Well there goes Inthras of the list. Kwenlyn is still *possibly* out there. Yowzers. This group got mauled quickly. On the bright side, there was only 4 of them and there's 6 of us.

I'm looking to hide in a spot to get close to the creature as it obviously will see and focus on my shieldmate there. I'll smash it's legs when I can.

    When he hears the noise, he quickly takes to the air (fly activated) and climbs to about 10’ up to see what he can, though he expects the canopy is largely in the way.

    As no one seems to be speaking up with any good ideas, Vanyan will at least ask if the party can bury or burn the body as to not allow it to be taken for ill intent.

    The crashing gets closer and closer as suddenly a gargantuan horned creature plows through the jungle,easily tramping trees in its path as it stampedes past.

    Looking back you spot a pair of humanoid fey in quick pursuit. They quickly stop as the pair notice you, landing atop branches above with bows in hand. "Well, this is far more interesting Fwingolas."

    "I agree Bhaihanial, but it seems they have robbed us of our hunt.."

    "But, look at them, they are so young. Just born to this world."

    ”Oh hai,” Vanyan opens up to the fey, while flying a bit higher (out of reach of any beasts) and takes a gander at the fey.

    What kind of fey are they? Are they known to be evilly mischievous?

    These lithe, androgynous humanoids have pointed ears, glowing green eyes, and six fingers on each slender hand. They are what is known as the Wild Hunt Fey.

    "Ah. Oh." Aishe mutters, uneasy around the chaotic and capricious fey. He keeps his crossbow handy, but doesn't aim it at anyone. At least not yet.

    He lets the social folk do the speaking and watches in relative silence.

    "We were hunting a great beast called a Barometz." They quickly introduce themselves as they sit down on the branch.

    "Before Keirodera This new jungle., existence was darkness. Reality formed in a flash of light The Radiant Blast as the sun gave its life to create the world, sinking to the horizon. From these rays formed all of the beasts and fey, and plants emerged to reach toward the sun. But the sun was nearly dead, leaving the plants bitter and hungry, and from this hatred arose the monstrous blight. We fey banded together to hunt the realm’s beasts, from their prey’s bodies making arrows to reignite the sun and begin a new age. Fired into the air, these arrows would rekindle the sun to rise and live for another age. The plants fed on the rising sun, draining its power yet sustaining the beasts so that the cycle could continue anew. The world is in its 23rd age." (that is, in its 23rd day).

    "The world beyond Keirodera is cursed and sustains little, and Death and its entourage (that is, the Whispering Tyrant) strode through Keirodera during the Third Age 3rd day. to reign from the Dead Throne (that is Hammer Rock) at the center of Keirodera. So long as the cycle continues unbroken, though, Death shall never emerge again, and all life shall flourish. In this way, the hunt is sacred and needs to continue, though you scared the beast away."

    The fey give it quite a bit of thought and without any maliciousness in their voice they come to a reasonable conclusion. "Well, I suppose since you ruined our last hunt then you can help us with a new hunt." Bhaihanial states. "Perhaps we may negotiate some terms for the new hunt Fwingolas."

    "Indeed, How about this. They receive a fair head start, measured by the time it takes us to sing a lovely song. We will allow you a rough sense of the course that leads into the center of Keirodera." Bhaihanial interrupts. "Breaking from the course shall be considered bad form."

    "Of course, flying and teleportation of any kind is prohibited. Everyone must burrow, climb, swim, or run.Participants may use deadly force to fend off the other. At the inside edge stands three stones. If all of you touch these stones then the hunt will be over!"

    Bhaihanial looks on eagerly. "Do these rules suffice?"

    Aishe, currently flying, slowly drops down to the ground. "Ayep." he shrugs figuring this is the best they could really hope for.

    After all, he can ensure they leave no trace as they move - and he can do it at speed. Still, the fey are quick, and once they catch the group, we'll be swarmed no doubt.

    He checks his quivers to ensure a good supply. It might be a long battle...

    He's ready.

    "What? No, I don't agree to this. I'm not walking using my legs. Not a chance. I've done that for long enough. And why don't you answer the question...are you working with the Tyrant?" Vanyan seems to be getting agitated, and closer to burning some fey using Fire Seeds. "If they think we ruined their hunt, then maybe you aren't very good hunters, and are looking to blame others. Sheesh."

    Vanyan casts Fire Seeds in preparation for the hunt, where lethal force is encouraged.

    Atium was going to sneak back down and then become visible, but upon hearing Vanyan he stays where he's at. Seems like the the battle is happening now and not with them being the hunted.

    You can certainly negotiate the terms with a Diplomacy, Perform
    (oratory), or Perform (comedy) check or a Bluff check.

