I said I would do recruitment, here it is. People requested I give them more options, so here goes.
Creation rules. 30 point buy, Core classes, core races. You can sacrifice 3 point buy to play any paizo class. You can sacrifice 6 point buy to play any third party class (approval required, most classes be approved). You can sacrifice 2 point buy to play any featured paizo race. You can sacrifice 4 point buy to play any race including 3rd party (approval required, I don't want to see you attempting to play really powerful races like Ogre and Gargoyle the answer is no).
Interested! I want to know your thinking skills, your ability to get along with others an solve problems. Answer the following questions, there are no right or wrong answers and you may take into consideration your class and races choices when answering. These are all hypothetical, you probably won't encounter all of these things.
1. You defeated the enemy and they surrendered, what do you do?
2. You are outnumbered or outgunned, damage along probably won't win the battle, unless you are rolling high and they are rolling low, what do you do?
3. You can't go onto the next room until you solve the puzzle and one of you can figure it out, how do you proceed?
4. Player vs Player conflict, how do you proceed on playing the game? The conflict can happen before the game starts, ie. two people don't like each other, during the game, ie. they don't like your decisions or you don't like his, or even in-between books.
5. An important NPC has been taking hostage and you are surrounded, like 10 guys ready to attack you all. One or more bad guys has a weapon pointed at the NPC if you retaliate, how do you proceed?
6. You are told there is a certain object in the room, but none of you see it, what do you do? Assume the object is the size of a baseball, so it ain't like you are looking for a needle in the haystack.

Slap restraints on them, strip their weapons and gear like component pouches, then let the talkers do their talking.

Quote:
2. You are outnumbered or outgunned, damage along probably won't win the battle, unless you are rolling high and they are rolling low, what do you do?

Tell the mages and talkers to retreat, hold the line/door until then can escape, then follow.

Quote:
3. You can't go onto the next room until you solve the puzzle and one of you can figure it out, how do you proceed?

Cover the PC who can figure out the puzzle, keep asking questions and trying to help as best I can.

Quote:
4. Player vs Player conflict, how do you proceed on playing the game? The conflict can happen before the game starts, ie. two people don't like each other, during the game, ie. they don't like your decisions or you don't like his, or even in-between books.

Handle it like adults: talk it out OOC via private message, bring issue to GM for final resolution if that becomes impossible. I do not engage in preemptive PvP, so that is a non issue as to me starting such an event.

Quote:
5. An important NPC has been taking hostage and you are surrounded, like 10 guys ready to attack you all. One or more bad guys has a weapon pointed at the NPC if you retaliate, how do you proceed?

Keep my cool, let the talkers do their job. Keep myself interposed between the baddies and mage/talker as best I can.

Quote:
6. You are told there is a certain object in the room, but none of you see it, what do you do? Assume the object is the size of a baseball, so it ain't like you are looking for a needle in the haystack.

If there's time, get out the bed rolls or blankets, drape them over the floor and look for the obvious lumps. If pressed for time, use spears/staves to sweep thr floor aiming for corners, then grab around til you find it.

Proposed character: human fighter, classic Sword and Shield, hold the line tank. Not a dummy with such a generous point buy, but definitely focused on defending the others and putting the damage on the baddiea.

The OP sounds like it’s a continuation from elsewhere. Is this recruitment open to anyone, or is there already a group you have in mind?

I would be interested in this adventure.

1. Take them prisoner and turn them over to the authorities when we can.
2. Look for an escape route if possible or get the party face to start talking and see if we can get a truce or unfortunately surrender.
3. Try to assist in getting the puzzle solved.
4. I try to keep player feelings out of my character's feelings. I may not like the decisions of another player but I let them make their choices. If it gets out of hand, I leave it to the GM to take care of.
5. Try to negotiate for release of the prisoner. If negotiations fail, then pray we can revive them after they are injured.
6. Get down on my hands and knees and start physically searching the floor once square at a time. Assuming it wasn't invisible and I or another character was high enough to cast Invisibility Purge. If I still can't find it, maybe one of us has it already in their possession and just doesn't know it, start looking through everyone's stuff.

This game is open to everyone. Number 4 is really important, I won't mention names, but it has happened in one or more of my games.

Looking at the players guide, warpriest seems to be a decent choice along with the divine commander archetype. Plus a free horse for the long rides. Maybe going Horizon walker prestige class.

Got it. This is Ouachitonian. Grod is an alias I recently configured for another Tyrant's Grasp recruitment, and I'll be submitting him here after I reconfigure to fit your character creation guidelines. he's a Half-Orc Paladin, so no worries about dropping the point buy down. (Though I'm taking it that archetypes are wide open. Do you have any limitation on sources we can take archetypes from?)

Hmm... I think I have an idea for a Trapper Ranger. I'll hammer it out and post it later, but the questions I can answer from his perspective now.

1: If we're in or near civilization, disarm and restrain them, then escort them to a town with a jail. If that's not feasible, tie them to a tree and make sure they stay fed and watered until it becomes feasible.

2: Orchestrate a fighting retreat. Make the opposition bleed for every inch of ground they gain, but make sure they don't catch us.

3:... Solve the puzzle. Not sure how this one is a question.

4: We can squabble over a game of darts in the tavern later. Comrades do not kill comrades. There are less bloody ways to solve problems. (PvP combat is bad juju, and we're here to have fun. We can work things out like civilized people.)

5: Surrender for now, bide my time and wait for a chance to spring a trap on them. Haste makes waste. Any good hunter knows the value of patience.

6: Organize the party and divide the room into sections. Sweep the room by the most efficient means possible. If available, sacks of flour or the ability to conjure water will make everyone's life easier.

1. It might be a trick. In the wild, neutralize them by removing all weapons and restraining them, then start talking it out, being careful to watch them carefully. In civilization, do the same but turn them in to the authorities. (Don't forget to search them for that one item you've been tasked with finding)

2. If we can't talk our way out of it, find the fastest easiest way to get out of there and prep/plan for what to do next time we run into them.

3. Depends. If I'm the one who can figure it out, get to cracking and hope the group has my back. If it's not me, provide security so that the chosen one can do what they have to do.

4. I find it hard to answer this one, as player disagreement should never end up in game. If I have an issue with a player's choices I just suck it up and move on. If a player has an issue with my choices I refuse to let them bait me so hopefully they'll drop it when I don't argue back. If it's something that can't be easily ignored then it's on the GM to make a ruling and we need to listen to them. Absolute worst case scenario I'd find a way to graciously bow out of the game so that everyone else could keep enjoying it, but I can't see it ever getting to that point unless we had a really toxic player.

5. Seems like my first instinct in a lot of these is to talk it out. If they can't be reasoned with and the combat's gonna happen then we should concentrate on getting to and protecting said NPC as early as possible.

