Hello all, I'm sorry to have disappeared so suddenly. I've been struggling with my mental health for about a month and things got so overwhelming for me to handle everything. Thank you very much for your patience, I'm still a little tender, but I want to come back and keep playing.

Thanks, yes I'm doing better today. Hopefully when I get through all the posts it'll be easy for me to get back into the swing of things. Less to feel overwhelmed with.

Question for GM: May I use Blood Transcription on that ghoul, please? Hopefully they have something that's also on the Wizard spell list.

You can certainly use blood transcription! The spells the ghoul knew that are also wizard spells are keen edge, see invisibility, protection from good, and true strike.

You won't need Eldritch Claws. You haven't had opportunity to discover this yet, but the unique circumstances of your dead/not-dead state grant you the ability to bypass the DR of undead creatures as if your natural and handheld weapons were magic and silver.

Does that apply to the tiger as well, or will he need to take Eldritch Claws?

Also, does our weird ability work on incorporeals too?

Braniac and I have agreed a slight customisation for Cuddles. He's taking 'Elementally Aligned' for negative energy, which we've agreed is Darkvision and Stealthy at level 2 and will give him Eldritch Claws for free at level 9.

Fluff-wise it wouldn't effect Cuddles - any companions we had when the incident happened died outright.

I'll write See Invisibility into my spellbook, and learn Chill Touch as part of my level up. That'll cost 40gp

Elka and Cuddles both get an AoO on the golem when Ellie knocks it down :-)

Iterative attacks - what are those? And really, it can be sneaked? Ah! If I had known, I'd have gone for three attacks as the first attack would've applied studied target to the thing ;x

Oh well. I've been playing quite a bit of X-Wing lately and that game has made me averse to taking unnecessary risks, hehe.

The only things that can't be sneak attacked are amorphous creatures like oozes or elementals. Pretty much anything else is vulnerable to sneak attacks, including constructs and undead.

Forgot to confirm in previous post that Cuddles took 11 damage from the AoO.

Iterative attacks - the secondary attacks from having high BAB. It's the +1 in +6/+1.

I was being sarcastic, yes, because Elká has natural attacks and won't ever get iterative attacks 8'(

I woke up to a blessed 19 degrees today and for the first time in a week, my brain is capable of doing the brainings. I'm not made for humid 34+ degrees weather where the nights don't drop below 23.

You know what? It's supposed to be 40-41 today. And, no, that's not unusual at all for this time of year (historic high for July - 45). But I'll take that over 35 and humid any day of the week. Yuck!

I've been to Egypt and there you're greeted by 30 to 33 degrees in the morning at 7 am. Yeah, while horrible, at least you can escape it by going indoors or into the shade. Here, there's no escape.

Damn. If that thing can do 35 damage in 1 round, then it may be time for a tactical retreat? Gabbi can carry Alessandra, and Elka can grab Ellie. Rest up, recover hit points and spells and come back tomorrow to take it down.

EDIT: No. Sh*t. Elka's still out of action for another round. So that doesn't work.

It's badly damaged. If you can hold it off a bit longer so Elka can get into the fight, you might prevail!

Fine, but who is going to "hold it off a bit longer" now that the 2 frontliners are down? If anyone else drops this round, you've suddenly got more people on the floor than you have in the fight.

At that point, retreat becomes a lot more difficult because you leave half the party behind.

EDIT: just realised it's even worse than that: Enlarge Person means Allie currently would take more than 1 person to carry her...

No, no, it's fine: his +5 to hit and his d6+2 damage are perfectly adequate... for fighting something CR 1.

With no means of taking away the nauseated state, there's very little Elká can do but wait it out :( the only means of removal that I can think of are 'Remove Sickness' or a paladin with the nausea mercy.

The good news is it's a new round now and you are no longer nauseated!

Hey sorry for the poof. I haven't read the gameplay yet but it sounds like we're having a really rough time.

My plan with fire shield was to jump into the fray and burn it to death. Even as a wizard, Ulrich actually has reasonable hit points. Any necromancer will tell you "Health is a resource!"

I can't think of anything a wizard can do to deal with nausea off the top of my head. Would have been nice for Heal to have something in there. I can treat poisons and diseases, but I can't stop Elka from vomiting. "Just gonna have to wait till it stops I'm afraid"
