I'll allow it. If you try to make a distraction in combat follow the rules more closely. But if it'sjust flavor do it without any action required

Haha, yes. Just flavor. For sound-effect distractions, I’ll likely use Lunk, since Mockingbird includes Ventriloquism.

Savi hears Baraxx and decides to finally say what’s been eating at her for the past couple missions.

“Okay… I gotta say it. Two things I think we can all agree on: we make a great team, but morally, we’re all over the black-and-white-and-blue-and-orange extremes. So I think Baraxx nailed it just now—we all want the multiverse intact.

“So can we maybe not deliver weapons to asshoIes, take assassin jobs, or murder town guards for guarding towns? I wouldn’t ask Baraxx to run a soup kitchen either. Maybe we just try to focus on one simple thing we can all buy into: keep the multiverse intact. And yeah, I know we’ll have to fight and kill… but at least I can justify ending a foe who’s hellbent on destroying entire planes. Self-defense too, but not if we’re the ones provoking shít.”

"Well, seems like that message in that tower was probably about Tenebrous getting something. So we might go there. Also we have a map to a place that might be the same place. Just need some landmarks..." Nik explains, starting to ramble about how to orient yourself without a compass equivalent.

The Last Tower, Present day

The journey to the tower takes the better part of a day. The path is surprisingly easy between the map you recovered in Tcian Sumere and some innate sense of direction you gained from your experiences in the past. However when you arrive at the spot the tower should be you find nothing but the same white sand drifting in the gentle breeze of Pelion. The tower has succumbed to the ravages of time, but you are certain in your heart that this is the correct place.

He takes out a chakram and throws it straight up as hard as he can.

Seemingly tired out from the brief serious soliloquy, Baraxx cracks a toothy grin and finishes, ”But you are right, I’m a blunt instrument. Point me at what you need broken and I’m there for ya.”

"If my shamblers ever catch up, I can ask them to push around enough dust to get up there."

Nik scratches his cheek and looks around.
"If we wait around a day, I can prepare spells to get us all up there."

Then he cocks his head and looks at Rinika and Baraxx. Then he looks from Savi to Lunk to Jek.
"Huh. Actually- Rinika and Baraxx can already fly, I can make Jek fly, Lunk and Savi can ride on Jek, and I can just levitate myself up." Nik nods to himself.

"We might want to prep something special for that snake, though- if it's still there..."
Nik scratches his cheek, lost in thought, as he tries to think of ways to kill a huge snake in a huge maelstrom.

Jek can lift anything except a giant brass plug.

You fly to the spot above you where your counterparts reached at times unknown and you disappear. You reappear in the same chamber that hangs over the malevolent pool which at one point a brass plug blocked the way. It has since disappeared entirely, not even 150 feet below you. You hear the sound of the maelstrom with winds that scour flesh still raging farther in.

Nik leans to the side, still on top of Jek.
"Alright, if that snake is still there, I'm going to try and possess it. Don't drop me? If I do go limp, please don't step through the doorway until I give you a slap on the- flank or- arm or- something. Can't have my body go through without my mind..."

Nik pauses a moment "I- we could try to kill the worm too, I guess. It'd suck for me, of course... better stick with having it curl in the farthest corner of the chamber after chucking everyone but Jek through the portal."

Then he sits bolt upright.

"Wait."

"What if the worm can fit in the portal? Oh boy. Maybe we can bring it with us for a few hours." Nik smiles mischievously.

"Stupid elf army and whatever else wouldn't stand a chance." he explains.

"Now suddenly I'm hoping the snake is still there and isn't too hard to possess. If there isn't any snake... maybe we just let you fly us in, Jek? Though... that wind might be too hard to fly in..."

Nik pulls out his metamagic rod and casts Mirror Image, creating 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7 more Niks, while he tries to think of something else that might help them get through the portal and through the other side more safely.

It'd only be your fly skill +4 (spell) +4 (good maneuverability) though...

Nik comically scrambles from a riding position to a holding-on-to-a-hindleg-for-dear-life position to avoid being scraped off accidentally.
He climbs back up after Jek is safely through.

Down the long shaft you see it still contains the foul pool of water. A few of the statues lie broken and the silver door hangs open. Your combined masses prevent you from being sucked into the hurricane immediately though the winds are tugging on you.

Through the door you see the body of the Wraithworm, still coiled around the rock column and its head bobbing in the wind, something has come along and killed the creature. Recently enough that it has not fallen to decay.

If the wind no longer affects him, he’ll use his whispering gloves to offer this magic to Nik and Rinika.