6. First try any magical means possible to find said object, then look for any clues in the area. If nothing works at that point gotta crawl around the room feeling for it.

I have lately had a very strong desire to play an occultist. I think it's the last of the classes on my list of "must try". I'm more than willing to take a 27 point buy to try one out, so I'll start working up a build. May take a day or so since I don't know the AP and I'll have to look through the player's guide. Two quick questions though:
-Background skills or no?
-Campaign trait required or no?

"Eeeep, what a way to make an entrance!" You see a tall, white haired monkey, wearing robes which droop and sag on her bulky body who trips over herself and falls flat on her face. She looks visibly uncomfortable in her light armor, as you see two tails behind her trying to carefully pull her garments across her.

"Sorry to bust in like this! We sense great complexity here, fate has obviously ushered us together. Huh, eeeep? What's that...?", her eyes dart to the top left hand side of her vision, and then back down again, as if she is listening to something. Her tails swiftly come across to the forefront and grasp something translucent. Suddenly, a large scythe asperates into existence, made of vines and ferns which intertwine and congregate at the shaft in three large rings. Using her tails to hold it up, she continues. "It's true, Sympathy, our journey here has been prophesised by the Threefold Mistress. It's true, it's true! Can't you feel it my friend? We are here at last! Eeeep!"

Sorry to drop in like this, but i'm going to be working on this character specifics over the next few days. I've worked around with the build in the past, but would really like to play it properly. Aki is a Phantom Blade with a psythe who worships Magdh - The Eldest Three. She is a strong believer in fate, with a really strong connection to the fey and their lands. And yes, she is primarily a healer, who can hold her own in combat. I will answer questions when I can.

Edit- That is if you actually allow a Vanara in your game. She is very unique in that she didn't grow up with humans or the common races. She has an affinity for being an outcast but is very friendly and commonly accepting of others. Although she has a huge connection with the fey world, currently that is not her main priority as she is searching for her sisters who were taken away by poachers. She has a rather unique storyline, which I will work on writing up shortl

I'll throw my hat in the ring.

1: Enemy singular? Tie him up to interrogate. Enemies plural? Probably sit down and share a few drinks, get them to feel relaxed. Keep the party going as long as I can. See if any of them can show me a few new ways of getting some kicks. The boring ones die, the cool ones get to become travelling buddies slash pack mules slash trap checkers.
2: I fight all the same. Everyone that dies is a potential ally for later, so make sure to take out at least a couple before we retreat, so we can bolster our numbers. Plus it's great for morale to watch your own allies turn on you. Leave only once I feel we've dealt a larger blow than we took.
3: I break out a book and settle in for the long haul. Pretty good odds we'll need a few days' rations. Prep a few divinations if I can. Worst case, seek out someone who knows the puzzle already and coerce them to help.
4: Tension is the lifeblood of an interesting life, but all tension is meant to be matched with catharsis. I'd make sure to communicate with them as much as possible in private to remind them that we ultimately share the same goal, and that while I am perfectly fine with some quips here and there, we should always strive to be working co-op mode.
5: Let him die. Corpses are as useful as living people. I can revive him, or ask his corpse directly after the fight. The important part is just making sure they don't get away with the body.
6: Probably summon another pair of eyes, either magically or by buying the services of whoever we can find nearby. If I know I'm looking for -something-, then I'll probably default to finding -someone- instead.

Gonna be going for a cleric. With any luck I can have the sheet drawn up by tomorrow night.

Liberty's Edge

Consider me interested. Wizard, ideally Aether if possible, and if you’d allow Int to hit with Spiritual Weapon (or Cha if Cha caster).

1. You defeated the enemy and they surrendered, what do you do?

Too many variables! Distance to authority, zealotry of the enemy, affiliations of the enemy, remaining resources and external time pressures means this is a case by case decision. Reform is an option for some, and the more tragic the origin, the greater the road to redemption can seem, but time makes fools of us all.

2. You are outnumbered or outgunned, damage along probably won't win the battle, unless you are rolling high and they are rolling low, what do you do?

Expeditious Retreat exists for a reason, but if the plate wearers can’t shield the retreat and teleport isn’t an option, it may be necessary to face destiny.

3. You can't go onto the next room until you solve the puzzle and one of you can figure it out, how do you proceed?

If the puzzle is of appropriate difficulty, it is good to give others a chance to solve, but I may smirk at the discussion.

If the puzzle is perplexing and punishing, it would be my great joy to prove the quill is mightier than the sword.

4. Player vs Player conflict, how do you proceed on playing the game? The conflict can happen before the game starts, ie. two people don't like each other, during the game, ie. they don't like your decisions or you don't like his, or even in-between books.

Try to see where I was in the wrong and they were in the right. If unable to see, ask if my error can be explained to me to see if I can learn. If I am too emotional to logically discuss the matter, ask for a chance to reflect and cool down before we get back to the disagreement.

5. An important NPC has been taking hostage and you are surrounded, like 10 guys ready to attack you all. One or more bad guys has a weapon pointed at the NPC if you retaliate, how do you proceed?

Try to give a long term scenario and demoralize the opponent using logic and reason. If unreasonable, defer to the divine affiliated members as to their reason, as long as they are not Groetus worshippers so killing the NPC accidentally makes their mad deity happy.

Note: Knowledge (Religion) if dealing with evil religious sorts to see if I can turn their tenets back on them.

6. You are told there is a certain object in the room, but none of you see it, what do you do? Assume the object is the size of a baseball, so it ain't like you are looking for a needle in the haystack.

Glitterdust is a great spell for this problem. However, prestidigitation also works to magically clean an area, methodically using a grid as if this were an archaeological expedition.

Silver Crusade

It was an ordinary day for the paladins of Abadar, delivering the Coffer Creeper to his new home, but extraordinary things were taking place. As they arrived at Harrowstone in 4661, the chaos called their attention to help restore order, but that gave the Creeper all the opportunity needed to break free and flee custody. By the time chase was given, the Creeper had already passed into Numeria, and the trail turned cold. It was another 50 years before any lead as to the whereabouts of the Creeper would surface, but justice delayed is still justice, and so a group of paladins went into Numeria to find him.

Upon his arrest, his collection of androids was free, and Cain 9 devoted himself to undoing some of the damage his former master created by working for the Knights of Ozem in particular and the Shining Crusade in general, and returning to Roslar's Coffer after the recent turmoil. His tireless efforts to repair both functional necessities as well as everyday objects of sentimental value has given him a few odd friends, but everyone knows Cain and is amused by his endless fascination with time, space, and the stars beyond.

As to his family, such as it is, the Cain line of android have been magic missile focused sentinels since this body was first built. 9th in the line to wear this shell, Cain often thinks of his past and sometimes future soul twins. However, Cain sees the other freed androids as his kin and hopes they may be reunited, on this plane or the next.

