Swords Secret (Ex): A lore warden learns specialized techniques that help her to quickly analyze and defeat her foes. At 3rd level, a lore warden gains one swords secret, and she gains an additional swords secret for every 4 fighter levels gained after 3rd. Except where noted, a lore warden cannot select the same swords secret more than once. This replaces armor training and armor mastery.

Know Thy Enemy (Ex): When the lore warden succeeds at a Knowledge check to identify a creature’s abilities and weaknesses, she can also use a standard action to grant herself a +2 insight bonus on all attack and weapon damage rolls made against that enemy. This bonus lasts for a number of rounds equal to half her class level (minimum 2 rounds), or until the lore warden uses this ability against a different creature.

I'm torn between Iron Will (to bolster Elká's horrible will save), Greater Fortitude because a bigger fort save is always good, Power Attack and Toughness. Out of those four, Toughness feels like the least necessary pick. Power Attack and Study Target means her two claw attacks would rock a +8 to hit and 1D4+9 damage.

At 4 she gets another slayer talent and she can use that to pick up a ranger combat style feat, so I really feel like now is the time to bolster up her defenses instead. Hrm! Iron Will feels like the best choice.


When you are ready let me know if you want to go to Nine Eaves or the Scriptorium next. Both are about the same distance away.

@Elka - Iron Will for melee types is never a bad choice :)

@DM - looks like the psychopomps listed them in order for us: Palace of Teeth (done), 9-Eaves and then the Scriptorium. I'd say we go with that order unless anyone objects.

@Allessandra/Gabbi - an Inquisitor's Stern Gaze means Gabbi will rock both Intimidate and Sense Motive... IOW, girls you're both beautiful so stop squabbling ;)

Is it locked even to a lockpick? Cos I've got a lockpick that's shaped like an adamantine heavy flail ^_^

...and I've just realised an adamantine weapon is masterwork by default. Need to add that to my hit rolls in future!


You could try to smash it if you'd like... Just remember this last riddle is for you to get the key, and the master may not like those who cheat.

Not a bad idea. Right now the annoying bird is overwhelmed with feelings of curiosity and lust (mating calls), but this little imp could definitely try to play matchmaker in the worst of ways.
