And then you let some group of noob chicks called "Tower Girls" knock you down to the ground and let all the girls do the real work!
Love ya Drask! <3

That doesn't sound like a threat, that sounds like something that comes with balloons.

If you both wear a single boot maybe Dak while let you both you have a +1 ? And you can MATCH!
Esrisi Derexhi

Ez slips the boots on first.
"Veltariel can takes these boots off my cold. Dead. Body."
| Veltariel Mendrasti |
Veltariel wipes the blood off her dagger before lacing up her boots. ”Anyone else wanna discuss the loot further?”

Just a quick note I am posting to all my games. It is Spring Break week so I get the week off. As such, I won't be around the PC as often as I am usually. Posting may be slowed a bit, but will do my best to get in at least one post a day.

Have a great spring break, GM Dak!
I did consider war priest, but passed since I forgot they got weapon focus. Paladin would be lovely if there was a non charisma based version :)
Well, if you're just taking a single level, Chosen One Paladin isn't Charisma-based. You essentially trade smite evil for a familiar. And you get to cast Paladin spells from wands* or scrolls if that ever comes up. Stonelord Paladin also ins't Charisma-based (it's designed for dwarves who really should be making Paladins from a lore perspective).
Warpriest is also solid and the Charm blessing kind of goes with your character theme.
*Edit* - I actually don't know if Sapher could use Paladin wands now that I think about it, if her charisma is below 10.

What’s with all the charisma hate?!

Do you mind if we fast forward to the morning or spoiler the morning if the slaver run didn’t reveal anything? Not sure if that bit was done yet or not? Prior to meeting with Sheila, we can RP among ourselves before the meet and greet?
| Sapher Mornshire |
Very good suggestions Caroliss. Thank you. I personally think that would be lovely Esrisi. The beginning discussion can be funeral arrangements for poor short drab Sapher. She'd like to be cremated... wait what are dwarf burials like...
| Sapher Mornshire |
Nevermind, she has to be sent back to the Mountain.
Esrisi Derexhi

Look the bright side!
When you reroll, you get to be human and engage with Veltariel!!!
| Veltariel Mendrasti |
*sigh*
Looks like Elven Rescue Team in the morning.
Plus Esrisi.
| Sapher Mornshire |
Sapher had a +9 to her will save. +9!!! and she rolled a 1. Dice hate dwarves.
Yes please come save her...
Esrisi Derexhi
|
You know, I think there have been a fair amount of 1's rolled so far. I can't wait to see what the future holds (for those of us that are alive that is).
Esrisi Derexhi
|
Right? Looks like you should have used that Feat on something else Sapher.
Esrisi Derexhi
|
Esrisi looks down at the book in her lap and says "And while the sleepy less-willed but colorful dwarf dozed on the floor, the evil slaver said 'That is why the light is there to draw you in to investigate it' just before the wizard-like hero messed with his mind, ruining his spell."
She puts her finger in the book to save her place. Looking over at Caroliss she wiggles her bottom on the sofa and bounces up and down as says excitedly, "Ohhhh, I love this part! Isn't this where the brute grunts loudly and makes the inferior mage wish he had just stayed invisible as he bravely serves justice and fights for slaves across Golarion, right?"