Sovereign Court

1. You defeated the enemy and they surrendered, what do you do?

Strip their gear, and items, let the burly ones haul them off

2. You are outnumbered or outgunned, damage along probably won't win the battle, unless you are rolling high and they are rolling low, what do you do?

Use darkness and shadow walk into flanking positions

3. You can't go onto the next room until you solve the puzzle and one of you can figure it out, how do you proceed?

Stay in the shadows next to the one able to figure it out and keep them guarded and aware if anything happens

4. Player vs Player conflict, how do you proceed on playing the game? The conflict can happen before the game starts, ie. two people don't like each other, during the game, ie. they don't like your decisions or you don't like his, or even in-between books.

Minor pranks, sleight of hand only to return it later, something harmless, if it escalates from there withdraw and stick to their shadow unseen

5. An important NPC has been taking hostage and you are surrounded, like 10 guys ready to attack you all. One or more bad guys has a weapon pointed at the NPC if you retaliate, how do you proceed?

Let the talkers talk try to walk in any shadows to hide and appear by hostage taker

6. You are told there is a certain object in the room, but none of you see it, what do you do? Assume the object is the size of a baseball, so it ain't like you are looking for a needle in the haystack.

Have the magicy types detect magic if magical, otherwise follow in patterns as a group in the room, to mark off in sections what is clear what isnt

~~~~~~~~
I have a character design in mind for a shadowwalker rogue character, I will put it together, should be a 23 or 25 point buy, will post it when I have it finished shortly
Silver Crusade
1. You defeated the enemy and they surrendered, what do you do?
Remove their gear, strip them down to basic clothes and thoroughly search them. Bind their hands, use manacles if available. Take away any focuses, holy symbols, etc. Talk to them, find out their motivations. If near civilization turn them over to the authorities. If not near civilization it really depends on the circumstances. How cooperative are they etc.
2. You are outnumbered or outgunned, damage along probably won't win the battle, unless you are rolling high and they are rolling low, what do you do?
Strategic retreat if possible. If you can live to fight another day you can regroup and come back better prepared. Maybe diplomacy can't get you out of the situation as well. If none of those work, then you suck it up and do your best.
3. You can't go onto the next room until you solve the puzzle and one of you can figure it out, how do you proceed?
If I'm the one who can figure it out, then initially help others find the solution as well. This way more of the party gets to feel the thrill of solving the puzzle. If others are not able to grasp it I would provide the solution after giving enough time. If I can't solve it and someone else does, good for them, each player/character brings their own strengths to the party.
4. Player vs Player conflict, how do you proceed on playing the game? The conflict can happen before the game starts, ie. two people don't like each other, during the game, ie. they don't like your decisions or you don't like his, or even in-between books.
First, look for common ground and compromise, I try to be a peacemaker generally. Also look at what I may have done wrong. However, this is a PVE campaign, not a PVP one. Set differences aside for the game itself, work them out out of character preferably.
5. An important NPC has been taking hostage and you are surrounded, like 10 guys ready to attack you all. One or more bad guys has a weapon pointed at the NPC if you retaliate, how do you proceed?
Talk it through with the bad guys if possible. If not, then hopefully the party works to take out the bad guys with weapons aimed at the NPC first and one member works to grapple and defend the NPC.
6. You are told there is a certain object in the room, but none of you see it, what do you do? Assume the object is the size of a baseball, so it ain't like you are looking for a needle in the haystack.
Is it magical? If so, let's detect magic and see what there is. If that doesn't work, then grid out the room and have each member of the party search a section of the grid, then switch so that each area is searched at least twice. Also, if you have chalk, crush it up and spread it around to see if it covers anything you haven't noticed prior.
Character idea: Archon Blooded Aasimar Spirit Warden Battle Shaman (Valkyrie)
1. All archetypes are allowed for clarification. If you apply an archetype to a core class, it is still considered a core class for terms of point buy. If apply a 3rd party archetype to a core class, it is considered a 3rd party class.
2. Did forget about background skills and campaign traits. 2 traits plus a campaign trait please. Background skills is a no, it gets rid of class skills a bit, not fair to classes that are trained in all knowledge skills in whatnot.
3. For anyone using 3rd party stuff, please provide me a link. I've seen the same race from multiple 3rd party sources.
Unless necessary to answer OOC by the nature of the question, I'm answering more-or-less IC (that is, I may refer to an NPC or HP damage, etc, which of course isn't entirely IC).
1. You defeated the enemy and they surrendered, what do you do?
Turn them over to the relevant authorities for judgement and punishment. If there are no authorities to turn them over to, organize a tribunal from among the victorious party (Woe to the vanquished, after all). I would be willing to serve on such a tribunal myself, but prefer to do the harder work of enforcing decisions, not making them.
2. You are outnumbered or outgunned, damage along probably won't win the battle, unless you are rolling high and they are rolling low, what do you do?
I stand like Gandalf against the balrog, tell my party to run, and fight to my last breath, buying as much time and taking as many enemies with me as possible, before going home to see my lord Damerrich in person.
3. You can't go onto the next room until you solve the puzzle and one of you can figure it out, how do you proceed?
Defer to the big-brain wizards and their spells. There's a spell for that, right? If they need me to push, pull, move, etc, I'll follow directions. If they don't need me I'll pray. Divine aid is always helpful.
4. Player vs Player conflict, how do you proceed on playing the game? The conflict can happen before the game starts, ie. two people don't like each other, during the game, ie. they don't like your decisions or you don't like his, or even in-between books.
Try to hash things out via the discussion thread or PM. If that won't work, bring other players and/or GM into it (especially the GM). If we still can't come to an agreement, and the GM/party can't settle it for us, I figure the GM or party will ask one of us to resign.
5. An important NPC has been taking hostage and you are surrounded, like 10 guys ready to attack you all. One or more bad guys has a weapon pointed at the NPC if you retaliate, how do you proceed?
Fight our way free, trying to minimize damage to the NPC. What damage does get done to the NPC I (or another party member) will heal later.
6. You are told there is a certain object in the room, but none of you see it, what do you do? Assume the object is the size of a baseball, so it ain't like you are looking for a needle in the haystack.
Try to figure out why we can't see it and what we might do to rectify the situation. If it's invisible or something, start feeling around, sniffing, listening, and generally utilizing senses that aren't my eyes.
Any chance you'd consider Eliminating Feat Taxes?
How are we doing gold and HP?
Grand Lodge
1. You defeated the enemy and they surrendered, what do you do? Bind them or secure them with whatever means we have available to us and unburden them of their weapons, scrolls, wands, or whatever mischief makers they have on their person. Especially lockpicks.
