"We'll see what we can do." Stitch stretches and rubs his eyes, blinking a few times. "I'll keep my eyes open for clues, but we'll need some head lights for Meat Wagon, hrm..." Stitch keeps his wayfinder at the ready and will attach it to Meaty and activate the light mode when it gets too dim.
Stitch rides atop Meat Wagon with dueling pistol in hand, because we all know whatever tore up this hero is going to try tearing us up too.

You said it was easy so that MIGHT work. If it doesn’t, I will hero point the roll.

18 is a failure. Using Vardarel's hero point.

With Clover's help Vardarel is easily able to follow the trail of carnage to an Ulfen man covered in blood chained to a tree. As you approach he warns you away. "Stop! Don't come any closer! The moon's almost out and I can't be sure that these chains will hold."

Khiari's thinking about it.
Khiari decides to ask on Bella's behalf. "What happens when the moon is out?"

Vardarel says “What happened to you?” gesturing towards the blood.
He looks around for signs of anyone or anything else in the area.

Also recall for that association with the moon.
"How'd you end up chained to a tree? There's dangerous things in these woods and we've been sent to help by the fey on the stump." Stitch waves back in the direction they came from before stretching his neck to get a good look around.

GM Halgur |

Vardarel and Stitch look around and find still more evidence of mayhem. A bloody greataxe lies next to a severed human arm.
"The moon will turn me. I know it. I was ambushed. Weres. At least a score of them. I killed at least a dozen but the bites...Too many bites. I'm cursed now. Cursed to become a murderous beast with moonrise. Get away while you can. Find my family. Tell them the fate of Tjolfor the Bruised."
Tjolfor is convinced that he will surely transform into a werecreature with the moonrise. He can be calmed and treated with Deception, Herbalism Lore, Intimidation, Medicine, or Werecreature Lore.

"Oh, pish posh." Bella struts her confidence towards the man. "Tjolfor the Bruised? More like Tjolfor the Brave if you ask me! Fought off werecreatures, didn't die to their wounds, and had the strength to chain yourself to a tree? Do you realize how strong you are?"

"Think of the story you will tell your family when you get back home. We'll patch up your wounds and help you return to your loved ones. Come."

Stitch does a double take to see if the man has two arms before retrieving the severed one and the nearby great axe. Maybe he's not right in the head.. or was tricked by illusions?
Stitch tries getting a better assessment, mentally, of Tjolfor.

Vardarel says “Viltydus sent us to find and hopefully rescue you. If he thinks you still have heroic potential, evidently there is a way to fix this so you could reach that potential.”
“Perhaps you are giving up too soon?”
Would you accept Occultism for knowledge of curses? Otherwise I will just skip this check as I don’t have the skills called for and the untrained Lore at +2 sounds like a bad idea. Feel free to bot the roll if you would accept Occultism.

"Snap out of it! The moon is already out, and you haven't the least bit of fur or fangs."

GM Halgur |

Tjolfor, while injured by multiple bites does not seem to have been affected with the curse of lycanthropy. It is unclear whether blood loss has made the warrior light-headed or if he's just naturally a little slow but you are eventually able to convince him that he will not be transforming any time soon. "You mean I haven't contracted the curse? Thank Gozreh! Quickly then. get me out of these chains before..."
The relief in the Ulfen's face dies as four large cats emerge from the surrounding woods, growling menacingly. "Oh no! They're back. There's no time to release me. Flee while you can! There's no sense in you all dying due to my foolishness."