Do we have enough money for a masterwork cestus yet? It’ll pair nicely with the longspear that mokhasi will buy. Peaceful Mokhasi will have to become more violent, it appears.
| Drask Umbra |
I'm considering a non-heavy armor wearing barbarian as my dip. Getting fast movement and picking up mithril armor would help me move a lot quicker, especially since I have to split movespeed with my shadows. Thoughts?
| Veltariel Mendrasti |
Veltariel continues sleeping.
Lol
I’m a huge fan of movement and maneuverability.
| Drask Umbra |
Perhaps a mad dog barbarian, grab an animal companion. Would either use it as basically a familiar since it would only have 1 hit die, or I could take boon companion and it would be relevant at low levels until we started getting closer to 10.
Mokhasi Kpu'unde
|
Well, you’d want something for the long haul, is there anything that scales well with a dip? I think rage scales pretty well forever, and if you’d only do barbarian 1, you’d miss out on that.
Mokhasi Kpu'unde
|
Bloodrager might be worth a look too, for a dip. You’d still get fast movement and rage, and wand access and could get one pseudo rage power as well. Your only give up one hp.
Esrisi Derexhi
|
I also was thinking bloodrager. The Bloody-Knuckled Rowdy archetype came to mind. Drops some of the caster stuff for unarmed strike (which apparently is my new favorite feat).
Mokhasi Kpu'unde
|
Aye, but they give up fast movement, which Drask wants so he can split it with his shadow. They don’t get unarmed strike damage until 3, so all he’d get would be ius and rage.
Esrisi Derexhi
|
Recollection is not a strong suit of Esrisi's and she promptly goes back to reading her story of slaving the slavers.
| Drask Umbra |
I think mad dog will be the best maybe. Any ideas for a companion that could be useful at level 1? Perhaps something like a dire bat that has flight and blindness.
| Veltariel Mendrasti |
I’d go with whatever meshes your personality best.
Mokhasi Kpu'unde
|
Maybe, special powers are hard to adjudicate on companions though. Especially if there’s no reliable way to communicate with them and they never get intelligence 3. You’d be hard pressed to “push” it to identify invisible foes. RAW a companion is of limited value if it never scales.
A bat familiar on the other hand, gives a lot of information, because if you get it tied to your character level you can speak with it.
If you want the companion, you could take the animal companion feat chain and get one that scaled, as an alternative to mad dog.
Edit: but choose whatever is most fun for you!
Esrisi Derexhi
|
Dak if you are cool with it, I'm going to swap a profession skill for a Perform: Sing in level two (since we technically haven't leveled yet).
Ez is going to start showing off her pipes.
| Sapher Mornshire |
On the same note, would it be possible to shift Sapher's alignment to LG, to have paladin as an option in the future. To get her martial and armor possibilities, probably nothing past that. I don't think Sapher has done anything Bad yet.
| Sapher Mornshire |
Okay, reading about Choosen One Paladin (Thanks you Caroliss), and have a question. The familiar can cast guidance at will, so if the little guy was in your satchel, couldn't it just cast guidance on you every round of combat?
| Veltariel Mendrasti |
So...Cassisian Angel, wear it as a helmet...guidance galore!
| Caroliss Kaddren |
I think mad dog will be the best maybe. Any ideas for a companion that could be useful at level 1? Perhaps something like a dire bat that has flight and blindness.
Mad Dog barbarians give up rage (until 4th level), so it depends on whether you're willing to make that trade. If so, definitely something that can scout would be perfect. If you want to keep rage, I'm a fan of dipping straight Unchained Barbarian because I hate Sudden Barbarian Death Syndrome. But your mileage may vary--regular rage has additional benefits as long as you don't fall unconscious.
If you don't care about rage, an off-beat option is a cleric or inquisitor with the Travel domain for the +10 feet movement bonus (admittedly at the cost of a BAB). The Mendevian Priest archetype will net you Heavy Armor Proficiency at the cost of a domain if you still want that. Cayden Cailean is a good deity in my mind that might inspire Drask to be more than a hired protector of Esrisi. But I am sure there are many more deities that could fit Drask if this idea interests you.
| Drask Umbra |
Oh I didn't read far enough down the archetype. That sucks.
No Drask isn't the type to focus on a single god.
Yeah perhaps unchained may be better since it takes rage powers or feats to avoid the sudden death problem normally.
Mokhasi Kpu'unde
|
Aye, that’s the big drawback. You could always get nature soul/animal ally/beast bond if you want one though. And it’ll scale with your character level.
Alternatively, you can take iron will and familiar bond.
Lastly, if you take the minor and major rogue talents, you can take familiar as an advanced talent (I think you can do all as a slayer)
Esrisi Derexhi
|
Hey Sapher, you have Iron Will, right? How’s that working out for you? :)
| Drask Umbra |
| 1 person marked this as a favorite. |
Honestly the more that I think about it, the more I don't think that Drask would want some sort of animal bond. The only way he would be interested is if he thought his brother was somehow reincarnated into the creature.
The more I think about it I think I'll just so strait unchained barbarian.