2. You are outnumbered or outgunned, damage along probably won't win the battle, unless you are rolling high and they are rolling low, what do you do? Yell at the rest of the party to escape. I'll use whatever we have either inventory, ability, or environment to slow down our attackers so that my allies may fight another day
3. You can't go onto the next room until you solve the puzzle and one of you can figure it out, how do you proceed? Ask the party members if they have any idea how to solve this annoying barrier to the next room
4. Player vs Player conflict, how do you proceed on playing the game? The conflict can happen before the game starts, ie. two people don't like each other, during the game, ie. they don't like your decisions or you don't like his, or even in-between books. Talk to the players outside of the game, either individually or together depending on the situation, and see if there is anything we can compromise on to be able to continue the game without any bad blood
5. An important NPC has been taking hostage and you are surrounded, like 10 guys ready to attack you all. One or more bad guys has a weapon pointed at the NPC if you retaliate, how do you proceed? Arcane: cast sleep or color spray.
Face: Try to talk our way out of it.
Martial: comply with kidnappers demands to ensure that the NPC is safe... then I will unleash my FURY UPON THEM LIKE THE CRASHING OF A THOUSAND WAVES!!!
Divine: Pray? Cast sanctuary?
6. You are told there is a certain object in the room, but none of you see it, what do you do? Assume the object is the size of a baseball, so it ain't like you are looking for a needle in the haystack. Cast detect magic or see invisible to find out if it is hidden in plain sight. Otherwise I would talk to whoever told me about this object and ask them to elaborate because I clearly don't see what they are seeing
Character idea: Buff druid focused on melee attacks and wild shape. No animal companion. Spells are mainly for sustaining or buffing self
1. 1. You defeated the enemy and they surrendered, what do you do?
That depends on the enemy. I am the law! I am justice!
2. You are outnumbered or outgunned, damage along probably won't win the battle, unless you are rolling high and they are rolling low, what do you do?
If the enemy is superior, it is time to retreat and regroup. But take care that you reduce the numbers as good as possible.
3. You can't go onto the next room until you solve the puzzle and one of you can figure it out, how do you proceed?
Wait till he has solved, and support him as best as I can.
4. Player vs Player conflict, how do you proceed on playing the game? The conflict can happen before the game starts, ie. two people don't like each other, during the game, ie. they don't like your decisions or you don't like his, or even in-between books.
I will mail him with the gm in copy and ask him how we can transform this to a better story.
5. An important NPC has been taking hostage and you are surrounded, like 10 guys ready to attack you all. One or more bad guys has a weapon pointed at the NPC if you retaliate, how do you proceed?
No matter what I do, the hostage is most likely dead. Let me avenge it!
6. You are told there is a certain object in the room, but none of you see it, what do you do? Assume the object is the size of a baseball, so it ain't like you are looking for a needle in the haystack.
If I can´t see it, my eyes deceive me. I close my eyes and let my hands be my eyes.
I will apply with a human Paladin.
1. HP is PFS. Don't forget favored class bonus, which you can use to increase your HP by 1 or do something else with it.
2. Gold is 150 to start. Yes you may take traits that increase gold.
3. Yes, do away with Feat taxes. The improved sunder, the powerattack, etc, you now have easy access to.
Weapon focus will and others like it will apply in groups as follows: It will be categorized by weight every 5 pounds, then by melee/ranged weapons. It will says something like this: Weapon focus: Melee weapons 1 to 5 pounds. Weapon focus: Ranged weapons 6 to 10 pounds. Weapon focus: Melee weapons 11 pounds and up. I see very few weapons above 15 pounds, but they are categorized in the 11 and up section.
6 Weapon focus categories here. Melee weapons 1 to 5, 6-10 and 11 and up pounds
Ranged weapons 1 to 5, 6-10 and 11 and up pounds.
Question:
1. Spiritual Weapon - Aether wizard (https://www.aonprd.com/SchoolDisplay.aspx?ItemName=Aether) adds Spiritual Weapon and Ally to the Wizard spell list. Can a wizard use Int and an Oracle use Cha in place of Wis to hit with Spiritual _____?
Also, a correction - I'm Aether opposed by Water (https://www.aonprd.com/SchoolDisplay.aspx?ItemName=Water).
Pathfinder Adventure Path, Lost Omens, Rulebook Subscriber
I have a couple characters in mind, but the answers to the questions would be roughly the same for both of them.
1. Take their combat gear from them, tie them up and escort them to the local law enforcement.
2. Try and talk my way out of the situation. Unless it seems likely that they will kill us upon surrendering. In that case attempt a fighting withdrawal, holding the rear so my allies can escape.
3. Try my best to solve the puzzle. =) When that doesn't work spend the night reflecting on it, praying for guidance. If that doesn't work make a drawing of it, take it into town and hire a scholar to solve it for me.
4. If it is strictly between characters (not players) I proceed only with prenegotiated consent and only to the least permissive level that either of us is comfortable with. In general I will not start PvP, and have no interest in open, antagonistic PvP. If it seems like it will be a large aspect of a campaign I would gracefully bow out.
5. With words! Always talking before fighting if it can be helped.
6. Search very carefully. If after much searching I can't find it, assume its invisible and feel every surface carefully.
I think I would either play a Unicorn Sorcerer (Party heals and utility) or Paladin of Shelyn (front line melee).
Yes. Also, Cain 9, where you getting the Android from? Starfinder? If so, it is fine. If not, tell me where it came from.
Silver Crusade
I'm getting Android from Inner Sea Races, People of the Stars, Inner Sea Bestiary
https://www.aonprd.com/RacesDisplay.aspx?ItemName=Android
I am taking Repairing Nanites instead of Nanite Surge - the android's sentinel body is hardy more than heroic and is more likely to endure than to amaze.
Additional flavor text from People of the Stars:
"The artificially constructed humanoids known as androids are as much a miracle of technological achievement as they are an example of the sheer will of the multiverse. On Golarion, they’re endemic to Numeria, and for millennia, the native Kellid tribespeople have spoken of “the tattooed children of the stars” who occasionally rise from the technological rubble and ruins of whatever interstellar vessel crashed into that nation’s soil eons ago."
...
"Kellid shamans speak of great forges where androids are “born” from metal wombs
and are cut from electrified umbilical cords. Even androids can’t refute or verify such stories,
since most who emerge from Numerian ruins do so naked and without any memories beyond their initial egress into the wide, unfamiliar world."
Cain 1 never inscribed any notes on where he crawled into Numeria (~4000 AR) so the metal womb that birthed Cain may hold many similar sentinels or be empty and lifeless.
Backstory-wise, I assumed that paladins in Lastwall may have partnered with Ustalav to imprison some of the worst criminals - those not guilty of a crime worthy of execution but of life without parole, essentially - and sent a criminal I created (The Coffer Creeper) from Roslar's Coffer to Harrowstone as part of that partnership. The Creeper managed to escape into Numeria, where he eventually encountered Cain 8 and other androids, holding them through various means, mostly arcane. Cain 8 died ~6 years ago and Cain 9's soul was tethered to the shell after a week or so of reconfiguration. His time with The Creeper was brutal but thankfully short, as paladins from the Shining Crusade tracked down The Creeper to ensure payment for past and current crimes. Once freed, and knowing of the horrors that befell Roslar's Coffer under the Creeper and the orcs, Cain 9 traveled to Roslar's Coffer to help them rebuild and restore this remote corner of Lastwall.
