left thumb against each finger of that hand over and over. "But he does want us to find this Angel Knight, Lencia Visserene, right? We need to make some progress beyond getting a name that doesn't mean anything to any of us. If we think we've gotten everything we're going to get from Bolgart and his bard, I suppose we can let Bolgart go back to his tavern and just toss the minstrel out of town. But maybe it's time we have a talk with Tileavia Allamar at the church, and get a better look at that helmet while we're at it."
