Gratius Laelius |
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 1 = 15 +2 vs human
What is this creature? I've never encountered someone so black.
Before we agree, lets ask her what is this ritual she's talking about.
What is this ritual? Will it destroy the shard?
GM PaleDim |
What is this ritual? Will it destroy the shard?
The ritual is my business alone, you will see soon enough... It will not destroy the shard.
"What are ye two?"
[dice=Know Religion]1d20+5
She glances at the poppet, presuming this is what you mean to ask about. This is the Vaultkeeper. The gods and their agents present themselves in many mysterious ways. You might entertain him for now, but make no mistake, we have no real use for you.
The poppet can be heard squeaking back at her. They seem so sure of themselves! At the very least this should be fun!
Yangrit Foehammer |
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23
Nodding in agreement with Ahmande, Yangrit quietly growls: "'Heads I win; tails you lose.' What a fine arrangement." As she speaks, she stashes her kama, slips her sling into her hand and loads it. She then begins stepping off to the side, muttering to her group: "Spread out. We are vulnerable bunched together."
If I had such magic I would blast them both to the Nine Hells right now!
GM PaleDim |
"What are ye two?"
[dice=Know Religion]1d20+5
Which creature were you targeting with this knowledge check? You can make one for each you can observe.
She sees Yangrit shifting and gets visibly irritated.
You there, what do you think your'e doing? I haven't gotten my answer yet and you think you'll simply surround me as we casually chat? I'll have this necrocraft behind me destroy you if you move another inch before answering me!
She glares at the dwarf intently.
The poppet can be heard squeaking to her. That dwarf is a tricksy one! She dies whether or not they play the game! They will know our power...
What is your answer? the woman booms out. You get the feeling she won't ask again.
Hootie Bell |
Sense Motive 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
Shoot, Target woman 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 231d6 ⇒ 1
Sneak Attack if Applicable 1d6 ⇒ 5
Add +2 for human.
"She talks too much. Rush her." Hootie begins the assault as she lets loose an arrow, having kept her weapon from the previous room...... she had to move closer though but she does so trusting her team to follow up.
GM PaleDim |
Okay, it's on! Everyone is aware, so there isn't really a surprise round, Hootie will go first just this round and then we'll follow initiative order.
Gratius: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Yangrit: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10

Zaashakar smiles as Hootie draws an arrow in her bow. Oh no you don't...
However, Hootie's arrow lodges in her shoulder and she snarls as she grabs the Vaultkeeper and ascends the stairs. When she reaches the top she points at the crimson crystal atop the obelisk nearest Hootie. A sickly red ray shoots towards her, striking her in the forehead.
6 STR damage; DC15 fortitude for half
She then begins to lift off of the ground, flying in the air 5' up with the poppet in her hand.
Meanwhile, as Hootie lowers her bow again her arms are already feeling much weaker than just moments before.

Yangrit Foehammer |
As Ahmande slides past Yangrit, she murmurs to him: "Do what you did to the last two monsters we fought. We need that one in the back to stay out of it until she's down."
That little thing... It seems to be her superior. It is probably more trouble than it seems. I wish I had a clear shot at it! Perhaps I can make her drop it. Setting her features in grim determination, she takes aim at the woman with her sling and fires.
Sling with cold iron bullets: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 181d4 ⇒ 4

greataxe@poppit: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25
damage: 1d12 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
GM PaleDim |
FYI it was not Aldran's turn, but it doesn't affect anything this round.
Ahmandé begins his inspiring words, but Gratius and Hootie aren't feeling it. Yangrit pops the witch with one of her sling bullets, who then dodges an acid dart from Aldran. The witch braces herself when Kirrote runs up the stairs, but is surprised when he slashes his axe at the vaultkeeper.
She cautiously backs away through the air, ascending a little further as she goes. she is now 10' up, over the stairs to the middle platform, only accessible by reach and ranged weapons.

Zaashakar cannot maintain her position and slowly descends to the stairs, cursing you. Again reachable by adjacent creatures.
She spreads her fingers out from her hands and sends a fan of flame at Gratius and Kirrote. 15 fire damage, DC15 reflex for half
The monstrous creature then moves around her and over towards the sarcophagus that Ahmandé is hiding behind. double move

As she tries to float backwards Gratius catches her with his glaive, and then again after she lands on the stairs. Now quite bloodied, she scowls at him intently. As she does this she repositions the poppet to hold it behind her back.

OH CRAP! The speed with which the big scary monster closed in on her and Ahmande alarms Yangrit to no end. She takes a cautious step back, loads her sling, and, as she whirls it above her head, muses: I wish I had a more powerful ranged weapon! Really, I wish I could fight this thing with my bare hands.

Hootie struggles forward, her sudden loss of strength telling, face determined to at least provide some aid.

GM PaleDim |
I don't suppose anybody has a scroll of lesser restoration?
Overall, you clearly have the witch on the ropes, but her monstrosity is just getting started (and you recognize that it's of the same type you fought in the museum when the auction was broken up.
Yangrit flings a bullet at the monstrosity but it ricochets off its hide and clatters against the far wall to the left. Hootie, feeling weak and very much not herself trudges forward in hopes to find a way to help the team.

GM PaleDim |
Yes, not an ideal option, but just in case it'd been forgotten and you wanted to weigh it.
Hootie Bell |
Kill her. Don't waste time on Hootie, I'll attempt to get a flank and use aid another actions...
Ahmandé |
Ahmande halts his movement as the gold-clad creature attempts to cut him off. He thinks twice about it, but suddenly darts forward, continuing around the sarcophagus to the far wall. He quickly rattles off a few arcane words, accompanied by motions that finish with him pointing directly at the woman on the dias.
"That should hold her... I hope! Focus on the gold undead!!! Pathfinders for victory!"
Kirrote |
Reflex save: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 1 = 21
Kirrote dodges as much of the fire as he can then steps towards the monstrous creature. He swings his axe as fiercely as he can.

Kirrote drives his axe into the monstrosity, beginning the arduous task of carving it up. It turns around to see who's bothering it and bull rushes him! The immense force drives the half-orc backwards and up the platform steps, running him into Gratius, but pushing them no further. Their weapons clatter and clang as they collide.

Shouldn't the necrocraft end its movement next to Kirrote as a result of the bull rush? The positioning of the necrocraft is important to Ahmande's next action.
If your attack is successful, your target is pushed back 5 feet. For every 5 by which your attack exceeds your opponent's CMD you can push the target back an additional 5 feet. You can move with the target if you wish but you must have the available movement to do so.
Emphasis mine, can move with the target but the initial impact is all that's technically needed.

I am being next to useless! Yangrit wracks her brain, trying to come up with a way to be useful in this battle, especially since she was one of its instigators. She suddenly remembers her acid flasks. It is worth a shot.
Swiftly tucking away her sling, she fishes around in her pack and comes up with two acid flasks. Tossing her pack back over her shoulders, she holds one flask in each hand and cautiously steps closer to the necrocraft. Double move action
GM PaleDim |
To be clear though Aldran, Kirrote is going to bleed out and die with no intervention.
The party starts to notice the pool of blood around Kirrote widening.
Aldran and Gratius rain their weapons down on the creature but cannot break through its skin this time around. Yangrit seems to return to the crowd surrounding it, hatching a plan.

Aldran gets an attack of opportunity on the creature.
