Anyone have thoughts on our next course of action? To Rory, remaining time-critical locations are the shipwreck (survivors?) and the ambush site (evidence). Also, many of these locations are on or near the waterways—securing transport by water could get us places relatively quickly and would give Tizgah an important party role (that might also keep her relatively safe if she needs to guard the boat?)...I would even call her “captain” if the boat is big enough.
Yolar Sundigr |
Assuming we sell most of the stuff on rows 51 to 58 of the loot sheet...we each get 48.2 gp. The only one I wasn't sure about were the 12 MW arrows. Does anyone want them or should we sell them?
Rory of the Tiger Eye Monastary |
Works for me. Thanks for doing the loot, Yolar.
Is that a consensus for going to the shipwreck next? Do we need to look for eyewitnesses around town who saw where it ran aground?
GM Itzi |
Usually I don't correct player's notes, but in a PbP game it can cause significant delays with the longer turnaround time in communication.
On the current notes regarding Hamsa Gadd; Hamsa had reported that her expedition into the jungle had been waylaid by Song'o and she was the sole survivor.
According to Zaahku, a tall-folk expedition was decimated by Mireborn lizardfolk with a woman in green and orange escaping.
The expedition wasn't at the fort and the location of the event is marked on your map.

No posts in 2 days in Gameplay...Is everything alright?
GM Itzi |
Yeah I survived our yearly torture camping trip. I know many people really enjoy that activity - I am not one of them. And four days with no connectivity whatsoever? Bleah!!!
I'd posted a notice to that effect Monday, but I probably should have mentioned it again Thursday right before we left. Sorry about that.
Rory of the Tiger Eye Monastary |
Perhaps we should consider purchasing a Ship’s Boat, especially if we want to travel to the coastal/riverside adventure sites via the waterways...
Yolar Sundigr |
I'll attempt to do more prompting in the future when we're waiting on someone.
Although six days between announcing 'everyone is up' and botting someone doesn't seem to me to be overly rushing it. :)
I'm missing where you said "everyone is up". I took an action in round 1 (casting spiritual weapon), but I didn't see a post that said we were in round 2.

Botting Ashlion ...
Rory calls down Irori's Blessing on everyone and then Ashlion draws his greataxe and goes charging across the sand. Bavick waits for more information from Yolar who seems not to have any knowledge of the undead you're facing. The cleric's summoned trident pierces one of the figures who looks down at it uncomprehendingly.
Heedless of the divine weapon, the bloated figures move forward across the sand towards you all.
Bavick, you can still take an action this round and then everyone will be able to take one for the next.
Maybe not 100% clear that GM was calling for everyone to act, but these things happen. I really appreciate the attention to detail and the interesting storyline so far. Everyone having fun?
Rory of the Tiger Eye Monastary |
I suggest that, tomorrow morning, we buy a ship's boat for 500 gp and have Tizgah help us get places.
- Sail east and visit the Ambushed Camp to look for clues to prove the Song'o innocence and figure out what really happened with Hamsa Gadd's expedition. Sail back to Pridon's Hearth and let the Sheriff know what is going on.
-Sail west and follow the coast to the Ghol-Gan ruins, checking that out.
- Double back to the east and follow the river up to the Ruined Village (if the river is big enough for the boat). Then sail off to investigate the Tar Pit and check that out.
- If the river is too small for the boat to the ruined village, go to the Tar Pit first, then tie off the boat somewhere secure and hoof it overland to the Ruined Village.