Character-wise, Cain aims to be helpful (so much so I intend the Helpful trait as my 3rd trait) but that can lead to being a little cultish in his adorations. He's devoted to The Shining Crusade, the town of Roslar's Coffer, and to Yog-Sothoth in a way that only a wide-eyed child with limited understanding of the bigger picture typically shows. The Knowledge skills reflect book learning rather than real world experience and it was in his deep study of all the religions of Golarion that he stumbled across brief and incomplete mentions of Yog-Sothoth, leading to his fascination.
Alrighty! Working on a Mythweavers page for him right now, but I figured I'd post up the character concept here first. Seemed like he'd fit the Tyrant's Grasp rather well:
Godfrey Nightgrip is every bit the stereotypical Urgathoan; he wears the tattered robes, quaffs his beer noisily, and will rarely be seen travelling without a retinue of people following him around. He lives life as if he were a rockstar, always inviting others to push the boundaries of their comforts. He always proclaims that he has no interest in immortality like most Urgathoans, instead insisting he's just not ready to die yet. He's extremely tight-lipped, however, as to what he's waiting on.
In the meantime, Godfrey really knows no limits: He'll charm those he comes across with words or magic as he feels necessary, he'll desecrate the corpses of his allies or enemies alike, and he'll even entertain offers to betray others if the pay is good enough. There's little to make people wonder what is going on in his head, besides a ton of drugs.
For local law enforcement, however, it's a completely different story: Godfrey is far more compliant and cooperative than one would expect from most Urgathoans. He pays his taxes or whatever fines they deem fitting, he serves prison sentences without complaint, and generally accepts any legitimate grievances in stride. Always representing himself, Godfrey is far better at navigating the murky waters of bureaucracy better than any hedonist should be. He's a lesser evil, in the realest sense: A man who can always be counted on to be disgusting, disruptive, and at the center of whatever madness is going on. And even so, somehow able to co-exist, finding work and comrades when most would consider it impossible.
It should be a no-brainer why an Urgathoan would be a perfect fit for this campaign, and at that he's a heavily-support oriented one. I'll write up the highlights below.
Godfrey Nightgrip
Human Cleric 1(Evangelist) of Urgathoa(TN)
STR: 14
DEX: 10
CON: 14
INT: 12
WIS: 19
CHA: 14
Feats: Harmonic Spell(1), Lingering Performance(Human)
DoubleGold:
I am almost done with Justus van Richten.
Just a question, does it make sense to focus on an exotic weapon? And if so on which. I was toying with a butchering axe, picked up after an orc attack, but if you just use it for one or two fights and then becomes obsolete, it would make no sense!
Working on the profile for him today, but I've rolled up an occultist. Still deciding whether to take occult historian to take advantage of any ruins we run into or just vanilla for object reading.
He's starting off with transmutation and abjuration and is a melee occultist with a heavy flail. He's a little odd as he's been wandering for a while and is more interested in abandoned places and old objects than he is people, although he is relatively friendly when approached and can be quite helpful if befriended.
Now that I have a character build started up a couple of my answers would change. He's not much of a talker so he'd now be reading auras, studying equipment, using prognostication to ask spirits for assistance while someone more diplomatic did the talking.
Okay, so you will be fighting undead and humanoid creatures, so if you are looking for certain properties, that helps. So if you want to be proficient with the weapon, you would look at the weight of the weapon. Let's say you want the to be really good with bastard sword for instance (6 pounds). The first feat you take is Exotic weapon proficiency: Melee weapons 6-10 pounds rather than exotic weapon proficiency bastard sword cause we are doing away with feat taxes. The the second feat you'd take would be Weapon focus: Melee weapons 6-10 pounds which gives you weapon focus in simple, martial and exotic weapons of that weight and ultimately the bastard sword. Then feat three would be weapon specialization melee weapons 6 to 10 pounds which would include the bastard sword. Hope that helps.
This AP looks pretty cool and I'd like to take part. I was wondering about playing a Duskwalker as they were mentioned in the Tyrants Grasp Player's Guide but I wanted to know if they counted as a 'featured paizo race' by your stat restriction as they appear in Planar Adventures (and possibly other sources, unclear)?
1. You defeated the enemy and they surrendered, what do you do?
Order them to stand down and disarm while we work out what should be done with them given the circumstances. Read some minds of needed to work out what and who they are.
2. You are outnumbered or outgunned, damage along probably won't win the battle, unless you are rolling high and they are rolling low, what do you do?
"There is always a way out, one need only find it." Think and come up with a better plan than just to fight.
3. You can't go onto the next room until you solve the puzzle and one of you can figure it out, how do you proceed?
Puzzle makers tend to make theirs Puzzles solvable. So think how do they think, and you will know how they puzzle themselves. If that fails work out what the consequences are for not jumping this hoop and if its worth no jumping it.
4. Player vs Player conflict, how do you proceed on playing the game? The conflict can happen before the game starts, ie. two people don't like each other, during the game, ie. they don't like your decisions or you don't like his, or even in-between books.
Then stop and seek to understand their point of view, people do not tend to get upset unless something has triggered them. Most likely miss communication or a seance that their voice is not being respected. Get communication going with understanding and come to a joint all agreed/solution. Play by the Wheeton rule of Game playing. "Don't be a D**k"
5. An important NPC has been taking hostage and you are surrounded, like 10 guys ready to attack you all. One or more bad guys has a weapon pointed at the NPC if you retaliate, how do you proceed?
They has not killed the NPC yet, which means they want something, learn and understand what that is and use it as leverage, to get into a more advantageous position.
6. You are told there is a certain object in the room, but none of you see it, what do you do? Assume the object is the size of a baseball, so it ain't like you are looking for a needle in the haystack.
Can we trust the information?
IF no, find out why we are being lied too.
IF Yes, The best place to hid something is in plan site. Look again and understand just what is in the space. Dose it have a logic to be there. Could an object hold what we are looking are, or if invisible. what volume of space could hold it. Then look again with new parameters.
Elvar Lovik: Duskwalker Paladin [Divine Hunter]
Found 11 years ago near the ruins of Rosslar's Coffin, he was adopted by a passing Duskwalker who recognised him for what he was. The Duskwalker raised him in understanding who he was and his role in the world. However, Elvar found himself chosen by Erastil, the Hunter God, who has asked him to 'be my Paladin once again and save your community'.
Elvar determines that his previous spirit was a Paladin who may have died at Russlar's Coffin, and now it's his duty to fulfill the path his last life started down. It was time for Elvar to return him and reclaim his life.
1. You defeated the enemy and they surrendered, what do you do?
"Oh gee, um wow, I didn't expect them to give up. Uh guys, should we like, do something-wait you're asking me? Ok, ok, I got this, take a deep breath. Alright, let's uh, take away their weapons. Ooh and magic stuff, so they can't uh magic us. Let's tie them up and take them to the town. Maybe once they serve their punishment for their crimes, they can be constructive members of the community!"
