Sweet!

Hello and thanks for picking Helios!
Anything we need to know? Like, rookies get to pay a round, or something?
Rinika
Welcome aboard!

Nothing personal when Rinika takes an immediate disliking to Helios, he just hurts her eyes :p
Nikrir Leldro
lol, yeah xD
Also, welcome!
Also, our Fated teammate will have some fun bickering with our new Ringgiver teammate, I'm sure ^^
Glad Nik doesn't have to worry about being assassinated by that one alchemist guy...

I think Fated and Ring givers can work out well together! Their philosophies ARE diametrically opposed, but it can be symbiotic in a weird way-- Fated can see Ring givers are "marks" more than foes and just keep taking from them, while the Givers are happy to keep giving. . .

I have some links at the top.
The biggest thing is the treasure tracker. When Jek can tear himself away from his busy life he will add some personal pages for you. When you guys collect loot I will generally add it to the party page, from there my involvement in tracking the minutia of the party's treasure will stop. When you claim a magic item or treasure you will take it off the party page and add it to your own personal page.
I use the treasure tracker to gauge if anyone is grossly falling behind or ahead in their expected wealth by level from the party reports page. Right now everyone is a little ahead.
Next is the maps, I use google slides to do our maps as is the frequent custom. Its a little janky but does its job well enough.
Third is the NPCs and other fluff. This link is a separate google slides where I keep some brief notes on some of the NPCs and images I'm supposed to show you for the current adventure book. There are also some screen captures from the Planescape material, diagrams of the cosmology of the multiverse for reference, advertisements you could have seen in Sigil, etc.
Finally there is a perma-link to the discord channel I keep for my two games. Should Paizo's website go down discord is how I plan on communicating with you. If Paizo goes down for an extended period of time like it did a few years ago we will move to discord.

Conor is not super into being Fated or any philosophical battles the various factions get into, it's just a thing for a former paladin turned mercenary to do.
They were paying, he needed to be paid.
(Out of character, he really needed to free Perception to shore up his skillset :))
Rinika
Someone forgot her Ray Ban sunglasses? :P
Y'know she did actually get some glasses a long long time ago but she lost them.
On the plane of fire.
That was a really sucky place to lose those.
This'll be a cakewalk by comparison, but she'll still complain about it.
Nikrir Leldro
lol, oh yeah, all of everyone's stuff got stolen right before Nik joined, didn't it? xD

Yep.
Vaascht still owes that wizard jerkface a yard of greensteel in his guts.
Wonder if he ever got his revenge?

If video games have taught me anything it's that there's a chest with all of our loot around here somewhere...

Yup, its currently being carried by a zombie that some Dustman forgot to give new orders to.
Nikrir Leldro
lol, now that I think about it, Nik should've realized everyone's stuff was stolen.
And probably by dustmen xD
Hmmm....
Conor the Wanderer
Someone had at least some of it, because Rinika was able to get Vaascht's spellbook, I vaguely recall the culprits claiming they hawked the rest but a few items.

Rinika was able to get her awesome parasol back at least.

Welcome Auntie and Helios!
The Treasure Tracking sheet edits should be good to go. Auntie and Helios now have their own tabs. All of their equipment has been imported (please review it just in case). Each player has two main areas to interact with: their jink pouch and their inventory.
Jink is money. Enter the number of each kind of coin you're carrying in the jink pouch. Coin weight is a thing, so that's also calculated (Helios, you may wish to convert your 32.8 lbs of gold to platinum).
The inventory lines list everything you're carrying. For the numbers to multiply through correctly, enter the value and weight for each unit (for example: the cost and weight per arrow).
Each player's weight and wealth information summarizes up top. Some of that information is then displayed on the reports tab for the entire party.
The party loot tab acts just like another player except that all of the stuff still needs to be carried by someone. Also, it has some categories to make it easier to look through.
Anywho, enjoy!

Ring-Giver trait: A Bargainer gains a +1 to +4 trait bonus to bluff, diplomacy, intimidate, and sense motive checks vs any creature that has accepted a gift from the Bargainer. The exact value of the bonus depends on how much the creature values the gift as determined by the DM.
A Ring-Giver may attempt to request a favor from a non-hostile NPC no more than twice their character level. The DM determines the success based on how much the Bargainer has given away compared to how much they've received. I have a karma system in mind but it will be obscured from Auntie and the other PCs.
A Beggar never owns anything, they can never sell or buy anything. If a Beggar buys or sells an item they loose access to this trait's ability. They may seek an atonement spell from another Beggar to regain access.