Sorry if I wasn't clear about the end of the round and the beginning of the next.
In answer to Rory's question; I'm certainly having fun. ;)
After this game (which we're about half-way through), I'm considering a full adventure path. I just have to decide which one. Any suggestions?
I've already run RotRL, Second Darkness, and Carrion Crown in FtF games and Jade Regent is up next for that venue so I don't wish to duplicate any of those in a forum game.
I won't discourage the purchase of a ship's boat, but the weather has been growing worse and very well may continue to do so. No promises on how much longer you would be able to use it safely. Just soes ya knows. ;)
Tygrah, Battle Bride |
Crimson Throne is always a good one. I haven't played through the hardcover version of that AP yet. My vote would be that or Reign of Winter.
Unless you'd be willing to run the 2nd edition AP, Age of Ashes, when it comes out. ;)
GM Itzi |
I'm really torn about 2nd Edition. The playtest rules really didn't set a fire under me to switch over. I have no doubt I'll pick up a copy. I've got a copy of every edition of the D&D ruleset (including the abomination of the edition that we don't speak of) so I'll continue the trend with Pathfinder.
Are you looking to play in Age of Ashes, Tygrah?
Crimson Throne is high up on my list. It's one of my favorites, but my FtF group is not a big fan of the gritty, urban feel that AP seems to exude.
I'll have to look again at Giantslayer.
I still hold out hope to get my halfling gunslinger into an Iron Gods game some day. :)
Ashlion of Vudra |
I'm not into 2nd. The new world building looks fun, but I've no love for the mechanics. If anyone can change my mind on the its probably Tygrah, but I'm really not sure right now...
I'm also under personal ban on Crimson Throne - my wife is going to run it for me one day so I can't play it online. Therefore I vote against that, although I'll understand if people do want it.
I've played/am playing: RoWx2, WotRx2, RotRL, HRx2, KM, MM, RoAx2, TG, WftCx2, Ser Skull, CoT, SA, and a few other homebrews. (You know about most of them.)
I've not played Skulls and Shackles, Iron Gods, Giantslayer or Shattered Star. Not interested in Legacy of Fire. From what I hear GS and SS are both potentially interesting, but I hear they have a lot of slog - still I love the idea of a Paladin with a hammer smacking giants... :D
If that's too limiting then don't feel like you have to accommodate me - I know I narrow the pool a lot.
Tygrah, Battle Bride |
I'm not sure if I want to play in it or run it, but I definitely would like to be involved in a game of it. I've run or played in every other AP already, at least partially and some multiple times.
Rory of the Tiger Eye Monastary |
I have done Rise of the Runelords and Wrath of the Righteous face to face. Played some of Emerald Spire, Skull and Shackles, and Iron Gods, but I am open to most things...

Thanks. I reread my comment and I'm sorry if I came across as rude. That wasn't my intention.

Yolar, can you update the items & coin from the shipwreck and the Count's reward?
GM Itzi, Rory may want to see what items he can find for their journey before they leave in the morning. Depending on how much money he has, he might be interested in some magic items (wands, scrolls, maybe some magic storage).
Yolar Sundigr |
I just updated the loot sheet. Selling the non-magical stuff gives each of us 834.4 gp.
Regarding the other items:
4 potions of CLW
* Yolar has lots of healing, so 1 to everyone else?
+1 composite bow [+2 str]
* Did we decide if anyone could use this?
+1 heavy shield
* Yolar can use this, but can any of the frontliners use this too?
Rory of the Tiger Eye Monastary |
Thanks, Yolar. Rory will take his share of the gold and a CLW potion.

GM Itzi wrote:Wow, has Rory made a single Perception roll this game? What fun is it to always have a character good at Perception? It has made for some interesting character development...
I'm hep to that.
One of my favorite characters is an 8th level oracle and she has a Perception of +2 (+0 in some cases).
Ashlion of Vudra |
Ash has the bow right now - its a massive upgrade on his axes and he has the strength for it. If we want to sell it he won't object though. Neither of us want the shield I think, I'm 2H and Tygrah's 2 weapon so a shield is actually bad for us.
Oh Nime... luckily Shen has perception for both of them (+21 at level 8...)
Rory of the Tiger Eye Monastary |
@Ashlion, go for the magic axe if you can afford it. Rory might even kick in a hundred gold to help, as he like to keep his meat shie,,,,I mean front line adventuring companions well-equipped.
If you are worried about magic weapon distribution, perhaps switch bows with Tygrah...
Tygrah, Battle Bride |
I'll get the magic axe for Ashlion. Short on time today but I will get a post up tomorrow morning.
Tygrah, Battle Bride |
Works for me.
Rory of the Tiger Eye Monastary |
Yay! Shiny axe!
Tygrah, do you want the longbow? I'm happy to hand it over and just CHARGE everything :D
And if there are nasty beasts flying around out of the reach of your blade, Rory can help with that...at least once.
...where to next?
Tygrah, Battle Bride |
Stormkindlers works for me.
Rory of the Tiger Eye Monastary |
Perhaps the back-posting to shopping experiences makes it unclear, but we are currently in the Ruined Village and have not found enough clues to get the location of the Storm Kindler’s Temple.
Nearby are the Tar Pits, where there were rumors of Mireborn presence, but it may take us the rest of the day to get there. We could head back to Cashill, and then to the ambush site the next day. We could go pretty far west to the other ruins. Or, we could change tactics and search hex by hex for unknown sites of interest.
Rory has already stated his preference.
Tygrah, Battle Bride |
Ah, my bad. Tar pits are good for me.
Bavick Whiteriver |
Let's head to the Tar Pits.
Yolar can prepare Comprehend Languages in the morning to translate the Kelish writing.
I wouldn't mind going to Cahsil and then the ambush site either.
I don't think we have any particular reason to check out the Gol-Ghan ruin other than curiosity.