2. You are outnumbered or outgunned, damage along probably won't win the battle, unless you are rolling high and they are rolling low, what do you do?
"Oh wow, that did not work out at all. Turns out they took us to a trap. Guys, I'll hold them off with my arrows, keep them at bay. Rest of you get out of here-don't worry I'll be following right behind you covering the escape! This is not the end of us, just a setback!"
3. You can't go onto the next room until you solve the puzzle and one of you can figure it out, how do you proceed?
"Ok, is there anyway I can help [Name of one who can solve it]? I'm happy to do anything. Otherwise, just point me to a spot where I won't get in your way." Once in a quiet spot, he starts checking his arrows and supplies, and if he still has time, sends up a prayer up to Erastil. If the location is right, he'll do his Deific Obedience as long as it won't get in the way of the others.
4. Player vs Player conflict, how do you proceed on playing the game? The conflict can happen before the game starts, ie. two people don't like each other, during the game, ie. they don't like your decisions or you don't like his, or even in-between books.
OOC: I honestly don't always notice it when it happens to other people, but when it's someone I have a disagreement with or has a problem with me, I try to speak to them privately, sharing my concerns in an honest manner, and hope to find a compromise. If it doesn't resolve, I PM the Game Master and let them know what's occured and ask their advice.
5. An important NPC has been taking hostage and you are surrounded, like 10 guys ready to attack you all. One or more bad guys has a weapon pointed at the NPC if you retaliate, how do you proceed?
"Alright everyone let's stay calm." He says his bow pulled and ready to fire at the guy with a hostage. "If you release that hostage I promise all of you will be able to walk out of here alive, on my honor. Currently that person is the only thing keeping you alive. But do not think I cannot kill you where you stand if you hurt a hair on their head, and my friends will make your friends choke on their steel and lightning. We have killed a lot worse than you for a lot less.
"So, let's put that weapon away, and talk like civilised people."
6. You are told there is a certain object in the room, but none of you see it, what do you do? Assume the object is the size of a baseball, so it ain't like you are looking for a needle in the haystack.
Elvar will look up at the ceilings and walls while his team mates are scampering on the floor. When they ask why he's doing that he says,
"If I wanted to ambush someone from above, I'd also tell them to look at the ground for some invisible object."
A Duskwalker is a paizo featured race, since they are in Tyrant's grasp.
Um, Gm Panic, it costs 6 to play a 3rd party class, so you'd be sacrificing 4 for the race and 6 for the class to be entirely 3rd party for a total of 10.
humm I think i'm going to withdraw form this one. Just not feeling it this time.
best of look everyone. Have a good game GM :)
Desi Lorrimor, Dhamphir occultist.
1. You defeated the enemy and they surrendered, what do you do?
Simple enough. Tie them up, take their gear and take them to the authorities. That last part may vary given the circumstances. I may let them go if they are truly repentant. That will not be the case for any member of the Whispering Way. They will receive no sympathy from me.
2. You are outnumbered or outgunned, damage along probably won't win the battle, unless you are rolling high and they are rolling low, what do you do?
A tactical retreat would be in order. I would pick off any stragglers until as many people as possible retreat. I have no qualms over leaving behind teammates if there's no other way to retrieve them, but I will do my best not to do so under the circumstances. If it's the Whispering Way... I can't guarantee I will be as rational.
3. You can't go onto the next room until you solve the puzzle and one of you can figure it out, how do you proceed?
I',ve had a knack for solving puzzles since I was a child. I should be able to figure it out, but I'm not above letting someone else have a go if the need comes.
4. Player vs Player conflict, how do you proceed on playing the game? The conflict can happen before the game starts, ie. two people don't like each other, during the game, ie. they don't like your decisions or you don't like his, or even in-between books.
I don't have much of anything to be against. The pure exception is using necromancy to create undead or helping the Whispering Way in any way possible. I'm less lenient with them and the undead as I am less likely to spare them.
5. An important NPC has been taking hostage and you are surrounded, like 10 guys ready to attack you all. One or more bad guys has a weapon pointed at the NPC if you retaliate, how do you proceed?
I am more of a trigger happy person myself, but if I know my party, I am willing to let others try to negotiate or bluff their way out. If there's an opportunity to physically free the hostage I would take it.
6. You are told there is a certain object in the room, but none of you see it, what do you do? Assume the object is the size of a baseball, so it ain't like you are looking for a needle in the haystack.
I use my knowledge of the arcane to find the object. If I have spells for that matter, Ixwill use them as well. I'm also been told I'm quite the perspective person, so that could help.
I have her mostly done in her profile.
This will be my application. A law abiding citizen, a massive muscled paladin in shiny armor, with a freakish huge AXE in one hand and a book about poetry in his other
I am interested. Did not see your recruitment until you posted about it just now. I am Cadan Xera in your Dead Suns campaign. How long do I have to put a character together? I probably can't get it finalized in the next 24 hours, but I might be able to put together a sketch in that time.
Is it 30 point buy or 20 point buy? Your last post to Gm_Panic made it look like it is 20 point buy but the OP says it is 30 point buy.
I'm still here, still interested. I can have a sheet up within pretty much 2-3 hours, I just need to know what I'm looking at in terms of starting gold so I can buy my equipment as needed. Aside from that, I'm ready to roll.
That's what I thought, but I had misread DoubleGold's last post as saying that a 3pp race + 3pp class would leave *only* 10 points to buy with. What he was actually saying is that it would cost 10 to leave *only* 20 points to buy with.
Anyway, I would love to put something together. If I have more than tonight to finish I will post a concept, but it will take me some time.
Characters don't have to be complete, but at least have questions answered and backstory if you so choose. I will be reading backstories in addition to answers. Selections might take a day or two after recruitment closes.
Also, maybe GM Panic misunderstood, or he panicked. But you can sacrifice at most 10 points, so you can't go below 20 point buy, which is what PFS allows anyhow, only PFS doesn't allow all this extra good stuff I'm allowing.
Forgot Starting Gold 150, gold gaining traits allowed.
Is Paizo's Vampire Hinter class considered Paizo or 3rd party?
Adjusted as necessary!
Scarab Sages
I wish I'd seen this before - where did you post this?
What if I would like to play a slightly customized version of a core class (or rather, certain Archetypes - already existing - would be slightly customized enough to make them compatible)? I was thinking a particular kind of Dhampir Bard. PM sent on the crucial details.
Campaign Trait: The Outsider.
I see a few other people with Dhampir ideas - if we wind up with too many of those (a rare occurrence, indeed!), I might wish to make him a Tiefling, instead. Would you allow any of the "Variant Abilities and Physical Features" (I don't mean heritages)?
I answered the questions more as myself than as my PC, but I had him in the back of my mind and, honestly, I think he would answer similarly.