Would it stretch credibility that Tethys would have sent Helios after the party? Perhaps she just doesn't quite trust Conor.
Conor the Wanderer
Sure, but did Tethys send us our here to begin with? Thought that was a message from what's his name from the Crux.
He could have sent backup though.
DM_Delmoth
Veridis requested you come help. Presumably you let your factions know when you're going out-of-town so she could know where you were headed.
Nikrir Leldro
maybe some sort of status magic that let Tethys know that Conor has been CON DRAINEDD!?!?!?!?
I know I'd send in the cavalry if someone was losing con in such a mostly-permanent way o.o;
Helios, Sol Invictus
Helios is actively searching for a group, and Tethys directed him towards you among others, so eventually the mountain is going to meet Muhammad or the other way round.
Nikrir Leldro
Is that a saying? Now I have to look it up xD
edit: Apparently the probably-original quote probably translates to (roughly) "If the mountain will not come to Mohammad, then Mohammad will go to the mountain"
I'll have to ask my friend who might know xD
Helios, Sol Invictus
Yep, we use that saying in my country. Thought it was a widespread one. But you know what I mean.
Nikrir Leldro
I think it's pretty widespread. In the same place I found out about it, I found out that it's been in English form since at least Sir Francis Bacon, so several hundred years.
I simply hadn't heard it yet xD
Nikrir Leldro
LOL, I had forgotten about the temporary tattoos xD
Auntie Glimmerhoof
I'm working out the accent I want for Glimmerhoof, so if I switch things up as I get rolling here, I'm trying to go for some kind of back woodsy, possibly cajun style accent.
And Conor- I can cast Restoration, but I didn't think ahead enough to have packed spell components for it-- you need it for a negative level?

4 Con drain! Slightly cheaper.
We need to get one of those satchel things.
Conor the Wanderer
Yeah, got me a little CON drain issue.
Conor the Wanderer
For Conor, I've been going no accent in the field and playing up the Sigil slang when get gets in town. Known a few folks who only let their natural thick accents show when they are in their home state/town.
Heck, the further north I go, the more Yooper I tend to talk, IRL
Auntie Glimmerhoof
If it's con drain then we only need 100g of diamond dust. . . it's been a while since I played a caster very far and I totally forgot about expensive componants.
Conor the Wanderer
Yeah, much better than the 1000.
Nikrir Leldro
Nik still has the 700gp of diamond dust from the fire castle place o' doom. He also carries other gems...
for things...
:D
Auntie Glimmerhoof
I actually have a work around for myself existing on the Negative Plane with a day's prep, but I am not sure I have anything for an entire party.
Rinika
I'm not sure if my understanding of the negative energy plane is correct, but I think if Rinika just stabs herself every now and then to relieve some of the overflow pressure, she should be fine too.
edit - Yeah breathing will be an issue. But she'll be able to see.
Jek Tal'dor
Jek has the Negative Token which can cast death ward on one person, but he also needs air.
Side note, the entrance portal is a wonderfully fun place for a lich to put a permanencied antimagic field.
Conor the Wanderer
Seems like the kind of place Conor will die in quickly.
Nikrir Leldro
I don't think this prison place is the negative energy plane, though...
I think we'll need to go there later xD
Also, apparently, Mass Planar Adaptation is a 6th level Cleric spell. So now that we have a Cleric, we can wait until 11th level instead of 13th xD
DM_Delmoth
The messenger specifically stated that Tcian Sumere is at the Bottom, aka Negative Energy Plane. Also you now have a shaman not a cleric, planar adaptation is not normally on the shaman list.
Nikrir Leldro
LOLCRAP
Time to find a macguffin to get in there without dying! xD
edit: Air Bubble would buy us a few minutes of air... but this will probably take more than a few minutes, won't it? XD
Maybe I should just get a 7th level scroll (Mass Planar Adaptation is a 7th level wizard spell...)
edit2: how about we head to Sigil for a Bottle of Air? We might want two so we don't have to pass it around as much xD

So just the fact of surviving in the Negative Plane seems the target of an adventure on its own, right?
Jek Tal'dor

Is there an item that gives undead anatomy while worn? I'm having trouble finding one. On the off chance that it's not so bad in there, Nik could cast it and scout the portal. Worst case scenario he dies in there and becomes undead, but I'm pretty sure that's his goal...
Jek Tal'dor
2 people marked this as a favorite.
We could modify the sealed barrel to have two leg holes and a window...
Auntie Glimmerhoof
I can get Mass Planar Adaptation onto my list through my wandering spirit with Arcane Enlightenment hex, but still levels away from 6th level spells.
Also- none of the transmutation (polymorph) spells call out if they give you the ability to not breathe in the text- not ooze shape, elemental body. Plant shape, or undead anatomy, so it's unclear if a spell of that route works.
I can make bottle of air if we have time. . . Could also make potions of air bubble? But I think we'd need to drink a TON of those to last very long.
Helios, Sol Invictus

Well, is not hard to find out the price of a constant effect item, just by taking another one (like Cloak of Invisibility) and checking which level spell we need. Crafting it is another thing, though. But it might be a necessary thing if our future plans involve a lot of traveling to the Negative Plane.
For now, we might have to make do with a scroll and risking a CL check to cast it. Maybe two scrolls. Helios still has about 1600 gp left.
Rinika
Concealed Breath would give us a few hours, or give one of us a long time, but being unable to speak or cast while using it is pretty killer.
Helios, Sol Invictus
Concealed Breath would help us with the breathing thing, but won't solve the 2d6 negative energy damage per round problem, sadly.