    The fey seem momentarily confused. “If necessary, we will call in those who can enforce the terms.” They nod out into the forest to which you are unsure of the extent of their forces between you and your goal.

    "It seems as if we have little choice. Stop acting like a petulant child." He says to Vanyan before turning back to the Fey.

    "Fine, we will participate in your hunt, but the terms are not acceptable. Our.... Associate here, " He indicates Vanyan. "Is weak and cannot walk. We will require the use of flight for the hunt? Agreed?"

    As soon as the Fey appear to agree, Atium sneaks back down to the ground area in order to "pop" into view/vision and lighten his load to allow for greater land speed. He also offers to hold stuff for others to be lighter/quicker too.

    The fey seem to shiver as you keep mentioning Death. "He arrived shortly after the world began, and the forest’s creatures all quieted and fled at his approach. Following him were fleshless soldiers, rotting people, and myriad other walking dead. We were afraid and did not hunt them."

    They converse quietly at at the negotiation of flight. "That should be fine, though no higher than the treetops. Anything else before we begin?"

    "Surely that lead you gave them was far too easy for such great hunters as yourself. I think you should sing your song TWICE before you depart and hunt us down."

    ”I wasn’t being petulant. This is ridiculous,” Vanyan snuffles non-petulantly as he petulantly crosses his arms over the other way in a totally non-petulant manner. ”At least we know that they are not working for team undeath. That’s helpful, and makes this only mildly less silly.”

    When the fey leave, or after the party gets moving a bit so the fey can’t overhear, Aishe speaks.

    ”I can’t hide our tracks here in the thick of things, but if we can make it to a more urban setting, or underground, I can hide our passage completely. So I’ll do what I can to hide our passage normally, though it’s not as good. So get going, and I’ll see what I can do in your wake to confuse our pursuers.”

    Aishe seems out of breath after so long a speech. Still flying, but staying below the tree line (move 70’) Aishe does what he can to hide the tracks of his companions. He’ll do so until his spell runs out (probably 4 or 5 minutes) moving at half speed (which is still 70’/round vs the 60’/round most everyone else is moving).

    Obscuring Tracks rules from the Heroes of the Wild if you want to use it.:
    You can use Survival to make your tracks more difficult to follow. A successful DC 15 Survival check increases the DC of following your tracks by 4. You can move at only half speed while obscuring your tracks unless you increase the Survival check DC to do so by 5. If you’re traveling in a group, for every creature beyond yourself whose tracks you wish to obscure, increase the DC by an additional 1. Large creatures count as two creatures for this purpose, and Huge creatures count as four. You cannot conceal the tracks of groups traveling with Gargantuan or larger creatures.

    When the flight wears off, he’ll continue to hide the parties tracks, though now he’s moving at full speed so he suffers a 5 DC penalty.

    Happy to do opposed rolls if you prefer. Also, I get a +5 to my survival when tracking, but I assumed it did not apply here. If it does, please add.

    The fey look you over. "Double the headstart seems fair enough." The fey begin to lay out the course for you. It seems to run for 7 miles, traversing several challenging areas.

    This acts as sort of a chase. The map layout are in the slides. With your double extra lead time you begin with 6 Pursuit points. (If this ever reaches 0 then you are caught.)

    Each challenge will have a Primary Check, Secondary check and possibly Bypass method. You lose two pursuit points if someone in the group fails or don't attempt primary checks. (5 points if fail both primary checks if there are 2 checks). You gain one pursuit points for passing secondary checks (2 if pass both secondary checks if there are multiple.)

    "When you are ready!" The fey don't seem to wait and begin singing. Looking around you find yourselves surrounded by the forest. These trees form a trackless expanse with relatively few obstacles, allowing those with enough endurance to gain ground rapidly.

    So we each have to roll all these checks? Sounds like we're going to get a lot of failures to me... but we'll see how it plays out. :)

    Aishe sizes up the area and moves forward carefully.

    Why do we all need to make perception and survival checks? Are we not together? Can we aid? Like Aishe, not sure about the rules.

    Vanyan flies along, easily pointing out the same path that Aishe clearly sees. "Yeah, we *should* go that way, Aishe." Vanyan stays flying, not even using his own legs like a chump to move.

    Aishe spots a decent trail and the group takes off at a run to try and get as much distance between you and the fey as possible as the group mostly fends off the thick swathes of mosquitoes in the air. Primary passed so no loss of points and +1 Pursuit point for at least one PC passing the Secondary check.

    The forest’s meandering creeks empty into a broad, deep pond with murky water and steep, muddy banks.

    Secondary Checks: (Acrobatics, Perception)
    Bypass: Spells and abilities that avoid water altogether