1. You defeated the enemy and they surrendered, what do you do?
It depends a great deal upon the enemy. The answer will probably (but not always) start with disarming them. After that it's a question of how much time I have and what else is going on. I may prefer to turn them in to some kind of authority, but that is often not an option. If they can be trusted, the old "agree not to bear arms against us and our kin and go free" Prisoner of War agreement can be resorted to. The worst case scenario is binding them and dragging them along until something else can be done with them. "Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer" as they say.
2. You are outnumbered or outgunned, damage along probably won't win the battle, unless you are rolling high and they are rolling low, what do you do?
Try to find some way to even the odds, either via spell or some kind of interaction with the environment. Sometimes discretion is the better part of valor and you run away. When that's not an option (or you've decided it's you or them, hell or high water) then you grit your teeth and make the best of it, sending up some prayers.
3. You can't go onto the next room until you solve the puzzle and one of you can figure it out, how do you proceed?
I'm not sure I understand the diffculty. The answer is to take the time to solve the puzzle and then go on.
4. Player vs Player conflict, how do you proceed on playing the game? The conflict can happen before the game starts, ie. two people don't like each other, during the game, ie. they don't like your decisions or you don't like his, or even in-between books.
There's a number of players (and/or characters) I haven't liked. I have always kept it to myself. There's no need building bad blood. I've yet to see anyone cross any lines, but if they did I imagine it would be obvious to everyone. We'd talk it out like adults and if it were irreconcilable I guess one of us would have to step down from the campaign. Hard to imagine that happening with me.
There was one occasion where a character did something pretty evil and my character (a Paladin) was pretty pissed about it in character. It lead to some pretty good role play between us, as the Paladin had saved his butt so many times that, in character, he took her reprimand very seriously.
5. An important NPC has been taking hostage and you are surrounded, like 10 guys ready to attack you all. One or more bad guys has a weapon pointed at the NPC if you retaliate, how do you proceed?
It depends on the circumstances. But ideally we try to talk it out. Some spells can come in handy here if we're in initiative and can cast before the bad guy gets a chance to pull his move off.
6. You are told there is a certain object in the room, but none of you see it, what do you do? Assume the object is the size of a baseball, so it ain't like you are looking for a needle in the haystack.
Start looking deeper. If there's furniture, cabinets, shelves, etc. you start searching them. If it's an empty room then you can narrow things down a lot and use some tricks to make it show up. Spread flour all over the place and see what lays flat and what lands on a baseball-sized object. Or blast Create Water all over the place and see what the shape of the water turns up. There are other clever low-level spell solutions. Worst case scenario is getting down on all fours and checking the floor.
I'm still working on a name and the details, but I'm pretty set on Dwarf. He's a longtime resident of Lastwall and a well-known and liked part of the community there. His campaign trait will most likely be The Lawbringer, The Pessimist, or The Reclaimer. For class I'm considering Ranger (not sure about an archetype or not), Dwarven Scholar Bard, Deep Marshal Magus, or possibly Covenbane Slayer.
Is that enough detail to stay "in the running"? Not sure I can get more than that in the next 24 hours; they're pretty busy ones for me.
Alright, ironed out that ranger who I answered the questions as.
Kenneth Avery is a sad figure of Roslar's Coffer. Newcomers know him as the strange man who speaks with ravens and occasionally comes to town to trade furs and meat for various supplies, such as arrows. He says little on these trips, and is often seen looking at the outskirts of the town with a pained expression. Natives recognize him as the son of the ranger Micah Avery, who perished twelve years ago when the town was destroyed, giving his life to defend innocent civilians as they fled. Micah's animal companion, a raven named Tremaine, had been tasked with getting the boy to safety, a task the aging bird accomplished by bringing the child to the unkindness of ravens that resided in the nearby forests.
Kenneth was raised by the birds for the most part, living off the land for much of his teenage years until the town began to rebuild. The young man tried to rejoin the community, but couldn't bear the sight of the scorched earth where the homes of his friends and family used to be. It's a sight he torments himself with on his trading trips, where he does his best to support a community that it would hurt to much to become a full part of, and in return obtains the supplies to make his hunting and living in the woods easier.
Answers to the Questions, reposted for ease of access.:
1: If we're in or near civilization, disarm and restrain them, then escort them to a town with a jail. If that's not feasible, tie them to a tree and make sure they stay fed and watered until it becomes feasible.
2: Orchestrate a fighting retreat. Make the opposition bleed for every inch of ground they gain, but make sure they don't catch us.
3:... Solve the puzzle. Not sure how this one is a question.
4: We can squabble over a game of darts in the tavern later. Comrades do not kill comrades. There are less bloody ways to solve problems. (PvP combat is bad juju, and we're here to have fun. We can work things out like civilized people.)
5: Surrender for now, bide my time and wait for a chance to spring a trap on them. Haste makes waste. Any good hunter knows the value of patience.
6: Organize the party and divide the room into sections. Sweep the room by the most efficient means possible. If available, sacks of flour or the ability to conjure water will make everyone's life easier.
Here's my backstory finalized:
Elvar Lovik: Duskwalker Paladin [Divine Hunter]
His trait is the Reclaimer.
Backstory:
Found 11 years ago near the ruins of Rosslar's Coffin, he was adopted by a family of farmers from the outskirts of town. They had lost children to the events of the previous year, and so took the seemingly 8 year old boy into their family. He never quite fit into the community, with his strange gray skin, and at nights he would have horrific nightmares where he roared like an animal. But his adopted family (The Loviks) accepted and loved him.
3 years later, a passing Duskwalker recognised him for what he was. The Duskwalker offered to take the boy as his ward, to help him understand his role in the world. Elvar urged his family to accept, and they reluctantly agreed. With many tears, Elvar left that day.
Elvar traveled with his mentor for many years to hundreds of different communities around the world, where he worked to live the Duskwalker purpose-slaying undead. He even spent a couple of years in Nidal, working with insurgents to undermine the ruling class who used undead for their nefarious purposes.
However, while Elvar grew skilled with the bow, he never truly felt like he belonged in this world. He missed his home, and wanted a true sense of belonging and acceptance. He still had the nightmares, and his mentor told him those were possibly the lingering memories of his last life, before he was reborn as a Duskwalker.
One night, in the midst of a night terror, he became face to face Erastil, the Hunter God, who has asked him to 'be my Paladin once again and save your community from the terrors that are coming'. It seems that his previous soul had once served Erastil, likely dying at Russlar's Coffin and now he had been chosen to do so again.
Elvar awoke, blessed with new divine abilities, and knew it was time to make his own way. He thanked his mentor for all he had done, but it was time for him to fulfill the path his last life started down.
It was time for Elvar to finally reclaim his life.
questions:
1. You defeated the enemy and they surrendered, what do you do?
"Oh gee, um wow, I didn't expect them to give up. Uh guys, should we like, do something-wait you're asking me? Ok, ok, I got this, take a deep breath. Alright, let's uh, take away their weapons. Ooh and magic stuff, so they can't uh magic us. Let's tie them up and take them to the town. Maybe once they serve their punishment for their crimes, they can be constructive members of the community!"
2. You are outnumbered or outgunned, damage along probably won't win the battle, unless you are rolling high and they are rolling low, what do you do?
"Oh wow, that did not work out at all. Turns out they took us to a trap. Guys, I'll hold them off with my arrows, keep them at bay. Rest of you get out of here-don't worry I'll be following right behind you covering the escape! This is not the end of us, just a setback!"
3. You can't go onto the next room until you solve the puzzle and one of you can figure it out, how do you proceed?
"Ok, is there anyway I can help [Name of one who can solve it]? I'm happy to do anything. Otherwise, just point me to a spot where I won't get in your way." Once in a quiet spot, he starts checking his arrows and supplies, and if he still has time, sends up a prayer up to Erastil. If the location is right, he'll do his Deific Obedience as long as it won't get in the way of the others.
4. Player vs Player conflict, how do you proceed on playing the game? The conflict can happen before the game starts, ie. two people don't like each other, during the game, ie. they don't like your decisions or you don't like his, or even in-between books.
OOC: I honestly don't always notice it when it happens to other people, but when it's someone I have a disagreement with or has a problem with me, I try to speak to them privately, sharing my concerns in an honest manner, and hope to find a compromise. If it doesn't resolve, I PM the Game Master and let them know what's occured and ask their advice.
IC: "Look, just because we disagree on certain matters doesn't mean we need to fight. We need to work together to be part of the community. Let's try and work on some kind of compromise.
5. An important NPC has been taking hostage and you are surrounded, like 10 guys ready to attack you all. One or more bad guys has a weapon pointed at the NPC if you retaliate, how do you proceed?
"Alright everyone let's stay calm." He says his bow pulled and ready to fire at the guy with a hostage. "If you release that hostage I promise all of you will be able to walk out of here alive, on my honor. Currently that person is the only thing keeping you alive. But do not think I cannot kill you where you stand if you hurt a hair on their head, and my friends will make your friends choke on their steel and lightning. We have killed a lot worse than you for a lot less.
"So, let's put that weapon away, and talk like civilised people."
6. You are told there is a certain object in the room, but none of you see it, what do you do? Assume the object is the size of a baseball, so it ain't like you are looking for a needle in the haystack.
Elvar will look up at the ceilings and walls while his team mates are scampering on the floor. When they ask why he's doing that he says,
"If I wanted to ambush someone from above, I'd also tell them to look at the ground for some invisible object."
I'm finishing up the sheet on mythweavers but I wanted to check something. Are we doing feat taxes like you said earlier? I want to know if I need to get point blank shot or anything like that or not.
Hm... color me interested, provided interest is still open.
Probably would sacrifice 5 points of buy to get a featured race and a non core class (but don't hold me to that).
Let's start with the questions and go from there.
1. You defeated the enemy and they surrendered, what do you do?
This one depends greatly on who the enemy is and a lot of circumstantial context (IE: have I previously agreed to some allied NPC faction to kill this person in exchange for their aid) but in most cases I am in favor of accepting the surrender and thoroughly disarming them. This would be my go-to for nameless enemies and minions, even most mini-evils. Obviously some foes get the sword then and there (I am sorry, even if I am playing a lawful good type if this person previously killed someone the character cared about, the character would be hard pressed not to finish them off on the spot... and if this is the second or third time this guy has taken arms against me after "surrendering" then your current surrender is likely to be met with death) but that is the general rule I play by.
2. You are outnumbered or outgunned, damage along probably won't win the battle, unless you are rolling high and they are rolling low, what do you do?
Again, kinda depends. If we have reason to believe that they will accept a surrender, it might be best to live to fight another day. If not, or if my character can perform an adequate 'delaying action' to get the rest of folks out, then toss something that folks can remember me by (or perhaps resurrect me with) to them and delay as much as possible. Maybe I get lucky, maybe I don't, but at least the others escape.
3. You can't go onto the next room until you solve the puzzle and one of you can figure it out, how do you proceed?
If I can solve it, I solve it. If one of my folks can solve it I do what they need for me to do to help them... even if that is sitting in the corner silent to let them think.
4. Player vs Player conflict, how do you proceed on playing the game? The conflict can happen before the game starts, ie. two people don't like each other, during the game, ie. they don't like your decisions or you don't like his, or even in-between books.
I have had that happen on occasion. I discuss things out as best as possible in the discussion page. I explain why I am having issues and try to listen to why they are doing what they are doing. Worst case, I appeal to the GM to help arbitrate things (or if I am the one that really isn't fitting in with the rest, I withdraw at an opportune enough time so that the GM can replace me with little interruption to the gameplay).
5. An important NPC has been taking hostage and you are surrounded, like 10 guys ready to attack you all. One or more bad guys has a weapon pointed at the NPC if you retaliate, how do you proceed?
If I can de-escalate the situation using words, I try that. If someone has a good shot on the guy with the gun, I try to keep his attention while that person takes aim.
6. You are told there is a certain object in the room, but none of you see it, what do you do? Assume the object is the size of a baseball, so it ain't like you are looking for a needle in the haystack.
Is this item crucial? If so, we keep looking until we find it or can't logistically stay there longer. If not, does someone really want/need this item? Keep looking for it then. If no one can find it, no one cares about it, and it isn't needed... well, leave it for the next party through there to find.
Questions were done early on, and I'm still working on a full build, but here's at least a simple background for my half-elf occultist which I will flesh out with more detail tomorrow.
Background/Personality:
Korin was always fascinated by the power of history, and especially by items left behind. He felt that peoples' possessions not only told the stories of those who were no longer there to tell their own tales, but sometimes contained more power than just a story. Since the ravaging of Lastwall, he has been wandering the land searching out stories and items of interest, and has recently been dividing his time between speaking with the elders of Rosslar's Coffin and searching through the lands and ruins surrounding it.
Korin is not truly antisocial, but is often viewed as such by others due to his tendency to pay more attention to items and stories than to the people around him. In truth he is quite friendly when approached and enjoys good camaraderie and conversation, although he does have a tendency to get distracted when an item of potential historical value is found.
